The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hunter strode into the training area clad in the black tracksuit bottoms, white vest and black sports jacket that he often trained in. Kitra would be here shortly and Derrick would show here to this training area.
He decided to get some practise in, and drawing his sword began going through the motions of some simple techniques, before moving to more and more advanced until he became a whirling blur as he spun the blade about in intricate patterns, both offensive and defensive.
Derrick had showed her the way to the training room upon getting to the labs.
<I really wish I had been able to clean up though. My shirt and skirt are bloody from that bounty hunter.>
Kitra sighed aloud, "Well, here it goes." She pushed open the door only to see her boss practicing swordsmanship. Her jaw dropped slightly at the amazing display, but she didn't say anything. Kitra just watched in awe.
Hunter had noticed Kitra arrive, but decided to finish his little display. With a final flourish he tossed the sword into the air, letting it spin around as he picked up the scabbard and held it so the blade slid smoothly into it as it fell back to earth. Buckling it to his waist he smiled at Kitra and walked towards her.
“Glad to see you’re in one piece, though the same can’t be said of the guys who came after you. You were lucky though, had those other mutants not helped you out you could have been in serious trouble. I think it’s time you received some combat training as well as training of your ability.”
“First lets start by working out what you do know. Have you ever learned hand to hand combat in any form and what weapons have you created and used?” Training was always better if you know what the student knew before the training began.
Kitra had let out as small "Wow" at Hunter's finishing move.
"All I know how to use are a dagger, bo, archery, and very little kendo. I normally don't practice with swords Sir." She smirked, "As it's rather obvisous that I was in a fight and the police were involved, I'm not surprised you knew what happened. Plus, there is Derrick of course."
She had stopped and looked at her boss. "Where do we began?"
“In that case we’ll start with bo staff training.” Hunter was a master with all forms of hand to hand combat weapons. Unbuckling the sword he set it to one side a selected a staff from the rack on the wall.
“If you head through there,” he nodded towards a side door, “you’ll find the women’s changing room. In there you should find some clothes more suited to fighting in. If you’d change, we can begin.”
“Make your own,” Hunter instructed, “I’ll be testing your powers as well as your skill.” He wanted to see how good she was before he started training. A quick sparring match should tell him all he needed to know.
“For starters we’ll have a little sparing match. Don’t hold back at all, I want you to go all out. Let me see what you can do.” He took a ready stance with his legs spread wide and the bow pointed at Kitra.
Kitra gave a slight frown of concentration. She was very glad she hadn't left her bags in the SUV as they had some of her sketchbooks in them. A bo of metallic greenish- black color appeared.
Kitra swallowed and her thoughts were in a jumble, 'I'm going to be sparring my boss?! Can this get any weirder?'
"Ready Sir?"
Kitra moved swiftly forward and swung upwards towards the left, then lashed for the right side and backed away slightly having her bo at a defense angle.
Huntr blocked both strikes, but kept his bo in contact with hers as she stepped back. Flicking his to the right to knock Kitra’s aside he swung for her face, stopping a hair’s breadth before reaching it.
Pulling back he took the same stance as before and said, “Only ever pull back if your opponent is off balance. If they are not then they can use your retreat to press the attack, like I just did. Now try again.”
Hunter had blocked both of her strikes and she felt her eyes widen involuntarily for he had stopped a meer hair's breadth from her face.
"Yes Sir."
Kitra swung upwards once again, but this time it was a feint, she switched and snapped towards his side with the opposite end of her bo. She went low, aiming for his legs to knock him off balance. Then, she brought her bo up in a defence angle but aimed a blow at his stomach an instant after.
Hunter could see that her first attack was a faint, he had centuries of experience, and could spot the subtle differences in posture that showed a faint from a true attack. However, if he fought with his true skill and power this would not be a training session, but a beating, so he deliberately fell for the faint.
But just because he was falling faint didn’t mean he would let her get an easy hit. When she switched to her real attack he drove his bo to the floor and in the path of her strike. As her bo rebound from his he kept his moving, deflecting the blow to his stomach as he set up for his attack. Holding his bo horizontally he flicked with either end, aiming to catch Kitra in the ribs.
<Crap! Ouch, that hurt.' She winced, 'He saw that coming I bet.>
Kitra barely managed to block the blow to her ribs, nearly falling on her butt. She was rather off balance and she also realized she had been sparring for two minutes.
<Not good. I'm getting woozy. Techinically I have eight minutes left....I don't know if I can keep it up that long. Urk.>
Using the fact she was off balance, she feinted not once but twice, she feinted for his legs then his right side and then flicked her bo for his left arm and immeaditly went for his stomach then, in a very dangerous move, went for his neck, knowing that if she didn't stop it, Hunter would.
Again Hunter deliberately fell for the faints, but still managed to get his bo up to block the strike to the arm and the one to the stomach. As she swung for his neck he spread his legs and bent his knees so her bo sailed harmlessly over his head, just missing.
With her bo now hopelessly out of position he swung his at her ankles with the intent to sweep her legs out from under her. He could see she was starting to feel the strain of the fight, but whether it was from the fight itself or having to maintain the bo he wasn’t sure yet.
Hunter blocked all of her strikes with an ease that was frightening.
<He's not even trying! Meep!>
Hunter had bent his knees and gone below her strike and had swept her off her feet. She fell backwards and rolled upon landing.
She came up about five feet away and she let go of her bo with one hand. <I hope this works.> A throwing dagger appeared and she threw it at Hunter and a second immeaditely followed.
She sprang to her feet and almost fell back down, she was really dizzy from using her powers. She charged Hunter as her bo disappeared and two metal poles appeared (causing her to slighlty lose her balance again). She feinted to the left with one, then striking for the upper thigh, the other she went straight for his sternum (upper ribcage).
Hunter was impressed that she had managed to roll with the attack, managing to successfully distance herself unlike last time. He gave her a reassuring smile when she made the daggers and threw them. She was being creative, coming up with different methods of attack. In time she could be come a formidable opponent with the multitude of weapons at her disposal.
Spinning his bo he deflected the first dagger and caught the second one in mid air. Immediately he threw it back. The dagger shot past Kitra’s head, cutting off several stands of hair as it went.
Moving with the faint again he avoided the strike to the thigh by doing a one handed cartwheel over it. With the other hand he moved the bo to deflect the strike to his chest. Still cartwheeling he quickly snapped the bo at her wrists to try and make her drop her poles before he landed in a defensive crouch.
