The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

~“bah, if someone was dressed as me on Halloween they would assume the child was dressed as the devil, and if some pretty little girl was dressed as you they could only claim her to be a princess.” Venus smiled lightly leaning toward her again and to her other cheek he left a light but affectionate kiss, “I would gladly prove you wrong given the opportunity.” ~
Venus, damn the charming person he was, quickly turned Tris’s dark mood back to joking fun again at his comedic and seemingly affectionate words. Her somber face brightened as the suggestion of a smile curved her lip, and Tris couldn’t help but joke back; “And I’d gladly see you in a costume.”
They were standing closer again, Venus sliding his hands to her sides, and if she were to lift her arms around his neck, they might very well start dancing.
~‘if you can handle me and all that I bring with Me.” he gave a slight glance to see that the hummer was out of sight. And also intended the six big red bundles of baggage he brought with him. “Then surely I can handle sweet little you.” ~
Tris crunched up her nose at the over sugary sweetness of that last bit, looking comically adorable as she did so. Then her arm rising, her finger taped him lightly on his nose, then her own hands sliding slowly up and around to wrap around the back of his neck; “I guess we shall see.” She said in a mixture of mystery and light conversation, “Anyway,” she went on, changing the subject slightly; “Looks like we’re all set for dancing……unless you suddenly have something else in mind?” she finished, the last part sounding entirely too innocent to be real.
Tris's smile almost mirrored Venus's own- she teasing, baiting him again, as he leaned in closer and again swept her off her feet before seating her on the trunk of the car.
And thats when it happened, Venus it seemed had finally had enough of her poorly veiled teasing and decided to do something about it.
Tris watched as he tilted his head, closing in on her- not, as he did before, teasing her back by stopping a hairs breath from her own lips, but continuing on, making contact.
First there was the sensational jolt as lips met lips, and Tris, unlike her past performances, didn't pull away, didn't stop time, simply relaxed into the moment and closed her eyes. Then lips parted, tongues met, and bodies melded to the lines of the other.
Tris couldn't help but shiver as Venus trailed a hand up and down her back, as tingling sensations of divine deliciousness flooded her system. She herself, only concerned with maintaining contact, trailing fingers in blind but intricate patterns over face, neck, chest arms, waist, and back.
The long lasting kiss ending for the moment, as with a soft nip of her lower lip, Venus pulled back, they leaning their heads together for a moment- a mark of a different yet still sweet intimacy between them, and then lips meeting hers one more time, Venus pulled back further, letting them both up for air so to speak.
Tris opened her eyes as lips left hers, as Venus gazed into her eyes, she gazing back- enjoying the whole clichéd thing for many moments before the silence got the best of her.
"Wow......that was some something else." was her sly comment as she smiled at him.
~"That was but a sample of something else." confidence painted on his face he raised her by her hips gently and returned her to her feet, if he did so to show off his strength he did so subconsciously. Venus looked deeply into her eyes, " I have to tell you I don't think I have enjoyed myself like this in some time. I also don't think I intend on returning you to the labs before dawn breaks." he grinned to himself. ~
"Oh really?" questioned Tris with her eyebrow raised in an arch of incredulous expression; "You will, will you?" she finished with a wicked grin, designed to make confident males rather worried about what she could possibly be planning behind her innocent seeming eyes.
She reached out a hand, placing it on his shoulder, sliding her palm slowly down.....
...but Venus was distracted..... and there were headlights- the boys coming back? .....no, more than one car, and trucks, and bikes- and Venus didn't look real reassured. What was going on? Tris questioned in her mind, slightly annoyed at the interruption.
Venus raised an eyebrow in silent questioning at Tris, she shrugged back, noting the expensive looking vehicles rolling up- wondering what they had stumbled onto.
Venus then smirked at her- she could recognize that look (from the mirror if no one else) and knew it meant double trouble for whose ever clandestine meeting this was, as now certain Venus and Tris type people were curious and wanted to find out what was going on.
She motioned to Venus with a sweeping 'after you' type hand gesture, and winked at him.
~" Have I mentioned I hate being interrupted when I have my lovely date right where I want her?" he said in a smart Aleck reply to her former wicked grin.~
Tris played along, jokingly as usual- she sighed a mocking sigh; "Ah yes....such a pity." and winked at him again.
It seemed, out in the open as they were, they couldn't go unnoticed forever, and sure enough a motorcycle veered off its chosen course after seeing two people who 'shouldn't' be there.
A black dressed, tattooed body in a helmet crossed over to their location, the visor sliding up and down, gazing on her person- obviously checking her out. She for her part was fairly relaxed, leaning against the car and winking back at the mystery man with a flirty smile- this was no time not to be personable after all....until she found out what he wanted atleast.
Tris also noticed Venus, doing his 'tough guy' act, folding his arms and looking formidable, and had to supress a smug smile- awww, he was so cute when he was all protective.
I suggest you two go down to your friends in the hummer there and get the hell out of here, you want no piece of our business."
~Venus looked down on the apparently undaunted punk and grinned. " we will be where we want and when. I suggest you and your friends leave us to our peaceful night." ~ Was Venus's answer to the boy's sloppy threat. And Tris, tease that she was, simply smiled apologetically, conveying with her eyes that 'awww, sorry, I'd love to listen to you, but men....ya know, nothing to be done"......trying to subtly mess with his head.
The boy didn't answer, instead returning to his friends, seeming to confer with them- with many a gesture back at the couple.
Venus glanced at Tris~, "Kids these days."~
She turning her laughing gaze on him; "Indeed, " she offered, continuing to watch the biker dude and his friends. "Now dear." she continued in a mocking 50's house wife sort of tone; "I am alittle concerned- you seem to have made them angry.....whatever will we do." she dramatized, though her wicked sparkling eyes belayed her tone.
Tris watched the line of bikes converging on their position with a watchful eye, she was not nervous per se- having seen what Venus could do, and knowing what she could do......just wanted to know the odds.
~" how concerned are you, you want to split em even and take three each or are you feeling a bit posh, and like to sit back and watch me do the work?" he stayed calm but was watchful of the others.~
Tris's lips curved in a wickedly delighted grin at Venus's suggestion. "Ya know, I think thats a brilliant suggestion." she commented, walking backwards a short distance till her back was against the trunk of the car. Hopping up on the trunk with ease , she slid one leg up to cross over the other with grace, leaning back slightly and letting her arms take her weight. "After all, I wouldn't want to ruin the dress." she continued, looking quite a sight, sitting there in an evening dress, looking a prim and proper lady (even if she was anything but) amidst the dark alley and gang land kids that were closing in on them.
Tris did of course, fully intend to help out..... but she didn't exactly need to get up close and personal with the thugs to fight- so she might as well be comfortable.
Six biker boys lined up a little ways from them, dismounting from their bikes and began to spread out, circling the two they didn't know like a pack hunting prey.
Venus didn't panic- he didn't need too, instead beginning to undress down to a barer minimum then evening modesty would allow. ~ " I hadn't intended to get undressed for you so soon but I simply can't help myself." he joked to his date.~
Tris chuckled appreciatively at the joke, knowing the reason behind his sudden dressing down- that he didn't want to ruin his clothing either, no one would blame him for that.....but that did not prevent Trista Evans finding the levity of the situation and of Venus's character.
Tris settled in to watch a good ol fashion brawl, though, lets face it, a short one as Venus was likely to quickly wipe the floor with mere mortal street thugs.
.....it was however, a certain surprise when the head underneath the bike helmet that Venus knocked off turned out to be a lovely pale green with a third eye apparence too......Tris blinked- that certainly made things more interesting.
Venus however was not phased in the slighted it seemed, hauling that green mutant punk up in the air and throwing him away like trash.
The thugs hadn't really regarded Tris as a major issue just yet when the main attraction was Venus, and Tris used this fact to her advantage. Tris helped where she could- even thought the big red menace to street gang landers didn't need it, giving her own powers a work out, throwing out her hands and blasting around the edges of the group, keeping them hemmed in, unable to spread out and break for cover against the formidable Venus.
Tris was doing a fair job at keeping the ruffians busy while Venus tackle his chosen in a one on one style, blasting near them, even slowing down the molecules of afew of them so they slowed as if through treacle.
.....however the good fortune couldn't last forever- eventually two of the thugs decided she was enough of an annoyance to be taken out, they looked at each other, conveying somehow within shielded helmets, then looked at her again.
Tris was totally prepared for anything they had to dish out- or so she thought, as, before she could so much as blink, one of the helmeted figured blurred and the next thing she knew she was hit in the chest with a thunk, sprawled out on the top of the trunk, dazed and trying to catch her breath.
"Ruttin bastar..." she muttered weakly, trailing off as she trying to blink tears out of her eyes, keep sight of her assailants, catch her breath, and sit up all at the same dizzying time- right, so super speed it was then. She finally manged the sitting thing, giving the whirling blur that was running rings around her a hard look and then throwing some exploding air around the area- give him something to yell about. She was rewarded as the blur once more became a human shape with a sharp jolt and a yell of angry pain, Tris smiled smugly, she'd grazed the thug, looked annoying painful too. She concentrated and threw a freeze over him before he could think of something else to do- that way Venus could finish him off when he liked.
Satisfied that the mutant dude wouldn't be moving for several minutes, she then turned her attention to the other masked assailant, who had shed his own helmet and had a Grey and droopy head cocked to the side, looking at her with consideration.
Tris decided that she might as well freeze him too instead of being unpleasantly suprised again. And she did, aiming carefully and concentrating on stooping the movement on every cell in the thugs body, effectively stopping time for him.
THe positive side was this action worked, the guys was frozen solid, the negative thing was that he had been able to react before she had put him under the freeze, managing to throw his head back then forward in a fast motion, putting one in mind of a catapult being loaded...........and then- awww gross, out of his mouth shot a thick visceral purple substance that came at Tris. She managed to blow most of the slime up before it hit her, but not all. The stuff that got in contact with her body was trouble, seeming to bond to her skin and wrap around her till her arms were bound as well as her legs with a slimy, slick, purple colored substance that seemed to be able to slowly replicate itself. .....in other words- it was growing, already having almost cocooned her entire lower body in a slimy blanket that was impossible to break out of. Ewwwwww- completely grossness!
"Venus!" Tris wailed pleadingly as the stuff looking to be encroaching futher up her abdomen.
True to the knight in shining armor code, Venus came racing over as soon as he heard Tris's call, stomping on the frozen speedster on the way for good measure.
He grabbed the goo causing mutant by the throat, ~“Let him go, sweetheart.” He was careful to not use her name in the presence of these hoods. “So, we can get him to stop that.” ~
Tris nodded, her face alittle pale- she concentrated and the freeze worn off the goo guy. She gave the newly revived mutant an evil glare, keeping her voice as steely and steady as she could.
"Get this stuff off me or there will be nothing left of you but space dust!" she threatened.
Tris experienced a heady mixture of relief and vile fascination as the mutant gave in to her demand. On the one hand she was insanely grateful the gross goo was off her, and on the other she wanted to throw up, watching the mutant dude press the rewind on his mucus stuff.
The mucus mutant was pathetic now, his power and group broken, so he began to talk. ~" are you the xmen?" he gurgled through a thick layer of phlegm. " We only do what we must to get by and stay out of the camps you gotta believe me." Venus raised an eyebrow at Tris. "do you want to hear him talk?" they might gain some information out of this one before they proceed to continue their wraith. ~
Though she was still glaring evilly at the man, her interest was perked by his admission. She shared a glance with Venus, nodding once to show she was in, wanting to know as well as he about this new information.
She leaned forward slightly, continuing with the whole 'I'm gonna kill you if you so much as breath wrong' persona; "Oh no, we're not the x-men......we are soooo much worse than them, not burdened by any of that pesky morality......so if you want to get out of this alive, I suggest you tell us whats going on here." Her voice poilte yet with an icy chill under it.
Tris listened carefully, not letting the puzzlement in her mind slip into her expression, but still tryna work out what the shifty creatures were up too, and what was so illegal- could be drugs, she mused.
Seeing the guy was all edgy and avoided answering direct questions, Venus took over the interrogation. ~" what is it that they, have to come to you to buy?"~
It was at that point, Tris got distracted as Venus's tail unwound from where it had been tucked up protectively around her like a belt. She cast him a small smile and stroked the tail as it unwound from her affectionately. Before her attention was brought back to the thug.
"Items its hard to get elsewhere." said the guy hesitantly, still trying to aviod the direct answering.......big mistake when Venus was around.
Venus didn't take the guys refusal to give him the answers he needed very well, in fact he didn't like it so much that the guy ended up thrown into a truck- ouch, Tris flinched alittle at the very audible sound the guy's body made on impact, very glad indeed she and Venus were on the same side.
~Venus shrugged toward Tris. " I don't like playing the tell me or I'll hurt you game. Looks like we have almost claimed whatever it is in the truck for our selves anyhow, not to mention any number of motorcycles we want. ~
"Fair enough." Tris returned with a shrug of her own, grinning easily at his explanation, a grin which turned into a beaming smile at the mention of free motorcycles- of course being a member of the Kabal gave to assess to any vehicle she wanted, but it wasn't the same somehow.
~he looked toward the ongoing bout "I think they have it under control if you simply want to sit back and watch. "~
"Hell no- you aint getting rid of me that easily." She replied, putting on a dramatically affronted look; "I wanna find out what they guys are peddling just as much as you do."
~After a small survey of looking at her he thought she was no worse for ware. " are you alright, it didn't burn did it?" looking at the remnants of the purple muck.~
At the reference to her the purple muck, Tris took a renewed look at her lower self where it had made contact with her skin, and #GASP# her dress. "NO!" she wailed again in the purely distressed tones of one who knows her very expensive dress was quite possibly ruined. "But this is dry clean only and really super sensitive fabric.....no way is anybody gonna get these stains out!" She sighed heavily, looking miserable and angry at the same time, not even the sight of a flying motorcycle complete with person could cheer her up.
~ " if you want in this fight still you are going to have to beat them to it." he said with a luagh as he broke into a lumbering run, at about ten feet away he flung himself toward a pair savagely.~
Tris laughed at Venus's playful and carefree attitude- she admired that fact about him, she not giving a thought for the moment that he made beating people up fun for her.
She shrugged in a nochalant fashion; "Well someone is gonna have to pay for my dress." she said in justifcation. "and 'sides, I really wanna see what they dont want us to find." and so saying she started throwing to power into the battle, making sure the few who had so far escaped the clones wrath could not run away, hemmed in at every turn.
Tris had a curious sensation developing somewhere in the region of her conscience- not that she was noticing it right now as she was kinda having fun giving her powers an extensive workout on real moving targets...... but if she were to notice, the feeling would be saying, or shouting at her to stop and think for a minute- this was going alittle too far out of hand, Tris didn't hurt people with her powers unless it was an absolute case of self defense, and yet she'd already caused many of the thugs to have minor injuries, and afew major ones too, all because Venus and the boys had made this a 'fun' and enjoyable outing for her. The voice of morality in her head was nagging that it was a slippery slope from little things like this to crazy psycho killer lady..... but Tris didn't notice the inner dialog too much- she was having too good a time to stop now.
Seeing the fight wearing down, and that Venus and brothers had things well in hand, Tris decided she needed something else to do... she eyed the truck speculatively, stalking towards it, feeling all exhilarated and brave from the nights excitement, like nothing could stop her now. "Coming boys?" she called, her voice ringing out imperiously and expectantly.
Tris's good mood faded as soon as Pluto pulled the the rolling wall out of the way.......revealing 15 terrified teenagers bound up like Christmas turkeys. As Tris took in the gruesome scene, she began to notice the tell tale sign of mutantcy among the captured, and her heart went out to them, leaning across to Venus she muttered darkly; "What you guys did was too good for em."
Some of the guys went in, starting to unbind people, Tris being one of the ones helping the poor sods out of the truck.
She heard Saturn's question, and the scared but grateful misfit's answer.
~"sorry, there is no nice way to do that. Did those bastard bikers d o this to you?"~
"Yeah, they rounded us up off the streets, kept us down in the sewers, kept boasting about how much money they were gonna get for us.......they were gonna sell to some guy.....would of too if you guys hadn't done nothing....." the mutant suddenly trailing off, his lizard like eyes going wary as he went on; "so why'd ya recuse us anyhow?" the underlying question in his tone- are you truly here to help or harm us more? The poor wretches had been through so much, who could they trust?
Trista Evans watched as the poor teens made their way away, taking the motorcycles and truck with them as a small form of compensation, disappearing slowly into the night- she really hoped they would be okay now.
And eventually it was back to just Tris and the clones again, and Tris was kinda glad- how ironic was the situation where she felt pretty darn safe with these 'monsters' around, not that she couldn't take care of herself....but still.
~Venus returned to Tris and hugged her lightly; "lets skip the clib and head to the sanctuary. I have a thirst to see the closest thing that has ever come to home. Seeing what the world has made them do makes me want to resist what the world forces me to do. I don't think a club could top that little dance any how."~
Tris leaned into Venus''s embrace as he hugged her lightly, smiling slightly as his suggestion, even if she was alittle sad at the memories that seemed to make him suggest this option. "Sounds like a good plan." she agreed, before her features spread into a sparkling grin; "And you are soo right- not much could top our little dance."
(cringes- sowy Venus dear, I didn't mean to leave you so long......just stuff happened and afew days turned into this *hugs*)
Tris watched Abyss and the rest of his brothers minus one Venus heading back to the hummer.
Tris didn't catch much of relevance in the brothers conversation until; ~"catch up if you can you two."~ Mars goaded, laughing as he went.
A mischievous light lit Tris's dark eyes at that comment and she looked to Venus to see if he was game. He instead of commenting on her expression, took her hand, leading her back to their car- the passenger side for her, Tris noted with amusement, but she let he have his way for the moment, not wanting her fast speeds making him disappear again.
This drive was uneventful for the most part- they leaving just as some cop cars were driving up the way they came, but still boring after the excitement of the previous trip, the powerful purr of the engine soothing as Tris zoned out, relaxing into the plush seating, staring unseeingly out the window at the blurring scenery.
Tris came back to herself when she realized they'd stopped, she sat up straighter, looking round at what appeared to her to be random shadowy alley- nowhere special at all.....
She looked back at Venus with puzzled eyes; "Ummmm Venus- weren't we supposed to be going to Sanctuary?" she questioned, "I mean, this sure is a nice dirty alley.....but there were plenty of them where we were that we didn't have to drive across half the city for." she paused before adding in a joking voice; "Your not lost are you?"
