The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“We need money.” That was all that was commanded from his master, even if technically it wasn’t a command. It had been two weeks since his master summoned him from the darkness. His goal to study. Language, Hercules never had trouble communicating. Despite language barriers. He was what everyone told him, easy to read. Hercules was a man on a mission. The hat was uncomfortable, it scratched the scalp. Ball caps.... Interesting concept considering there is no ball on his head.
“Sorry for the interruption! I’m here to make a deposit!” the demigod said brushing past the wooden swinging door. His face wasn’t covered. Why would it be? He was a Demi-god. Everyone knew his name. What reason would the strongest god have to cover his face? He smiled and stood proud almost seven foot tall adjusting his tie. Hercules didn’t do ties. Or glass doors. Which was why he walked through it.
The glass cracked under his feet as he strutted forward. The movies showed that the banks had money. Always. He studied the method. Hercules handed over the bag he had seen in a dozen movies a garbage bag. The one capable of stretching to hold the weight of a lot of “Bills”. Hercules didn’t understand the name for the currency but knew it was what was need. His master Commanded it and Hercules was a man cursed to duty.
“My master. He told me this was a place to get money. I’m here to collect. Or Die Trying!” the last part sounded like a challenge. He wanted to prove himself. His current master was disappointed in his ability. A child. Disappointed in a god! What a time to be alive! “Come now! Fill the bag!” he put a foot onto the nearest desk crushing it under his feet. His skin glistening under his outfit. “The sooner we can get through this the sooner you can get back to your day!” without knowing the implications thanks to Hollywood, The God of Raw Power was robbing a bank.

Liz had put this off long enough, but she really couldn’t any longer. She needed to change banks because the one she’d been using back in college in Ohio didn’t have any branches anywhere near New York. Sure, online banking was a godsend, but not everything could be done in person. So she’d finally made her plan to switch banks to one not horribly far away from the mansion.
The blonde was sitting on a very cushy chair as she waited for her name to be called. The bank was adequately busy today and she was pretty sure there were about two people ahead of her meeting with the banker who’d help her open her account. She was idly watching the people around her and taking in the sights of the place, but at the same time her mind was wandering.
Not very far, though. Just a couple of feet. During her transit to the bank, Liz had picked up a couple of friends, two five-lined skinks that were continually alternating between soaking up her body heat or running around inside her hoodie, their little claws and tails periodically tickling her when they crossed bare skin on her arms or neck. She smiled, enjoying their simple pleasures as she opened her mind to fully immerse herself in their sensations.
Which is why, when the glass door shattered, Liz didn’t immediately react, enthralled as she was in the reptilian minds. But a shriek caught her attention and Liz refocused as a giant of a man strolled right up to the counter and delivered either the most effective means of withdrawing or the worst method robbing a bank ever.
Liz stilled herself for a few moments, to keep track of the situation. Her hand slipped into her purse where both her taser and her pepper spray were. She wasn’t law enforcement or even an X-Men, but she was still civilly minded. Just in case this brute came at her.

Everyone looked scared. Which was good, that meant according to the plots of the movie they’d be willing to part with the currency and he could go back to master and make him proud to have summoned him. Hercules looked around to see if anyone was reaching for their bags to offer the money to him. Green cotton or gold, those were the ones he wanted. The ones that had worth.
The friendly giant looked down to the glass wall and shook his head feeling guilty about breaking it. Alas they wouldn’t give him the money just because he wanted it. He had to show off to get it. A few tattoos glowed on one of his arms as he lifted the large desk he put his foot on seconds before making sure to prove that he wasn’t worth fighting. Surely there would be some guards to protect the bank from a heist like this one.
“There is no cause for panic. I’m am here for one thing and one thing only. Money! You’re lives mean nothing to me so you may keep them! For I have no need to harm anyone!” he boasted puffing out his chest almost reveling in showing off his strength. No one moved except for a blonde woman. Hercules hefted the desk behind him effortlessly making sure not to crush anyone.
“You there!” he pointed at her. “Woman! Maybe you can help! I’m looking here for money. You seem to be the only one aware of what is happening.” Hercules said looking around everyone still cowering behind things. “Maybe you can point me in the right direction.” he said hoping she wasn’t the type to play games. Normally Hercules would love to play games, however he knew from the movies he only had so much time before the ‘coppers’ arrived.

Elizabeth was absolutely confident the police were already alerted. After all, didn’t bank tellers and such have secret buttons under their desks for this kind of thing? The behemoth wasn’t exactly being subtle about anything either. From the corner of her eye, she could see security guards carefully moving into position. Oh good, people in charge were getting ready to act. This should all be over soon and she wouldn’t have to worry.
Then her shoulders slumped as the brute laid eyes on her and raised a finger. She didn’t bother glancing around to see who he was pointing at - with her luck, it was obviously her. <<Just like old times,>> she thought to her lizard pals, fully aware they wouldn’t understand her. Once again she was going to get pulled into a situation where she was being held hostage or something. That’ll teach her to switch banks and be an adult.
Besides, who was she to argue with a man who oh-so-effortlessly threw around desks that probably weighed as much as she did?
“Time to step up,” she whispered. Liz withdrew her hand from her purse and smoothed down the front of her jeans, as if she had a whole mess of wrinkles there. She tossed her wavy mane of hair back and put on her best “how may I help?” smile as she slowly and steadily walked in the man’s general direction, albeit remaining well out of reach.
“Hi there,” she started off sweetly enough. “You said you’re looking for money?” She eyed the bag without a single change in expression and returned to his face. “That shouldn’t be a problem. Do you have an account here?” she said, maintaining some distance from the man but walking at an angle toward the main counter, where some tellers huddled. “Or perhaps your master does? I think I also heard you say you were making a deposit.”
Liz fought the urge to giggle as a lizard skittered around her armpit. This was seriously a bad time to have lizards in her clothes.

The demi-god blinked as she spoke and immediately his tone became less of a serious one responding in kind to the warmth of the smile that was given to him. “Hello!” Hercules took a step forward towards the woman and smiled pitting his hands on his hips and taking a heroic pose one he had done for centuries. He was after all one of the greatest Heroes ever so he had the pose down.
“That I am Miss!” he said with confidence. “I’m actually here to take money, not deposit but I’ve learned it’s easier to start with a joke.” he said chuckling to himself. Most of the movies started with a line similar to the ‘deposit’ one he made. “and no... he doesn’t have an account. Which is why I’m here to take the money.” he said turning his head to follow the blonde who almost seemed to struggle to where she was going. Hopefully she wasn’t injured from his entrance. There were always casualties with mortals. Hercules however did his best not to be the one that caused them. He’s there to guide them and protect them. Not injure them.
“Let me be clear I don’t want to harm anyone.” he his tattoos lighting up as the sound of two gunshots were fired. One bullet hit his back just right and dropped the other ricocheted off his shoulder and hit a chandelier overhead causing it to break free from the ceiling. It shook and then fell. Hercules looked and ran to where it was about to fall, above the helpful woman.
“Please refrain from using guns! They don’t work on a god such as I!” he yelled as the light fixture dropped from the ceiling on his head and arms as he towered over the blonde smiling all the while. The weight of the light fixture caused his tattoos to glow before it rolled off his back a few of the small crystals scattered about. “Are you alright Miss?” Hercules looked away to the two guards and shook his head.
“You’re weapons aren’t needed for I will not harm anyone here so long as you give me the money!” he said sternly his face turning slightly red. He was getting angry. Hercules’s demand was clear and he didn’t want to have to be a hero when he was trying to acquire money for his master. He looked back to the blonde. “Now you were helping me?” he asked as he took his massive hand and gently picked a crystal out of the blondes hair and studied it.

Liz finally reached the counter as the man struck a rather bold pose. His entire body language shifted with that and even his greeting was...jocular. Okay, he was responding quite animatedly to her. That...was good, right? Truthfully Liz wished she’d actually taken up that chance for the tension-defusing seminar her boyfriend had invited to years back. Who knew it’d possibly come in handy?
The man seemed in a pleasant mood and that kicked Elizabeth’s mind into overdrive. Think, think, think. What do I do here? His strength alone meant he’d be formidable, and his sheer muscle mass implied some kind of innate touchness to back up his strength. So stay out of his reach. Great. No problem.
Liz’s smile flopped a bit. “Hmm, that’s going to be rather tricky, then,” she said regretfully. She glanced around in thought. “Typically, you’re supposed to put money in the bank before you can make a withdrawal. I'm sure their policy doesn’t allow for money to be handed over to customers without first being entrusted to the bank. Right?” She looked over at one of the terrified tellers, who nodded at her fervently before putting his elbow back over his face.
But then gunshots rang out. Liz saw glowing tattoos appear on the man and he boasted. Great. Bulletproof. Good to know. It was always great knowing exactly how much tougher your opponents were than you. Such a morale boost. Now the million dollar questions: was he taser-proof? Pepper spray-resistant? Perhaps she’d have the misfortunate to be able to test those driving questions.
Thoughts flew out of her head as a groaning of metal from overhead directed her eyes upward, and then suddenly the brute was interposed between her and a falling light fixture. She’d still raised her arms and crouched, to cover as much of herself as possible, but within a heartbeat she realized it was okay. This man had...saved her.
Liz pulled her arms down and channeled waves of calmness toward her reptilian friends, who’d begun freaking out over her sudden movements. Their activity slowed. “Thank you,” she said to the man as she stood up. She wasn’t in a place to feel a lot of fear. That was firmly locked in a box in her head, buried beneath complex analyses and predictive models. This was not a time to display weakness, only strength. So she didn’t flinch as a massive paw of a hand removed something from her hair.
“Yes, I believe I am quite well,” she said, as if nothing of note had occurred. “Although I must say, I would feel much better if people would cease shooting.” She raised her voice, ensuring everyone around could hear her, even as the shrieks and gasps from the gunshots died down. She had her eyes locked on this man’s face and all the gunshots were doing was irritating him. Time to de-escalate.
“Now where were we?” she said, once she had his attention again. The longer she could delay, the better the chance of the mutant response division showing up before anything got worse. “Oh yes. You don’t have an account. Perhaps we can go ahead and remedy that. What did you say your name was?” Liz tucked an errant strand of hair behind an ear and grabbed a pen and pad of paper from in front of the teller, ready to start writing down his information. As stalling tactics went, it wasn’t great, but Liz really didn’t have any better ideas.

‘Thank you’? Hercules blinked apparently not happy with her response to him saving her life. Usually people were far more grateful. Mortals... so wishy washy on their emotions. Taking a step back away from her he continued to study the crystal in the light marveling at the ingenuity it had to create something like this. His smile widened. What a time to be alive!
She’d be happier without guns. He would too. He was here for the money and didn’t want to get confused when he started to save people. That happened often. Or it used to it hadn’t happened yet and his Master didn’t chastise him for it so this was a new Era for Hercules hopefully his best yet! “If it’s easier I can go destroy the guns then you can help me get all the “Dinero” he said struggling to recall the other words for money from the movies.
Hercules stopped looking into the crystal and looked over to the guards already walking towards them. His muscles tightening against his shirt as he flexed. “Count yourselves lucky I’m already on a mission otherwise I’d give you two a good lecture about weapon safety.” he said tugging at his shirt causing it to rip and reveal a tapestry of tattoos.
“Honestly, I was just summoned to this era and I know not to fire near a crowd of innocents!” His tattoos across his body started to glow as he held out a hand near them. “You’ll get your guns back at the end of the heist.” he said confidently before pocketing the guns that were offered to him. It was a smart call, he towered over the two mortals and they didn’t even have the safeties on.
“Now then!” he looked back to the blonde, “I’m Hercules! Son of Zeus!” he said proudly posing again. His muscles might have been flexing. A child pointed at him and shouted, “I’ve seen your movie!” Hercules responded in kind and struck another pose and then waved to the child. “Now.... the money.

This man had all of Elizabeth’s attention. Well, other than the bit of attention taken by lizards as they continued exploring around inside her hoodie. But Liz was giving the guy her attention because it would be her only real defense in case this went bad. He was willing to talk and be worked with, that was good. Otherwise, with the strength and durability he’d displayed, Liz had no doubt he could wipe the floor with everyone and everything there and leave a massive bloody, broken mess behind.
So she was going to do her best to keep that scenario from happening.
As he went on a very interesting gun control mini-crusade, Liz tried piecing together what she knew. Had those been flashing tattoos when he’d been shot? Some kind of a physique-enhancing mutation then? He also claimed he was a god. Hmm. Interesting. Possibly some manner of delusion, ego, or possibly just showmanship. He was treating this almost like a production. He also had a master - someone bankrolling him? It didn’t seem like he was experienced at this. Hmmm.
He returned with pocketed guns and Liz thought fast. Okay, what next? What next? He gave his name and Liz managed to not smile, somehow. “Alright then, Mr. Son of Zeus, let’s see about getting you some money,” she said as she dutifully wrote down his name in quick, neat script. “We’re going to open you a checking account, since it sounds like you’re wanting quick and easy withdrawals - no sense in opening a savings account if you don’t plan on keeping any money in it.” Liz chuckled at her own pseudo-joke. “Now, would you happen to have some form of identity on you? Driver’s license, ID card, passport…? Just something to prove who you are.”
“Hercules is just fine ma’am.” he said holding up a hand when she addressed him with a more formal title. Normally he’d allow it but he was kind of in a hurry because the ‘coppers’ should be arriving soon.
The demi-god looked at the writing admiring the way his name looked under her penmanship silently wondering how long it would take for his handwriting to look like hers. The giant chuckled in response when she laughed at her joke. He was sure given time he would have gotten it. Time was something he normally had more than enough of, sadly for her and her paperwork it would remained unfinished.
“Idetification?” he asked then started to flex his brows, “Do you doubt that I Hercules am a son of Zeus?” a vein appeared on his forehead and he slammed the desk she was writing on with his hands taking care not to crush her hands or the paper she was writing on.
“No one questions my birthright! Not Hera, not you!” he shouted flexing again revealing the tattoos on his chest and arms showing off a few of the ‘trials’ that were visible. “Gaze upon my ‘identification’” he stated posing.

Okay, so no formalities. Just Hercules. Liz jotted that down too, under “preferred name”. “Perfect,” she said in a very businesslike manner, designed to acknowledge his statement without actually caring one way or another what that statement was.
The sudden impacts on massive hands on the desk made Liz jumped and slash through what she’d just written, even as her lizards froze and voided themselves. Twin spikes of fear stabbed up at Liz but she crushed them under surprise and cold focus. She looked up at the man with annoyance, only half putting on an act.
“I would appreciate it if you would abstain from doing that again,” she said evenly, her nose twisted a bit in disgust. That was mostly due to the little lizard pellets she could feel on her arms. Oh, that wasn’t going to be fun to clean out of her hoodie. She frowned in concentration for a brief moment and embedded in her friends’ minds the impression of her neck and warm and comfort. Hopefully that was a simple enough concept to get them to leave her arms and get to a place they wouldn’t be at risk of as much fear again.
Liz looked Hercules over as he boasted and posed. Oh, so that’s how it was going to be. She cocked her head like a parrot. He seemed disconnected from reality, which meant she didn’t need to be constrained by much realism herself. She couldn’t allow herself to be seen as a barrier because he’d already proven he could barrel through those, but she didn’t think becoming a fawning admirer would help in stalling him. Maybe just the “cog in the machine” approach?
“Hmmm, those tattoos are quite impressive,” she said with an appreciative nod, “as are the muscles. However, they don’t exactly prove you are who you say you are.” Liz put her non-writing hand to her chest and exclaimed, “now, I believe you. It’s obvious to anyone who sees you. But most of the people who deal with the money around here will never see you directly so they’ll need a paper trail.” She gave him a regretful look, as if there was just some way she could help.
Then an idea came to her. “Oh, perhaps if you had someone vouch for you? Maybe your master?” Somehow she said that without a hitch. “Do you happen to have a way we could contact him so we can get his testimony?”
“It is.” he agreed, everything about the Demi-god was perfect. It took years to refine himself to that point though and it was nice to see him appreciated.
“They are!” he agreed more glad she had enough sense to at least look up from her paperwork despite the way she just requested he not hit the table. Hercules felt like he was getting nowhere with the woman or in the bank. Why did Mortals choose to be here? Hercules didn't know but was starting to get frustrated with the situation.
“I do not. I’m not supposed to call him while he is at school.” Hercules said frowning and folding his arms. He wasn’t even supposed to go to his school. Just pick him up and drop him off to make it looked like he had a ‘guardian’. It seemed his Master failed to realize he summoned the Greatest Guardian In History!
Hercules decided that it wasn’t the woman’s fault. She was just doing her job and well, her job was starting to irritate Hercules which was easy to read after he stopped flexing and unfolded his arms. With a heavy eyeroll he exclaimed, “Enough of this.” his tattoos glowed as he crouched and jumped landing near the giant round swinging door. Luckily it was open there was just a some bars in the way.
“Let my actions and deeds be the trail the money workers need! For I Hercules Son of Zeus have been here!” his tattoos continued to glow as he grabbed the bars and bent them outward then pulled them from the walls bring concreate and the anchors that held them in place. He tossed it aside letting a loud clang be heard through out the bank. Some people used this as an excuse to make a break for the door. Hercules ignored them. He spotted the ‘Fat Stacks’.

His master was in school? Now that was interesting! How did a student, whether in grade school, high school or even college, wind up with a servant like this Hercules? This couldn't’ be a bodyguard situation, or even a butler - he was far too...brutish and...obtrusive for that. She started to ask more about his master but a look at his face killed the words. He was not happy now. Time was running out.
Liz watched as he proceeded to bound toward the vault and start tearing it off. Perhaps she should’ve been shocked, or even surprised. Maybe in awe. Maybe someone with a normal life would’ve been. But as Liz glanced around her, where many people had started streaming toward the doors with hushed but still-too-loud exclamations of fear and relief, and the rest just in fear or exhibiting the shock and surprise Liz herself wasn’t feeling, she realized once again that she had not had a normal life.
She wouldn’t have had it any other way.
But even the guards were vanishing. This was above their paygrade. In fact, the bank was clearing out well. Definitely the customers were leaving or hiding. Except for Liz. THe woman with lizard poo on her arms inside her hoodie.
She was marching straight over to the vault. Heaven help me, what am I doing! she thoguht as her feet carried her forward. This was above her paygrade too! She wasn’t a cop! Having dated a cop was not the same as being a cop! And she definitely wasn’t an X-Men.
But she was sick of being a victim and a bystander.
Liz stepped up to the vault door and leaned against the frame, crossing her arms. This was an easy position to slide a hand into her purse and deposit the paper and notes there. “Huh. And here I thought Hercules was supposed to be a hero. I guess the textbooks were huh,” she noted.
“Yes! Finally.” he said as he lifted one of the stacks of money. He frowned slightly when it shot ink all over his hands. “What sorcery?” was this Kraken ink? If so he knew he’d be looking at dyed hands for some time. He frowned and wipe it on his pants and then went to gathering more and placing it in a bag.
“Aye, that is correct.” he said without much thought feeding one of the bags he was holding on to with money. “Sadly not everything is between good and evil as much as I’d like it to be.” he said sighing, “I cannot disappoint my new master. He said we need money so here I am. My word is my bond and I gave my word I’d help him so here I am.”
He looked over his shoulder seeing the flashing lights and the empty lobby and then the blonde again. “Shouldn’t you be running as well woman?” he didn’t have a name so that was how he would address her.
“Something interesting about textbooks they leave out the real deeds the less heroic ones.” like killing evil kings and robbing them to pay the people. Hercules wasn’t a stranger to stealing for a cause. Just stealing from a ‘new- era’ bank like this one. Hercules couldn’t handle seeing his master cry again.

For some reason Liz had thought her words were going to bring Hercules to a complete halt. Since they were just words, and not charging elephants or whatever, they didn’t even slow the man down. He kept taking money and irritatingly calling her “woman.” Liz switched tactics.
“Call me Liz,” she began, not moving. Her lizard friend poked their heads out from her hoodie’s collar. One began crawling up her neck and onto her cheek. She didn’t bat an eye. “But why should I run? You’re not planning on hurting me, are you? I thought you said you wouldn’t harm anyone as long as you got your money.”
Liz was siphoning a lot of her calmness from the lizards. Then were warm and were generally well-covered, with shelter in quick sight in case anything came after them. They didn’t care about anything else, nor were they worried. This mindset appealed to Liz. She leaned into it.
“So are you saying the textbooks are wrong? That you’re not a hero?”k she said, pointedly staring at his thieving. “Hmmm. That seems accurate, considering the level of pain and harm you’re doing to the people of this city right now. Did it perhaps not occur to you or your master to find a more honorable way of accruing wealth, perhaps by working an honest job instead of jumping straight to ruining the lives of regular, everyday people?”
“Liz.” he nodded his head taking a handful of money and putting it into the bag. “Yes.” it did occur to him to find other ways of collecting money but this one seemed the fastest and easiest to him. For there was none that could stop Hercules. That much he was confident of.
His eyes turned to the woman, Liz and he ignored the Lizard climbing up her face. It was odd but once you’ve seen a woman like the Gorgon it was hard to be surprised but such things. “Careful Liz!” he said gruffly his eyes turning cold while a vein popped out on his forehead. “While I have no intention harming you I will not stand by and allow you to question my honor as a Hero. I’m doing this because I am one. A life hangs in the balance and I will not allow the Hades any more loved ones of my master!”
He went back to moving the stacks of money into the bag. The movies all said this was insured, and that it didn’t directly effect anyone except the owners of the bank. He frowned and looked back to Liz his face now clearly revealing he was questioning what he was doing.
“This way doesn’t harm anyone. This money is insured and a job takes more time than they have.” the lizard on his face was finally distracting enough where he stopped at what he was doing and pointed an inked finger at the woman named Liz. “Liz.... there is a Lizard on your face.... Liz... Lizard.” he laughed to himself. “I get it now.”
