The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“What I did? What I did?! Listen, Your Ludicrousness, I didn’t ask for these grass stains! Or to be, like, a blood sacrifice! All your fault. You’re totally paying for the dry cleaning!” Zek spat at Stupid McDumbface. His robe’s hemline would never be the same and the brightly colored plants would be forever marred by the blood of dozens of blades of grass.
But then yelling started and oh right, the blood sacrifice thing.
Zek swiveled his head to look behind him. Huh. You thought you knew some people. But there was a guy with a butter knife. Zek tsked. Everyone knew steak knives were better for sacrifices. The serrated edges really made a difference. He was starting to think twice about hanging out with the cult. They just had no sense of proper bloodletting rituals. The apples were good, though.
He pulled another apple out and started eating it as well, his head still swiveled around, making it somewhat awkward for his hands to reach his mouth, but it seemed like a time when everybody was making some sacrifices.
Until Lady Loser started putting a stop to that.
Whelp, if you can’t sacrifice things, what’s the point of even joining a cult? Other than the snacks of course. But everyone was listening raptly to the Emerald Visitor and Zek could’ve sworn he heard someone writing down her commandments with a quill pen and parchment. He just knew this was going to start a splinter sect - changes in orthodoxy were always so controversial.
And then her attention was back on him. He face almost blurred with how quickly he pivoted it back to her. He pulled himself to his feet in rage. “Excuse me! Bathrobe Zach was my father! He died in a bathrobe! You should be ashamed of yourself, dishonoring my family in such a way! How would you traipse across the Sacred Silver Saucer’s Seventeeth Pillar of Most Excellence, ‘thou shalt not dishonor a man’s father….or cow’?!” Just for that, she didn’t get a mirror. Whether or not he ever had one was beside the point.
The crowd gasped.
Zek turned and started pumping his fist. “Her-e-tic. Her-e-tic!” he started chanting. Some of the crowd started to join him, slowly at first, but gaining in numbers. But others just glared at him, Longbeard included.
Maya really needed to get out of this situation. She had a baby in her arms, and these people were clearly batsh*t crazy. And the bathrobe guy, he was gleefully spraying gasoline on the fire.

"What even are you talking about?!" Maya snapped, taking another step back. If she could just reach the diaper bag...
Uh-oh. They were chanting now. Not great.
>>“Her-e-tic. Her-e-tic!”
"Oh, f*** all of you!" Maya snapped. Iris began fussing again. The robes closed in, still chanting. Maya looked around... and caught a glint of something under one of the hoods.
... sunglasses?...
"Get a life!" Maya snapped, and unceremoniously kicked the guy in the crotch, before snatching the glasses off his face. The next moment, she was gone, baby and all. She would only be able to hop to the next reflecting surface at first... but it was good enough for now.
