Character
Personality: Rebellious, closed off, and jaded, Seven has developed a very negative worldview based on their experiences. Everyone is after something, and no one is truly ‘good.’ Trust is hard to come by, and all laws and social constructs were put there by powerful people who wish to stay in power. They only let people in as far as they need to, for as long as they need to. They are not adverse to breaking the law or any unwritten rule or construct, especially when there is money to be made. As much as they hate it, it’s literally needed to live.
Seven takes solace in their solitude, and much prefers the company of an animal to that of a person; animals don’t talk so much, nor do they judge you. Due to their mutation, they are normally irritated by unwanted noise, because to them, the world literally never shuts up. In most social situations, they’d be found in the corner farthest away from people and most electronic devices, noise cancelling headphones over their ears.
Deep down, there’s another side to Seven; one that wants to trust, to love, and to belong to something greater, but they’re afraid to put themself out there. They put up a wall of isolation and gruffness because they learned the hard way that only the tough survive, and they’re bound and determined to survive.
Hobbies/ Interests: Music, Computers, electronics, video-games Job or part time job and description: None officially, but they’ve been known to perform petty crimes for extra money, and they’re a decent hacker. Fears/ phobias/ concerns:Claustrophobia, especially in elevators. Being controlled or feeling helpless Special talents: Hacking, Decent at MMOs, Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic Neutral: Seven is very anti society, anti-structure, and anti rules. These things were meant to be broken, and besides, all those were put in place by powerful people who wish to stay in power. Seven does what they feel they need to do, for those they feel the need to do it for.
Mutations
Mutation description: Radio Wave Detection: Seven can audibly hear signals coming off of electronic devices that emit any frequency of waves on the radio spectrum: Radios, phones, laptops, even remote control cars within ten feet of them. They can pick up both sides of a phone conversation, radio stations, etc, though things like a phone that is just on, or a laptop hooked up to wifi, or even wifi routers emit the sound of a 90s dial-up internet. Sources with no audio pick up as static or 'white noise', and encrypted frequencies such as military frequencies register as mumbling or jibberish. They can focus on a specific set of waves, singling out one signal over the others.
Wave Surfing: Seven can travel via the radio waves they pick up by touching a device that emits radio-waves and focusing. Their body and everything they’re wearing converts to radio waves, and they travel through the air, coming out of another device and materializing. Seven 'surfs' at the speed of the radio frequencies, and they can hop from wave to wave until they come out of a compatible device.
Strengths: Ability to pick up information and signals from objects around them, don’t necessarily need an electronic device to be on the grid. Can travel distances in a matter of seconds.
Weaknesses and Limitations: Seven often wears headphones because they often feel like they’re in a crowded room where everyone’s talking and there’s this constant drone of what sounds like dying robots in the background. When focused on one signal, they’re basically tuned out of the rest of the world, and can only hear what they’re focused on. This only works on radio waves, and not someone talking to them. When traveling via radio waves, Seven’s only working sense is hearing. Coupled with the ten foot range of their hearing, traveling in this way is based on pure intuition and luck, because they never really know where they might come out. To surf, they need a device that emits radio waves which they can't take with them. They can take one person with them if they hang on, but will be totally senseless to what’s going on in the brief time it takes to travel. When Seven gets where they are going via this power, they have to take a moment to figure out where exactly they ended up. If the device emitting the waves on which they are surfing loses signal, Seven is ejected immediately from the closest device(if applicable), or they just materialize on the ground wherever they are.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: Seven’s athleticism is average. While not particularly strong or fast, they can hold their own, and their reflexes, stamina, and flexibility are all slightly above average. Fighting Style: Seven isn’t formerly trained, but they were raised by the streets, and as such they learned to hold their own in a bare-knuckle brawl where weapons are permitted. Their basic strategy is to keep hitting until the other person stops hitting back. Fighting Style Pros/Cons: Pros: They’re tough, and able to hold their own in a toe to toe fight, and their penchant for ignoring any rules(if any) plays into their advantage. Cons: They’re not hard to overpower or outmaneuver, and anyone with formal training would probably have little problem taking them down.
History Of Your Character Born Jessie Taylor Seville, the daughter of Mason and Alexa Seville, a young Seven never really felt like they fit in. Their father was a strict military type, who had settled in a day job but kept that military mindset and traveled a lot for work. When he was home, he was very strict and demanded perfection. Her mother wasn’t much better, expecting Seven to be more ‘feminine’ and like more ‘girly’ things than what they did.
From an early age, Seven struggled with self identity, unless they were playing online games under the handle Unlucky7. There, they weren’t burdened with social constructs or anything of that nature. All they had to do was not die, and keep their teammates from not dying. As a result, they retreated into their games often, and often got punished for it. In retaliation, Seven started acting out in school, and made friends with the troublemakers.
At age eleven, they started hearing noises ranging from static-laced radio-stations to broken up phone conversations to what sounded like robotic screeching. Hearing tests all came back perfect, and their parents just thought Seven was faking it. Seven, meanwhile, realized they were picking up on actual radio signals and learned to tap into it, focusing on one signal at a time.
Meanwhile, they began hanging out with more of the wrong people, dabbling in petty theft, and learning how to use computers to hack into certain networks. By age thirteen, Seven learned to ‘travel’ via the radio waves they picked up on, but it was very hit or miss. It was at this time they also started going by the name ‘Seven’ and began to accept that they identified as neither male nor female. Their parents were not pleased by this to say the least, so Seven ran away, moving in with an older, less than savory friend who let them crash on his couch.
It was here that Seven learned more about commiting crime for money, and developed their cynical view of society. Over the years Seven struck out on their own, bouncing from place to place in the city, using their skillset to make money. Now 21, they decided they need to settle down and stop bouncing around so much. So, they decided to hunt for an apartment and quickly realized places in New York were freaking expensive. They knew to do what they needed to in order to survive, so...it looked like it was time for a roommate. Roleplay

Some people had cool powers that let them fly and crush metal with their brains. Other mutants picked up on every freaking TV, radio, cell phone and wifi signal within their vicinity.
“Today’s traffic report is--Did you hear Jim got fired because--I’d love to take a pin to a heart shaped balloon~--Next time on Frenzy Championship Wrestling! Can The Anarkist dethrone the World Champion Manfish in the first ever Fishing-Pole match?--Dispatch we have a 10-54….”
Livestock on highway? What? “Well that’s enough of that…” Over the ear headphones were placed strategically over a black beanie that covered messy blonde hair as the figure made their way down the sidewalk in a baggy tee shirt and jeans, obscuring any identifying features. Hands were shoved into pockets, and they wore a tattered black backpack. They turned, walking into a nearby apartment building, and were motioned into the office where their cold blue eyes stared at the woman across from them.
“Headphones off, if you don’t’ mind, dear.” The young mutant rolled their eyes and removed them, trying to shut out the flood of noise from the nearby electronics in the room. The computer’s annoying screech as it connected to wifi, their phones giving off a mildly frustrating buzz, signals from the radio in the room next door. Attempting to shake it off, they filled out the paperwork and handed it back to the woman.
“Dear. I need your birth name. Not just...Seven.” “Seven is my legal name,” they said dryly, sliding their ID across the counter to the older red-headed woman that obviously went a bit crazy with the dye to cover up the grays. The lady looked at it, specifically where it said “Jessie ‘Seven’ Seville.” “Oh...So I see. Seven…” “Ha! Suck it!”
Moments later, they were pulling their headphones back over their ears as they exited the building and made their way nonchalantly down the sidewalk. They couldn’t for the life of them understand why these apartments never called back...
