The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Agnes never realized how much fun all this could be. She was breaking down her ex-girlfriend into pieces and slowly rebuilding her into something far more to her liking. Of course all this was in the name of revenge but it was hard not to enjoy the total domination and control that she was beginning to exert over Rebecca. But, that was only one small step in the process of taking over her ex’s life. There were so many other aspects that she needed to commandeer, so much more that needed to be spoiled so that, in the end, the redhead would have absolutely no where else to turn.
In thinking that through, only one name came to mind: Mirror.
Ugh, even after so many years she couldn’t stand that gender-shifting freak. They had spoiled her own secrets so long ago, then took it a step further when they and Becca had laid together on some highly overrated mission to Budapest. It was enough to make the insect queen’s stomach turn. However, it was an irritation she needed to confront if she were going to fully set her plans into motion.
Becca was single now. Mirror...always seemed incapable of holding down a relationship. Still, with Becca single, it was only a matter of time before she ran right back into Mirror’s arms, if she hadn’t already. That was something that she was not going to tolerate. It was time to start the next phase of her scheme.
The last time Agnes even spoke to Mirror it was well before she left for college. However, the news showed that s/he was a busy little bee. The newspapers loved him/her, the internet forums were filled with their fans, and Agnes wanted to gag. But, the fans had seeming done the majority of her work for her, pointing out various locations where the mirror-walking mutant tended to patrol. Things were even more noteworthy, now that the rift was open in New York City. She knew where Mirror would be and that was utter perfection.
With a smile on her lips and a devilish gleam in her eyes, Agnes stepped out for the night, on the hunt for her next big game target.
***
It wasn’t hard to cause trouble. Out in the alleyway behind the Diamond Rain Lounge, a lesbian bar in the city, Agnes had seeming found the perfect partners to cause some trouble with. It was easy, really. She found a somewhat presentable young woman who was with her butch date. The buzzcut woman was clearly furious when the winged Agnes stepped into the scene and began to openly flirt with the thin, blonde date at her side. Though she tried to keep it together throughout the date, Agnes kept pushing and pushing until, finally, it all broke apart with a stolen kiss.
Agnes and the blonde strolled out of the club, making a beeline into the alley where she began to run her lips along the other’s neck. Hands clasped her back, avoiding the wings to be safe, but utterly falling to the carnality that was quickly fogging up her mind. Agnes, however, was a magnificent actress as she wasn’t in the least bit truly attracted to this woman. It was just the bear she was trying to poke.
The doorway to the alley kicked open and Agnes and the blonde yelped and looked up. There was Buzzcut with two of her equally rough-looking cohorts. Deep down Agnes was smiling, but her expression was that of arrogance tinged with fear. As they approached, Agnes’ wings fluttered nervously as she took a careful step back.
”H-Hey...come on, ladies,’ she offered. ”No need for all this, right? We can be civil.”
“**** you you goddamn ****!!” Buzzcut yelled. Her two friends, one sporting glasses and the other with biceps covered in tattoos. “You need to be taught a lesson!”
“Babe! I’m sorry, okay! Just...Just let her go!” Yelled the blonde. Tattoo immediately grabbed the blonde and pulled her out of the line of sight. Buzzcut and Glasses zeroed in on Agnes.
”Now...please. We don’t need to get...OOMPH!!” Before she could finished, Buzzcut shoved her, hard against the wall. Agnes yelped! ”Ow! No! Stop!!! HAAAALP!”
Come on Mirror, you b****... she thought. Time to play hero.
Patrolling seemed to be pretty much all the X-men were doing these days. They were spread pretty thin; on top of the rip and SUPER venturing across it, crime, in an annoying lack of turn of events, did not cease to happen in the city. Sometimes it was hard to tell if trouble was stirred by the other universe or not; but most of the time, normal, everyday, run of the mill mischief still happened. Which meant that the X's had to work twice as hard.
Maya was almost off the clock, doing a last sweep of the neighborhood before she would go back to the Mansion. Of course, this was usually the time when things started happening...
>>”Ow! No! Stop!!! HAAAALP!”
In an alley behind a bar, there was a group of women, three of them threatening a fourth, with wings. Maya, who had been slipping through windows, stepped out onto the lowest level of the nearby fire escape, putting an arrow on her bow. She really did not have much patience for such nonsense these days.
"Alright, I'm gonna count to ten and this party will break up, nicely" she declared, glaring at the attackers "Unless something about the X-men uniform makes you three wanna fight, in which case, you'll make my day suck, and you don't want that. Now. One. Two..."
Okay so Buzzcut knew how to shove someone. Agnes could still feel those spiderwebs of pain that rolled over her back, causing her to wince and roll her shoulders. Any harder and she was certain one of her wings may have been broken. But, that didn’t seem to be the case. She wouldn’t have really cared if it had happened. A few moltings and she would be back to her regular, buzzy self. Of course she didn’t let this apathetic attitude show itself up her attackers. No, she had a performance to continue with, namely, playing the damsel in distress.
So, her back against the wall, Agnes held onto it, trying to keep herself upright. She really wasn’t hurt but she needed to make sure that Buzzcut felt like a big woman, otherwise where would the lesson be in her thrashing? She was probably gambling on the chance that Mirror was working tonight, but when weren’t the X-Men working these days? No, she would show up. She knew that she would. The insect queen only hoped that it was Maya night, otherwise she was going to be in for a lot more than what she bargained for.
She whimpered, holding herself as the other woman continued to advance. She screamed for help but her hoarse throat couldn’t get the words out any further. It was a good thing that this was a pretty nasty neighborhood, filled with people who simply didn’t care about one another. There was very little chance anyone would help -- that is, except for the one person she wanted to.
“Maybe I should just knock you out…” Buzzcut threatened. “...then teach you what a real woman can do.”
Agnes lowered her face, supposedly in fear, but muttered just under her breath. ”Promises, promises…” she teased. This seemed to set Buzzcut off as her eyes widened, her nostrils flared, and she prepared to bring her boot down on the back of her head. However, before she could even lift her leg, the sound of another crashing the party filled the air.
And Agnes’ grin simply widened.
>>"Alright, I'm gonna count to ten and this party will break up, nicely. Unless something about the X-men uniform makes you three wanna fight, in which case, you'll make my day suck, and you don't want that. Now. One. Two..."
Every woman in the alley turned their attention to the source of the sound. There she was, the exact person that Agnes was looking for. The pathetic heroism of this city never seemed to come to an end, which was something it desperately needed. But none of her revulsion shown on her face as she held her stomach, looking pained and yet relieved to see someone who was willing to help her. Crystalline eyes locked onto the X-Man, her wings buzzing pathetically weak as she tried to recoil from her attacker.
”Oh my god…” she whispered, yet still loud enough to be heard. ”Thank you.”
“Shut the **** up!” Buzzcut yelled to Agnes. She cracked her knuckles as she stood up taller and glared in the hero’s direction. “I dunno what nerdy, cosplaying bug crawled up your ***, honey, but I suggest taking the toy bow and scramming!” She pointed at Agnes, her two friends closing the gap next to her, one holding the struggling blonde whom Agnes had been making out with. “This ***** needs to be taught a lesson. And unless you want in on the class, I suggest to turn that pretty butt around head for safety.”
A fist found its way into Agnes' stomach thanks to one of Buzzcut's friends. Agnes doubled over, hair masking her face as she just about fell to her knees. Of course, hidden behind the curtain of hair, she grinned sadistically and whispered in the back of mind. Bingo.
Her appearance was both timely and well timed, but Maya had to deal with the fact that despite her uniform, the attackers were not about to back down or give up. Go figure. Criminals getting testy with the X-men.
>>“I dunno what nerdy, cosplaying bug crawled up your ***, honey, but I suggest taking the toy bow and scramming!”
Maya's eyes narrowed. Were these idiots from the other side of the rip? Or did they just not care? They had the winged girl against the wall, and the blonde held down. Maya did not approve of any of that.
>>“This ***** needs to be taught a lesson. And unless you want in on the class, I suggest to turn that pretty butt around head for safety.”
They hit the winged girl for emphasis. Maya sighed. Fight it was, then.
"Where I come from, I teach the classes." Maya noted shortly, before she took aim, and sent an arrow through Buzzcut's calf. It was a clean shot, nothing major, but it hurt enough for the woman to scream in anger. "You're gonna look awful in orange, darling."
Buzzcut and her friends didn’t know what they were getting into. Agnes, however, knew the gendershifter well enough to know that s/he was not going to take such comments lying down. They liked to play the hero, helped stoke the ego, after all, and if there was anything that Mirror was made of, it was ego. That was something that Agnes could surely use to her advantage and the buffoons who were trying to fight the X-Man were certainly adding to her cause.
Agnes apparently hit the jackpot with whom she had lured out here. The three women were tough, half drunk, and in need of spilling blood. Their pride was on the line! There was no way they were going to let some Halloween-costume wearing cosplayer get in the way of them teaching a lesson to an obvious skank. But painful as the punch to the stomach was, Agnes still smiled, her hair hiding the twisted smirk that only grew wider with every passing moment. They were boasting and that could only mean they were in for a world of hurt.
>>"Where I come from, I teach the classes….You're gonna look awful in orange, darling."
The arrow cut through the air like a whistle before burying itself deep in the calf of one of the women. Agnes lifted her head, just enough to look through the veil of hair and spied Buzzcut shrieking in pain as the projectile tore through the muscle in her leg, driving her down onto her knees. The angry woman snarled and snapped like a caged boar, holding onto the arrow as pain cut through her body. Agnes only smiled, watching with satisfaction as the other attempted to pull the arrow out, but to no avail. Tsk, tsk.
“Gawd, dammit…” she hissed through her teeth. “Don’t just stand there! Get her!” She bellowed, pointing towards Mirror.
The two other women were on the move. Having released the blonde from earlier, she ran off, crying, clearly now scarred for life from the ordeal. Agnes, however, remained rooted in her spot, clutching her stomach where she was punched. The pain had subsided a long while ago, but she needed to keep playing the victim, for now.
Hench(wo)men on the move, they started to pick up discard bottles and bricks and hurled them at the superheroine. However, their aim was clearly not the best as projectiles bounced off walls and fell back to the earth with a clatter. Still, their aim was good enough to have true aim at the X-Woman, a few items pelting around her. If she didn’t move, one of those things could actually hurt. “Come down, you *****!” one shouted.
It was a sharp (and very satisfying) shot. Maya did not usually shoot to cause permanent injury, so the woman would be fine, as long as she did not make it worse by trying to pull the arrow out. The blonde fled, but the winged girl was still crouched on the ground. Buzzcut, despite being on the ground too, was definitely more pissed now.
>>“Gawd, dammit… Don’t just stand there! Get her!”
Honestly, she was like a bad movie villain. Maya rolled her eyes.
"X-men! What part of X-men do you not understand?!" she snapped at the two attackers, pointing at the X on her uniform before a beer bottle flew past her ear "Aw, come on!"
>>“Come down, you *****! See how much of a woman you are face-to-face!”
Projectiles flew by; Maya ducked out of the way of the few that came close, and then got bored and jumped off the dumpster she had been standing on.
"About fifty percent, gals, but that's still enough to kick your asses" she grinned, putting the bow away to deal out some kicks and punches instead. They were not as enthusiastic as their leader, and after a cracked nose and a dislocated shoulder, they started to retreat.
As much as the blue-eyed temptress absolutely despised the little mirror-hopper, she had to admit there was a kind of fascination with watching her work. Mirror had always been eager to jump into a fight in her youth, but it seemed that these days, that was something that hadn’t changed. S/he was still as boastful as ever, but there was even more skill wrapped behind it. It was disappointing to know that Mirror hadn’t died in the midst of battle, but then she wouldn’t be able to have the fun she was planning on. She guessed that was something.
Peering through her fallen hair, she cringed, playing the fool, as she watched Buzzcut struggle with the arrow that had pierced her leg. Her cronies were standing, throwing projectiles at the X-Woman and shouting for her to hop down and meet them face-to-face. Even Agnes wanted to roll her eyes at their stupidity. Maybe it was a good thing she drew them out and put them in Mirror’s crosshairs -- a few less stupid people in the world.
>>"X-men! What part of X-men do you not understand?!
S/he moved, dodging around what was thrown and keeping relatively unharmed in the process. If s/he could survive the higher training levels of the Danger Room, then these b****es didn’t stand a chance -- a point to be proven fairly soon.
>>"About fifty percent, gals, but that's still enough to kick your asses"
Agnes watched as Mirror moved, dodging around and making the other two look like absolute fools. Smacked, kicked, and embarrassed the duo of strong women until they started to back away and retreat. They weren’t going to suffer anymore injuries just because Buzzcut had lost her woman to a clearly hotter woman. However, even as they retreated, Buzzcut was having none of it.
She stood up, shaking, an arrow still in her calf as she glared at Mirror. “You b****!” she shouted angrily. “How dare you! I’ll rip you apart with my bare hands!!” She roared, nostrils flaring like a bull’s. She looked as if she would run directly through the small X-Woman, but a loud THUNK! of metal against bone immediately silenced her bravado.
Buzzcut felled and Agnes was standing behind her. Her pale arms seemed to be struggling to hold onto the corroded, broken pipe she had managed to find amid the trash. As much as she wanted to see the beefy woman snap Maya in two, she was smart enough to know that wasn’t going to happen. Besides, she had other plans. So, having knocked Buzzcut out, Agnes sighed, shakily dropping the pipe on the on ground with a clatter.
Her sapphire eyes turned towards Maya, momentarily welling up in appreciation. She sniffled. ”T-Thank you…” she managed to choke out. ”I...think you saved my life.”
A few kicks and punches were enough for the two minions to realize that Maya was out of their league. They ran, leaving their leader injured, and royally pissed. Maya hoped the woman would stay down; she already had an arrow in her leg, and Maya really did not want to have to explain any more aggravated injuries to the police when they decided to arrest her.
>>“You b****! How dare you! I’ll rip you apart with my bare hands!!”
She was too close and too fast approaching for Maya to pull out the bow again, so she took on a defensive stance... but Buzzcut never made it all the way. Instead, she fell forward, having been clonked hard on the head by the winged girl. The fight was officially over.
>>”T-Thank you… I...think you saved my life.”
"Well. Nice finishing move." Maya smirked, gesturing at the woman on the ground. She stepped closer to take a look at the winged girl "Are you okay? Do you need to sit down?"
Agnes had had enough foreplay. She needed to get the behemoth of a woman handled, especially as Mirror had managed to put the fear of god in the other two. With all of her backup gone, Buzzcut was left to fend for herself and she certainly wasn’t going to take anything lying down. Once she had her footing, she shot the X-Woman the nastiest of looks and shouted in an almost supervillain-esque way. It made the ex-runaway roll her eyes a little, but the charge she was throwing herself into certainly wasn’t something to take lightly.
It all happened in a fraction of a second. Buzzcut roared in frustration, she started to charge at Mirror, and the X-Woman was bracing herself for impact -- but it would never come. Agnes’ hands wrapped around a pipe that lay broken and discarded on the ground. It was time to play the hero for a “hero”.
She moved fast. She hefted up the rusted pipe, swung with all of her might, and struck the back of Buzzcut’s head before she got more than a step or two out. Immediately Buzzcut came to a grinding halt, her skull thudding against the concrete as he body fell flat. Agnes sighed, holding the pipe limply in her arms as she switched back to her more pathetic persona.
She was saved. Mirror had saved her! She would get to return home to her girlfriend, Reilly, and the two of them would make love and plan 2.5 kids for their future house surrounded by white picket fences. That’s what people were supposed to feel when they were saved, right? Personally it made her want to hurl, but if it got her close the Mirror, then so be it.
>>"Well. Nice finishing move...Are you okay? Do you need to sit down?"
She shook and nodded her head. She took a few careful steps towards Mirror, biting her bottom lip a bit in nervousness. Finding a sturdy box, Agnes bent her knees and took a seat, carefully crossing one leg over the other. Her sapphire eyes caught Mirror again and she offered the smallest spark of smile before looking away.
”I’m...okay. Stomach is sore…” She carefully pulled up her shirt, exposing her little of her firm, flat stomach. Already it was bruising but it wouldn’t be bad. ”I guess that’s what I get for trying to meet someone new, huh?” She shook her head, burying her face in her hands and sounding extremely frustrated. ”I’m never using Swiper again,” she grumbled. Swiper was dating app that was popular these days, that you would sift through and swipe one way for people you liked and another for people you didn’t. She turned her eyes back to Maya. ”If it wasn’t for you, I’m pretty sure I would be dead. And all because I can’t get my dating life together.” She sighed. ”God I’m a mess.”
The winged girl sat, and Maya joined her once she picked up her weapons, and called in the fight. She glanced at the exposed skin, seeing the bruise, but she could not see any immediately threatening injuries on her.
>>”I guess that’s what I get for trying to meet someone new, huh? I’m never using Swiper again,”
"Oh lord, tell me she was not your Swiper match" Maya rolled her eyes, nodding at Buzzcut. It had probably been the blonde, honestly, but knowing Swiper, it could have been pretty much anyone.
>>”If it wasn’t for you, I’m pretty sure I would be dead. And all because I can’t get my dating life together. God I’m a mess.”
"You handled yourself pretty well, really" Maya patted her on the shoulder with an encouraging smile "Honestly, Swiper is a hit or miss in New York. Too many weird people in this town." she chuckled.
Agnes was a good actress. Her years of living on the streets taught her to survive and now her natural instincts and need to achieve her loft goals were ensuring that she carefully manipulated her victims. In the bar she had easily been able to pull the blonde to her, making her forget her short-haired lover. And out here in the alley she managed to perfectly play the victim, a poor, scared girl who bit off more than she could chew when she stole another woman’s lover. And now, here she was, seamlessly fabricating another tale for the heroic X-Woman. Damn she as good.
Agnes sniffled and took her seat, assuring the hero that she was fine and lifted her shirt to expose her flat, toned stomach. The bruising was already forming from the punches that she had received but it wasn’t too bad. She would live.
And so she needed to concoct a story. A tale about what had happened that would ensure that she was the victim here. Mirror sat by her side as Agnes spoke, revealing that she had come here to meet her Swiper date. It was all B.S. but the ex-runaway told it with enough conviction that he could hardly be viewed as a falsehood.
>> "Oh lord, tell me she was not your Swiper match"
She snorted and shook her head as she gestured to Buzzcut. ”She’s definitely not my type,” she said. ”No, it was the other one. The dumbass who ran away while I was getting the **** kicked out of me.” She rolled her eyes, burying her face in her hands. ”Gaaawd.” Her wings fluttered. ”She said to meet her here and I guess she was trying to make the buffoon over there jealous for whatever sick game she was playing.”
The character she was developing was pretty good, in her opinion. A young lesbian just trying to make it out in New York and a victim of a failed dating app. Really the stories were a dime a dozen but were so frequent that who could deny it to be truth? Thankfully Mirror seemed to be taking it, hook, line, and sinker.
>>"You handled yourself pretty well, really, Honestly, Swiper is a hit or miss in New York. Too many weird people in this town."
Another snort. ”Tell me about it,” she said with a sigh. She arched her back, wincing and holding her slightly bruised stomach. ”It’s all the advertisements faults,” she said with a nod. She then grinned, her piercing blue eyes watching Mirror. ”They always advertise gorgeous ladies like you. How can I resist a chance like that?” She then blushed and looked again, chuckling and hiding her face. ”God I’m sorry. That was so goddamn cheesy.”
The Swiper thing baffled Mirror a little. She had never really been on a site (app?) like that; whenever she was not in a serious relationship, she was hooking up with teammates, apparently, so she had never really been that actively looking. She had the general idea of how the thing worked, backed up with many, many stories from various people. Some stories ended better than others.
>>”She’s definitely not my type. No, it was the other one. The dumbass who ran away while I was getting the **** kicked out of me... Gaaawd... She said to meet her here and I guess she was trying to make the buffoon over there jealous for whatever sick game she was playing.”
"Yeah, that's too bad. I bet there's another app she could have used for that." Maya smirked. She really did not want the winged girl to blame herself for running into something like that. Could have happened to anyone.
>>”Tell me about it. It’s all the advertisements faults. They always advertise gorgeous ladies like you. How can I resist a chance like that?"
"Oh, I doubt they are like me" Maya laughed, but blushed a little none the less. It was nice to be flirted at sometimes. She liked to allow some time for the playful banter before she had to dump the info on a girl that she was also sometimes a boy.
>>”God I’m sorry. That was so goddamn cheesy.”
"I told you, you are doing just fine" Maya smiled encouragingly "Do you want something to drink? I mean, the cops will want to hear your story later, but I can bring you to them once you are ready. And I feel like you deserve something for getting through all this bs just now."
It made Agnes’ stomach turn a little to speak so sweetly to Mirror, one of the banes of her existence, but she also knew that she needed to do whatever was necessary to make this happen. The truth of the matter was that Agnes was throwing herself full into this scam. If she were going to dominate Becca in every manner possible, then she had to ensure that the redhead had nowhere to run once everything came crashing down. Sveta, though they didn’t know one another, would despise the redhead; she would get to work on Gina soon enough, and Mirror, the **** buddy she consistently ran back to like clockwork, needed to be handled.
In the end, there would be nowhere for Becca to run that she has not already touched. Every square inch of her life would carry a glimpse of her sweet and devilish smile; and it would serve as a reminder that Agnes was apart of every aspect of her life. Oh how delicious it would be to see that look on her face when she realizes that her own option would be to continue to answer Agnes’ beck-and-call.
But this journey still needed a few more steps to make it so. Already Becca was bending to her, yes, but she needed Mirror now. That would be the largest piece of the puzzle acquired. And, thankfully, it seemed to be working.
>>"Oh, I doubt they are like me"
Agnes blushed a little, looking away. She was a good actress, playing on the role of a fan, a victim, and feeding the idiotic mutant’s already larger-than-life ego. Still, it served the purpose she wanted it to, earning a smile from the brunette and that patented sense of humor that only showed itself when she was interested. Perfect.
A grin and a shake of her head, she buried her face in her hands as she lamented just how ridiculous she probably sounded. But the ego had been stoked too much for Mirror to accept that Agnes’ line was cheesy and simply sided with her, appearing as a comforting friend.
>>"I told you, you are doing just fine...Do you want something to drink? I mean, the cops will want to hear your story later, but I can bring you to them once you are ready. And I feel like you deserve something for getting through all this bs just now."
Sweetly Agnes bit her inner lip in thought, glancing at Mirror out of the corner of her eye. She did her best to appear like her fondest wish was about to be granted, though that was difficult with the bile that churned in her stomach. Still, she managed to portray it rather well, reaching up to tuck a few strands of her long, dark hair behind her ear. She nodded, her blue eyes never leaving Maya’s.
”Y-Yeah…” she said with a nod. ”I’d...I’d really like that Ms…” She snorted. ”I don’t even know your name.” She stuck out her hand to the X-Woman whom she already knew. ”My name's Abigail.”
The girl had been through a lot. She was not naive, or at least didn't seem to be, but she was definitely rattled. A nice girl, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maya felt like she needed to convince her that the whole world didn't suck. And when you have just been in a mutant powered fight, a drink was definitely useful to take off the edge.
>>”Y-Yeah… I’d...I’d really like that Ms… I don’t even know your name.”
"Maya" Maya smiled. It was easier to be on a first name basis, and it was not like her secret identity was all that secret anyway.
>>”My name's Abigail.”
"Well, nice to meet you Abigail. I wish it had been under better circumstances" Maya smiled, offering a hand to help her up. For a split second, there was something... like the name was somehow detached from the girl. Not that Abigail wasn't a nice name. It was. It was a nice girl name. Maya shook the weird feeling out of her head. "How about we find a place that is a little less... uh, prone to trouble?" she chuckled, nodding at the bar she had come from, followed by the evil mutant women. They really needed a change of scenery to get over the shock. Also, Maya wanted to keep a close eye on the girl, in case she discovered she was hurt after all, once the shock wore off...
Of course Agnes already knew the person that she was dealing with. She didn’t know everything about the mirrorwalker, but she knew enough, including her name, residence, and the indisputable fact that s/he was a complete b****. Ever since she first met the shifter, all Agnes knew was that they were definitely no good. The cocky smile, the holier-than-thou attitude, a well-deserved punch in the teeth were what was required, and Agnes had delivered the goods in the past. But now, things were different. There was a more important game to play here.
Power. Control. She needed to ensure that there was no one that Rebecca could turn to and that meant spoiling things with her and Mirror. Though Rebecca never said it, Agnes was sure that something was either going on or about to go on or had gone on between the two. As much as that irritated the hive queen, and as much as she wanted to rip the gendershifter’s throat out, she would stay her anger for now. Instead she would try a different manner to drive a wedge between them.
Her hand delicately slipped into Maya’s and they shook in greeting. A fake name was offered, one just off the top of her heart. It was close enough to her real name that she shouldn’t make a mistake.
>>"Maya"
”Maya…” she briefly mulled the name over. ”Such a pretty name...fitting.” she cooed gently. But she left it at that. No reason to pour it on too thick just yet. Biting her bottom lip she looked away, took a calming breath, and conveyed the notion that she really, really wanted to get out of here. Thankfully the gender-shifter has enough mental capacity to understand her subtle hints.
