The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Aura sat in the back of the prison laundry truck, she had bribed a few of the guards to let her and a friend into the jail through the truck The bribe had been with their families lives. They were human and thus expendable though she had kept that part to herself. She had also included a monetary part to the bribe she was pretty sure was better then half their years salary. She looked down at her iphone and the information they had on the prisoners.
The truck had bags of clothing and smelled pretty bad but the truck had benches they could sit on, she had also acquired the basic layout of the jail. Aura herself was dressed in a black fitted top and pants. She hoped this went well but their was a plan in case things went south which would be messy and loud and so she hoped not to need it.
The prisoners she could see the records of were mostly non-violent crimes though a few had resisting arrest. She heard the gate open and the back door to the truck open the guard looked in nodded to the pair and closed the back door "Almost time, you ready?" she said with a smile as the truck started moving again. A few minutes later the truck stopped and the back doors opened to reveal a room with rows of washers ans dryers and a few people dressed in orange jumpers. Aura calmly struck the guard in the head knocking him out as per their deal. The other guard however turned and the look of shock on his face showed he was not on Aura's payroll.

It was in a prison that David Maxwell Duckland became the man known as Sledgehammer. In general Sledge tried to avoid prisons, not just because he was an illegal immegrant, though he was working on getting that situation ammended (becoming a citizen, not the illegal aspect so much), but also because he was a wanted criminal. When you break your way out of jail, even if it was for minor charges, you instantly got into even more trouble with the law. Breaking into a prison was most likely just as bad. This was going to be an extremely risky job, and it better pay off in the end. If there was the same sort of problems that he encountered when he had to break into the bank there would be hell to pay.
If Sledge had a say in how they would have started this job, it would not have been in the back of a truck. He was a fan of finding a way to make it seem he was suppose to be there. If you had the right details and acted as if you belonged, nine times out of ten people didn't even glance at you. He was sure that he would be able to do it on his own, but he wasn't on this mission by himself. Aura and him were working together to break some people out of this prison. There were some mutants that needed to be liberated from their incarceration. Since Sledgehammer was able to make doors where there weren't ones meant he was very helpful for jobs like this. "Does it matter iffin I'm ready or not?" he asked Aura.
At least if he was going to be doing something this insane he had a good looking lady as company. Aura was an attractive young bird, though she was not the type that he usually went for. Arrangements had been made for getting into the prison, but David wondered what the purpose of punching out that first guard served since he had been involved in the plan to begin with. The guy could have helped to deal with the other guard. No doubt that Aura wanted David to handle the other guard with one of his super powerful punches. But All David did was whistle to the guard to get his attention. He grabbed the guard and threw him towards a wall. The movement was unexpected and the guard's head banged into the wall. He dropped like a sack of potatoes.
Hades had gotten a last minute invite from Aura. Did he want to break into a prison for a tidy sum? Why ever not? He would welcome the normality of a job, and if his last encounter with Aura was any indication to go by there would be bloodshed. Truth be told he could use the opportunity to let off some steam. Training dummies can only do so much. What with 1000 years worth of memories suddenly downloaded into his brain, learning that he once had a wife and kids that had been murdered... That was a lot to deal with. But tonight there was the job. There was only the job.
Hades messaged Aura back to let him know he was in. The first part went like clockwork. Covert infiltration of a electrical contractor building to obtain plans for the power grid that fed the prison. Private contractors, if you picked the right ones had even less security than government admin buildings and were even less vigilant about missing records. In any case it was a quick in and out job to scan and copy the plans.
The night Aura picked was a good night. In that it was cloudy and there was a storm front moving towards the prison, more importantly, there was thunder... and lightening. Find the power conditioner to the feed for the prison and induce a natural looking breakdown. Next deploy a tripod with a spool of wire, attach one end to the feed and the other end to a rocket. Fire rocket into storm cloud and Voila! Power surge due to lightning strike. With no power conditioner, the massive surge in power hit the prison complex, blowing fuses and tripping breakers. The essential systems immediately switched to backup power but the damage was done. The cell locks still worked but other "non-critical" features were out for the count. Little things like the ultra high voltage, barbed wire topped fence, Auto tracking stun gun turrets and their more lethal bigger brothers, and the potentially annoying halogen high power search lights. Besides backup power could only last for so long, and if that were to ... "break down".... well that might be unfortunate.
His first task completed, Hades gathered up his equipment, hopped on his wrangler and headed towards the prison. He left behind him nothing to suggest that the power surge had be a result of anything more than unfortunate coincidence. Aura had been a little light of some of the details so he had packed a versatile tool kit.
#####Text to Aura "1 is complete(disable mains power), en route. Is 2 (disable backup power) a go or jump to 3 (Join the main raid)? "
Things were going well so far, Hades was in which meant the power and security camera's would be down. Sledge had taken down the remaining guard quite easily as she had thought he would. She could not tell if the blow was lethal or not but either way the guy would be out for awhile. She had to admire the silent and efficient work. Quickly searching threw the down guards pocket she found the card key she was looking for.
Without power the door opened right up for them. The hallway in front of them was short and cold looking and Aura visibly shivered taking the first steps into the prison. She was ashamed to admit to herself but the place scared her, from her short stay almost a year ago.
Checking her phone she quickly sent a text back. A simple number two, she did not want the power coming back on while they were in the prison. She could only hope things kept going this smoothly. The place was dimly lit and faint voice in the distance could be heard.
"Once we get past the guard station after the turn there, we need to find Block D, it's ground floor. You want to handle the guard station or should I?" she asked quietly. The D block was on the right from what she had been told but their would be several guard stations they would have to pass.
"Joe! you know what happened to the power?" a voice from the guard station asked someone, a faint bit of static told Aura it was likely a walkie talkie the man was talking into.
Hades parked his bike close to the prison but hidden by a hill. He was dressed simply in a form fitting black suit. He brought his blades and throwing knives and a silenced pair of pistols.
With the main power and the electric fences down, getting into the prison was easy. Once inside he pulled on his balaclava. As a tribute to Aura and the Order he would be sure to leave their symbol prominently around. He was sure she would appreciate the gesture. Silent and unnoticed as shadow he slipped down to the basement where a pair of guards were standing watch as a technicians coaxed the backup generators online.
Two short swords were horizontally strapped to the small of Hades back. When the sword smith had forged them, he had christened them flash as that was the first and last thing their targets would see.
The guards were joking back and forth. "...So what are you doing for valentines da..." *Flash* Both guards fell silently to the floor. The Lights to the generator room suddenly went out. "Hey who turned out the ligh..." *Flash*. Hades punctured the fuel supply to both of the generators and left the last guard cowering in darkness. They man was a threat to no one, moaning in the corner. If the man attempted to light the emergency flare at his belt he would seal his own fate in a fiery blaze of glory. Hades made sure to flick the symbol of the order in the deceased blood on the wall. He also drew a smaller Rangnarok symbol in a corner of the hallway outside. It was his duty to do so after all. All in the name of sowing chaos.
That taken care of there was still one more source of backup power, the battery banks that still kept the mag-locked cell & security doors operational.
He poised above the control center, he was crouched on a structural I beam from which the lighting panels were hung. He had quietly prized back one of the insulation panels from the false ceiling and took in the scene. He looked down at the frenzy of activity as the staff tried to bring everything under control. Snippets of conversation drifted up to him from below.
In the basement, Tobais was quaking. This thing of shadows had come and killed two hardened guards before his very eyes. He was an electrical technician. He did no sign up for this. He was barely keeping the panic at bay. There was a liquid slowly oozing across the floor, what that blood. He could not take it any more. He seized the emergency flare that he kept on his belt and lit it. He gasped... the was enveloped in a flash of blinding light and heat.
Far above Hades felt the vibration, then the alarms started sounding.
>Awaiting further instructions he texted.

Provided David kept his mouth shut he was pretty forgettable. Unlike some other mutants he didn't have wild hair or eye color. There were advantages to being able to blend in with a crowd. The second he spoke though he'd be picked out in a police line up. His accent hadn't faded at all since coming from England, even if he was in a city where there were a million different accents that could have affected his own. So until they were out of the prison and the mission was over Aura could hardly expect her current companion to be the smooth talking young buck.
Getting the guards out of the room was the next step. Still holding back on that first most powerful punch David clenched a fist. His arm instantly became more solid, less like flesh and bone and more like steel beam. He whistled too, drawing the attention of the guards inside. They rushed out through the door, straight into David's outstretched arm. It made them drop just as quickly as a punch, mostly because their windpipes just rammed into something hard enough to hit through a brick wall. They were going to be out of it for awhile.
