"Wait" Chris stopped in mid step and pivoted to face Blond. Briefly he contemplated the possibility that they wanted to fight but he dismissed it when he remembered his earlier remarks. Chris slowly walked back to the table and sat down again. There was a brief period of silence while he worked out what to do next. He was about to start anew and pretend nothing had happened when he realised that if Blond had a different reason for speaking he would look like an idiot. Not that he wasn't but he tried to appear otherwise. Instead he sat there and waited for the other to speak unconsciously fidgeting with his staff. A small voice in the back of his head suited that this was even worse that the other plan but Chris had stopped listening to that a while ago.

That decision was pretty pretty out of the blue, leaving him frantically clutching for a way to continue in the brief silence that followed. It would have been so much easier to stick to what he knew, but no, he had to allow his loneliness to get the better of him. He almost wished that this was a dream, but knew he couldn't be that lucky. leaning forwards, Ember rested his forearms on the table, trying to keep up his confident act, but overall, the act was likely given away by the slightly more subtle signs of how tense he is, such as his clenched fists and posture.
"All I that humanity has ever showed me was the daggers in their smiles, and then you expect me to believe that there is any reality in friendship." He snarls slightly at the end of that rant before continuing, "but despite all that, I can't make the desire to interact go away. So how about this..." He pauses for a moment, a little uncertainty flickering over his expression before he continues, "I will give you a chance to try and convince me that there really is more to friendship in humanity than using others to achieve their own selfish goals."
Admittedly, that was more insight into his mind than Ember had ever relinquished to anyone, and it was... unnerving to say the least. Being honest about himself, or even putting any trust in any individual could almost be considered taboo to the long haired brawler. He almost felt like just running away, before this Chris had a chance to worm his way into his trust, but maybe, just maybe, it was time for him to stop running away and hiding behind the stone walls of his heart.
