The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Chandra disappeared through the other door. Joseph watched her go then looked back to Gerard, who was gawking at the young woman in the room. “Mr. Gerard, go get some Advil will you?” He watched the other man leave the room and then turned back to Kiya. “I apologize for him. He’s… less than polite at times. You look to be at uneasy. Is there something I might do to make you more comfortable?” He then shook his head, and gave a sigh when he realized that could be taken in the wrong sense. “I’m sorry if that came out wrong. Would you be more at ease if I left as well?”

*Watching the older woman go only made her more uneasy but as the mans question registered in her head she glanced back at him and ran a nervous hand threw her mess of hair, pushing her hood off her head.* Umm, well I think I'll be just fine just...promise not to look okay? *the beast snickered at her words but she maintained what little was left of her composure and made her way to the bathroom. She didn't mind so much pulling her hood from her but as she looked down she realised she had not worn her normal t-shirt under it but those long strips of old cloth wrapped dangerously tight around her chest in order to maintain the look of a boy. Shaking her head slipped into the bathroom and shut the door till only a crack was left and turned on her heel to take in her surroundings. ' Your so cute when your being stupid Kiya' it cooed into her mind* Shut up damn it *sitting herself on the toilet she pulled off her shoes and socks shoving them off to the side as she got back up to examine the bath. Rubbing her forehead as she looked down at the one large dial with hardly any labels she rolled her brown eyes and reached back for her hoodie. Pausing before she could get her fingers around it she scolded herself, she didn't need to keep being so scared about herself it wasn't like she didn't had enough cover already the cloth about her body covered more then enough. Opening the door once again she leaned a bit against the door frame * You don't....know how to work this thing do you?
Joseph nodded and gave a warm genuine smile. “Of course not, I’d not even dream of doing such a thing,” he said, and added after a moment’s pause. “And my wife would never forgive me if I did. If there is anything else you should need, just ask.” With that said he turned his back to her as she crossed the room to the bathroom. He had no intention of sneaking a peek at her while she bathed, his wife would indeed give him hell if he even thought about it. He smiled for a moment at the thought of his wife, and daughter, and then snapped back to the room as Gerard reentered.
“She gettin’ into the bath?” He asked with a grin that Joseph did not reciprocate. “I see she left the door cracked for us to take a look.”
“Advil please?” Joseph did not even bother answering the other man’s questions, and thrust his hand, open and palm up for the headache medicine, in front of Gerard as he started to walk past him towards the bathroom door. “Your post is outside for tonight Mr. Gerard.”
Gerard dropped the Advil into Joseph’s hand as he turned to face the other man. “Why? Miss deLeon don’t care if we stay in here. We’ve stayed in the room countless nights before, and tonight’s no different ‘cept the extra bonus of that lil’ morsel she picked up from the shelter.”
“Tonight is very different Mr. Gerard,” Joseph said with a sigh and a shake of his head. “Get out, consider it… Job Security. I highly doubt that Miss deLeon would appreciate you scaring her new friend by being your normal overly lecherous self. Now, out.”
“You’re full of s--“ Gerard started, then swallowed the rest of his words from a single glaring look compliments of Joseph. “Right, yes Sir, Mr. Talc.”
Joseph sighed softly to himself as the door closed behind Gerard, he wondered why Chandra bothered to keep him around, besides being able to throw a mean right hook and shoot a dime dead center at fifty yards. He shook his head, thinking to himself, then answered Kiya’s question without turning around to face her, not being certain if she were exposing herself or not, and choosing to give her the most privacy as he possibly could. “Sorry for Mr. Gerard… he’s crass among other things sometimes… The central knob controls the water, pull it out to turn it on. Left for hot, right for cold, if you want to take a shower instead of a bath, pull the tab on the faucet. If you need me to show you, let me know… and promise me you’re decent when I turn around.”

*she hadn't really heard the rude words passed between the men but let out the first laugh she had had in years * Yes I promise I'll only come out dressed, Thank you I think i can figure it out from there *ducking her head back into the bathroom she shut the door fully this time and lifting the knob to run the hot water. Removing what was left of her clothing she winced at the red marks left on her body from the bindings that had held her. Pulling the stopper on the faucet the water rushed from the shower head. It took hardly any time at all for her to finish dry off and pull her clothing back on save her socks shoes and the yards of cloth. Picking up the last of her things she pulled open the door and pulled her fingers threw her wet hair a few times* I'm done and dressed, thank you sir.
Joseph nodded and turned about. “You’re welcome miss.” He held up the bottle of Advil and gave it a jostle. “Do you still have a headache?” He held it out for her to take.
Chandra came back through the open doorway. She had changed out of her business suit and overcoat into a white robe that draped down to just past her knees. She walked nonchalantly into the room and sat down in the loveseat. She looked between Kiya and Joseph and crossed her legs. “You were welcome to take a robe, and we’d send your other clothes off to be cleaned.”
She directed her gaze towards Joseph. “Joseph, could you be a dear and fetch me a little something from the mini-bar?”
Joseph nodded and set the bottle of pills on the coffee table and left the room. Chandra directed her gaze to Kiya again as he left. “I trust that they were both honorable and pleasant?” She asked, and then continued. “Lest you’ve got a some objection, we’ll be visiting a tailor to get you something…. More appropriate to wear.” She smiled and looked up at Joseph and took the glass he offered her. “Would you like anything Miss Delacourt?”

*She wrapped up her things and set them off to the side * No thank you, I don't really drink. And they where both as gentlemen like as possible *leaning over the table she took up the bottle and popped the top off into her free hand. Pouring out and easily swallowing what she needed she set it back down and glanced back at the bathroom* Well, if you plan to send them out I guess I should go get a robe like you say *She hadn't really taken the time to think about the fact that this strange woman had picked her up swept her off and into a place where she expected her to act at home in. 'So what is it that drives you to feel so comfortable, hmm?' metaly beating away the voice she turned on her heel and back into the bathroom for a long moment before cracking the door and almost sneaking back into the room, her clothing folded in her arms. As she moved back to where she had been standing she couldn't stop pulling on the robes ties, tightening them over and over out of nervous habit*
Chandra smiled and motioned towards Joseph. “That’s good, now, give your clothes to Joseph, he’ll make sure they get washed.” She took a sip from the glass Joseph had brought her and cast a casual smile Kiya’s way. “And my dear lass, I didn’t mean exclusively alcoholic drink. The mini-bar is quite well stocked with soda-water, water, and juices.
She smiled up at Joseph and patted his arm. “Bring back something to eat, will you? Pizza, if you’d be so kind.” She smiled, and drew her gaze back to Kiya.
“Yes Ma’am.” He turned on his heel and left the room with Kiya’s clothing.
Chandra took another sip from her drink, then swirled it around. “Tell me a little bit more about yourself, please. You’ve recently run ‘way from home, to get away from a hostile situation between your mother and grandmother, that much you’ve told me. What about your hobbies, what interests you? What kind of clothing do you prefer?” She smiled, then added in a most conversational tone. “Skirt, or pants? We’re going to have you fitted for a suit, among other things, tomorrow.”

*as she slipped down into the love seat she rolled her shoulders feeling the bone shift one even cracking * There is, not really much to tell I'm nothing special or anything and I'm not picky. I do prefer pants over skirts though *she took a moment to think* I like to draw I guess *lifting a single hand she reached inside the robe and pulled forth a piece of folded paper. She had kept it on her for reasons she couldn't remember anymore, and as she unfolded it she found herself faced with her demon. In pencil he was fleshed out on the paper, long hound like body, rows of razor teeth, sick skinless flesh and twisting bone horns swept back on his head all in blinding detail* I did this one a long time ago
”Hmm…” She cocked her head and looked at the other woman, and then at the drawing she had pulled out of the robe. “A little morbid, but I see potential.”
She let herself settle back down at stared at Kiya without really looking at her for a few slow long moments. “Yes, yes. A lot to work with here, plenty of raw talent to shape, be it your aggressive story-telling that you exhibited in the limo ride here, or your sketching talent that you are showing now…” Chandra plastered on a smile that said she had done this sort of thing before. “We need to work on your timidness lass, which may take some time, but…” She trailed off as she folded her hands over her stomach. The other woman had not even really expressed much desire to work for her and she was making such assumptions already. She gave herself a small mental shake and smiled again. “We’ll get you proper work attire, and then a passport for when we travel back to England. Start training you properly for a position in the larger scale of Antiquity Enterprises. Our advertising branch could use a fresh face, and bright ideas.”

*As she ran her hand threw her damp hair she realized it was having one of its better days, the stringy mess had turned to soft full bodied curls that hung around her face and shoulders. Leaning her head back against the sofa she listened to the words spoken too her but found her heavy eyes had dulled her mind as well. Propping one elbow on the arm of the seat she leaned her cheek against her small fist and nodded slowly* I don't see why not, there isn't anything left here for me and if you feel I am capable of all that your saying who am I to turn the offer, of not having to live in the gutters, down. *She smiled and for once it didn't pain her, the steam of her shower had made the skin over them moist and naturally coral again. Slipping the paper back in its place close to her body she blinked more then once to fight off the doldrums of sleep*
Chandra watched Kiya begin to nod off. She smiled, more to herself than anything else. She liked this young woman for some reason, and felt a connection with her. “Go on to bed. I can see that you’re struggling to keep your eyes open,” Chandra said with a smile, and waved towards the open doorless doorway. “You’ve had a rough day, and tomorrow won’t be much easier. Now go.”
She smiled again, the split in her lip had long since stopped aching, and since she had cleaned it up, was almost unnoticeable. Though the photo of the homeless man slugging her, and the latter one of him residing on the ground after Joseph dropped him, would likely end up somewhere in the paper tomorrow, she felt that taking Kiya off the streets was a good move, something that would definitely counter the possible bad press she would get. She began thinking up the press release to come out of her company in the next few days, announcing the prodigy, or at least she hoped Kiya would live up to that name, she had rescued from the streets.

*flinching slightly that she had be caught drifting away she blushed and sat up slow from the soft couch. As she moved to the end of the sofa she turned to her company and bowed her head and at the waist slightly, it was all she could really think to do as a show of her gratitude. Moving silently into the next room she carefully folded back the sheet of the bed her found there as if to preserve some delicate atmosphere. That she might stir the bed so little that it was like she had never been there, that was always her way. To come, stay and leave unnoticed it had always been better that way, no attention is better then risking bad attention. Slipping under the covers she was careful to tighten her robe and stuff it carefully in place around her before laying her head out on the pillow. It wouldn't take long for sleep to take her, to drift her into a state of lowered guard, and even though she feared that state what she feared more was the dreams that would surely haunt her. The panic they might cause would leave her mind frozen in terror and open, to him*
Chandra watched the younger woman leave the room. Kiya was incredibly placid, something they differed on. And it was something Chandra felt could and would be changed. Kiya was young and still could be molded into something grander than she currently was.
She gave a slight start as Joseph came back in, toting a pizza. “Sorry Miss deLeon. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“It’s alright Joseph, just lost in thought,” she replied setting the empty glass down. “Thank you for dinner. When we’re back in England, you’ll get extra time off. I know how you miss your wife and kid.”
“Thank you miss,” Joseph said setting the pizza down near her. “What’s special about this girl? I mean…” He shook his head and took a seat.
Chandra shrugged some. “P.R. move.” She lied, and then pulled one of the slices out. Joseph was her confidant, but she just did not feel like talking about something she had not quite put her finger on. “This will more than likely make up for whatever bad press tonight’s fiasco brought on.”
“It wasn’t a fiasco Miss deLeon,” Joseph said slightly defensively. “He deserved a lot more than what I gave him.”
“I know Joseph,” Chandra said with a smile. “Thank you for that. However, even though it was a blessedly short encounter, and you were completely in the right for what you did, bad press will still be spun. Have some pizza, and explain why Mr. Gerard’s standing outside instead of sitting in here enjoying this pie with us.”
Joseph finished chewing a forkful of pizza and swallowed before answering. “I didn’t want him scaring your new little friend. I’m pretty sure if you hadn’t broken two of his off-hand his first day he’d still be trying to slip between the sheets with you Miss. I figured he’d be better off, everyone would be better off, with him standing guard outside tonight.”
Chandra nodded, swallowed, and then spoke. “I’m thinking it’s about time to get some rest. Take this out and make sure Mr. Gerard has a bite or two. I’ll see you tomorrow.” She smiled a little bit. “And try to get a couple winks yourself.”
“Yes Ma’am,” Joseph got up and carried the pizza over towards the door. “Shall I send for a cot?”
“Yes, thank you Joseph,” She said with a smile and watched him go. She relaxed in the loveseat and let her mind wander once more until the cot came up. As soon as Joseph delivered the small bed into the room and left again Chandra turned off all the remaining lights and stripped down to her nighttime wear and settled down to go to sleep.

*Most of the night had been filled with blissful darkness, deep and unhindered by any visions but it must have been somewhere around four AM, the time she wouldn't realize or remember till much later, that they started. It started with simple bursts of her mother yelling and screaming sometimes even crying, her face twisted and stretched by her mind. Then it played out, her mother screaming inches from her face in words she couldn't even understand, the gnarled woman's hands flew to her neck and began to squeeze down on her, forcing the air from her lungs. As she writhed and twisted under the invisible attacker she sent herself from the bed to the hard floor with an audible thump. As the visions turned worse she couldn't sense the beast in her mind uncoil its sinister form from her mind and begin filling the parts of her brain she was no longer paying attention to. As her dreamed turned to visions of her body becoming that monster, the horror that had filled her mothers eyes as she screamed, the beast took the lasts grips it needed and took control. It snapped her body awake and forced her to the back of her own mind as she looking on in terror as if from a television screen as it stood her up. It didn't take long under his control for the changes to start, for bones to begin snapping and twisting, melting away or appearing in places they where never before. As her form twisted itself in painful ways, her skin gave way ripping from her to expose his thick hide. Her legs twisted back, her face ripped free into a long snout and as it took its first breath it exposed three rows of razor sharp teeth. Her arms twisted into long legs and from her back spines of bone slid from her tortured flesh, and claws painfully came into being from the tips of her new paws. He easily filled the room but had a eerie grace that kept him from breaking or tearing anything in the room. As Asga'hl lifted his broad head he took a long deep breath of air and licked his massive jaws.*
Chandra woke as Kiya thumped to the floor in the other room. She gave a soft groan, then pulled herself off of the cot and put her robe on in the dark of the room. She moved over towards the open doorway as Kiya’s transformation got into full swing. Chandra had shaken off the remaining dregs of sleep, frowning at the sounds, thoughts of something despicable feeding in the dark running through her mind. She reached into the room and flipped the light on, and just barely withheld a gasp as she beheld Asga’hl in the bedroom. Her mind labeled the creature in the room a ‘dragon’. She drew a single shaky breath, and regained her composure. She shifted her weight to the balls of her feet, preparing to break and run at a moment’s notice. She knew she could not hope to match this thing on strength, though hopefully she would be able to outrun it in the corridors of the hotel. Though before it came to that, she had a question.
“Where is Kiya?” She asked, though suspected she already knew the answer. “What’ve you done with her?”
