Continued from Booting up Cerebra

Sam’s eye snapped open and he quickly shifted his eye about the room. His hands and legs were strapped to the bed an all too familiar scene he was reliving from his childhood whenever he was acting up. The only thought though was this real or part of the prison he was in the one Slate helped him break. His thoughts went back for a moment on everything he just gave up, the life, the home, and the family. ”Sam… Ayrin, Alexandra….” he closed his good eye as a tear streaked down his face and he lost it.

Sam’s face contracted as he struggled to get up he was tired sore and now he had nothing left. What happens to a man who was given everything only to later come to realize it was a lie? They get angry, mad, enraged even and never before had Sam ever been so furious and full of hate in his entire life. His muscles contracted all over his body, as he pulled the straps not even bothering to ice them up. They were Velcro similar to the ones he had on his bed when he was younger the only difference between now and the past, was he was about three times the size of the little kid that and he was pissed.

”GARHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!” Sam felt the strain and the anger grow more and more as he gave into it he was stronger now far stronger than he had been in his entire life and Amanda and Sydney will do well to learn that. The Velcro straps snapped from the metal frame of the bed and despite the pain his body he was still yelling letting the hate and rage flow through him. The Velcro straps around his wrists and bare ankles shattered within seconds as ice started to cover his body. Sam inhaled again and looked towards the one-way mirror he knew he was being observed from and raised his hand and shot out several shards that pierced through the thick glass causing it to shatter everywhere.

”AMANDA!” Sam yelled again when he walked towards the exit that was the one-way mirror seconds ago. Glass crunched under his feet, which were now covered in ice as frost, started to fill every corner of the little room that had been his prison for so long. She wasn’t there and neither was Sydney. Some person he had never seen before was lying in a pool of blood and class with a shard of ice sticking through his side. Sam looked at the body and hesitated for a second. He wasn’t a killer… at least he didn’t want to be. What was it that Amanda said? ”Embrace what you were and are.” Sam let out another roar of anger and climbed through the wall where the mirror once was and he blew open the door with another barrage of ice shards.

”Where is she!” Sam yelled as he exited the door only to find several armed guards waiting for him all with their sights locked on his chest.

Halfway across the base Sydney ran down the hallway as three armed guards trailed behind him on full alert. The bases walls could withstand a nuclear explosion due to it being within the mountain but an attack from the inside, things were far more fragile if someone can turn it to solid ice luckily they were sealing sectors off and those doors were tough to penetrate. “Someone get Amanda on the line now! Also try to lock him down and seal the exits he isn’t going anywhere!” one of the armed men stopped and nodded, “Sir!” seconds later they tracked Amanda down to her room where another ten armed guards were standing outside her door on full alert. The buzzing of the alarm and the flashing red lights were quickly growing tiresome and when he entered Amanda’s room Sydney could tell she was feeling the same way about the alarms. “Just seal him in one of the hallways and cut the air supply!” She quickly suggested reading Sydney’s thoughts.

“Problem with that is he might actually try to off himself at that point and we still need him if we are going to run things as smoothly as we planned. Sydney quickly replied wishing it were that easy. But this was Sam and he was unpredictable as is and in his current state. Sydney gave Amanda a look, “I told you I can control him I just wasn’t ready for another Telepath mucking everything up!” she said defending herself from his look. “Get him under control now!” Sydney ordered and quickly exited the room.

“Poor Sammy….” Amanda chided as she closed her eyes and tried to search him out only feeling the fear from a dozen armed guards as they ran towards where Sam’s cell was. There was blood on the walls and a few frozen bodies on the floor then a flash of blue and next thing she knew she was looking up into Sam’s blue eye, which was filled with sadness and rage. ”Where is she!”

Sam was now standing a top another guard his attention shifted as another body stirred briefly behind him as an ice spike rose up from the ground impaling they guys arm making it impossible for him to get away. ”Where IS SHE!” Sam yelled again grabbing the guy he was atop and slammed his chest back into the ground enough to knock the wind out of him. Amanda took over at this point the man laughed and responded in a somewhat higher pitched voice, “I’m right here Sam!” You’ve been looking for me? Do you miss me?” her connection was cut when she felt the mind of the man she was occupying go dead.

Sam had no qualms with what he was doing, mainly because he couldn’t think straight too many thoughts, the forefront of them being ‘What is real?’ and ‘Kill Amanda!’ Sam continued to rage as he turned his attention to the next armed guard who was still alive and yelling as he tried to pull his hand free. Sam dropped the body of the man with the now frozen shut throat and walked over to the other guard, ”I’M ONLY GONNA ASK ONCE!” Sam yelled again letting the spittle fly as he continued to let everyone who could hear him hear his pain. The man started to tear and mentioned something about a kid he had and Sam closed his eye and lifted the man, ”SO DID I!” and throw his body into the wall on the opposite side of the hallway where he went limp.

If this base still had the same layout he had a feeling where Amanda was hiding in her room just like she used to it only made sense if his prison was still the same room why wouldn’t hers? Sam took off running rounding another hall and then another shooting and stabbing and slashing his way to her red was all he could see with only small flashes of blue he hated the world right now and the one that tainted it. Rounding another hallway Sam noticed a pair of heavy metal doors shutting in the direction he was running Sam picked up the pace as a guard shot at him hitting him with a tranquilizer dart and another.

Sam was slowing now and his body was heavy, it was getting hard to keep going but he had to. To make everything clear on what was real. The doors closed shut just as he reached them he started to bang on them yelling and screaming because he knew Amanda was just on the other side laughing at him. Sam turned and decided to go another way when he noticed there was already some other guards six total shooting at him with the same darts. Sam took two steps forward and shot a beam of ice freezing two instantly. ”NOOOOOO! NOT YET AMANDA!!!!!!” Sam yelled out as he managed to close the distance and pounce on another guard punching him in the face once hard then the second one far less powerful till he collapsed.

Eye-lid getting heavy he saw her Amanda the one person he wanted nothing more than to make her life as miserable as his was now, smiling down at him. His head was getting fuzzy again, and then he saw her, Amanda’s image shifted and warped, ”Alexandra?” his eye shut and he was pinned by a few guards as Amanda called Sydney and ordered for more restraints.

Some time passed and Sam was strapped to a different bed in a far more secure room. Amanda looked through the much thicker glass and frowned, “I won’t let it happen again.” Amanda said knowing Sydney was somewhere behind her, “Good, if it does I won’t hesitate to put him down we can’t keep doing this I’m losing time and men on this and if we intend on doing what we planned he either needs to be working for us or dead. You know that.” Sydney said leaving the room with Amanda alone as she closed her eyes pressed her head on the glass and dived back into Sam’s mind where the dreams were already in full swing and from what she could tell Sam was none the wiser. The only recollection he had of the events that transpired was a very bad nightmare.
