The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Omen laughed and slid onto the bed with Syn, still sitting up.
"Afraid? No...not really. I just have bad habits with pretty girls." she said bluntly. "but you seem to have your head on straight and you don't at all seem to be easy to manipulate...with the mutation or not." Omen laughed.
She pulled a hair tie from her wrist and tied up as much of her hair as she could, the shorter strands falling in her face regardless.
"No you've sparked my interest evenfurther. What sorts of bad habits have you had?" Syn turned on her side to face Omen asn she tied up her hair. "Thank you for the compliment by the way."
Omen laughed. "Oh, wow." she cleared her throat and seemed to be thinking abou the best way to phrase things. Syn, she had to admit was making her a little nervous and the fact that she wasn't wearing very much clothing wasn't helping.
"I've had alot of one night stands...angry ex girlfriends....psycho ex boyfriends whose asses I've had to kick..." she shrugged. "At the moment, in terms of you, I'd rather not have you mad at me in a few days...excuse me i'm being too presumptuous in assuming I could even hurt your feelings.
"Why do you think I would be mad at you in a few days? I've had one night stands too but that's not what I'm hoping for." Syn pushed some of her hair behind her ear as she waited for Omen to make her next statement.
Syn gave a look of surprise as Omen called her on her last statement. She didn't think the lady would ask about it. "Well, I'd like to continue to get to know you that's for sure." She smiled brightly. "I'm just saying that I'm not looking or hoping for a one night stand. I guess I'd like to know what an actual relationship is like. I've never had one before and for some strange reason we seem to be clicking very well together."
Omen didn't laugh this time but she smiled. Syn's smile had filled her with a very warm feeling.
"I've never really had a serious relationship. I can't say i've been a good girlfriend either..hence all the anger. One chick broke my car...that's why I got a cycle.
"the car was my uncles anyways. It was stolen...guess I had that coming." she laughed.
Syn laughed again. She haden't laughed this much in a long time if ever. "Yeah well stuff like that happens I guess. Sorry to hear about your stolen car though." She pasued and thought for a moment. "So can ask why you say you haven't been a good girlfriend?"
Omen didn't want Syn to think badly of her. But honesty now was the best policy later and she really could use a friend at the moment.
"I wasn't really faithful...I was playing with people so they'd do what I want. You know how it is, when you're pretty people fall at your feet and a few are stupid enough to stay down there and crawl around after you. It's hard to not take advantage.
"the thing i regret is saying 'I love you' when I didn't mean it. I was never in love with any of them." she confessed.
"I know what you mean about toying with people. I've done it all my life. I even made my older sister do things that now have resulted in her and I wanting each other dead." Syn laid her head down on her pillow but still faced Omen.
"I've never said I love you to anyone ever, but part of me wants to know what actual love might feel like and to be with someone who understands me and I them."
Omen nodded. there was a certain delicacy about Syn that Omen felt herslef drawn to at that point. She reached out and ran a hand through the girl's hair.
"You're going to find the right person Syn. anyone who misses out is a fool." Omen said, a knot forming in her chest. she swallowed and tried to rid herself of it.
The feeling of Omen's fingers going through Syn's hair was relaxing and gentle. Her voice was soothing and seeemd to have a hint of caring as well. "I hope so. I know most of the others around here view me as an evil little demon girl. Yes, that's another side of me but I'm not always like that." Syn started to feel something very strange beginning to happen. A single tear ran down her cheek. She immediatley sat up and scooped it up with the tip of her index finger. "What the hell is this? I've never done this before. Wh am I crying?"
Omen's heavy dark lashes closed a bit as a softer look came over her face. She was getting slightly over the nervous feeling now that Syn was crying.
"Oh...um.." she began awkwardly and, not knowing what to say she leaned forward and wrapped her arms around the girl. "Come on, don't cry....we were getting along so well...what's wrong?"
Now embraced in Omen's arms Syn felt the warmth of her body and the softness of her skin. She wiped her eyes dry and looked up at Omen with a smile. "You're right. We were getting along great. I'd very much like to continue that if you do." Syn laid her head on Omen's shoulder. "I'm sorry about that."
Omen kissed her on the forehead instinctlvely. "No, it's fine. I mean...I'm glad you're so comfortable because you didn't strike me as the crying type.
"Are..you okay? Is there anything I can do?" Omen wasn't good at things like this and it showed that she knew that.
