The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was evening, yet in Times Square it didn't seem to stop the ever hustle and bustle of the evening Traffic jam. And like always the pollution, noise density and annoyed New Yorkers were ever present no matter what the time of day.
Luna couldn't seem to wrap her thoughts around because of it.
Sure she had been living in New York for quite some time now, from the Mansion to her new home at Mondragon Labs. Even so she knew as soon as she had came here for the first time Times Square. That she would never get used to the loud noises in which the city permitted. This of course got the twelve year old thinking.
Thinking about the minds of humans, why they relied on technology so much that if taken away it would cause them to go insane? Everywhere the teen looked she saw teens on their iphones, Blackberries, even adults had them an the odd adult worker had an iPod in hand.
People in their cars were playing the latest DS or PSP game and through all of this, if one thing was taken from them they would go in a fit! Now Luna was worried about herself, she was starting to think as though they were different from each other- that humans and mutants were different races-
No! They were not! Humans- Mutants were just an advanced type of human- No that wasn't right either! But then a gain, why was she worrying? She was just a kid... a mutant kid, but a kid no less... she had her whole life ahead of her! Yet...
It was all so new to her...
She was finally seeing things differently... And it scared her. Here Luna was sitting in a small cafe eating some shurbert and she couldn't think straight! Leaning back she sighed and spoke aloud. "Are humans and mutants really so different?" Maybe they were maybe they weren't it didn't matter afterall-
Ah this city, this marvelous city, there truly was nothing like it in the whole wide world. If anyone knew this to be a fact it was Zane, he had seen a good some of it. Nothing reminded him of his good old London like the busy streets of New York City. Always moving, breathing, reacting, the human equivalent to a giant ant farm. It was as though the city itself was alive, as though it to had a beating heart. Rhythm, that was the best way to put the feeling Wish had when he was in this gorgeous town. It had it's own rythm, it's own unique and perfect flow. A flow so magnificent that even our parkour obsessed friend would be able to respect it.
What was it though, what exactly was it that made this "flow" so incredible, so intoxicating. Was it the originality in each person, the fact that every soul walking these streets, reacting and interacting with all it's facets, was a unique individual. Mind boggling when one really gave it some thought. That each and every person that crossed his eyes, path, whatever, had their very own lives as well. There own families, possessions, histories, hopes and dreams, there own everything that seperated them from the person beside them. Not simply place holders or fillers in the crowed like so many unnecessary condiments on a cheeseburger.
No, not at all, they were fully capable beings. This is what did it, this is why the city was so d*mn awesome. It was the people that made it that way. The variety of differences that existed made every encounter a fresh one. Nothing would be done over again in New York, not a single meeting. One day you could meet a man from China, the next a country boy from Tennessee. War veterans and protesters alike would share subway trains as Catholics and protestants boarded the same bus's.
It was marvelous what this city could do to one's perspective through such things. Nowhere else in the country was there so much opportunity for change, so many chances to find and re-find oneself among the crowds. Each person had not only the capability but most likely the opportunity to completely change how you viewed life in general. If that wasn't the most beautiful thing that ever exited, then Zane didn't know what was.
Of course, our titular hero was worried about much more then the sociological aspects of New York right now, he was simply trying to not die. Jumping from car to car during bumper to bumper traffic may have been a bad idea, as people tend to get pissed when you jump on their vehicles. Even more so when you realize that even in the worst kind of jam up, they have to move some time. This is where Zane was right about now.
Jumping off the back of a hummer onto a concord going around five miles an hour. As he landed the car would speed to twenty, sending him nearly flying off. Re-cooping his balance enough in the moment to launch to another car. A Mercedes to be exact and how lucky was he in that to land on it. Now he was most definitely car surfing in style. Breaking down in a little dance, he would fail to notice that the owner of the car was gettting out and walking towards him, wooden bat in hand.
"HEY YOU, SCREWBALL, GET DA HELL OF MY CAR, YAH GOT DAT, I'M GONNGA MURDERLIZE Y AH"
The large new yorker with the wooden club would scream with a thick new york accent. Maybe he wasn't as lucky as he thought he was to land on such a car. Pointing at a building he would should.
"HEY LOOK OVER THERE, IT'S A DISTRACTION
Then proceed to run like hell past the man. Body being flung up and down as he vaulted over car after car. Nearly being struck a hand full of times by people trying to do nothing more then make their morning commutes. Deep down, he felt kinda bad about denting there cars, but if he wanted to live though he would need to hustle up and get out of there fast. Especially when one considers that the man wanting nothing more then his death, was mere meters behind him.
The chase would ensue for a couple of blocks and take some turns, but in the end there was no way the fat man could keep up with Zane's athleticism and acrobatic ability. Fading out into the horizon, his screams dying down with him as he passed out on the side of the road. It was pretty much just as Wish had predicted when he began running from him. Although he'd be lying if he didn't say he was a bit afraid or that it felt good to be chased like that.
Finishing up by running from the center of the street of the top of a car, then administering a tucked double front flip of the roof and over a small restaurant like fence. Landing it dead on this is where he would stand. Looking up at the sign he would realize he was right outside a cafe. This was perfect as he was finished and this seemed to be just the place to grab a bite to eat after near death encounters and adventurous urban gymnastics.
Gripping the crimson red door handle to "Le Sherbet And Dreams Cafe", he would open it and prepare himself for a delicious treat. Walking in, each footstep making a stepping noise. The cafe was nearly silent, obviously not a busy day. Quite weird for such a beautiful city, he hadn't generally seen such a vacant establishment before. Waiting a moment for the man in front of him to finish ordering his spring green pistachio sherbet. He would then proceed to order a lavender tinted wild berry blitz.
Tongue licking a small sampling off the time, quite delicious, it was just as he wanted it. All he needed to do now was find somewhere to sit. Probably not the hardest thing in the world considering that only around six or so people were in the building built for around thirty or forty. He was never really good at making annoying decisions like this though. Luckily, just then one small girl, seated directly to his left side, would speak out in a normal tone.
"Are humans and mutants really so different?"
He was quite surprised to hear this from such a young girl. Was that really what kids thought about these days. Wasn't there time for them to be children before tackling such burdening questions. Questions that plagued the mind's of philosophers and politicians alike. This was what she was wondering, him being the guy he is, figured he might as well try and help the confused youth figure it out.
"Depen's on oo yah askin my dear. If you don't mind me sayin', I really don' tink de'res much of a difference at'all . We'ze all people, yeah know, we all bleed, we all cry, we all smile, sept for dem emo kids, man de'y freak me out."
He would say this as he pulled out a chair opposite to the young girl. The last part would be accompanied by a mock shudder and a laugh. Hopefully the gal wouldn't take to much offense to him joining her in her self exploratory conversation. He did figure that if all things went pleasantly enough this could work out to be a rather fine conversation. If not, well it wasn't like he had anything to lose. Before now this day had simply been the same old, same old, now he really had a chance to learn something, to change something, to really prove the reason that this city was so amazing and then it began.

Luna blinked, she was so lost in thought that she didn't realize she spoke aloud! When she pulled herself back to a sitting position [As she was leaning back on the booth chair] she then noticed the odd speaking man before her eating a frosty treat of his own. He spoke with a weird accent that much Luna could notice at the moment, as her mind was still trying to figure out his words then dissect them and then try to think of a valuable response to said words.
She looked downcast for a moment a look of subtle sadness on her as she bit her lip confused. "I know... But even so- I mean I have been told before or atleast I've heard, that Mutants are superior to Humans, and before that I heard that we are no different and just equal with abilities normal people don't have..." She sighed ignoring the part on "emos" for the moment as her mood was anything but humorous. "I'm just thinking-" Luna paused before playing with her spoon in her ice cream like treat as she swirled the melting contents around.
"If we're all the same- then why do we have these- powers which can take something so precious from you?" Memories began to surface of the day she acquired her mutant powers and killed Owen... It seems her old scars would not heal so quickly as she wished they would... "Oh. I'm sorry.. I really shouldn't be talking like this.. I mean I don't even know your name!" She didn't seem to panicked she just seemed nervous as she stopped playing with the spoon and glanced nervously at the man. "I'm Luna Highland." She spoke abrupt before falling silent once more.
"I know... But even so- I mean I have been told before or atleast I've heard, that Mutants are superior to Humans, and before that I heard that we are no different and just equal with abilities normal people don't have..."
The young girl would speak, her voice sad yet confused. She was truly perplexed by the problem at hand. Her dilemma, the value of a man against that of a mutant. Such a question, one that would indeed entangle some of the greatest minds this world has ever seen. A question with an answer not based in fact but in variables beyond the quantifications of man. Such a question that even approaching to answer it requires some type of pre-set opinions.
Although, this question aside, the ever bigger ponderance in Zane's mind was not of the puzzle at hand but why a girl of such an age was even speculating upon it. In his day children didn't generally partake in such depthful and insight based discussion much so solitary musing. It was quite mind boggling that someone so young could comprehend such an intricate and convoluted catechism. Even Wish in his twenty four years of traveling and learning had just scratched upon such idea's within his own mind. This girl was unequivocally lost though, so he being the man he was, would do his best to help her figure it out.
"If we're all the same- then why do we have these- powers which can take something so precious from you? "Oh. I'm sorry.. I really shouldn't be talking like this.. I mean I don't even know your name! "I'm Luna Highland."
The girl would say as she finished, a slight pause in between the first sentence and the second as she seemed distracted. An even more nervous look given as she gave her name. As she spoke not only did he listen but he began to think for a moment of what he would say. In situations like this he would much rather veer towards helping her then saying something gentle that she would want to here. In this case though, hopefully, it seemed that both things were indeed one and the same.
"Don' worry yah sweet head darlin', it'z no problem at all. To be quite frank I enjoy such discussion. Really gets da brain pumpin yah know. Also my names Zane Bliss, most a my friends jus' call me Wish doh."
He would cross his arms on the table before lying his head down on them and extending on hand.
"Good to meet you Luna Highland. I do feel where yah comin from on that last poin' a yours. We do 'ave these powers and it does make us a bit differen' don' it. Being differen' an bein superior are two whole athor tings doh. Now We're born wit de'ze gifts righ', so we didn't right earn em or work for em. So why woul' somefin from birth make us any betta de'n someone wit out it. It's like people born wit no legs or arms or udder such tings. Me and you got arms, that's a trufe, just like we got de'ze powers. Da question is doh, do de'ze arms make us any betta den the lad or gal wiff out em."
He hoped his elaboration in the subject would have at least helped the girl a bit. Last thing he wanted was to be of no use to such a confused little lass. He just prayed he had been write in guessing she was a mutant like him. It wasn't a big deal for Zane to let others no, but if she was a human, she could take some serious offense to him referring to her otherwise. Finishing his opinion on it, his eyes would stay on the girl. Not piercing her, but attempting to comfort her. People had told him he had soft eyes before, looked like it was time to put there words to the test.

Luna quirked an eyebrow curious for a moment, and an odd gesture coming from her. Yet maybe she was forcing herself to grow up to quickly? She was only twelve yet the situations and experiences she had been in has propelled her mind into a more "adult" state of thought. She wasn't an A Grade Genius now or anything but she was thinking with a more advanced thought pattern, more so then those her age normally. Unless well they were geniuses... "Nice to met you Zane Bliss- Er, Wish."
She blinked and then noticed that he sherbet was now a sloppy mess. Sighing she pushed it away before looking at his hand. She smiled slightly though it felt half forced. "I don't really have a nickname or Codename or anything, but I like to pretend I'm some uber strong mutant with the title 'The Doll Mistress Luna'! Sometimes." She blushed a bit scratching her lower jaw in embarrassment as she sounded a bit more childish then usual. Seldom has she been enjoying herself, thoughts on her "betrayal" on leaving the X-men Mansion without a word to anyone and eventually joining up with Kabal...
It could of been worse she supposed as she could of ended up at the Order like Seizure did... Her head was beginning to hurt all of this thinking... People usually said don't waste your time thinking at your age or something close to it. Just have fun. But Luna couldn't seem to do it and found life a lot more difficult because she was forcing herself to be older- in mind even if her body was young, her mind was maturing way too fast.
"I guess.. your right... though I don't entirely understand what your saying, I understand that we are just like humans.. in sense- I mean we ARE human but some people human or mutant won't accept it..." Luna sighed as she store at his eyes feeling a sense of calm wash over her as she smiled a little. his guy, "Wish" was a nice guy and had soft eyes. Luna didn't feel so troubled at the moment when looking at them.
"You... have nice eyes Wish!" She smiled then blushed and looked away embarrassed once more of her sudden outburst. Fidgeting a bit in her booth. Looking around her eyes landed on his ice cream- "Erm.. Wish sir? Your sherbet..." She said pointing seeing as it was melting slowly...
It would appear as though his words had some type of effect on her. Notably because one of her eyebrows would cock up. A look as though she somewhat understood what he was saying. Zane really hoped that she did, there was more then enough radicals on both sides for there to be another. Through his world travels he had seen everything from anti mutant lynchings to anti human fire bombs, never was there any joy to be shared, even within the respective camps.
"Nice to met you Zane Bliss- Er, Wish."I don't really have a nickname or Codename or anything, but I like to pretend I'm some uber strong mutant with the title 'The Doll Mistress Luna'! Sometimes."
A small smile would form on her face, adorable but slightly awkward. He would also take notice of her serbert soup. Sucked having your ice cream melt right in front of you while you listened to someone. The young girl would then to something that surprised him a bit, she would speak as though she was someone her age. He find the entire thing to be quite cute, borderline intoxicatingly so. Like watching a group of kindergartners give a puppet show, but doing so while giving a college level science seminar.
"I guess.. your right... though I don't entirely understand what your saying, I understand that we are just like humans.. in sense- I mean we ARE human but some people human or mutant won't accept it..."
She knew what she was talking about for sure and obviously had experiance of some kind dealing with it. Saddening it was to believe though, a girl of around perhaps eleven or twelve and already having to accept that discrimination existed heavily on both sides. It was quite despairing to here that such a girl had already gone through at least something in that field of trauma. Zane had seen the consequences of such actions, even for him as a full grown man, they were hard to watch.
"You... have nice eyes Wish!"
She would then say with a slight blush, a blush that was immediately filled with complete embarrassment as she turned away quickly. It was obvious his eyes had, had the effect that he wanted. Her guard had been taken down slightly and it looked like she was warming up to him a little. This was exactly what he wanted, there was no point in her feeling as though she had to remain mature while talking to Zane. If he wanted anything, it was that she had the chance and the want to be a kid around him.
"Erm.. Wish sir? Your sherbet..."
The girl would then point out something quite crucial, his serbert was melting right before his eyes. Although it still had quite the ways to go before ending up like her soupy bowl of goop. Instead of eating it though he would push it over to her. He would be much happier letting a kid have his serbert then he would be eating it in front of her like some kind of glutton. Besides it wasn't her fault hers melted while he was talking, this was the least he could do for her.
"Actu'lly my dear, I'd prefer if you had it i'stead. I'm startin ta get full anyways, had a big lunch yah know. You know, er right, de're are mutan's and humans alike dat 'ate eachother wit every bit of demselves. I've seen tings wit me own eye's dat I couldn' right believe. You know what I learned doh, that it's de're problem if dey wanna tink dat way.
Yah see, you can' let dat kind of 'liteism and 'atred fill yah sou' or you can go on livin yah life ow you wanna live it. Yah know, dat de're da key darlin, livin life in a way dat makes you 'appy. I mean if you ain't got 'appiness what do yah got. Might I add, that you too are quite gorgeous love and I'm pleasured to make your aquantince"
He would say the last part as he kissed her hand. Not out of lust, most definitely, but out of a kindness for the girl. It never hurt to make sure that every girl felt beautiful and he would hate to let this girls compliment to his eye's go unreturned. Not only that but for a young lady she was quite cute and in ten years he was sure she would become a gorgeous woman. For now though, he certainly hoped that some of his insight had gone to making her feel a little better, at the very least his sorbet would.

"T-Thanks!" Luna blinked and said suddenly as she blushed once more again out of embarrassment which was something she had been doing for a while now. She took the fruit flavored icy treat and began to eat it slowly so not to get a brain freeze. Even so she kept her hearing on Zane as she nodded after taking a small spoonful of the sherbert.
"I see.. You must of seen a lot of the world then... I would like that someday.." She put the spoon down as Wish said she was gorgeous and kissed her hand, causing her blush to rise tenfold! "T-Thankyou! Um..." She didn't know what to say now and seemingly lost her voice for a moment, before she smiled gently still blushing like a tomato however, but now she didn't feel so stressed about things as Luna was calmed down now.
"I see.. You must of seen a lot of the world then... I would like that someday.."
It seemed as though the gal was stir crazy, just like him. At the very least she was inclined to adventure around. He had been the same way when he was her age. That was the time he would spend traveling around the metropolitan city of London though. Without a way to leave it wasn't till he became an adult that he could successfully abandon the city and the few former friends he had to pursue his dream of traveling the globe.
"Well don' give up on dat dream m'dear. See when I waz er age I 'ad da same fant'seys. Wantin' ta travel da 'hole 'orld and all. I 'ad some 'llemas though dat got in me way. I din't give up doh and en da time 'ahs right I made my 'scape from god ol Lon'an. 'opped me self onta a trai' and wen' whever da wind woul take me. So darlin' moral a da story iz 'ou keep 'oldin on to yah dreams and believe me, day'll come true.
He said it as convincingly as he could, his arms folded on the table as he stared into her eyes. He voice slightly hushed to make the entire statement more personal. The last thing he wanted was for this girl to lose sight of her dreams. It already seemed as though the fanciful spark of whimsy that must children had the luxury of enjoying was already beginning to dim in her. As though the oppressive and almost relentless bludgeoning of the adult world towards ones hopes and fantasies had already begun to wear on her.
There was another thing he pondered, what was this gals mutant power. Usually he would assume from such a young girl that it was still some half developed quirk like creating small sparks or growing a unicorn horn. Then again this little gal was much farther along, especially in comparison to other mutant children he had met in his travels. Besides he was of the belief that ones powers, at least to a slight degree, had an effect on ones inner self. Their psyche so to say, not so much their personality, but their being as a whole. Suffice to say he was gaining quite the interest in learning more about this girl. Whether it was her more the adult thoughts, the fact she was a mutant or just her adorable blush. Either way he would decide to learn a little bit more about her.
'Ey darlin, dis 'ogurt place iz startin' to get ol'. 'Ow bout me and 'ou go on an a'venture. Trus' me it'll be a blas'.
He said with a slight nod of his head as he stood up from his chair and walked towards the door. Turning as he opened the door he would gesture with his hand for her to come on. He was gonna show her the time of her life.
