The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was her second morning in the Town, and the exhaustion and soreness from her first night's "activities" with Saturn had finally worn off. Spending time in the Town was a great way to get some free food, a good lay, and a comfortable sleep in a real bed, but by the second day, the feelings of complacency and familiarity began creeping up on Rebecca.
Complacency and familiarity terrified Rebecca. If you grew too familiar or even in love with something, the universe would make sure it was promptly be taken from you by a fanatic cult devoted to a unicorn that granted it immortality in exchange for loyalty in creating an apocalypse and abandoning its girlfriend.
...or something like that.
Saturn was still asleep, which even he had to know would be Rebecca's time to slip out. The new clothes her husband bought for her were laid out on the table, so she slipped the new blouse and skirt on, enjoying the rare sensation of clean cloth on her skin.
Rebecca quietly opened the door out into the Town, hoping no one would be up early enough to bother her so she could get out of town quickly.

In recent years, Ginas’ tasks about the town were limited to a number of protection-oriented gigs. She mostly kept to the skies, switching with a small handful of other airborne mutants in making sure the perimeter was secure. She would then circle back, and have some time to herself. And time to herself usually meant—you guessed it, more looking-out for people. Sure, there were better things to do. Gina had scrounged up a few books in her spare time, but once the sun went down, there wasn’t much light to read by. Scrounging for clothes was always a blast, but there was a shortness of sewing tools necessary for modifying clothes. Thus, Gina did what came naturally to her. Protected her kin.
She’d already been by Jorge’s tent, by Miles’ residence, and by Zelek’s. She was now in the midst of checking-on all the Red brothers, as she liked to call them. Gina never went in to visit, just stopped and listened. If everything sounded as though things were in-check, she’d continue onward. It wasn’t stalking, Gina had to constantly remind herself. It was being thorough in your endeavors to protect the towns’ inhabitants. Even if you only visited specific individuals.
This last day, Saturn had a guest. It didn’t take a lot of brain power to figure out who. It was her. Gina had departed to make the rest of her rounds—visiting the rest of the brothers, Markus, and then beginning at the beginning of the list again—before returning to Saturn’s residence. There was a quiet rustling going on, yet slumbering sounds that persisted. The unfavorable woman was leaving. She opened the door and peered around cautiously, and Gina thinned her eyes, keeping low to the roof on the opposite side of the road.
Her wings pressed to her back, Gina didn’t rise until Rebecca was making her retreat. Her eyes thinned, flashing in the moonlight.
“Abandoning him, just like the last time, huh?” Gina spoke up, making no attempt to be quiet. Yeah, Rebecca, she said internally, you were just caught. Gina jumped fluidly off of the roof, surveying the redhead with a wry smirk, “Not even a hello for an old friend, but you can make time for your sugar-daddy?”
Gina didn’t hold Rebecca in high regards, to say the least. Even despite the craziness that Agnes had going on, the gargoyle could still cope with Agnes—she couldn’t cope with Becca. There was something about her that just left a bitter taste in the gargoyle’s mouth.

Rebecca heard a familiar voice coming from above, which limited who the voice could belong to. As expected, the grey girl, one of Rebecca's former best friends, looked upon her with disgust. It was obvious that at least some of the Town knew about her and Saturn's casual arrangement. Most probably did not care; to each his own, after all. Gina would be different though. Maybe it was because she was her sister.
It was too early in the morning to bother justifying Gina's accurate accusations, so instead Rebecca would have to settle for being catty. "Ah'm sorry, what was that? Ah couldnae hear you from way up there on yer pedestal."
Rebecca took two steps to her nearest metal pillar and rested her back against it. "Also: sugar daddy? Really?" It was such a silly-sounding phrase, Rebecca had to point it out.

Gina’s tail curled and flicked as she trailed after her, and when Rebecca paused to lean against her pillar, Gina closed in. She kept a reasonable distance, her arms laced, and bearing a continued frown.
“Well, obviously you could, else you wouldn’t have known to retort, cheeky,” Gina pointed out dryly, “But I’m down here now.”
Be afraid. Be very afraid. Though she was only five-foot-one, Gina did her best to look intimidating. Ever since she’d leapt off the roof, her wings had been tensed, slightly puffed to make her seem a little bigger, a little more ominous.
“And yeah, sugar daddy,” Gina reiterated, “Because that’s exactly what he is to you. All you do is use him.”

Rebecca could thing of no reply for Gina's first comment. She took Rebecca's figurative quip about Gina's moral high ground and replied literally. She was actually not sure of Gina understood the snark or not, so she let it go.
Gina probably tried to make her last comment hurt Rebecca, or make her realize how terrible a person she was being. Maybe if Rebecca had any real emotions left in her, the words would hit home, but she was less human than Gina, wings and all, so the shot at her character seemed laughable.
Rebecca stood straight in response to Gina clearly standing big and intimidating. "Use? Ah come by tae have my fill o' food an' shelter, and in return, Saturn gets to get his fill of me." A slight grin came over an otherwise blank face. "Out in the wastes, we call that trading, darlin." The exchange of goods and/or services: even in the post-apocalypse, capitalism lived on.

“It’s not a fair trade,” Gina growled, flashing fang as she retorted. She glared back at Rebecca’s grin—had she been a cat, she might have bristled up, just then, or arched her spine preemptively, “Room and board, a full stomach, and fresh clothes” she kicked dirt in Rebecca’s direction, a blatant show of disrespect, “—and for what, I ask you that? Saturn, getting his fill of you.”
Gina scoffed, bristling faintly. She’d sat back for a while now, let Rebecca have her fun with one of the Red brothers, but things got old, and they got old very quickly.
“When you leave tonight, that will be the last time you depart from this town,” Gina said tightly, “You will not come back here. Find yourself somewhere else—someone else—but stop with this nonsense of coming around whenever it suits you. Show some self-respect.”
It was Ginas’ protective instinct at their worst. These were her cohorts, and this was her town. Rebecca was unnecessary collateral that needed to be handled.
“You leave, you leave for good,” Gina reiterated, “Or you remain here, and contribute. Don’t take advantage of my family.”

So it took three years, but Gina had grown a backbone to go with that tough skin of hers. She kicked dirt, she spoke her piece, and she made a clear line in the sand: Rebecca was no longer welcome in her town. Something bothered Gina so much about Rebecca and Saturn's arrangement.
Gina spoke her piece; it was Rebecca's turn now. Rebecca puffed up and took a step closer to Gina. "Well well, where to begin? First of all, if you ever took me for a spin, you'd know Ah'm well worth room and board." There was annoyance in Rebecca's voice, but it was kept low. Volume was not as useful as venom.
"Secondly, Ah'm pretty sure the Town was s'posed to be a place for anyain who seeks a safe place. Ah may come here an' annoy you with my presence, bit Ah dornt cause any trouble." Rebecca could feel the muscles in her body tensing up as she came toe-to-clawed toe with Gina. "If Ah want tae come back, Ah will. My husband lives here," she added, the words "my" and "husband" having sharp points.
"An' where dae you get off telling me what Ah can an' cannae dae? You arenae the moral police. Saturn is an' adult an' sae am Ah." Rebecca was consciously keeping her voice low now, with the urge to shout rising. "Hoo we share each other is our damned business. It works for both of us, sae if you want tae lay down the law on a marriage, get yer own f**king husband."
Rebecca motioned to turn away, knowing that there was no reason for her to stay there longer, but one last comment bubbled up from somewhere deep within, so she turned back, glared at Gina right in the eyes, and let it erupt from her throat. "Stop trying tae protect a fake family coz your sister abandoned us fer Sebastian!"
Her voice was no longer low. It was the first time in a long time that Rebecca had screamed at anything besides emptiness. Saturn was a heavy enough sleeper that he would not have heard her, but what was said was out there now, and her stare did not unlock from Gina's eyes.

Righteous indignation roiled in Gina’s stomach. At least the “fair trade” comment bore a bit of sting to it. As Rebecca moved in and puffed up, Gina jutted her chin out towards her, baring her teeth at her. Gina had spent her entire life looking up to look people in the eyes. Sizing her up didn’t scare her like it frightened those who were used to towering over others.
“Sure,” Gina snapped, blatantly disbelieving. Her tail flicked more irately now, her expression challenging the redhead before. Then came the second portion of Rebecca’s argument. Wasn’t the town a haven? She’d come back if she wanted to.
“Our town’s a haven to those who need it,” Gina explained, her tone tight, “You don’t. You come here when it suits you, if you fancy seeing your “husband” this month—“ Gina even included air quotes around the phrase. Yes, she was in her full glory this evening, “—But you obviously don’t need this support and aren’t giving back in any way, so there isn’t much a point in you sticking around.”
The third portion of Rebecca’s argument rolled around fluidly, and Gina returned to her smug expression, lips thinning over a hostile smirk. Someone had to be Rebecca’s conscience. If she even had any left, it was fragmented now. Her arguments was spiraling downward, talking about how if Gina wanted to mandate the ins-and-outs of their relationship, she should get her own husband. A sharp retort rose fast within her throat, but it was squelched-out by Rebecca’s final verbal blow.
Gina snapped.
On their own accord, her hands flew up and connected with Beccas’ shoulders, shoving her back roughly. The contact was brief, but bore power behind it, enough to send Becca reeling backwards, if she wasn't braced for it. Rebecca could whine and complain about how someone was lecturing you about doing the right thing, huff as she pointed-out that Gina wasn't the "moral police", but when she brought Agnes up, she had to have expected to get a reaction. Gina had been indignant before, but now she was pissed. She stepped back, her wings fluttering once, her entire form tight with the pent-up anger.
“The town is my family now,” Gina snarled, “I don’t give a care in the world if you play house with one of the Abyssi, but when your actions threaten my family, don’t expect me to sit by and watch it happen. Unlike you, I don’t step-in when it’s convenient, and leave when it suits my whims.”
Gina’s tone had been gradually climbing back into a shout from its previous, smug tones, but now it dropped, dangerously low. It was apparent that she was speaking of both Rebecca’s presence in the town, and of Agnes. Fists clenched, Gina got in Rebecca’s face, practically nose-to-nose, daring her to strike her, daring her to lash out. Give me a reason to punch you right here, right now.
“Keep Agnes out of it,” Gina hissed, “Don’t you talk like you know anything about her anymore. Because you don't.”

Rebecca felt the shove of Gina's anger, and she was caught by surprise. It was one thing for the girl to give her lip and be aggressive, but Rebecca did not anticipate Gina actually getting physical. She took two steps back, but she stood her ground.
And now Gina was on the offensive, moving back in close. She ranted about the town being her family, and somewhere deep within she knew Gina needed that to be true. She could almost feel Gina's nose making contact with her own when Agnes was finally addressed and put off limits.
Rebecca did not back down. If there was a millimeter of space left to move in, she took it. "Ah ain't causing your family trouble. Sorry one of your kin has a taste for troublesome women.
"An' fer another thing, who are you tae tell me what Ah do or dornt need?" Rebecca had to send constant signals to her arms. Don't punch her. Don't punch her. Don't punch her. "Ah dornt come here on a whim. Ah come here because Ah need it, regardless of how long Ah stay." It was a rare moment for Rebecca to admit any signs of weakness, but she was beginning to unravel now.
Rebecca returned Gina's shove, but quickly closed the gap and pressed her finger at the center of Gina's collarbone, not to hurt, but to make a connection. "An' dornt talk tae me aboot Agnes. Ah dornt want tae know her now, an' you know why?" Rebecca's voice escalated with every word, filling with the remains of real emotion left at the bottom of Rebecca's barrel: hurt. "Coz Ah knew Agnes, an' she was th' one person Ah loved, an' when Ah loved her most--" Rebecca's shaking hand grabbed Gina's shoulder, so Gina could sense the tremors through her body, "when Ah needed her most, she chose tae help end the world and leave me!"
Rebecca finally realized how far she had let herself go, opening up to Gina, and she was terrified. She pulled her hand away, panicked, and lunged forward, planting a manic kiss on Gina's grey lips.

“You aren’t doing it any good either,” Gina countered tightly. She held some form of authority here, didn’t she? She was Jorge’s second-in-command, and Jorge was the one they looked to for guidance. That had to mean that Gina bore some form of power, too… right? For the sake of the argument, she would pretend it was so.
Gina was telling Rebecca what she needed and what she didn’t need because she held authority, because she was angry, and she could, so there! Gina’s former friend came scantily, and then would leave for long periods of time. No schedules whatsoever, on whims. She was surviving just fine, out there, and came back sporadically and seemed to be doing just fine. She certainly didn’t seem like someone who needed the town. Or anyone else.
Rebecca retorted, telling her not to talk about Agnes to her.
“If you didn’t want to hear about her,” Gina interjected, her voice low and still tight, “Shouldn’t’ve brought her up, sweetheart.”
Rebecca’s tone took a new light, her hand touching her neck, her voice full of hurt, their eyes locked. The only thing her mismatched gaze would find was a brown-eyed-gaze that was unyielding like parched earth. No sob stories were to be heard tonight. Yet, as much as Rebecca didn’t want to hear about Agnes, she certainly had a good deal to say about her. How Agnes was the one she’d truly loved, deeply loved, and how Agnes had thrown it in her face by helping to end the world.
Truth be told, Gina was frustrated. She knew what Agnes had done, and knew that it had warped her beyond recognition. Gina still hoped. Still maintained faith in her sister… perhaps, maybe, she’d have a second-chance. After all, with the world over now, the deed was done. You couldn’t ruin ruins. You could only rebuild. Rebuild, or give-up. Dwell on what happened yesterday.
Gina wanted to yell at Rebecca, tell her all that was wrong with her and her point of view. But her shouts were swallowed up by a rather unexpected kiss. There was a moment where Gina was stunned, didn’t fight back. But then, when she realized Rebecca was kissing her, Gina retaliated, quickly prying-off what she’d deemed to be a deranged redhead.
Gina pried herself free, and wiped her mouth, her face set in disbelief, confusion and annoyance. How was that for faitfulness! That was like cheating twice-over… first on the girlfriend she’d abandoned, and then on her pretend-husband. Scolding Rebecca about Agnes could wait. There were other matters at-hand.
“Really?” Gina demanded, “Really?! What the hell was that for?”

Rebecca was actually surprised at how long it took Gina to separate herself from her kiss-assailant. To be fair, it was probably the last thing Gina expected would happen, especially with Rebecca losing her cool.
Rebecca looked down at the ground. Her break down was over, and her temperament had cooled down. The glimmers of real emotion were gone again, in her expression and in her voice. "Ah dornt love Saturn. Ah cannae love Saturn. Bit Ah can sleep with him. Hell, you're being kind of a bitch, bit Ah can kiss you." Honesty was honesty, after all.
"There have been times when Ah wish Ah did love Saturn. Sometimes it's nice." Rebecca turned to look back at the door she had so carefully closed. "Know what happened the first time Ah started feeling close tae Saturn?" Rebecca's heart sank. "Agnes flashed in my mind."
Rebecca turned to face Gina again, but not eye to eye. Now, she set her gaze somewhere near Gina's knee. "Ah started thinking 'bout how Saturn would leave me, an' how it would break me again. Every time Ah felt close tae him, Ah would think about that until Ah stopped feeling close tae him."
Rebecca wanted to take a step closer, but there was a clear divide between her and Gina. "Ah'm numb. Ah can be wi' Saturn an' feel nothing. Ah can sleep with a stranger for water an' feel nothing." She could feel the word whore being branded on her by Gina's eyes. "Ah can kiss you and feel nothing."
She was a whore, and she could not even find it in her to hate herself for it. "Ah need tae come back coz Saturn understands me an' doesnae hate me for it. He doesnae mind how broken Ah am." He was well aware of the things she had done and the things she would do, and he cared for her all the same. If the Town was a safe place, it was only thanks to him.

Gina folded her arms. Now they were back to square one, why Gina had confronted Rebecca in the first place—she didn’t and couldn’t love Saturn. Her emotions were a ploy.
“I’ve got every right to be a b*tch,” Gina said frankly, shifting her weight to one foot and leaning back on it. The confessions continued, and Gina maintained the same posture, the same expression, and the same attitude. What was this, anyways? Some kind of pity party? Gina looked disdainfully aside, but when Rebecca drew in, Gina looked closer. Rebecca wouldn’t get a kiss, this time. Now, Gina’s guard was back-up.
Rebecca read Ginas’ eyes like an open book. She didn’t hold her former friend in very high regard, to say the least.
“Broken,” Gina articulated, a flicker of emotion flitting across her face. It looked like disbelief. The gargoyle inclined her head, then shook it. She serious doubted that. All of that—did Saturn understand that? That he was getting played like a harp? And he didn’t care, at all? How could anyone not care about getting used? And the broken line… everyone was messed-up, after all that happened. Some people were just trying to milk it more than others. It was cruel, but it was true.
Gina rubbed her forehead.
“It’s sad,” Gina murmured, letting her hammering heart settle down in her chest, “That the one Agnes had probably held most dear-” Gina shifted her gaze towards Rebecca. Her sister’s former girlfriend. Boy, did that leave a funny taste in her mouth, now, “Is among the many that turned her back on Agnes. Given-up on her.”
Gina laughed faintly, began to turn away from Rebecca.
“It isn’t about you,” Gina pointed-out, “I doubt Agnes did all that she did because of you, Rebecca. None of this—none of this is about me, or you. It’s about us. The collective. We have to survive, we must persist. Not you. Not me. We.”
Except, not for Rebecca. For Rebecca, it was only about her. That’s why Gina didn’t like her here. Self-preservation. No concern for others. She was a loose cannon. A threat. To them all.
But staring back at her former friend, Gina wondered if any of it resonated within her? Or was she too dense to resonate with any significant words? A lost cause.
A harsh shove of a door with a large angry red hand sent a woobly door off its hinges and crashed across the way with a wild racket into the night, if the neighbors weren’t awake listening to a hushed argument, they be wondering what the heck was going on now.
Saturn lumbered over with his eyes fixed on Gina, slow simmering rage, part of him wanted to reach out and destroy, if he was his Neanderthal of a brother Jupiter he would have.
He was accustomed to letting Becca handle her own problems, She shared what she wanted d to with him, what she was ready to. Who knows what damage him hearing that conversation had done to him, much less to their relationship, now that Rebecca knew he had heard it.
Rebecca always seemed pleased that she could leave without good byes, so he let her think he slept heavy. He would never admit he was awake the moment she moved away from him, the second she was out of bed. For her sake he laid there and didn’t watch her go.
But he had enough of listening to the deputy go on her tirade. he had enough of hearing Rebecca have to defend herself, he had enough of listening to silence while she kissed Her.
“ I’m not sure where the hell you get off talking to my wife that way Ms. Schuyler, but it ends now. You say it’s about the collective two breaths after saying she isn’t welcome here. You feel like telling me, I’m not welcome?“ the look he was giving her said she didn’t.
His finger pointed at the petite red head near bye, His face leaned down and into the angry little gargoyles. “The day we met, She saved my life, I decided I’d had enough of this crap world. I was going to end, that night then and there, sneak off into the sunset and end it. But instead I came across her, Broken isn’t strong enough. Devastated might scratch the surface. We are a matching pair. If she wants to go and come back, she damn well will, if she wants to leave and stay gone, that’s hers to say, if she wants to stay, that is her choice.”
His lip pulled back, his eye twitched. His nails bit into his right hand Blood slowly pooled in his palm until it slowly quietly dripped into soil beneath as he restrained himself from attacking. “Do we understand each other?” he hoped to Sebastian that answer was yes.

Rebecca could feel the stirring of hatred and guilt deep within her the more Gina spoke. Of course Agnes did not make her decisions with the expressed purpose of betraying Rebecca. Agnes had her own reasons and in the end, they had little to do with Rebecca, and maybe that was why she hated it. Agnes did not think about Rebecca, and whether or not it was not personal, it hurt her as though it was.
Being told that she turned her back on Agnes was enough to almost push Rebecca into a real attack. Her fist was clenched tightly, and as the final “sad” left Gina’s lips, Rebecca was ready to charge before she was unexpectedly interrupted by a flying door, and the presence of her clearly enraged husband.
Rage was a terrible thing for Abyssi.
Saturn had clearly heard the argument, and Rebecca’s heart sank. There were some things Rebecca was open with Saturn about. He knew about Agnes, and he knew that Rebecca could not love him. What he did not know was how much she tried, or how important she had made him in her life anyway. Now that he knew that, the fear crept in that she should run and forgo coming back, because things were too real and too close.
Before she could run, she could not just leave Gina to face Saturn in his current state, even if she considered the winged brat to be a holier than thou b***h. If left unchecked, Gina could end up becoming many bite-sized Gina-bits.
Rebecca jumped forward and wrapped herself around the arm that was now leaking blood, sincerely hoping his instinct would not be to jettison her across the town. ”Saturn, honey, it’s fine! It’s fine.” She did her best to maintain a calming tone in a scary situation. ”Gina jist told me how she feels, an’ that’s fine.” It was not, but a lie was more likely to protect Gina than the truth.

When the door flew off its hinges, Gina knew she was in trouble. Suddenly, the gargoyle girl was feeling a whole lot less bold than she had before—but that’s what six-and-a-half feet of super-strength muscle did to a woman, particularly when it was blatantly, blindly furious with them. Gina watched as Saturn stalked closer, wishing that the ground would just open up and swallow her whole. Her wings sagged slightly. Not only had he heard Gina ripping his “wife” a new one, he’d heard what Rebecca said. And now, the five-foot-one gargoyle was taking the heat for it.
The gargoyle bit her lip as Saturn spoke, averting her brown-eyed gaze. A rippling stream of swears ran through her head. She’d certainly done it this time. Somewhere between asking Gina if he wasn’t welcome and the first-half of his tale about how they’d met, Gina lost focus on Saturns’ words. They were both broken, both needed each other, and Gina was wrecking everything they had together. Even if it was nothing. She shook her head, slowly, ashamed of herself—she’d never send Saturn off.
The question was, did she understand him? Rebecca attempted to intervene, but Gina was well aware that she was up **** Creek without a paddle, by this point. Call her stupid, call her bold, call her what you would—she wasn’t taking back a word of what she’d said. Even when the man in front of her could kill her with a single flick of his finger.
“Understood,” Gina mumbled. He was in Gina’s face, inescapable and furious. Gina could feel the tears pricking the corner of her eyes, threatening to overflow. And, when she spoke, her tone-quivered. Her limbs were shaking—not only in residual anger at Rebecca, but in fear of what Saturn would do to her. And yet, Gina spoke, unwilling to step down, “I understand, and I apologize, but I don’t take back what I said. I can’t help how I feel.”
The tough-girl gig was dropping fast, and giving way to all that was left—not the self-righteous, coldhearted deputy, but Gina. Gina, and all the raw pain, sorrow and nostalgia that made her who she was now—fear of what Saturn would do to her, fury at Rebecca for being who she was now, and all these emotions were bringing out the real Gina in full-force, and there was nothing Gina could do to contain it now.
“Your wife and I used to be best friends,” Gina told Saturn. Her voice had lost its tremble, but was quiet and tight with emotion, “Did she ever mention that to you? She was dating a girl that I’d deemed my sister, my roommate, which made the three of us inseparably close, before the apocalypse.”
It was a story that very few knew. Gina had an image to uphold, so she scarcely spoke of Agnes, to anyone. Not even Jorge. She was too busy trying to be tough, trying to be strong. Each time that Agnes came up, Gina grew indignant and angry-- because it made her feel weak. The last thing she wanted was for the townspeople, or for anyone, to see her vulnerability.
“Do you know what it’s like, to watch your sisters turn into total strangers?” Gina demanded, “Agnes helped bring about the end of the world, helped cause all this mess, and now Rebecca’s with you, and you know what--?” Now, she was crying. It would be more merciful of Saturn to just hit her, and stop this all now. More merciful than to let Gina make a fool of herself, and throw all of her vulnerabilities out for the world to see, “It’s killing me to watch my sisters cause so much pain. Killing me to stand by absently, and make no difference—to be powerless to how time’s changed us all. We’re all broken. All of us, devastated husks of who we once were. And there’s nothing that I can do to save anyone. I can't do anything for you, me or anyone else, and it kills me.”
Gina turned her back on Saturn, beginning to stalk away, but there was still more that needed to be said. She wanted to escape so horribly, to run, to raise the walls up once again-- hell, being struck down or being yelled at about how wrong she was would be more merciful than to let Gina continue revealing vulnerabilities. But, there was still more to be said. She couldn't flee yet. Two strides away, Gina turned back, returning to her nose-to-nose status with Saturn, “I understand you, and I apologize. Never again will I get in the way of your own personal happiness, just because of my own personal qualms. So long as it works for you, I will keep my mouth shut. I just... thought this was the one instance where I would't be powerless to watch two friends hurt themselves. I realize, now, that I'm wrong. And so, I apologize to you, Saturn.”
Her piece said, Gina lowered her head and closed her head, awaiting whatever punishment that she'd brought upon herself. She would not apologize to Rebecca, nor did she want the protection of her former friend. She also wouldn't take back a word that she'd said, but she'd apologize to Saturn-- because he was stuck in the middle of this. And it was entirely possible that, having heard all that Gina had said, Saturn had also heard all that Rebecca said. This made Gina truly remorseful. And for this, she would take whatever her big mouth had earned her.
ooc: Sorry for the wall-of-text. I got kind of carried away. I'll tweak it/ shorten it if need be. Sorry guys~
