“Gobble, Gobble turkey face!!”
Zachary L. Farms sniffled as he tried to run across the playground. His long, wrinkly next wobbling with his every step. His beak of gasped for breath as he tried to hitch up his custom-made jeans above his large fanned tail feathers. He hated the sound he made. It sounded exactly like what people expected…he gobbled. He tried not to, he really did, but it was too hard to keep it under control. Especially when he was running. He hated trying to control it when he was running.
“Leave me alone!!” he gobbled as he run on until he found himself turning a corner and faced a massive, brick wall.
He gasped and adjusted his wireframe glasses that barely balanced on the bridge of his beak. He shook his head no as he spun around, hearing the sound of footsteps. Nervously he reached up and massaged the glowing red wattle that hung down across his beak and shook his head. Tears dotted his beady eyes as he looked ahead and watched as three normal looking boys stood and barred the only exit from the alleyway behind the school.
“I didn’t do anything!”
“Freak,” one of the boys jeered as he picked up a broken half of a brick from the floor. The rest of the boys followed suit. “Thanksgiving is here. We still need a turkey…”
The rest of the boys grinned and laughed sadistically.
“Stop it!!”
The first brick that sailed through the air struck Zachary hard in his chest. His chest feathers which were hidden underneath his shirt absorbed most of it but it still hurt like hell for the 10 year old boy. He stumbled, hard to the ground and tried to cover up his face from the assault of stones, glass bottles, and whatever other items those bullies found to throw…
Another Thanksgiving…another plethora of bruises…
November 12, 2011 – Costco Warehouse, New York Outside the Costco docking area, the figure of a twenty-year old Zachary L. Farms narrowed his beady eyes as he watched those large trucks pull in. A low, menacing gobble-sound fell from his beak as he stood there, the mocking insignia of the Foster-Farms glaring at him from each of those trucks. He knew exactly what was in there. The thousands of raw an frozen turkeys that would be both, one by one, by idiotic families across the country in order to celebrated that damnable…Thanksgiving…
He retched slightly at the thought of that name. It was not something that agreed with him at all. And after TWENTY years of having to deal with the bull about the lies of the bringing together of families, the making of friends, the shoving of food down the already fat throats of people every single year, Zachary was finally done with it. Absolutely and positively no more was he just going to sit back and let this atrocity go on. He couldn’t, and he wouldn’t.
Stepping out from the shadows, Zach clicked his beak angrily as he walked directly for the loading docks.
Workers were already opening the backdoors of their trunks as they began to unload the multitude containers that held dead and processed turkey after dead and processed turkey. As they started to unload another, one of the workers nodded to the sight of the approaching Turkey Man.
The man laughed and nudged his friend.
“Hah! Get a load of this nut job?” Rocko, as his name turned out to be, hopped down off the dock and strolled over to the advancing, angry looking turkey mutant. “Yo! Freak! What’re you doing all the way out here? Heh, someone might try to pluck ya and cook ya!”
Zachary only saw red. As he advanced he suddenly produced a silver knife from the feathers that covered his hands and lashed out, suddenly cutting Rocko’s throat. The worker fell to the ground, gasping and choking on his own blood as the Turkey Man walked right over his dying body. Upon doing so the rest of the workers freaked out and began to run for help. But Zachary knew it would be in vain. Nothing…nothing was going to help them today.
Taking a breath, the mutant turkey suddenly opened his beak and released a powerful and ear-splitting GOBBLE. But the surprise came when, after releasing the sound, the trailers behind the semi’s began to shake, roll and rumble under the weight of something, whatever it was, clashing around inside the cabins. Zachary grinned sadistically as he watched one, two, three, four large wrapped and un-wrapped butterball turkeys suddenly roll out of the back of the trunk and every single container. The cold flesh rolled to his feet and while others rolled away (or if they broke out of their packages) crawled or blindly walked and made other piles.
Zachary inhaled deeply as turkey after turkey began to pile up and around him. More and more turkeys piled and formed as the mutant’s mighty gobble seemed to not only form turkeys around him protectively but also managed to transform into the vague outline of a extremely large turkey that shall be known as Turk-zilla! Higher and higher Zachary felt himself being lifted as he sat comfortable within the center of the mass of dead foul. All around him several other smaller variations of Turk-zilla began to stand on their own two legs and stumble around blindly.
Growling, Zachary turned and eyed the nearby city. He would make them pay for Thanksgiving this year. Everyone would pay for Thanksgiving. He and his army…they will decimate this own…

Each footfall of Turk-zilla shook the ground and nearly shattered the asphalt as he stormed to New York City. On top of that, his smaller avatars stomped and stormed after him, crushing anything that got in their ways.
This year, the cranberry sauce wasn't going to be the only thing red...
Aedus found a small mom and pop home cooking place, He was in love, It was somebody else's grand ma that did the cooking, but he had only wanted mash potatoes and gravy and these were heavenly. Gram wouldn't find out. He set on the patio of the shop over the Family sized Container of Mashed potatoes. Call it a stereotype all ya like, Aedus wouldn't care.
It reminded him of the good parts of Thanks Giving, it was coming up soon. He stopped and smiled to himself of the warmth and hustle and bustle of the kitchen. What would go really well with this was a roll or two and some Turkey.
He could almost taste it.

A scream went up into the air and everyone he saw him pass going to the right came sprinting back, people on the other side were running too, some ran into buildings some ran headlong in the opposite direction.
Aedus stood up spoon and potatoes in hand. He walked to the edge of the side walk and looked, his eyes widened at the unexpected answer to his request...The Styrofoam container of spuds and plastic spoon slipped from his grasp. That was a whole lot more turkey then he had in mind.

Well another year had come and gone. This time it was his turn to buy the food for the mansion for the Thanksgiving day feasts. Yes, feasts. He'd found that at the mansion, especially around holidays, there was always food to be had and great food to be cooked. It was almost like fifty more people always showed up at the mansion that didn't usually live there. And of course... they could all cook. Nevertheless there was always plenty to eat around the holidays and plenty of people to get to know.
As it was he was loaded down with food in all different shapes and packages. All different sized bags were with him too making his cart almost overflow with the amount of food that he would be taking home. He felt it before he saw or heard it. The ground shook and Streak wondered if it was possible for New York to get an earthquake. He'd lived here for many years and had never experienced one. The only possibility was that someone was creating this. Shawn then saw the giant turkey coming down the street and he could already hear the police sirens wailing in the distance as he was sure that they were getting flooded with phone calls of a giant butterball turkey walking down the street.
Well I guess that explains why they didn't have any turkey's in the store. They're all about to squash us. Streak put the food in the van that he'd borrowed from someone at the mansion, because lets face it there was no way all this food was going to fit in his car, and moved the van into an alley to get it out of the way. Streak then returned to the street and watched as the advancing Turk-zilla smashed cars and people raced past him screaming like the idiots most of them were.
All in all he was still thankful. He was back at the mansion, he had his powers back, and he was about to engage in a battle with a giant turkey. What more could he ask for... except for maybe some backup right about now.
Where the hell was she? Lydia Renard was lost as she stumbled around the block, searching frantically for a familiar street name or something to guide her home. Internally, she reprimanded herself for wandering out alone, into a city that was still alien to her. She thought she’d just take a nice, short walk around the block, but that short walk became a long one, and she thought she could handle branching out a little farther…then a little more…until she found herself forgetting from which direction she’d come.
I hate myself, she declared, pausing for the umpteenth time to try and gather her bearings. Nope, she was definitely lost.
And then she heard the screams, and felt the ground shake. She turned towards the source, eyes widening at the growing THUDS! There was…a gigantic…frozen turkey monster…?! “Holy—!”
People started shoving past her, as she stood frozen in shock, eyes glued to the fast approaching Turk-zilla creature. Something told her she should probably start fleeing the scene as well, maybe find a nice place to hide. SERIOUSLY, START RUNNING! Her mind screamed at her.
Good idea, brain.
Dia began sprinting away from the oncoming monster, only to collide face-first with some random, brown-haired guy standing in the street. She stumbled back, landing on her behind, and sat dazed for a moment. If the man said anything, she didn’t hear it. She wasn’t sure how he was affected, but she did manage to mumble out a “sorry,” before remembering that there was a giant turkey-thing coming their way.
“Uh, we should run!” She exclaimed, jumping to her feet. She began tugging at his arm. She was sure that he was just frozen in shock, as she had been, and simply needed someone to jolt him into action.
((Streak, the brown-haired dude is meant to be Shawn. Tell me if I need to change anything/don’t want that dude to be Shawn.))
Sara loved the fall. It wasn't because of the holiday, those that were recently passed and those that were still to come. But it was the weather. The air was just starting to be crisp and to a person who had no choice but to walk around in fur, the newer temperatures were comfortable. Especially when one compared them to the hot and soggy feeling ones. (Shaving was not an option.)
Sara's stomach had told her that it was lunch time by making it's self well known. It's growling might not of been noticed my much of the crown, but the feeling and sound made it well past the sounds of the city and rang through Sara's head. The feeling turned to a buzzing feeling.
Sara stuffed her clawed, paw like hand into her pocket looking for a piece of Beef jerky. Her coat pocket was deep and in that short amount of time that it had taken her to sort out the fabric of her coat from the plastic wrapped dried meat, the buzz had turned into a growing THUDD. and than another.
Sara rubbed the ridge of her nose trying to get rid of the fuzziness. Stupid. She should have eaten a fuller meal this morning. The feeling would pass when her mutation kicked in and she had something in her mouth. Almost forgetten the beef stuck out the side of her jaw. Chewed now and then. It took Sara a moment to realize that people were running past her. Bumping into her back side and kicker her tail.
And that sound was louder still. Growing with the screams.
Sara froze for a moment, her eyes staring straight a head of her at the back sides of the freaked out norms and the mutants that dotted among them. For once both seemed to be equals now that there was a bigger threat and in the back of Sara's mind, she wondered if something similar in this situation could be done. For the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
However this threat had to be dealt with first so with the beef jerky still half way out of the side of her mouth, jaw clenched, Sara looked over her shoulder. Her eyes widened and that piece of beef disappeared with a dry, heavy gulp that hurt. Suddenly world peace seemed more complicated.
Ok. First thing was first. Do the stupid thing and run towards the dangerous giant turkey. She had two blocks before she reached it. In the distance she could hear sirens but how fast they could reach the seen was anyone's guess what with people running in the street and stupid rubber neckers at the wheel.

It was Thanksgiving, and they were going to Aurum’s place! Kealey could barely contain her excitement at the thought as the memories from the year before flooded in and her mouth started watering. Last year had been amazing, with all their friends gathered around the apartment, smiling and (in her case) crying with the happy and thankful emotions in the room. The memory brought a slight frown to the blondes face, after a moment though. They’d be short three this year. Ghost was still missing, along with her husband and the adopted son that nobody had seen since a strange encounter in the apartment building that had left Kealey with new powers.
She and Shin were taking the bus. It wasn’t all that far or all that cold, but Kealey was carrying a pan of potatoes au gratin that kept slipping and burning her fingers. She would have asked Shin to take over, but he was busy with the rolls she’d bundled into his arms as they left the apartment. They probably made one heck of a sight on the bus…but somehow all this food and a motorcycle hadn’t seemed like a good idea.
It was no matter. They’d be at Aurum’s soon and they’d be eating all the good food and sharing all the good company that a couple could hope for on Thanksgiving. Also, Kealey had heard through the grapevine that someone she didn’t know would be there. A female someone. It didn’t matter if the woman had been referred to as a ‘friend’ or really anything else. A female someone, invited to Thanksgiving was something to think about.
Kealey was so lost in thought, and drifting on the various emotions floating around on the bus, that she was shocked when brakes were slammed, and her pan of potatoes flew from her hands.
The spuds sailed, arcing gracefully through the air until they came to rest on the back of the head of a rather large man several rows in front of where she and Shin had sat.
”Uh oh….” the blond said, wincing at the steam rising from the stocking capped individual as he rose from his seat. Being an empath and all, Kealey could tell he wasn’t happy…she looked at Shin, horrified.
”I….I didn’t….” she stammered.
THUD!!!!! THUD!!!!
An enormous, leg stepped in front of the bus, then another, the ends of the feet barely visible through the windshield. All conversation stopped as the bus riders collectively held their breath.
An ear splitting GOBBLE shook them from their stupor and then there was a panicked flurry of motion as people scrambled to get off the stopped bus. In another time, all the panic and fear might have had Kealey Quinn stuck in her tracks. Not today.
”What the heck is that?” she asked her boyfriend next to her in the seat. ”And how do we stop it?”

It had taken a lot of convincing to get Gina to leave the Mansion. Though turkey had never been her favorite meat, she was a sucker for the feast, and wasn't too keen on passing the opportunity to eat a ton of good food. She was also still hesitant to go out from events of the month prior-- her fear had yet to quell much, thus she refused to venture very far beyond Xavier's.
But, a friend made an offer she couldn't refuse-- a group was going to Denny's for a late Thanksgiving lunch, and Gina should join them. Gina at first refused, but they eventually pressured her into agreeing.
It was actually quite good, and they finished just in time to walk it all off, and hoof it back to Xavier's in time for te feast.
Yet, as they were walking, Gina let her gaze and her mind wander. They passed by a particularly ornately-decorated storefront window, which Gina was compelled to stop and look at. It was all done-up for Christmas, and simply magical to behold.
Yet, as she turned to comment on the display to one of her cohorts, she realized that she was unaccompanied. Alone. They had ditched her!
"Guys?" Gina inquired, her stomach hitting the pavement with dread. How did they clear-out that fast? Which way did they go?
THUDDD![/b] THUDDD![/b]
Gina looked up ay the reverberating shocks of footsteps and screams. What now?
A giant, uncooked turkey loomed over her menacingly.
Anyone more bad*** than she might have gone about reacting in a more effective manner. But, in a mix of humor, alarm, and fear, Gina let out an unglamorous yelp, barely dancing out of the way as the composite turkey took out the storefront window.
Some mutant was having a little too much fun with the festivities.
This year seemed like new territory to Nate when it came to Thanksgiving. Calendar events did not usually merit much notice when he was wandering around without any real social contacts. He remembered a few years earlier, when he spent Thanksgiving day with a lovely cat burglar as the only patrons of a sushi place. He vaguely remembered half a decade ago, he enjoyed an actual homecooked Thanksgiving dinner with an old fence who looked out for him back in the day.
This year, Quin and Nate were planning Thanksgiving together. Due to her internship, Quin was not able to make it home for the holiday, and Nate did not want his girlfriend-- man, that word still felt weird in his mouth; anyway, he did not want his girlfriend celebrating Thanksgiving alone. She was working for part of the day, and Nate knew well enough by now to be ready for her shift to end anywhere between the afternoon and the early morning. Food had been prepared and was ready in the oven for whenever she might get back, so Nate had the time to go buy a dessert.
Nate tossed on a grey hoodie to deal with the New York weather. His knack for travel never fully altered the effects of his early years spent in the Carolina sun.
All things considered, life had been going pretty well; things with Quin were positive, he had actually started making his money as an artist, and everything else had been as normal as he could have hoped.
THUDD! THUDD!
Nate looked over his shoulder; why wouldn't there be some monstrosity looming over buildings. It seemed to be some sort of turkey, but not the feathered sort; this one seemed ready for the world's largest oven.
Nothing is making you run over there. Your power probably wouldn't even be helpful with this thing. Just get yer damn pie and go home.
The internal pleading was all for naught, with Nate's legs already carrying him toward the epicenter of chaos.

Streak was still amazed that there was a ginat butterball turkey terrorizing the city. Will the wonders never cease? Streak was suddenly brought back to the fact that he was still standing in the middle of the road looking at the bird when he was run into. The girl was a litttle younger than him but he had no intention of sticking around to find her nae out; however, if this didn't take to long he might try to find her to make sure she was safe from the attack. After all she did look freaked out. Her suggestion was sensible, he thought as he got up from being knock over by the charging girl. But when did he ever do the sensible thing.
"You run and hide. I'm going to take care of this." Shawn said as he covered himself in his silver once he was he was completely upright. HIs silver skin glimmered occasionally i the sun, whenever the giant undercooked turkey wasn't blotting it out. "It's my job." He said simply as he walked past her. With one last glance he ran off towards the turkey. He may never see her again but he still hoped she'd be safe and not do something stupid like he was doing. Although, for all he knew she may be the one person to save the day but there was no telling.
As he ran the silvermancer found one person that he knew would be able to help. A certain feline mutant running in the same direction. Streak called to her. "Hey Werecat. First one to find the gizzard wins!" You had to make this fun otherwise you just looked insane.
He was off her left side as a miny zombie turkey came at him. A sword would do fine. Shawn figured. A simple sword that he'd used pre-powerloss appeared from his silver as he thought of it. Streak sliced at the mini butterball down in one swift strike. The sword cut right through the dead meat and bones and the featherless lump of meat fell tot he ground without as much as a gobble.

SMASH!! STOMP!!! CRUSH!!!!
The sound of the city being decimated was like music to the ears of Zachery. Even though he was encased within tons upon tons of frozen and raw turkeys, the mutant could sense everything that was happening on the outside. His years of torment, his anger towards the world for this foolish holiday, and for his freakish appearance, it was all being paid back ten-fold! No longer was he going to simply sit back and let these foolish people make a mockery of him or devour his brethren with gluttonous intent. Each and every single one of them was going to pay.
The large turkey leg comprised of small butterballs slammed down onto the a parked car and sent more citizen’s scurrying away. While the debris from the twist metal sliced into the thawing meat of the turkeys, a large wing spun and smashed into a building off to the side before stomping off again. This is what made Zachery’s form of destruction so dangerous, there was absolutely no rhyme or reason behind it. There was no intent, there was no negotiating, there was only mindless mayhem.
With no reasoning behind his path people could only run in horror, scurrying in fear around his feet. The screamed as he shoved himself extra large girth into the side of an apartment building and nearly caused it to collapse.
And while the larger turkey caused the majority of the mayhem, mixing in with the terrified people below was the sight of several smaller turkey avatars that stormed through the streets and smashed anything that got in their way, even throwing themselves at passing people. The smell of thawing turkey filled the warm air to a near sickening level but people were far too concerned with other matters…such as not getting themselves crushed by turkey golems!
Zachery laughed hysterically from inside his cocoon of butterballs. He knew that the it would not be long before someone stupidly attempted to stop his mayhem. Therefore he was going to need reinforcements.
The massive turk-zilla turned its lumbering form and made a crushing and stomping beeline straight for the nearest string of supermarkets…

A squad car swerved through the streets of New York City, sirens blaring and lights flashing in a bright shade of red and blue. Wasn’t Thanksgiving supposed to be a time of fun and family togetherness, not mayhem? But then again, this was New York, a mecca for many of the mutants of the world so it was of little surprise that there would be a calamity of some sort around the holidays. As much as it would be nice to believe that mutants did not always have to equal some sort of disaster, at times, New York just made that harder and harder to believe.
People becoming their costumes and zombies for the past two Halloweens, Christmas trees running amok at Rockefeller Center, a love hypnosis plaguing a huge shopping mall, it was absolutely totally up the alley that there were now be a giant butterball turkey storming through the streets.
For a brief moment, only a brief, Jorge Cervantes considered transferring back to Florida. Less holiday induced stress.
But sitting in the passenger seat of the patrol care while Clemens drove, he sighed as he listened the the reports that were chiming in through the radio.
“What the hell’s going on out there?” the man yelled as he honked the horn. “It’s the holidays for God’s sake!”
Jorge smirked briefly as he continued to look out the rearview mirror. “You say that like you’re actually surprised, Clemens. You should know better.”
“Screw you,” Clemens growled as he turned the corner and immediately slammed on the breaks.
Ahead of them they could an extremely large turkey smashing into buildings while littered across the street that led up to it were people huddled in horror and smaller turkey golems smashing everything they bumped into . It looked like a warzone and all Jorge could think to do was that he needed to help those people.
“Clemens,” he muttered. “Make me a path.”
Clemens turned to him, shocked. “Are you crazy? I’m not driving through there.”
“It’s either that or you get out and help those people. Either way, Clemens, you’re doing something.” Jorge announced as he had his hand on the handle and locked eyes with Clemens.
A second later, Jorge was climbing out of the car, his trench coat flaring behind him as he pulled his gun free from its holster. It was not going to do that much good but it could at least serve as a distraction. Stepping forward, he heard as Clemens gunned the engine and then began to peel forward, flashing the lights and honking the horn. As he did so, he pulled as much of the turkey golems attentions as he could while Jorge stepped forward.
As he charged forward, he directed as many innocent people as he could to follow the path behind him and that emergency services were going to be there within the second. People he came across ran terrified behind him, looking for those flashing red and blue lights, while Jorge did his best to keep the turkey’s attentions torn between both Clemen’s squad car and himself.
Coming up to a fire hydrant, Jorge fired twice into it and effectively caused water to begin to pour out. He then quickly holstered his gun and summoned the water to him. It swirled defensively around him as he threw forward his arm and shot powerful jets of water into passing golems and dislodged several of the turkeys from the main body. He continued on, making his way towards the giant turkey and called out to anyone who was panicking where the emergency service vehicles were going to be. God…he hoped he wasn’t the only one out here trying to do something about this…
>> "You run and hide. I'm going to take care of this."
What?! Lydia knitted her eyebrows together in a completely confused expression, wondering how many times the young man had been dropped on his head as a kid. What the hell did he mean by, “it’s my job”? She didn’t think it was anyone’s job to deal with killer frozen turkeys, unless they were law enforcement. And he did not look old enough to be in law enforcement.
And then she noticed his changing skin. Holy crap. Even with mini Turk-zillas charging in her direction, she couldn’t help but stare. And stare. While the stranger ran away and yelled to someone else in the crowd of fleeing people.
“H-how…?” But that was a dumb question. How was there butterball turkeys running around everywhere? Another dumb question. The answer was obvious.
Mutants.
And now it was time to run again. Lyd barely escaped the attack of one of the miniature Turk-zillas as she started racing down the street again, following the flow of stragglers. She was dazed by the sudden mass exposure to mutants and wasn’t paying much attention to where she was going, as long as she was heading away from the violence, until she heard a surprising, shrill yelp. She’d heard many cries and screams, of course, but this one sounded distinctly…like someone who needed help? She did not know how to describe it; she turned her head in the direction of the sound and saw a small teenage girl (with wings?!!) being harassed by a growing mass of butterball turkeys. Against her better judgment…she decided she had to help.
She veered from her original path and ran towards the other girl, eyes scanning the ground for anything to assault the turkey monster with. She scooped up a fractured plank from a pile of debris near a broken store front, and rushed at the monster, slamming the make-shift weapon into its face (?). Ow, splinters. A few of the individual turkeys flew or rolled off, but the monster kept coming.
Well, that was not good. “We need to get out of here,” Lydia said, panting from all the running around. She gave the mini Turk-zilla another jab, sending an additional turkey sailing off.
The crowd wasn't letting Sara through easily. People didn't care that she looked like a monster. There was a bigger monster than her as far as they were concerned. Frustrated Sara planted her feet and yelled. The sound was sharp sounding human in part and animal mixed in between. The next set of norms turned to see her and veered to the side opening a path. Sara could hate herself later for that.
"Hey Werecat. First one to find the gizzard wins!"
Silver Streak drew her attention to her left. The corner of her mouth twitched up in amusement at streak's littlee joke challenge. "Gizzards are fowl, Shawn. I'm going for the wish bone." Sara said as she took off at full tilt utilizing all four limbs as she dipped around the mane part of the crowd. She hopped up above the fleeing norms' heads once she was to the side of the street, hopping from one store front awning to the next. It elevation gave her a much clearer view of everything that was really going on.
The bus at the largest' turkey's feet, the water manipulator that had just made it to the seen, and the fact that Turk-zilla was starting to take out an apartment building kitty corner from Sara. "Shawn," Sara tried to yell over everything else that was going on. "The gas and power lines.. .. .." Sara tried to warn. Weather they were in the building that was being pummeled, or in the streets below their feet, things could get worst fast.
She'd been cut short by one of the miniature counter parts. The 9 foot tall butter ball golem had rammed it's self into the supports of an awning that Sara had paused and perched at. Sara hit the ground first on her knee, then her hip. Golem looming above her with a mighty drumstick raised, trying to stomp down on her chest. Sara rolled across the side walk finding a long pipe that had once been part of a fence. reacting on instinct more than anything, Sara faced the turkey once again, and swung the long rod wild taking out the turkey golem's right thigh. The golem fall the the ground as well, but to Sara's surprise, at first, it still dragged it's self along with it's other leg.
The situation was far worse than it seemed at a distance; at a distance, it was hard to notice mini-turkey monstrosities running around, terrorizing citizens. The scene was very public, which was not Nate's cup of tea, but he did have the hood of his sweatshirt up. He focused a small segment of his shadow to run up along his body, obscuring most of his face under the hood. It was not a hero-esque mask, but it would do in a pinch.
When he finally made it onto the scene, it would seem there were already others trying to forge an answer to the growing problem. There was a silver man, a cat-type person, a guy surrounded by water, a girl with wings and a girl with a piece of wood. Just another day in paradise.
Making the safe assumption that the metal man and the animal woman were more readily equipped to handle their immediate areas, and the aquamancer seemed to be a uniformed cop, (possibly a friend of Quin's, maybe?) so Nate rushed closer to the two girls. He gathered his shadow up near his feet, forming waves that flanked him on both sides. He spotted two wobbling meat blobs nearby and cast his waves in their direction. The dark grey shapes rose as they approached, with a final, sharp descent crashing into the turkeys with enough force, what remained with the ebb of the tide was a pile of strewn meat and bones.
He checked on the two girls; one of them seemed normal, (which he had learned by now was not uncommon for most New York mutants,) and the other, younger girl was definitely a mutant. "Are you two alright? You should go somewhere... safer!" Yeah, when said aloud in a city infested with poultry zombies, Nate could hear how stupid it sounded. "Do you know those three?" he asked, gesturing to the food fighters already at work. He still had to assess the situation; in the meantime, he kept himself on guard, ready to form a wall of spikes at the first sign of trouble.

A brunette girl ran forth and began beating the uncooked poultry with a two-by-four ineffectually, rising up in Gina's defense. Maybe she was in-shock? Because he didn't so much as blink at Gina, and she was currently beating an enormous, uncooked turkey with a plank of wood as if trimming back the bushes. Gina just stared.
>> “We need to get out of here.”
"Tell me about it!" Gina replied, after a moment of just staring at the brunette. Okay, maybe she was in-shock. Maybe she should grab of plank of wood, too? They'd have to hit the turkey a lot to get all of the mini-turkeys off of it.
>> "Are you two alright? You should go somewhere... safer! Do you know those three?"
"I'm fine," Gina huffed. As fine as you could be with giant, uncooked turkeys terrorizing the city.
Gina huffed as yet another person bolted over, a tall young man who was easily in his twenties. He had darkness surging about his feet like water. She looked towards the three. She knew Shawn and she knew Jorge, but had never seen Shawn's power in action.
"Yeah, the guy with the water's a cop," Gina announced, grinning smugly. Fancy seeing him here.
Said turkey that had smashed into the storefront window didn't wait for introductions or polite conversation. In-fact, the giant, uncooked poultry spun awkwardly on its knobby feet, swinging a kick at the brunette that had nailed it with the two-by-four. You hit turkey with plywood, turkey was going to try and kick you.
Gina barely had time to scramble out of the way, and hadn't the opportunity to pull the brunette out of the way. Hopefully, she dodged the uncooked bird on her own.

The Cloverfield Turkey monster stepped past the bus.
There was an ear-splitting gobble.
>>”What the heck is that?” Kealey spun towards Shin, seriously. ”And how do we stop it?”
Shin took the brief moment to lob his armload of rolls at the mean guy who was suddenly returning his focus to them.
"Run!" He snagged her hand as he rose from his seat and pushed through the aisle, out the bus's door.
It was a good thing the bus had completely stopped and the driver was goggling at the gobbling terror, or else such an act would have been mighty foolish.
"Sorry about the rolls," Shin commented, eyes locked on the big turkey-construct stomping through the zone. "But I needed a distraction."
So, what could they do here? Kill it, or let someone else handle it, then go...?
