It had been a while since the last Root Beer Chug-a-thon. Shin was losing his edge.
"Ugh, that's the last one... I can't take any more..." The Asian 20-something groaned, slumping across the living room table. Across from him, DocProf offered a graying smile. A wrinkled hand darted into a pocket, pulled out a bottle, and popped the lid. Two pills found their way onto the table next to his perspiring glass. A bead of sweat rolled down Shin's cheek.
"Take those for the indigestion, and call me in the morning." The old man grinned. He rose from his seat, and walked towards the door. His time for root beer-guzzling fun had expired, it seemed. As had his competition. "It's getting late. I'm sorry, Shin. I really must get back to the infirmary."
"Ugh, okay... wait, rematch! Rematch! I demand a ..." Shin's arm waved as he tried to stand straight up... and failed, plopping back down into the table. His eyes squinted into the pink of the pills cautiously... ever so stealthy, Shin picked them up, popped them into his mouth, and drained the last of his glass. He swallowed with a pout, rolling his head to glance at the clock.
6:15. Around him, the music rose. Someone was playing a song by Miley Cyrus for the third time that night. Shin sighed. The party was just getting started. Already, with the repeats.
Speaking of repeats...
"Hey, Shin! You order the pizzas yet?" A black-haired mutant scowled at Shin. Shin blinked at him, and shoved out of his chair.
"Not yet, Trey... I will in a minute."
Beside the black-haired mutant, a blond girl crossed her arms with a 'hmph.' "I knew it."
Shin slipped past them, towards the phone in the hall. He picked up the receiver and dialed, as Miley Cyrus's song died. Blink182 took over. Shin patted his mouth to stifle a yawn.
Someone on the other end picked up. "This is Pizza Hut. My name's Caleb. How can I help you tonight?"
Shin took a deep breath, then ordered them. "... Twenty..."
"Sorry?"
"Twenty," Shin repeated, with an ounce more courage. "Twenty pepperoni pizzas, one Hawaiian. Two liters of root beer. Deliver them. Thanks."
The person on the other end of the line was silent for a second, then repeated Shin's order, just for clarification. Shin gave his 'affirmative' in reply. "Alright, then I'll just need your address and phone number."
"Xavier's Sister School," Shin began listing the details.
"Alright." Caleb finished. "I'll call you back in a minute to confirm the details. Thank you."
They hung up. Shin yawned, tapping his toe as some real music began to play in the background. "Dooon't stop, believin'...~"

"Helena, you won't believe this guy's order."
"I'll bet."

Bring, bring! Shin picked up the phone. "Yeah, hey? ... we're good here? Alright. Let the delivery guy know I'll meet him at the front gates to pick up the pizzas."
The phone call finished.

Some time later, Shin stood under the floodlights near the front gates of the mansion. Again, he yawned loudly. Tonight was the night for yawning, it seemed. He glanced around as a cold wind whipped by his neck. A shiver ran down his spine.
"I hope he shows up soon..." Shin chattered to no one in particular. His eyes lowered to the glowing screen of his Mickey Mouse watch. It was now a quarter till 7...
