The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kitra had been completly bored, hence her now being at the Mansion's Gates. She stood fidgeting, her knapsack at her side like normal, wearing black leggings with a green skirt hanging to her knees and a cream colored shirt with a light black jacket over it. Her long hair was currently being held in check by a long braid tied by a purple ribbon. It was about midday, probably lunch time for the mansion residents. Hesistantly Kitra walked the remaining length to the gates and pressed the buzzer there. "Hello, my name is Kitra. Um, I was hoping to perhaps inroll in classes." She sighed, why in the world was she so nervous?? It really didn't make much sense, but then again did things ever truely make enough sense in the first place. T'was a good question and definitely one to ponder, when she wasn't standing at the mansion's gates that is.

Morning came like a wet towel to the forehead, snapping eyes open and with a hint of pain. Through the aches of stretching, Shin had stumbled to the bathroom and done the morning routine. He'd brushed his teeth, showered, and dressed, then resigned himself back to the structured running schedule that he'd grown to loathe over the past week. Two miles a day might not have seemed like much when he'd first resolved to do it some time during the wee hours of the morning between 2007 and 2008, but now it was started to add up. Slipping into a red and white striped sweatshirt and red sweatpants, Shin had slumped to the door and out onto the mansion grounds for his run. An hour later, he was nearing its end. His feet came down hard on cement, making the jump from grass to paved path in front of the mansion gates. A faint buzzing caught his attention, and his run jerked to a halt.
"Need help?" Shin walked over to the main gate, pressing a button on the other side that allowed it to swing open with a smooth, rustless sound. He eyed the girl in front of him with a hint of childish curiosity and a touch of exhaustion. A low rumbling shook him to the very core; his stomach knew its internal clockwork better than Shin did. Now was obviously lunch time. Stepping through the gates, he stood in front of her and gave a two-finger wave.
"Yo. Name's Shin. If you need any help, I'm here for that. It's kind of my job." He let a grin chisel its way onto his face. The new position always gave his pride a bump upwards.
Kitra looked up at the young man that had spoken to her and smiled. "Hi Shin, My name is Kitra. I was hoping to try and take classes here. Think you could lead me in the right direction?" Kitra was still smiling, even if it was a bit nervously, it also looked like the Shin had been running or doing something rather physical. He seemed tired and she could have sworn that his stomach growled too. "Or perhaps we can get something to eat then I can sign up for classes," Kitra grinned.

“Heh, now you’re talking my language. Although we could talk about the classes issue while eating, I suppose. Or before.” He held his chin, nodding thoughtfully. “Yeah. That might be a good idea. What sort of classes were you wanting to take? Just a heads-up, some of the teachers here are a little extraordinary… follow me. We’ll talk to someone about this.”
The grass collapsed underfoot as he started leading her across the mansion grounds towards the front door. He glanced back to make sure she was following. They’d handle classes before he ate. It was the professional thing to do. He wondered if she knew this was a school for mutants. It was pretty hard not to… there were special things one did to stay there, but Shin wasn’t sure whether that applied to taking classes as well… mentally shrugging, he figured they’d find out soon enough.
Kitra grinned following Shin across the mansion's grounds. "Well, why wouldn't the teachers here be extraordinary? The students too for that matter. This is the sister school for Xavier's Institute right? Or did I manage to stumble upon another school for the gifted eh?" At this point Kitra's voice was teasing but not being mean about it of course. She frowned thoughtfully, "Well, I was hoping for a bit more harder classes, I did finish high school but college had been out of the question with the registration act." She flushed slightly, "And I sorta wanted to be around people like me instead of well..." Kitra trailed off for a few moments then shrugged, "Anyway, I thought this would be an interesting place to check out, maybe see if there's people with similiar mutations to mine." She was still following Shin but was now silent, merely thinking. Still trying to figure out why she was really here. Perhaps because she might run into Calley, or find someone with a similiar mutation, or perhaps she just wanted to fit in. At the moment she wasn't sure what it really was but she was sure there was a good reason or reasons that she was here. Just which one or ones they were she didn't know yet.

Shin smiled. Good. She knew what she was getting herself into. She had mutant powers too. His curiosity was piqued. "Oh? This is a good school for that sort of thing." Her silence kind of irked him as they trudged along, crossing the footpath again and arriving at the front doors. Shin stopped in front of them, turning around to face her. Maybe a demonstration would liven things up.
"I have powers too, you know. Watch this." Raising his hand up quick into a snap, he called forth twelve 3" wide green triangles, letting them swirl in a spiral above his hand, and arrange themselves into a three-dimensional opaque cube. He called up eight more, dropping them on the front and top of the cube. Four formed a beakish mouth on the cube's front, and four more formed two ears on its top. As a final touch, he waggled the mouth up and down.
"Bark bark!" It was a square dog! Dismissing the triangles, he let out a breath. The whole show had drained him slightly. He'd be grateful for that sandwich once this whole thing was over.
"So tell me, what do you do with your mutant gift?" He opened the door for her, gesturing with a sweeping hand for her to talk as they entered the building.
Kitra let out a small "oh" of surprise when Shin showed her his ability. If anything her expression was what said how amazed she was. And he made a square puppy too!! Awesomely cool indeed. She smiled, "My powers are drawing and bringing that drawing into being." Kitra pulled off her jacket and moved her shirt to show her dagger on her right wrist. "I tattooed this on not too long ago, watch." The tattooed dagger began to become 3d and have substance, shortly Kitra dropped her arm and caught the dagger as it spiraled towards the ground. Flipping it she handed it to Shin, hilt first. "Careful, it is sharp," she grinned as she waited for his reaction.

"Neat," he took the dagger, turning it in his hands and examining it. "Yup, definitely real, and yup... definitely sharp." He put away his finger, sticking it in his mouth to nurse the tip. He couldn't help but test that sharpness with a poke. Handing her dagger back to her, Shin spoke. "You know, I think at one point in time the mansion has a person who turned real things into drawings... kinda the reverse of what you do, huh? And I think I saw a teacher the other day with a group of students... she was giving them a little flipbook animated show, minus the flipbook. Just a piece of paper with a stick figure dancing on it. I think she's the math teacher here, actually." Shin spoke as he led her through the front doors, towards Sam and Shawn's office. The registration papers were usually there.
Walking into the office, Shin rummaged around in the desk for the appropriate papers. After a minute's search, he'd gathered up a pile- He handed her the stack, leading her back out the office doors and to a nearby classroom, where he sat himself down behind the teacher's desk, and nodded towards the desks for students.
"Have a seat and fill those out." The Asian steepled his fingers, sitting back like a professor. Two clear triangles danced up to float in front of his eyes like thick glasses, vanishing after a second with a laugh.
Kitra couldn't help but wince when he tested her dagger, well I guess it was just proof then. Even if it did make her feel bad so she smiled apologeticly when he handed her the dagger back. Kitra's face brightened, "Cool, thats pretty nifty." As an after thought the dagger disappeared out of Kitra's hand and back on her right wrist, the color seeming slightly faded.
She was grinning the whole time as she followed Shin to what looked like an office and handed her papers which she shifted through as they continued on to a classroom. Kitra sat and laughed when Shin made two clear triangles appear and they seemed to dance their way to his eyes make it look like he was wearing goofy glasses. She shook her head giggling and began the paperwork. There was a lot of it too, asking what her mutation was, well she put bringing her own drawings into being, no need to put the paper manupulation down as of yet. She really hadn't tried using it since it was unstable, perhaps she could get help learning to control it later on. Ah, here was the forms for classes; let's see, drawing course for the heck of it, calculas, poetry that sounded lovely. Hmm, there was a class for geology, sounds fun, college english, and of course some p.e too.
Kitra stood and stretched and walked up to where Shin still sat in the teacher's desk and handed him the stack of paperwork. "Here ya go, all filled out and hopefully ready to go." Her smile was cut short by a loud grumbling noise which emitted from her hungry stomach. Kitra turned red, "I guess I'm just a lil hungry."

"Right. Well then, let's find our way to the kitchen." Shin scooped up the paperwork with a smile, slipping it into a folder and tapping it once on the desk to make sure everything was straight and in order. "I'll just drop these off in the office on our way there... that alright with you?"
He waited on her answer. As he waited, a woman in her thirties wandered into the classroom. First, she stuck her head through the part-way opened door, glancing around. Her strawberry blond hair fell lightly over her brown eyes, wreathing her face in a nice sheen. "Is somebody in here?" She asked, finally stepping through the door and stopping next to the chair behind her desk. She stared at Shin like he were something out of place. "Did you need something? You're sitting in my desk." Her tone came off a bit stiff, but her eyes held the spark of a smile.
"Just wrapping up here, actually." Shin laughed, clearing out of her desk and gesturing for her to be his guest. He let his arm sweep out in the gesture. She shook her head.
"Thanks, but I prefer to stand for this. And you are?" She turned to face the other girl in the room, wearing a kind smile. She was dressed in a simple gray skirt and white business shirt ensemble, with fashionable yet comfortable dress shoes. Her shirt had a few frills, but she gave the general impression of a school teacher on her break. "I'm sorry, my name is Hazel Northey." She added as an afterthought, offering her hand. "I'm the math teacher here. I hope you don't mind my questions. It's just that I wasn't aware my room was in use after hours today. There aren't even any scheduled classes, and..."
"That's alright," Shin covered for them. "I just wanted to show Kitra here your room. She's interested in taking a few classes at the mansion. Just thought she'd like to familiarize herself with the layout while she filled out the paperwork. Hope you don't mind."
"Ah, I see." Hazel nodded curtly. That was quite alright.
