The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Anthony had enjoyed his tour and found his room to be more than he had hoped for. After a quick shower some sleep, and remembering how to find the training rooms he finally managed to get one that wasn't occupied. Walking to the computer he looked through the training programs that were available, thankful for the tour last night or this part would have been a night mare. There really wasn't much for his mutation on the list, so he chose the blind fighting program, a zero light program, it would tax his powers the most, and that is what he wanted.. His body was in peek condition, although lean, his dancing and training kept him at his best. making sure he still had his small flashlight on him, he walked into the pitch black void that was the training room.
"Well, I can certainly see why they consider this 'blind fighting'," he spoke to himself. He really hated the dark and could feel the weakening of his own power. Slipping his ear buds in he pressed play, and set his mp3 player to random, and followed the music, moving through the tiers of Tai-chi. Sadly enough the first track was one of Brittney's newest songs 'Circus', finding the rhythm of the music he began to flow rapidly and fluidly to it. pulsing his light around him, creating the ribbons he is so fond of, only they looked more like a ghostly apparition, in his weakened state.
Sweat began to glisten on his skin from the stress of pushing his powers, and his body to the top. He was enjoying to new found tensions in his body a goal he had not yet reached, perfect control.... HE felt the surge of the power and remembered the way he used it on the human at the pizza shop, the rush and he wanted more.
Aura walked into sanctuary robbing her shoulder, which was coverd in dry blood. Prying the severd hand from the wallet she had taken, she tossed it into the trash and slipped the wallet into her handbag. Making her way down the useual hallways, it never ocurred to Aura to actually check what was in the wallets she had taken she simply had decided to rob the people in adition to killing them. Aproaching the training room she at once saw it was in use, tilting her head she saw it was set to a blind fighting program.
With a shrug she walked in and the only thing she could see was ghostly ribbens of light shrouding somone who was performing some sequence of moves she did not reconize. AT times she wished her own mutation produced light, it was pink in color but had no luminosity of it's own. Aura closed her eyes and let her Aura come into what would normallt be the visual range, she said nothing as she moved, trying to be quite. Still she took a number of practice strokes with her arm, a blade appearing on the end of it.
The darkness failed to bother her, she ahd some experince at fighting without the uses of her various senses, mainly her eyes, as actually seeing her target was the most essentual thing. Useing the light ribbens as guidence she manouverd her way behind the other ocupent, and tapped him on the back with her Aura coverd hand, though the Aura itself had no real feel to it, it was room tempature. The Mutants power was beautiful and it also made her curious to see more of what he could do with it. Backing back into the darkness she awaited his reaction.
The music swirled in his thoughts, as he played with the streams of light, forcing some into kaleidoscopic spheres. Sending them in a passionate display, up to the end of the song. As the music in Anthony's ears faded as is started to switch to the next song he felt a light pressure on his back and then it vanished. Startling him to a defensive posture, he spun around pulling the light in.
The next song came on, and he grinned it was divine inspiration. 'Down with the Sickness', started up, blaring in it's beautiful power. He started dancing, pooling the light at his feet, a deep red, swirling out from him along the floor, and pulling two near crimson and a midnight purple, spinning blades of light in his hands, he began to target, who ever came in. Knowing full well the light was only distraction since it had no real force to it...yet. Except for being able to flash. In his fluid spins and flips, he pulled the cords out if the player, activating it's external speakers in the silent room.
Right as it hit the chorus, he threw the blades up into the air, and the spun around him, landing like the were sticking out of his back, at the shoulder blades, and began to stretch into full, apparitions of Wings. "Well, I know you are here, so why don't you step into the light?"
She watched as the starteled male pulled his light in as he took a defencive posture. SHe kept watching as He formed the blades Of light which Aura thought was beautiful in itself. Then she watched as he threw the blades which landed on his back and stretched into beautiful wing like shapes, in her opinion it was by far his best display yet. He seemed to be able to manipulate what she assumed was light, and the reasons he had chosen this place to train became very apparent atleast in Aura's mind.
Aura walked into the light with a smile on her face, though she could be seen, so her could her pink aura which wa ssee through but still cast her in a pinkish shade. Aura really had not been seriously trying to hide, in fact she loved meeting Mutants with such intresting powers. "Ask as you shall receive my wonderous friend. My name is Aura, i live here at Sanctuary" she said as a way of introduction. She assumed this Mutant was new to Sanctuary but then their were many in the halls she had never met before, so it was possible he had been thare for some time as well.
"Your display of your powers was a beautiful sight to behold" she complimented, and it was true, his power was a thing of beauity, and the various colors and shapes he seemed to be able to make with it only added to the beauity. Aura could not help her mind from wondering more on just what he could do with his powers. She assumed he could prolbely blind people with the flashes from the light.
Waiting on baited breath he didn't know how much more he could push himself today especially in the pure darkness, he had only been here for two songs, so that was maybe 7 minutes. He was already near exhaustion, creating light and manipulating it together was truly hard. As a young and attractive woman came into his view, her voice cutting the stillness of his heavy breathing.
"Names Anthony, I was just brought in, finished my paperwork this morning." He smiled as sweat dripped from his chin. plopping on the floor. Pooling some light into his hand he started forming a swirl of deep greens and a matching pink to hers. He smiled and scrunched his brows together. " A treat for you." His British accent flowing over the words, as he held his hand forward the colors stilling in that of a vibrant pink rose, starting to bloom, and wilting into a pile of light, and merging into a young bird that began to grow. Shifting and pulling light from his feet and dissipating his wings into it. The fledgling phased to a brilliantly colored phoenix, and soared from his palm circling his head, now it being the only light in the room.
"A pleasure to meet you miss Aura," his spoke to her once more and waited to see what would happen.
So he was new to the sanctuary, well in any case she had glad he had found the sanctuary. His power seemed to be quite versatile as well, allowing him to shape the light into seemingly any form he wished. She watched his display with much interest in it, he was quite skilled with his powers it seemed and yet, even in the thin light Aura could tell he was tired. Looking around Aura thought she understood drawing the conclusion that he likely could not generate light on his own or it was hard for him to do so. Either way he was in a good place to practice it.
"You seem to be quite skilled with your gift" she said watching the rose wilt and then turn into the bird which proceeded to take flight and circle his head. She was glad about another thing as well. Anthony did not seem at all bothered by his gift, as no mutant ever should be. "It is good to meet you, i have been here several months myself, since January" she said having to actually think about it, actual dates still a bit rough on her from lack of usage for so long. "Have you enjoyed what you have seen so far?" she asked hoping he was, she hardly could imagine a mutant not enjoying being surrounded by their own kind. Pulling her hair back, she sat downa few feet from him, her eyes looking up at the still in flight bird. "Can you make the light solid?" she asked curiously, loving to here about mutant powers, so she could enjoy the full beauity of those that weilded them.
"Yea, I haven't seen anything that wasn't worth looking at yet." He continued to smile, as he loweder himself to a seated position on the floor keeping the bird going on his own was very tiring, so he pulled out the flash light and flicked the on switch instantly pulling that light to the phoenix. "That feels better. And I haven't really tried to make it solid... I mean I know it's a possibility, but on my own I doubt I could right now." Anthony looked at her. "I can range the spectrum of colors, brightness, intensity, but i never had a reason for making it solid, I barely understand how my powers work I just know that this is what I can do and can do the showy side rather well." He shook his head slightly, and brushing the sweat off with his free hand.
"I think if I studied the actuall science of lights, you know like photons and things like that. I might be able to have the mental grasp to push my powers to that limit..." Shaking his head again, from being light head from som much strain on his abilities. "Plus I think making it solid I would end up making things much smaller because of the density and focus of the energy."
Aura really had no idea how hr power worked or even that most life had Auras, they just could not do what she could with it. Still Aura could harden her aura to a cutting blade and she was not unsure this would not be the same. She kept her eye on the flying bird ahving no idea what it really was other then a bird. "The reason i ask is a solid blade would help with defending yourself, i would imagine like my Aura it's just a matter of concentrating it hard enough into a single or limited point. She tried to explain though she really had no idea if his own power was even capeable of it.
Aura also did not understand what their was to study about light, it was almost always around in some form but other then that what did one need to know. It was only a few secounds later when she remembered his power was base don light that she considered it might help him though she still did not understand quite how or why and as for a photon well she gatherd it had something to so with light but the word was not one she knew. "What are photons?" she asked bluntly hoping he knew, having no real cocneapt of atoms herself having never needed to know about them. "iy likely would get smaller as you would be pooling the energy" she said again comparing it to her own Aura which got thinner when she formed weapons. Then again it did not do the same when she used it as a shield, she considered that idea now, but pushed it aside for later quickly.
Scratching his head,"Well, that is the point I really don't know much about light, and I figured that if I studied up on how it works and what it can do I can apply that information with what I can do." Bringing the bird down to his palm and shrinking it down about a quarter of the size. "I mean I can make shapes, images, light burst... It's all fun and for show which is why I figured out that I could do it." He paused and let it fade to a simple orb to release some of the stress. "But what about lasers? Speed? Teleportation?" He kind of smiled letting his dork out. "All that stuff could be done with light, if I had the knowledge to back it up. Light can be solid, look at plasma.. it's a light base." I looked to Aura again," I mean look at what all you can do with your gift.. what if you truly knew how it worked? are you creating an energy? or manipulating atoms of a certain type? if you knew what it was you could do you could do so much more with... That's what I think."
Aura was not entirely following her new friend, she understood what a laser was, she had seen them many times in cartoons. Aura has no idea light and plasma were the same and entertained the thought of holding a ball of light in her hand she could feel. Maybe knolage would help him, this seemed quite complicated. She wished she could help but she was beginning to understand how entirely unequipped for helping others with their powers in situations other then combat. Their were the exercises she had been trained with but as before she had no idea at all if these were even the same power types, her Aura wa sjust that her Aura.
" My Aura is a part of me, much like my hand or my leg, From what i know im basically making the natural Aura that excists around my body into a solid and visible form. Personally i find combat to be the most effective way to learn to use your powers, I learned what i know that way by constantly fighting and training with my power every day" she explained the ebst she could and not for the first time she wished some of her old team was still alive. "Still my power is a part of me, and that is all i need to know, our powers are granted to us from nature and as such our minds know how to use them, even if we ourself do not know quite yet" She tried to explain beleiveing nature would not give somone a power that would harm them or that they could not learn to use. Still maybe his idea did have merit. "Though maybe you are right.....still it is a path i could not go through" she said knowing her ability to study anything other then combat was limited.
"Maybe you are right, I learned all of this from just wanting it to happen that way but it was still hard to get my powers to work the way I wanted them to even after I gained 'control'." He smiled still. Stretching out his legs and wondering what to do and if he could even get it to work. "Would you want to try and help me see if I can get them to work in a combat scenario? I mean seeing if I can do an actual attack other than blinding people with flashes?" He spoke as he stood up, "End program," he spoke to the computer as it phased the lights on, looking at her for the first time in a fully light room. "that feels a ton better."
"I am game if you are, we can learn many things from every dance we have" She said beleiving fully that their was somthing to be gained from every enovunter. SHe considerd their options then tilted her head. "Do you wish me to attack or move?" she asked not sure what he wa sup for. Either way she could learn somthing weather it wa show to move and try to detect attacks while blinded, a very valuble skill one could have. She stood up and looked around the now lighted room, she knew the place well, but somtimes their was random things trewn about.
Bringing her Aura out it burst to life, slowly appearing just above her skin and moving out a few inches, before it stopped, then seemed to receded a bit, as aura brought her hand up before her face, with a smile, the Aura began to flow fluidly and formed an Axw like blade around her fist, it seemed to become solid, a moment later it turned back to it's fluidic form quickly forming a moving circuler saw, like object before it to fell back into her aura, as if never thare, clsoeing her eyes, she muterd somthing to herself though still audible. "One path, one way" and he simple phrase, pushed the random thoughts from her mind, focused she looked at Anthony ready.
"This will be interesting for us both I would imagine, as it is my first fight with another gifted person." He smiled, knowing the the lights strengthened him as much as the darkness weakened him. Dropping down into the ever familiar stance he slowed his breathing, and focused on the the emotions inside him, reaching for the same emotions that drove him, passion, love, anger, hatred, rage, compassion. Building upon them, fueling himself with their energy and reaching out to the light. "I guess, it should be ladies first." Bring the lights in the room up brighter and brighter...
Aura formed a hammer like shape around her fist, the issue was going to be the obvious, he would easily blind her and make her fight in the dark. It would be a good move, one she would have made in the same position. Knowing this she moved forward anyway, regardless of her eyes at the end of this she still had to get through it. She wished her aura could absorb the light but light passed through the aura easily, so a sheild of any kind was pointless. Moving quickly Aura brought her arm at him, swinging the hammer, her shot aimed at his midsection trying to catch him incase she tried to duck or jump and was a bit to slow. She was happy to be able to fight this mutant as well, every fight tought her somthing showed her diffrent types of attacks that could be used against her, and everything always felt so nice, in the heat of battile.
Well, she seemed to take everything in stride even if it meant beating up a guy she just had a nice talk to. Anthony smiled as he thought that. Seeing her aura shape into a hammer as she came running at him in a bit of a surge motion in his opinion. he braced himself, bringing his hands to light and sent a flash pulse towards her face, strong enough to temporarily blind some one. and with the other hand made to grab her arm to fling her behind him.
