The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was an awful day for Devon as he walked down to the pharmacy at town square. Walking down the side walk in snowy weather didn't help much and Devon was furious at himself for deciding to walk rather then catching a ride. Sick to his core Devon coughed all down the side walk wrapped in a massive black coat, hat, scarf and double layers of pants. The sky was clear and gray and a hazy mist covered New Yorks streets as few people were seen outside. It was a bad day indeed for Devon but he was out there now, and turning back wasn't an option. Walking down the side walk he heard laughter coming from across the street which took him by surprise, a family of five throw snowballs at each other as they wrestle and play in the snow together. "Dumb humans" Devon thought as the annoyance of his scarf whipping him in the face slowly corrupted him with insanity. Taking a few more weak and grumpy steps Devon heard a strange whistle coming from his right, tunning to see what it was a soft snowball landed right on his right eye.
As the ice particles dripped down from his face he saw a young child stand across the street with a wide grin on his face. Devon snapping into his dark side briefly acquired some of his Troll qualities and roared at the child. Running back to his family his image faded in the mist as Devon calmed himself back down and reverting back to his normal form. Continuing his walk to the pharmacy to pick up his medicine Devon thought about how he got into this situation. Thinking that he got infected by secretly killing that guy in the alley way three days ago, he licked his lips at the thought of the taste of his blood as his Trolls devoured his corpse.
Arriving at the pharmacy Devon stepped inside the doors and walked in looking like a corpse that came out of a hurricane. Moaning in despair he strolled down the isles as he saw the cashier looking at him like a walking disease and covering his nose. Devon gave the cashier an angry look and continued to look for some medicine for his cold. Standing in front of the drugs on the racks he picked up a box of Advil and read the description. "This is crap" he yelled as his anger rose, tossing the bottle to the ground he discovered that his sickness affected his emotions as well. Wondering why the store was so empty he sat there looking a drugs as he looked for other people in the store.

Mouth opening to form a vague ‘O’, papers rustling, train rattling, Shin battled back a yawn. Yup! It was just an average Wednesday in the big city, New York, New York. Here he was, on a mission for one of the mansion’s many students getting some vitamins, when he could have been doing better things. Wait, a mission? Hardly! He liked to think of it as a quest. And on this quest, he had been entrusted with the guarding of a leather pouch full of gold coins that rattled with every step he took, just like a good hero often has in his possession. Pouch full of coins tucked away, newspaper in-hand, he had boarded the train this morning, riding it into the city. There was something magical about an immortal quest on a dull gray day in the city.
The conductor’s voice cut through the air, announcing his stop. Shin folded up his paper, stashing it and his thoughts about final fantasies into his pocket for later. The pouch announced his departure from the subway with a jingle, door whooshing shut behind him as he got out in station square. The crowd brushed past Shin as he made his way up the steps into the gray haze of midday. He turned his head, looking for the right direction, and then he took off running.
“This is crap” someone yelled, tossing a bottle to the ground. Shin’s eyes darted to the source of the voice of aggression. The familiar voice of aggression. Very familiar…
“Devon?” Shin blinked, peering over the top of the barrier one aisle over. He rested his hands on the top shelf, staring at the troll mutant. “What’s wrong, man? Need help finding some of the good stuff?”
The people in the store around him muttered under their breath, hoping maybe that Asian kid would talk some sense into the angry one. Shin ignored their voices, eyes pleading for an answer.

Inside the store Devon skimmed threw boxes searching for the that had his symptoms on it, as he bent down he struggled to maintain that position because of the massive clothing he had on. Finally reaching the box and leaning back up he unzipped his coat, putting his left hand on his hip he read the box curiously and tossed that to the ground also. Before speaking he heard a familiar voice call his name “Devon?” The voice said as Devon searched for the cause like he was paranoid. Turning around from looking behind mouth wash Devon saw Shin standing there with his arms on the top shelf. Embarrassingly standing straight up he wondered why he was looking behind mouth wash for the cause of the voice, "What’s wrong, man? Need help finding some of the good stuff?” shin asked curiously at Devon.
"Shin?" he said surprised to see the shard mutant in his presence. "Hey, didn't see you in a minute, how have you been?" he asked tiredly as he remembered the question Shin had asked. "Oh yeah, caught a cold and I feel like Hell, know any medicine for that?" he asked as he slumped down into his over puffed coat. Realizing that everything he ran into someone at the mansion he was either looking homeless or trashy he sighed as he examined his outfit.

“A cold?” Shin examined Devon in his poofy coat. Yeah, he didn’t look so good. Shin walked around the side of the aisle, stepping up next to him to check a nearby shelf. He bent over, casually reaching out for a bottle. “Zicam Intense Cold and Flu Daytime medicine sound good?” He waggled the bottle at Devon, then held up another in his second hand. “Or we could go with the Nyquil cold/flu cherry flavored liquid…” Just how kid did he want to be about this?
“So which one will it be? The Zicam looks cheaper, if you ask me.” He spun the bottles in his hand, examining them sheepishly.

“A cold?” Shin said as he examined Devon. Nodding his head Devon sharply turned his head at the cashier who had been staring at him all the way since he entered the pharmacy "whats he looking at?" Devon thought as him and the cashier exchange glares of dislike. “Zicam Intense Cold and Flu Daytime medicine sound good?” Shin said as he wiggled the bottle at Devon's face, breaking the tension between him and the cashier he surprisingly looked at the box as Shin drew another with his other hands.
Holding the bottle of Nyquil at his face Devon put his right hand on his chin and examined the bottle closely, losing himself in his reading his concentration disconnected as Shin spoke. “So which one will it be? The Zicam looks cheaper, if you ask me" he said, "You know what Shin, I have a better idea" he said as his voice got deeper. In the pharmacy there were three people in there now other then Shin and Devon, making sure that he wasn't seen by anyone else but Shin he took off his gloves and extended his hand. "Want to see a trick?" Devon said as green mist flowed from his hand and into the aisle, from the green particles a Troll appeared in the center of the store.
People turned their heads immediately as the Troll roared with rage and as drool sunk to the floor from its mouth like a gooey waterfall. Hauling out of the room the people screamed which Devon slightly flowed to as he danced his way to the back. While making his way to the back door the cashier came across the aisle with a shot gun in his hand, pointing at Devon a couple feet away he yelled "I knew you were that mutant I saw at the airport!" Turning his head with a slight smile on his face his green eyes shined as he looked at Shin, "I guess were about to have some fun aren't we Shin?" Devon said as he willed his Trolls to silently sneak behind the cashier. Knowing Shin he would prabably be against the idea of Devon killing the man, which Devon wasn't going to do. But self defense can be so devilishly fun sometimes
Devon's intentions were to go in the back and take all the bottles of medicine so he wouldn't have to choose, but like Devon he had to make a scene. It wasn't his idea that the man didn't want to run away like everyone else, so what was he suppose to do?

The color from Shin’s face quickly drained as Devon summoned a troll minion in the shop. Was he crazy? “Don’t do that here!” People scattered, and Devon danced his way to the back of the shop, where he was met by—well, the management. Doing what the management usually does, by protecting their interests.
With guns. “Oh man…” Shin sighed, slapping his forehead. This was bad. Real bad. A difficult situation and here he was in its center. On one side of the issue was the law. Devon had started this, and that shopkeeper had every right to protect himself—but on the other… Devon was a friend. The two thoughts dueled in Shin’s head, bouncing back and forth like bowling balls. What would he do?
Step 1: Analyze the situation.
“Devon, calm down. I don’t know what’s going on, but there’s no need for that. And sir with the gun… be warned. I don’t want it to have to come to that.” Shin took a diplomatic step towards them both, hands raised to show he wasn’t armed. "I just came here for Flinstone's vitamins. I don't want trouble."
Step 2: Butt-kickin’ time
“Now why don’t you both just back up and sort through this, and…” He called up a storm of three-inch shards, arranging them into a rectangular barrier between them both. “Do so peacefully.”
He wasn’t loving this. Keeping them separated right now was all he could do to maintain the peace without overstepping his line in the sand and crossing that boundary. If he wanted to be an X-man, he’d have to be able to draw that line between criminal and friend.
You’re really testing me here, Devon… dang it. His eyes wavered weakly.

Standing there with a gun pointed in his direction it felt like eternity as Devon stood there with a grin on his face, Devon thought the situation was getting exciting and fear didn't cross his mind. It wasn't that he wasn't afraid of dying, its just situations like this always amused Devon, on a certain level. About to strike the man whose named was Nate according to the tag, he prepared to use his Troll to attack. Looking back at Shin Devon lifted his eyebrow as he spoke.
“Now why don’t you both just back up and sort through this, and…” Shin started to summon his shards which amazed Devon almost “Do so peacefully.” Looking at the barrier separating him from Nate Devon looked back at Shin. "Nice Shin, but I can do better" Devon said laughing while staring back at Nate. Deciding to let the situation continue further he pulled back his Troll behind a aisle where it couldn't be seen. "Freaks, both of you!" Nate screamed as he staggered backwards and tripping over the wet floor. Sitting himself back up and regaining focus he secured the shotgun in his hands.Still staring at the shard barrier Nate pointed his gun at hit and prepared to shoot.
"I don't think that would work" Devon said on the opposite side of the barrier. Putting his hands in his pockets he smirked at Nate as the space inside the room became heavier. The man looked at Devon and slightly turned his head towards Shin. "Die you mutants" he said as he pressed the trigger in Shins direction.

“Die, you mutants!!” The man screamed.
And suddenly, it was all in slow-motion. Shotgun shell exploding from the barrel, it ripped through air towards Shin. He swiped his hand across the space in front of him, whipping up triangle after triangle and arranging them to form a hasty shield. They spun and clacked into place forming opaque rectangle of rainbows. Their faces rippled as the bullet hit, raining buckshot on the world around him. But he was safe. The spent shell dropped to the floor, bouncing twice, the tension of the moment making those bounces echo with the impact of a cannon. Shin looked up from it at the gunner, freezing him with a glare.
“Did you really just shoot at me?” He stared, pointing to his chest. “Honestly, me? The guy trying to save your scrawny behind? I think that’s a little counter-intuitive…” He heard Devon laughing. “And you? Is this some sort of game to you? Look, if you want medicine I’ll buy you some. There’s no need for this crap! Maybe if I take the gun away, you’ll be a bit more civil to the man. No need for this to turn into a self-defense-imposed bloodbath.”
A gold triangle sprang up on the mouth of the gun as Shin raised his hand with a snap. “I’d advise you not to fire anymore, sir.”
He walked towards the man, shield moving along ahead of him with a sigh. How could this possibly end on a good note?
