(( OOC: This is a response to the Riot Plot, as well as Equal In Stupidity, as a whole. Enjoy.)) Ashton actually liked Maxine Ralls. This might have come to some as a surprise. Why would it come as a surprise? Well. Because a lot on the force hated her. Giving popularity to a mass murdering cop killer with a bone bikini babe calendar? Yeah, not a good thing. And often times, she had negative things to say about the force. There were a lot of people she rubbed the wrong way. Why then, did Ashton like her? Well... she looked good in a skirt. And sometimes, she actually had good things to say. Surprise, surprise. X-men in a cupcake shop. Handled poorly. Mass-murderer being invited into a rich lady's limo? Downright stupid. That whole Romania situation? Something needed to be done. And the situation with mutants rioting because someone in the force had beat up a kid, and her telling them they need to simmer down. Yeah, he agreed. Leave it to the police to handle justice. He didn't quite agree with her tone about mutants and humans being utterly different, but he agreed about one thing. Everyone was supposed to be equal under the protection of the law. Okay. So, maybe she hadn't quite been trying to say that. But dammit all to hell, SKIRT. And that was all. This mutant rioting BS was leaving a bad taste in his mouth. He hoped he wouldn't have to arrest any more idiots who thought they had a right to run wild and foam at the mouth. The second they crossed the line, they easily could become worse than the humans they were rioting about. And he was a cop. He had to protect all sides, under the law. Even if he was protecting foul-mouthed human bigots whose only crime was exercising foolish free speech.
