Rainbows and Unicorns Are for Pansies

He thought it had been a pretty big sign of weakness when he caught Cameron playing Peggle. With all its rainbows and playing Ode to Joy and firework sounds when you finished a level. He had sternly chastised him, saying “Rainbows and unicorns are NOT manly!”

Today, he had a very important topic he wanted to bring up. The taxes were done and everything squared away for their shop, but Kai felt that they needed to hire another worker. The two of them had run everything since opening and it was a grueling pace. They could get someone to make bouquets or run deliveries or watch the front of the shop. Then the brothers would have more freedom to, you know, actually sleep. And meet people, considering they now knew about a whole community of mutants living at Xavier’s Sister School.

Kai sauntered over to Cam, deep in thought.

He was doing something on the computer, but Kai couldn’t quite see what. As he drew closer, however, he heard music. Kind of techno-ish.

“What is tha-?” he stopped dead in his tracks, peering over Cam’s shoulder. “What’s with you and the freaking rainbow unicorns?”

*Explosion sound*

Cam cursed. “You made my robot unicorn die! I totally dashed through that star!” He swiveled around to face his twin. “Robot Unicorn Attack is the best game ever. Just because you have no sense of ‘cool’…”

Kai just hung his head in shame. “Go take a look at my budget proposal for hiring one or two part-time workers. Business first, older brother, then lame-pansy games.”

His brother shrugged- there would be no fight today- and left the room.

Kai eyed the screen with distaste and suspicion.
