The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Follow the White Rabbit~
It has been two years year since Luna had left the mansion so suddenly, without a notice, note, or warning- she joined a enemy to mankind.... It was only a year but it forced her to grow up, mentally as her body physically had not grown completely it was developing quite well... It was just another year- another time goes bye as she aged from twelve to fourteen... It was all so fast...
Down the rabbit hole once again~
Her hair had been cut a little shorter she still kept it the jade/emerald green it usually was dyed to. It hung down no longer in a ponytail. Her eyes were more glass like and a semblance of a stitched scar appeared at the bridge of her nose... Her height? Only a small two inches nothing too notable. Her clothing was still baggy and tomboyish yet some would say she had a feminine charm to her, it was- odd.
To that strange land in your dreams, lost in memories~
Her mind- was mature... that much was so, her voice was still young and slightly pitched when angry but she seemed almost dying? No more like a doll-like her expressions became less her voice more monotone... It hurt, deep inside her heart ached.. she wanted it- she wanted to return here. To the place she felt she betrayed to the people she believes have forgotten her.
Why?
Back to where it all began, back where you started the race against the clock~
The times she spent in kabal- they weren't bad nor good she thought she could get stronger there, and maybe make new friends.... But now the petite green haired teenager didn't think so anymore... he missed them, the few people she knew Cold Steel, Seizure, Well only a few hinted in her memory she knew she probably met more in the past... She couldn't remember anymore- it was so fogged. Her memories now and again...
Back where dreams were dreams, and the reality was fantasy- where did it go?~
Now here she was a familiar case of deja vu hit her as she found herself standing at the gates of The X-men Manor... Her trudging feet kicked up dust with every other step. Luna finally felt nervous, scared... Should she go back? Would Kabal want her back? Would the order want her? For most likely the X-men wouldn't want a traitor like her back! She bit back a desire to shed tears as she strengthened her little resolve and breathed in the crisp august air. Where did I go?~
Is this the place I belong?~
Among the crowds of strange and wonderful?~ This Wonderland..~
As Luna took another breath she opened her hazel brown eyes as the bitter snap of the wind hit her ears and the rest of her face, instinctively she wrapped her arms around herself. Great she would get sick before she could make amends! Sighing a puff of air came forth as she sighed. She hated the cold... But that wasn't important. She was here for a reason, she was home for a reason... And no weather was going to stop her!
My Home, away from home~~
The Clock strikes one once more- tick tock, tickity tock~~~

For Shin, it was an average, run-of-the-mill Friday. The weather had been windy that morning. He'd bundled up in a warm pink sweater with a silk-screened lion across the chest for his walk with Thor. The lion shirt must've been for some sort of high school to show team spirit, Shin had guesstimated. The school's name was unfamiliar to him, and the lion, even more-so. It was just a secondhand shirt Shin had picked up at Goodwill on a random buying trip in the city. It was very pink. At the time, Shin had liked that. He'd thought it a bit ironic.
Gotta be a tough guy to pull off pink sweaters, huh? He'd smirked.
Although, at the time he'd neglected the followup thought Maybe that's only because tough guys have an image to protect, and it's manly masochists who never tear their pink sweatshirts off.
At work, he'd dressed down to the white undershirt beneath the sweater, and tugged the Full Circle apron on best he could to cover his chest. There was no use denying the fact that the white shirt didn't fit as well as he'd hoped. A bit of skin at the edge of his back showed between blue jeans and shirt. Shin shelved quickly and surreptitiously in order to avoid customer attention while he worked.
The drive home was nicer. It was so much better these days after he'd gained freedom from the cast. He got to ride his new motorcycle to and from work. He could dribble a basketball right-handed. Shin could even play Touhou on Sam's computer, and (Gasp!) win!!
That brings us to the current moment. Shin walked his appropriated Abysscycle up the last strip of sidewalk towards the mansion gates. His grip on the handlebar tightened as a vicious wind whipped by. Pink sweaters were great for covering torso, but they did nothing to cover face... shin was worried he'd lose it. He slapped a cheek to stimulate blood flow as he teetered towards iron bars.
Then he saw her. A young girl stood in front of the mansion, looking very cold. Shin's heart went out to her. He had to sympathize. If he'd thought to bring an overcoat, he'd of shared.
"Need help?" Shin asked. He popped the kickstand down in front of the green-haired girl and gave her a friendly smile.

Raina was going to have a jog this morning. She was determined to fit more exercise into her daily routine. But the summer had been fading fast. Usually September was so warm but the nip of frost was in the air this day. The leaves were starting to change as well.
She was just stretching her legs when she saw Shin pull up into the driveway. She waved but he didn't see her so she went to say hello but stopped when she saw him approach a young woman. She remained silent and peered for a moment. Was this a friend of Shins? It didn't look like a mansion... she stared longer. Could that be Luna? She hadn't seen Luna til they figured out she'd gone to live somewhere else without telling anyone. Raina could feel the instinctive lurch in her stomach from remembering the few days they thought she was missing. She wanted to run over there and let Luna know what she'd put them through but she held back and watched how the young woman interacted with Shin.

The bitter winds nipped at her ears and nose giving them a rosy shade. Her skin was paler now but not enough to be considered "sickly" still she felt the urge to sneeze. Unable to hold it back she sneezed lightly and sniffled. 'Great...' She began in thought. 'I have a cold coming along.. stupid cold...' Blinking she turn to the voice who addressed her, well there was no one else so she could only assume that it was her... Looking at the Asian man get off his motorcycle she blinked.
Luna never saw him before was he new? Well most likely as she had been gone for a quite awhile... She suddenly found her voice again through her thoughts. "Um... No I'm fine... um- may I ask who you are? I'm- an old resident from here... I'm Luna- Luna Highland." Luna gave no gesture to shake hands as the cold was annoying her and her fingers felt numb and to top it off her head was pounding from the cold temperatures! Yes defiantly a cold coming along... She was so distracted by Shin she had yet to notice Katrina who was entering the mansion grounds and observing her.

Probably the reason Luna hadn't noticed Katrina was because she was invisible. She was sitting on the wall, watching people come and go both inside and outside. And she was hiding. She didn't feel like talking to anyone. At this time of year every conversation was the same. “What classes are you taking”, “Oh, I'm in your third period”, “See you there!”, then both parties promptly forgot the other person's schedule again. It was incredibly pointless.
She used to be so good at all the pointless small talk. She wasn't sure if it was because she used to care about the other person's answers or if it was because she had cared about what the other people thought of her. She didn't worry so much about making a good impression on people she hardly knew, these days. She had had a bad experience with a stranger who had not been at all as he was trying to appear. All the pleasantries and small talk, it was all a lie. Anyone could hide under the mask of polite conversation: demons, devils, torturers, murderers, monsters, anyone.
People entered the lives of others quite easily with their pleasantries and most of the time they slipped away again just as easily.
Katrina's interest was piqued by a green head of hair that came in through the mansion gates. It seemed that sometimes those that flowed out of your life sometimes flowed back in again. If she was not mistaken, that girl down below was Luna, a former mansion student who had gone to live elsewhere. There had been a bit of a panic when she had disappeared, but that was not uncommon. The mansion staff had an incredibly difficult time keeping track of their students as they flowed in and out. The building functioned almost more like a homeless shelter that offered a couple of classes on the side than it did like a school. It was nearly impossible to tell if the people in your classes would still be there by the end of the term. Another reason it was so pointless to compare schedules: someone might tell you they will sit next to you in art class then disappear without a trace the next day. The mansion staff would do their digging and figure out that the kid had moved back in with his mother in California, or whatever the story was.
Luna, though. Luna was her age. She deserved at least a hello. A lazy one, before she disappeared again. She closed her eyes and focused only on the image of Luna standing below.
Hello Luna, welcome back. Her voice whispered in Luna's ear so only she could hear it.
She opened her eyes again. She'd lost her invisibility to the world by focusing only on Luna for that little illusion. Damn. She'd have to see if she could iron out that little kink. Ah well, she was laying on top of the brick wall. They probably wouldn't see her anyway.

"Luna," Shin repeated, committing the name to memory. So she was a green-haired girl, once a mansion resident, and currently chilling by the front gates of the mansion. Well, if she was once a student here, she'd have his trust... and they really needed to do something about that stealthy shiver. Pink sweater shed like a corn husk as Shin pulled it up and over his head. He underhand-tossed the pink sweater gently to the green-haired girl with a smile, then instantly felt the effects of the cold. He clapped his hands together, breathing on them as they rubbed together. "My name's S-s-shin. W-welcome back to the Mansion. Gee, it's cold. Let's see about getting you indoors where it's warmer."
The buttons collapsed inwards as Shin pressed numbed fingers on the number pad. With a noiseless groan, the gates swung open. Shin glanced back at Luna just in time to catch Katrina’s clandestine appearance. Oh ho! She’d been spying on them? Sneaky.
“Hey Kat,” He waved, walking over to his motorbike. He gripped the handlebars, and wheeled it through the gates. The gold helmet wagged back and forth by the strap near his hands. “Want to come down and get out of the cold?”

Raina decided now might be a good time to speak up. "I think you should all come in and get out of the cold!" she yelled with a wave from the front door step. She hopped off it and shoved her hands into her front pockets as she scurried down the walk to where everyone was.. she heard Shin say Katrina but glancing around Raina didn't see her anywhere.
Katrina was a nice enough kid... but to be honest her powers freaked Raina out a bit.
"Shin." she said with a nod then turned her eyes to Luna as she arrived. 'Ah, I recognize that green hair." Luna wasn't a child anymore. There before her stood a very young woman. "hello Luna. it's nice to see you again." said Raina with a forced calm smile. It wasn't that she didn't feel sincerely happy to see Luna... it was that she felt sincerely relieved and it was hard at this point to keep her upper lip from twitching...

Luna nodded to shin as she agreed she then caught the pink seater and quickly put it on thanking Shin quietly and was a now a little more warmer then before. Hearing the voice of Katrina however spooked the young teen as she almost whipped around in fright! Sighing feeling the feeling in her hands again from adrenaline rush as she looked to see the other girl in front of her. "T-Thanks?" The green haired mutantness managed to speak with a chattered tongue. Luna began wondering who else has changed or came to the mansion while she had been gone? 'Most likely alot of people.. I feel so.. left out now...' Keeping her thoughts to herself she looked once more to the sound of Raina's voice asking them if they wished to get inside- where there was heat...
The petite doll like girl held back the desire to yell "HELL YES!" but refrained and simply nodded huddling her hands together as she ran up to Raina. "I-It's nice to see you a-again Raina!" Luna spoke with atone of being well cold. "Um.. can we get inside?-um please?"
[Sorry for the absence, and do we move this on in this thread or do we move to another board and make a new thread?]
Heh, the sillies thought it was cold out. To Katrina it had ceased being cold about thirty minutes ago. The weather just took some getting used to; an hour or so lying on the top of the stone cold wall and you wouldn't even notice that you couldn't feel your fingers and toes anymore. Numb, that's what she was, inside and outside numb all over.
The one thing she did feel was a small bit of satisfaction when Luna sharply turned her head in response to the illusive whisper she had created. It wasn't that she wanted to startle the girl, she was just glad to see her illusion work the way it was supposed to; only Luna was supposed to hear it and only Luna had. The part she had to fix was that she had a hard time keeping a regular illusion going at the same time as one of the personal ones, which is how Shin spotted her.
Ah well, it was probably time to come down anyway, before she became a permanent fixture frozen on top of the wall. This school had enough gargoyles running around it didn't need a decorative fourteen year old girl sculpture as well.
The little illusionist sat up, rubbed her arms and legs to put some feeling back into them, decided that it was probably about time to put away the summer dresses and take out the drabber, more boring, but warmer winter clothes. Should have done it a week ago. Where had the summer gone?
When she was certain her limbs were in good working order (an important task to complete when one is about to walk along the top of an eight foot tall balance beam) she stood and made her way to th tree that served as her ladder up the wall. Within a matter of moments she had scampered down the familiar branch staircase and found herself next to Shin and Luna.
"Well, let's go." She wasn't cold, and those weren't goosebumps on her bare arms and legs. She was just worried about the two shivering popsicles next to her that seemed so anxious to get inside and sit by the fire that was undoubtedly blazing in the library fire place or find a cup of hot chocolate that was undoubtedly brewing in the kitchen. Or snuggle up under a blanket with a big furry personal furnace with a wet black nose. Naw, she wasn't cold. It was all them.

The vote was in. An overwhelming positive on the 'get inside' standpoint. Shin gave a placating nod, and pushed his motorbike through the gates. It was slow going. Perhaps, pushing motorcycles wasn't the way to get them to the garage. But to run it across the path towards the front doors of the mansion risked damaging the lovely lawn. And then there was the group of people behind him, rife with conversation topics and intrigue. Oh, how he wished he were a teleporter right now, rather than an ex-cast reject for the title of 'Blue Bomber'.
"So." He turned his head to face Raina, Luna, and the Kat on his right. Usually, this is where polite conversation came about. Shin let the 'so' hang there a moment before his next line of thought came around. "Cocoa?" And maybe S'mores. Glorious S'mores.
