The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As soon as earphones were on her ears, Alexandra started to hum the tune played by her I pod. With the device secured on her belt, the molecule manipulator opened the door of her room and walked out.
After her morning training and a quick shower it was time for break fast and then… the nightmare that paperwork at the Infirmary represented.
Two students rushing for their class went past her, almost knocking her down. Alexandra took a small step back, hopefully enough to avoid any morning accidents. And luckily it did. With a quick hello and an excuse, they were on their way. Shrugging, the molecule manipulator moved once again, heading for the kitchen.
Her head moved slightly from side to side as she enjoyed the music, occasionally closing her eyes while letting her feet carry her across the mansion hallways and down the stairs.
She’d almost reached the living room by the time she opened her eyes.
And she froze in the door frame, starring at the familiar Asian face.
A quick decision made the way to her mind.
All breakfast plans were to be aborted for the moment.
The ‘we’ll talk about it later’ that Shin had dropped on their previous conversation was hanging above her head like a brick ready to fall. Certainly, morning talks about how Shin had asked her if he could join her in the shower were not on her to-do list for the day.
Shaking her head, Alexandra turned around, ready to skitter to the Infirmary.

Oh, it was a beautiful day in the mansion. A beautiful day for a sweater. Would it be his? Why yes, it was his.
Had he ever told anyone else how he had liked wearing sweaters so thoroughly? Could he have been lying? Why no, he wasn't lying. Shin certainly wouldn't lie to a neighbor. No, he'd just sit around on a day off, wearing a hand-knit pink sweater his grandma had made for him so long ago, watching Mister Rogers on television, because there was nothing better to watch at that time of day.
King Friday was at it again, Shin noted. Maybe, he'd have to recruit a team of teens with attitude this time? Shin stifled a yawn.
"Oh, Mister Rogers. You already interviewed the plumber..." He'd seen this episode at least once before. Why wasn't anything better on, Shin wondered. His eyes drew up over the back of the couch as he slithered his back over the back like a snake. What did the clock on the wall say again? Shin squinted at it.
The sound of footsteps in the hall drew his attention away from peering at the clock. Eyes fell on the back of a certain mansion resident who was swiftly hurrying away. Shin slipped over the couch's back, onto the floor as realization sank in.
Hey, wait a minute! He'd wanted to talk to her! Why was she running? Was she avoiding him!!? That wouldn't do. They needed to have that talk and get things out in the open!! Because he couldn't deal with things if their relationship was strained. Sam would worry about Shin, and Shin didn't want either him, or Alexandra to worry! Mister Rogers could wait! He was such a good neighbor with his waiting, after all.
Shin took off down the hall after her. "Hey, Alexandra! Wait!"
Alexandra stopped. Letting her shoulders down in defeat she guided her foot in line with the other. Sigh. Probably Shin didn’t call her to ask for her opinion on just how well he was sporting that knitted pink sweater. She breathed in and with a brave look on her face, spun on her heels until she was facing the Asian.
“H-Hi, Shin.” She made a quite not so long, but still disturbing pause. “Nice sweater.” she said, with a casual look thrown to the said piece of clothing. Also, she smiled. Casually, of course. Blue eyes moved on from the sea of pink to the hazel of his eyes. And she was still smiling.
Her compliment was met with narrowed eyes. Alexandra wanted to pout. What?! She was being truthful, of course.
"We need to talk."
That didn’t sound good. Her hopes of postponing the conversation for a later date… like never, for example, went out the window. Smile faded away, shoulders sunk even lower. Alexandra sighed. “We do?”
And she blinked, in a not so innocent or casual way.

"Yeah," Shin replied with crossed arms and a frown. "We do. About why you were avoiding me, and that uncomfortable shift you gave when I asked you if I'd done anything to make you think I was exhibiting untoward behavior way back when. Because I'm fairly certain I wasn't, and I'd like to know what I did to make you think I was..."
They had to get this clarified and out in the open. Shin couldn't deal with stupid secrets and avoided topics. That wasn't how he worked! He was an 'all, or nothing' kind of guy. He'd been honest when he told Kasumi he had worries about her joining the X-men. He'd been honest when he told Sam he couldn't be paired with her, because he was certain he'd fawn, and do something sloppy in the act of overtly protecting her. He'd been honest when he said he liked Kasumi over any other girl in the world, and how she was perfect just the way she was (the kind of perfection that couldn't be improved upon by a Mega level, or any Ultimate form).
He was honest. Shin had hoped everyone else could be honest too.
Shin frowned. Alexandra, without much of a thought frowned as well. This was a true dilemma for her. Shin claimed he was fairly certain that he hadn’t done anything. On the other side, she clearly remembered that, not such a long time ago, the Asian had asked her if he could join her in the shower. Several times, too.
Pursing her lips together, Alexandra mimicked Shin’s position. Arms were crossed in front of her, weight was shifted on one leg. Fine. He’d asked for it. “Okay. Apparently, you seem to have forgotten. Let me refresh your memory.” Frown, pause, frown. She lowered her voice as she spoke, in case any mansion resident was nearby. Last thing she needed was someone broadcasting her problem with Shin all over the Mansion. “The day we got out tattoos sounds familiar to you?” she asked in a matter-of-factly tone. Then she paused, searching for any reaction Shin might have or he might try hide.

"... got my what now?" Shin stared at Alexandra. "I... I have no idea what you're talking about... last I checked, I didn't have any tattoos... "
Worry's a funny thing. Shin was fairly certain he had his facts straight about the many intricacies of his own body. His 'have' and 'have nots' had been firmly outlined in all the times he was conscious, and noting of such factors... yet, still... he worried she knew something he didn't. Because, for a time, he'd been a big red monkey man and peed in closets... and she didn't know that.
Shin felt something kick, deep within his gut. His voice squeaked. He didn't even consciously want it to squeak! "When exactly..." Squeaky squeak. "Was this, again...?"
Alexandra decided that it was time to stare confused at Shin. Did amnesia hit him all of a sudden or what? She shrugged. Why was so important when it happened? “I don’t know… A couple of weeks ago… ” Shrug, shrug. I mean, that was something that you kind of wanted to forget rather than remember exactly when it happened. She took a hand to her chin, scratching it lightly while trying to remember something more helpful. “Back when you had the cast…” Shrug, shrug.
One hand slid down to her side, with the other she braced herself. “And you do have a tattoo. It’s on your right cheek. Or… left? I don’t know. I tried not to pay too much attention to your butt.”
Blue were her eyes as she shifted them from side to side. Red were her cheeks as she spoke.

"I... wrong answer." Shin's jaw dropped. He was stunned. "Alexandra, how could you?"[/color] Asian eyes wavered. "A tattoo where!? That isn't even... why would you-- ugh!" Shin turned, thrusting his hands through his hair. He felt like tearing out chunks of it, then and there.
"Alex, I thought you had more sense than that! Some big goon parades around in my body, I act strangely, and your first inclination is to... to what? Do something irreparable to my body?! How many television shows go that route with the doppelganger? You ask questions only the true Shin would know! You don't press your luck, acting hopeful they'll have some sense sweep through them." Shin was pacing now, mind fervently racing for the next words.
"I! ... Sorry. I realize I'm shouting, but... a tattoo where. I couldn't possibly remember getting that. You see, when that happened... likely, I was Abyss."
Shin was stunned?! Alexandra was stunned! Why was she being blamed for… for what exactly was she being blamed? She blinked, looking at Shin shocked. This wasn’t fair at all! Before Shin could have ended his sentence, Alexandra was already voicing out her opinion.
“Hey, wait! I don’t get it! Why am I getting blamed for-”

"I. Don't. Know!! But I was him. And he was me. And stuff happened, and it was insanity. And if you don't believe me, ask Kasumi. Because She was Jaxon too... and Hymn... swapped with Ghost, and... I need to sit down," Shin staggered back towards the living room, and flopped into a chair. He massaged his temples.
This was intense. He had a tattoo, and she'd helped him get one? And Abyss had paraded around in his body... and all of this junk... he hated remembering that week. Though it had its good parts, it still had its white flares... like seeing the way people stared at a big red monkey man with a visible mutation... or seeing the distrust in Shawn's eyes. Alexandra hadn't known it. That was obvious... and while Shin had woken at the sanctuary, his body must have woken in his room.
Shin arched his fingers in front of him, slouching forward in thought. "So, I was Abyss, and Abyss was me... and while I went bike-riding, he ran free..." Shin's eyes were serious. This was a lot to figure out.
Stop. Way to may information coming her way. Who was Jaxon? Who was Hymn? And most importantly, who was Abyss?! Alexandra followed Shin quietly, and slowed down to a stop near the couch. Folding her arms, she leaned against the arm of the couch and watched Shin.
"So, I was Abyss, and Abyss was me... and while I went bike-riding, he ran free..."
The initial shock had passed… at least most of it. A question arose on top of the others. “How the hell did you get switched with this Abyss?”

Shin's face faltered. "I'm not... I'm not sure... it just happened... and then, a couple weeks later, it -unhappened-. As in, reversed. I'm not sure how. I'm not sure why... I just know it did, and it was weird..."
Ultra weird. Like 'are you actually believing me, i don't believe myself' weird. Shin knew what he was saying sounded crazy. He knew it was far too much information, far too quickly, and far too close to a bold-faced lie than he'd have wanted. He knew that. The look on Alexandra's face spelled it out for him. Her arms were crossed. She was leaning. He didn't need body language to tell him his story was a longshot.
"The details are a bit hazy. I can't remember exactly what happened during that few weeks. All I know is that when you helped my body get that tattoo... that wasn't me. You honestly have to believe me. And I would never... get a tattoo." He paused, and stared at her. "What else did my body do?"
With a hand on her heart, Alexandra could honestly say that she … didn’t understand a thing. She blinked, blinked, blinked. Awkward…
And yet, in the same time, a weight was taken of her shoulders. For weeks she’d felt that that episode with Shin was waaay too strange for Shin to be Shin. And now, she was confusing herself.
Alexandra shrugged, unsure if she should tell Shin what exactly had happened back then. But, then again, Shin wanted honesty and since it wasn’t him who did all those things…
“Well, I don’t know what your body did with others… but… with me… This Shinabyss…” Deep breath. “Asked me if he could go in the shower with me, several times… and… well, this kind of things.” Again, Alexandra shrugged, while avoiding Shin’s eyes. Whoever was in Shin’s body…well. It was in Shin’s body and it still made her feel awkward. “I was suspicious and that tattoo thing…, well, it was just to check if it was you and it wasn’t the first thing I asked or the only one. It…” Blue eyes took a sneak peek at Shin. “It simply happened and there wasn’t much I could do about.” Alexandra sighed. “Dunno, Shin. You could have tried to contact someone at the Mansion while you were in another body. This wouldn’t have happened.”
