The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The hallways were dark and silent. Since it was the middle of the night, it could hardly be otherwise. Most people, after all, were in their beds, sleeping, recharging their bodies for the day ahead.
Then a giggle drifted through the air, and in the next moment, a blonde-haired girl in white peered around the corner.
This was definately a place she had never been before, Jess decided. What happened to the other set of dark and silent hallways? Oh well, that didn't matter. Time to explore all the nooks and crannies here! Who knows, maybe she'd make some new friends tonight.
The girl skipped off down the corridor, her giggles echoing behind her.
Aura had just come back from a particularly brutal fight, her clothing was torn and her hair was out of place, In her hand was a broken bone she had actually used to fight for part of the battle, their was still enough of it left where aura figured she could use it for something. Maybe she was just tired though.Aura sleepy ears perked up at the sound of a giggle looking around she saw nothing at first. Shaking her head Aura started toward her room but heard the noise again.
Finally seeing the blonde girl she rubbed her eyes, ever for sanctuary it seemed like an odd sight approaching the rather happy girl Aura did her best to smile and be pleasant, she was likely new after all. "Hello, how are you?" she said noting the tired feeling in her voice, despite her attempts to hide it "Are you looking for anything?" she asked really hoping the girl would tell her no, so she could go and collapse ion her bed.

Jess's smile widened. Signs of life! The girl skipped towards the sound, and turned the corner.
Aha! There she was! She seemed a little... beat up? What had happened? Oh look, she was approaching. The blonde-haired girl smiled and tossed her hair to a side, stretching her hands behind the small of her back.
"Hello, how are you? Are you looking for anything?"
"I'm fine!" she chirped. Then she tilted her head to a side. "How are you?"
"I'm all right, a bit tired from..." Aura paused and tilted her head. "...practice" she said, it was a lie of course. Aura could not just openly admit she murdered people. Aura after all went through a lot of trouble to keep her activity hidden. She mostly kept to alleyways and never came straight to the sanctuary even more so when she knew she had cops trailing her. Leaning against her door Aura fumbled for her lighter and realized she no longer had it.
"Are you new, im pretty sure i have not seen you before" Aura said which was true though Aura tended to stick to the later hours anyway, again to help hide her activity as her actions were widely known. Not that many cops were brave enough to try and attack the sanctuary anyway or arrest somone in it, they had tried something like that she had heard and she had also heard how well it went. "My name is Aura and yours?" she asked decided the girl was on the cute side.
"Ah always good to meet a new mutant friend" Aura said realizing she likely was not getting to her bed soon, instead she resigned herself to finding out what she could about this new mutant. Finding out about new mutants was a hobby of hers and she figured this girl had to be a mutant after all, she was at sanctuary and it had been seen to that Humans no longer lived there. Aura was very glad for that fact, not that many had in the first place or at least not while Aura lived here. "Well welcome to sanctuary, i work and live here myself" She said trying to make her voice cheerful though her lack of sleep was evident or so she thought.
Aura smiled for a moment and then brought up her hand "Watch this" she willed her Aura to form around her hand, Aura then reshaped it into a knife like blade, then a drill and finally to axe before making it appear as though her Aura moved up her Arm and began to fade into her mouth. She hoped the girl would like the show.
Aura started to bring her hand out to the girl, but pulled back realizeing her hand wa sstill stained with sweat and blood. "My hand is unclean, my friend, can i ask what you can do however?" she said trying to sound friendly still.

"Ah, always nice to meet a new mutant friend."
Jess tilted her head to a side. Mutant? So that meant that she was a mutant too? Oh well, it didn't really matter. Somehow she felt that it made sense. More importantly, yay new friend! The girl beamed widely.
"Well, welcome to Sanctuary, I work and live here myself."
"Work? What sort of work?" Jess's voice was charged with a bubbling curiousity. Then the older woman had brought up her hand.
"Watch this."
The blonde girl dutifully watched the display in front of her. That was amazing!... but why were the shapes all weapon-like? Oh wait, the aura was moving to the mouth... look, it just faded! Jess squealed in delight, and clapped her hands. The choice of shape wasn't that important anyway.
"My hand is unclean, my friend, can I ask what you do however?"
Now she tapped her finger on her chin. The woman in front of her was full of mysteries, and she had a million and one questions to ask her. But first she needed to answer the woman's question.
"What do I do?" she echoed. After a moment, she grinned. "I make friends! I want to make lots and lots of friends!"
"I sell insurance to the local residents, you see not all Mutants are good and some cause a lot of damage, so i help them with that" she said which was not quite the truth. Aura figured they prolbely would help them if they had to but mostly it was protection money from the order itself. The kid however had no need to know that after all even if she did live here, she was not of the order. "I also help welcome new residents to our home, as their are no humans here, we can be safe and use our powers as we like" she said which was true provided they did not get to destructive.
"I was more referring to your power, i enjoy seeing mutant powers, i find them all quite beautiful" she said truthfully, Aura decided to sit down on the floor and leaned back against her door, with a yawn, she could always sleep later she supposed. "I know some of our kind are scared or even hate their powers, but none of should they are apart of us like your hair or eyes and should be used" she said again smiling.
"Making friends is good though, and i try to amke many as well" she said with a laugh after thinking about the girls answer. She was weird and young, but she had also met a man who could have been her ancestor the other day, so she guesse dit wa snot all that weird.

"I sell insurance to the local residents, you see not all Mutants are good and some cause a lot of damage, so I help them with that."
"Insurance?" The girl wrapped her tongue about that word with a little difficulty, and blinked owlishly. "So you protect them from all the bad mutants?"
"I also help welcome new residents to our home, as there are no humans here, we can be safe and use our powers as we like."
"Oh! I know! You're a greeter!" Now Jess beamed widely once again. The older woman seemed a little tired, now that she took a closer look. That was the problem with this time of day. Everyone was either asleep or preparing to sleep. Maybe she shouldn't keep her too long... but not yet.
"I was more referring to your power. I enjoy seeing mutant powers. I find them all quite beautiful. I know some of our kind are scared or even hate their powers, but none of us should; they are a part of us like your hair or eyes and should be used."
Oooh, so that was what she was referring to... powers? Did she have powers? She hadn't really thought about it, but it must be true, otherwise she wouldn't be here. Right? Why would someone hate-
-Breeze. Right. There was a reason. Where was Breeze anyway? She'd figure that out later.
"Making friends is good though, and I try to make many as well."
"Mmhmm!" The blonde skipped up to the older woman, and leaned slightly over, putting her hands on her knees. "Oh! I know! I can sing you a song! Would you like to hear a song?"
"Pretty much, we try and keep people houses from being flattened" she said which was sorta true though Order members were normelly the ones who did the remodeling. Still this girl did not need to know that. "Yes i am, many come here with no ware else to go becuse their parents hate them for being what we are mutants. Some of their parents tried to hurt them or their power shave gotten them into bad sitautaions" she said which was very true at least to aura's eyes.
"Sing me a song?" Aura said the idea took more then a few moments for the brown haired teenager to process. No one she recalled had ever offered to sing for her, at least not that she recalled anyway. "Sure that would eb nice" she said and it did sound nice to her. She rarely listened to music and a ssuch did not know much of it. The only songs she recalled were the hymns Miracle had sang to them, but she was sure that was not quite music much less what this girl was speaking of..

"Pretty much, we try and keep people's houses from being flattened."
"Cool!" Jess beamed at the older woman. This lady seemed nice, even if she was a little tired. The strange choice of shapes for the aura was already pushed far back into the depts of her mind.
"Yes I am, many come here with nowhere else to go because their parents hate them for being what we are - mutants. Some of their parents tried to hurt them or their powers have gotten them into bad situations."
Tried to hurt them? Something was nagging now at the back of her mind. Maybe this place of corridors wasn't so different from that other place of corridors. But what was it? Oh, right, a place to stay. Hmm. Didn't she want to find a nice and cozy place?
Oh, right!
But first, a song. She had just promised her new friend - Aura, wasn't it? - that she would sing for her, and she would.
The girl straightened up and skipped back a few paces. She clasped her hands behind her, and tilted her head slightly upwards, much like a nightingale preening herself before her melody.
Then she closed her eyes, and sang. The soothing tones of the Romanian lullaby washed over Aura, flowing gently through the corridors.
The song was strange and seemed calming to Aura though she dismissed this as a result of her getting her second wind. She smiled as she listened to the song. The song was nice and Aura straightened herself against the wall to better sit as she watched this mysterious young girl and tried to consider her for more then just her singing or appearance. She might have been to young for her powers to show or manifest.
Aura in the back of her mind noted the girl never answered her question, still she was young and her power, as she noted might not have appeared yet. Either way she was a child and Aura would not openly murder her even if she was a human, though in that case, she might well be in danger in this place. SOme did not have Aura's restraint and from what she had heard that was saying something.
Aura hoped she was a mutant that would be great, aura thought to herself as she listened to the girls, song and rubbed her eyes a few times, her Aura flared up lightly around her skin as she lost focus and it came into it's appearance. SHe smiled at the girl, trying to remain friendly to her as she sang..
