The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Keeping his comments to himself Sam decided it best not to say anything to further upset Alex like ‘Didn’t you just talk to it?’ frowning slightly as he leaned his head back against the elevator he continued on with keeping quite, further upsetting Alex was counter productive and when she said things like preferring to melt than ask for his help he knew words like this were meant to engage in a conflict. Something he wanted to avoid now seeing as she was currently intoxicated. A conflict with Alex wasn’t something he would normally try to avoid but if something needed to be said he would say it, however her being inebriated made him reluctant to say anything that would come off as a major challenge to the woman.
Alex continued to talk to the elevator and sure enough the contraption started to shake. Instinctively Sam bent his knees and took a step towards Alex ready to grab her if something was indeed going to go wrong. The shaking of the elevator continued as Sam became calmer and more familiar with the tug upwards. The lights in the elevator lit up as they passed one floor then the next, and finally when they reached their level the elevator came to an abrupt halt. The doors opened and a familiar voice sounded.
Trying to pay the voice little mind Sam muttered a “thanks” and exited the elevator and hopped from the ledge back to the floor, it wasn’t a big drop but someone who was a little tipsy could have a problem with it. Reaching his hand up to Alex and offering a weak smile Sam didn’t say anything. It seemed, as the way things were he should pick his words carefully and if he couldn’t say anything right at the moment it was best to say nothing at all.
The elevator apparently moved on her demand. Of course, the problem was, she hadn’t requested for all those sudden movements.
Balance - a state of bodily equilibrium.
Alexandra did not possess it. As soon as the elevator started to move, her feet were quick to betray her. Alert! Incoming wall- Scratch that. Incoming Sam. Alexandra landed exactly in Sam’s arms. She gave a short look up, more of a reproachful look, as if Sam was the one guilty of the sudden disappearance of her equilibrium.
Hmph-ing, she pushed herself off of him and did her best to grab whatever that could be grabbed inside the elevator and hold on for dear life.
By the time the elevator stopped, she was holding a hand on her belly and groaning. She was sick. Why did everyone consider that she was a sack of potatoes today? A mystery that was. The doors finally opened, and her first instinct was to throw herself out of the damn box. However, she just eyed the opening. Then Sam exiting and offering his hand to help her.
Blue eyes trailed up to him, throwing him a short glance. He smiled. She didn’t. With a straight face she bent down slowly and picked up the jacket that had fallen off her arm sometime when she was fighting for her dignity balance. Careful, she straightened herself up, and, taking a deep breath and keeping her eye on the exit, she ignored Sam and his offer of help completely, and went past him, only her arm brushing against him for a brief moment. Pft. She would have rather crawled out of the stupid elevator rather than accept Sam’s help.
As soon as she was out of the damned thing, Alexandra turned around and looked at Kaz. Then, she eyed the elevator. “Kazzel…” Her free hand went up to her chin, scratching it lightly while her eyes trailed back up to Kaz. “Did you just pull the elevator up?” She asked, although the answer was pretty much obvious and she already knew it.

"You're welcome." Kaz smirked even though he knew Sam wouldn't see it. He watched the near silent exchange between Alex and Sam and smiled a bit more while shaking his head a bit. 'Stubborn.' He thought as he watched, he nearly added prideful to it, but stopped himself as he thought of how Alex had 'asked' for help earlier. Stubborn still, though that wasn't exactly a bad thing.
Alex's tone when she spoke caught his attention and saw her scratching her chin a bit before she asked if he'd pulled the elevator. He raised one eyebrow curiously, a bit unsure why she was asking, it seemed obvious to him. The only thing he could think of was that she didn't really know the extent of his strength. "Why yes m'dear, I did." He paused for a moment unsure if he would elaborate further or not. Shrugging slightly, "I overheard Abrams on the phone, saying you two were trapped in the elevator. Told him I'd see if there was anything I could do to help."

Becoming more and more frustrated with the situation he was in he was continued to be ignored by Alex. Hearing Kaz’s voice Sam frowned more clearly Kaz wasn’t aware what ‘remain hidden because mutants are being rounded up and tossed in camps because of what they were’ meant that he shouldn’t reveal himself as a mutant, and lifting an elevator was in his opinion counter productive to that goal, and then there was the secrecy factor he will now have to deal with when conversing with Kaz in public where they could be linked together as ‘fellow mutants’ the eyes and ears might have been a giveaway but they could be concealed the brute strength would defiantly be harder to play off.
Wishing the day would be over so everything that happened tonight could be either forgotten or forgiven Sam looked from Kaz to Alex and then said simply, ”Just remember we are supposed to remain low key, I don’t want you getting carted off somewhere because you were sticking out like a sore thumb… but thanks…”
Sam tapped Alex on the shoulder and said, ”Now come on beauty time to put you to bed or the beast will have to carry you there…” he said simply as he motioned towards the hallway where both his room and hers resided. He didn’t want to carry her or force her into her room but if he had to he would, to many things were happening and a drunken Alex who was threatening the head receptionist wasn’t help any.
Alexandra rolled her eyes at Sam. Yawning, she looked back at Kaz then smiled. “Thanks God at least someone is not against me today.” Alexandra said with a small, approving nod. Well, Kazzel did interfere between her and Abram and the ride with the elevator had been bumpy but at least he did back off when she had asked him to and, he did saved her from being stuck in an elevator with the beast. “Thank ya Kazzel!”
”Now come on beauty time to put you to bed or the beast will have to carry you there…”
The smile faded from her lips as she turned around to face Sam. “Back off you lil’ beast. I can handle myself pretty well.” Spinning on her heels and with the stop being a bit of a failure as her vision started to be hazy, she started to walk toward her room using the wall as a support when needed, and, of course, she started to sing at the top of her lungs.
“Now that it’s raining more than ever Know that we’ll still have each other, You can stand under my umbrella You can stand under my umbrella!”
Alexandra stopped singing as she reached the door of her room, and, unfortunately, the key refused to come out of her pocket. Growling, she pulled harder, spilling a few other contents of her pocket before she could actually retrieve the key. Without even noticing that her wallet was resting on the floor along with her phone, she tried to open the door. Yes, tried, because it took a few attempts before managing to even get the key into the lock.
Once the door opened, with a victorious smile upon her face, and without even bothering to retrieve the keys from the door, Alexandra pushed the door open. Man that was one hell of a night. Stumbling in, she kicked the door closed with her leg.
The jacket that was still laying on one of her arms flew trough the air and landed on the floor while Alexandra fought with the light switch. Finally, the lights shone brightly. She winced. Damn, she didn’t see a thing. Only lights, dancing in front of her eyes.
Yeah, one hell of a night. Sighing, she wondered what her champagne was doing. Oh, she would have loved to have her champagne with her right now. A few more drinks, a shower and then-
PARADISE!
Why hadn’t she noticed that there was a mini-bar in her room? A goofy smile appeared on her lips. Victory was hers! With the same smile on her face she walked over to the bar and retrieved one of the bottles. It didn’t matter what it was, really. It was alcohol, and alcohol made her forget and that was exactly what she needed. Sighing, she opened the bottle and put it to her mouth, gulping down a pretty large quantity out of it. Hell, she didn’t even feel the taste until she didn’t take the bottle away from her lips.
It was kind of bitter. Or, at least that’s how it tasted to her.
She took another, gulp, then another and another, till the familiar sensation of dizziness came back. Sam, Abram, everything faded away in the pool of alcohol dancing around her head. The blissful forgetfulness took over her and she was happy. The mission, the regrets, they would have to wait until tomorrow. All that mattered now was that alcohol made her forget, ignore, whatever, all the troubles she was in.
The bottle found its way to her lips again, before being placed back on the bar in a certainly not very soft manner. Sigh. What was next on her list? Oh yes, shower. A shower, so the annoying sensation that made her skin feel like it was on fire would disappear. Yes, shower, then, she’d spend the rest of the night with her best buddy right now, the bottle on the bar.
Yawning, she lazily took of her shirt, and ready to throw it away, she turned around, her intention to walk over to the bathroom while unclothing herself.

Kaz chuckled at Sam before he looked at Alex. "You're welcome." He could tell she was very glad to to out of the elevator, which made Kaz want to know what exactly happened inside it. He quickly weighed asking now (or soon) and asking later, as in the next day or so. Considering how drunk she seemed, soon would probably be best, but later would be easier. He shook his head slightly as she turned and snapped a bit at Sam before making her way towards her room singing. It made him smile.
"You don't get it do you. They've known what I am since I got here." From his perch on top of the elevator he looked at the man. "Besides, in this place, money talks, and when my room costs me $3500 a day, and I'm paying them half that again, they listen very well. Of course my company is quite well known, they wouldn't want that type of bad press. Seeing as I am the sole owner of it, it's not hard to believe I have some technical skills, so getting this thing," He knocked on it a few times, "To move, or getting you two out, isn't so far fetched."
He stood up and back from the doors, "So do me a favor Sam: Keep your 'thanks' and stop thinking you're the only one with a working brain." Kaz bent his knees a bit and jumped into the shaft, the pressure he exerted on the elevator caused it to shake a bit. A few more 'hops' had Kaz up to his floor. Holding himself in place next to the door, he placed his ear against it and listened carefully. When he was sure no one was around on the other side, he pried the door open and slipped into the hall and shifted back to normal.
A slight wave of dizziness swept over him. He placed a hand on the wall so he wouldn't fall. The dizziness passed quickly and Kaz made his way to his room. He hadn't made it too the bathroom to wash up when there was someone at the door. "Yes?" He called as he pulled a knife from his ankle sheath. "Your champagne Sir." Oh, right, he had forgotten about that. Putting the blade away, he opened the door. The woman at the door looked at his hands, "Ah, sorry, I just got back to my room. Tell Abrams I couldn't get the elevator moving, but the two are no longer stuck inside." The woman brought the three bottles inside and began to set them on the bar. "Actually.." Kaz slipped the woman a few bills as a tip and sent her to deliver to Alex's room, and another to Jewel or Streaks room. He knew how Alex and Sam were, but Jewel didn't seem to resist Streak, in fact she had seemed quite happy when he carried her away.
After the woman left, Kaz called room service for some more food to be delivered to the room while he cleaned up.

Thinking of arguing further with Kaz on why exposing himself as a mutant was not only dangerous but stupid beyond belief, even if he was paying them it was a game of chance, maybe some of the staff didn’t believe in money over doing their civic duty to their government which was already putting a price on all mutants heads. Sam’s attention was called to Alex who was now singing at the top of her lungs down the hallway. Taking his fingers and placing them to his temples Sam rubbed them once then twice and then trailed after her deciding that the entire team was going to learn what secrecy meant, because it was clear that neither of them knew what the word entailed.
As they left Kaz at the elevator Sam chased Alex all the way to her room and watched her fumble with the key. Contents of her pockets spilled out onto the floor Sam reached down to pick them up and made an attempt to enter the room after his drunken girlfriend but was forced to jump back as the door came inches from slamming in his face. Frowning an muttering quietly Sam took the key Alex left in the door and replaced it then walked into her room one of his hands holding all of the contents that were once in her pockets while the other closed the door behind him.
Entering the room and pulling the key from the slot Sam turned around to see a stripping Alex walking to the bathroom. ”Really?” Sam asked with a sigh as he turned around for a moment not wanting to take advantage of this situation to scope out Alex’s rocking body. ”Can you put your shirt back on?” Sam asked mentally kicking himself that he of all people was saying that to his girlfriend nonetheless, ”We need to talk”
… And Alexandra stopped, one foot remaining in the air for a few seconds while blue eyes remained locked on Sam. So. What exactly was Sam doing in her room? Did he possess some special power which allowed him to walk trough walls or what? And, apparently, he did love to do everything she told him not to. Alexandra frowned, the thought of yelling at him crossing her mind for a moment. That is, before Sam spoke.
”Can you put your shirt back on? We need to talk.”
Her mouth closed. She was annoyed. Good, if Sam ignored every little thing she told him, so be it. She could play that game. While blatantly ignoring the fact that she was wearing only a bra in the presence of a male, Alexandra frowned again as she let the damn shirt fall from her hand. “Aaand, why would I do anythin' you tell me to do?” Alexandra asked, now starring at Sam’s back. She took a deep breath, while she picked up the bottle from the bar again, and took another swig out of it.
“It’s myyy room, I didn’t invite you in and I’m gonna do whateeever I want in it.” She blinked lazily, looking in the direction Sam was in, but not exactly seeing Sam. Or at least not seeing only one Sam. “I caaan take aaaall of my clothes off.” She shrugged, snorting at the ice mancer. “And you can’t do anythin' about it.” Laughing at Sam, she took the bottle to her lips once, drinking again, before walking over to Sam. “Got it beast?” She asked while poking his chest with a finger.

Feeling the poke to his chest he sighed and turned to face Alex, succeeding in keeping his eyes off her chest seeing as his vision was distracted by not only the bottle in her hand but the lazy look on her face showing that not only was she drunk but she was tired as well. Sam reached up with one hand to the hand that's she had used to poke him with and his hand clamped around hers gently as his eyes locked with hers. ”I got it Beauty and your right, this is your room and I can’t tell you what to do.” deciding to change up his battle plan Sam smiled and agreed with her.
Releasing her hand quickly Sam lifted his other hand to reveal everything that fell out of her pocket, ”I know I wasn’t invited in but you left the key in the door and dropped these so I figured I would return them and handle you the key so you didn’t have any strangers wander in at night.” offering her a warm smile while fighting the urge to change his tactic again Sam placed everything in his hands on a small table next to the door and then looked back to her.
”Well now that those are there, and your key isn’t left in your door, and I wasn’t invited I don’t really have any business being here.” turning around back to the door Sam turned his head so he could catch Alex in his eye sight, ”You have a good night Alex, and remember we have somewhere to be so try not to stay up to late.”
Hand on the door Sam turned the handle and opened the door and started moving to the exit somewhat slowly hoping Alex would change her mind about him not being invited at all.
”Well now that those are there, and your key isn’t left in your door, and I wasn’t invited I don’t really have any business being here.”
That… went surprisingly well. Alexandra eyed Sam a bit suspicious as he spoke, and shrugged as the sentence ended. Stepping to the side, Alexandra leaned against the wall, taking another swig from the bottle.
”You have a good night Alex, and remember we have somewhere to be so try not to stay up to late.”
Alexandra simply snorted in response. “Yeah, yeah.” Slowly, Alexandra slid down the wall until finally she was seated on the floor, head resting on the wall, bottle to her chest and legs sprawled in front of her. She didn’t even bother to look at Sam and, even if she wanted to, a dresser blocked her vision. “That’s what everyone cares about anyway.” She muttered, drinking again.
…Alexandra go there, Alexandra do that. Hell, if she didn’t know about responsibility and the current situation then no one really did. But no, she was needed to be reminded by mister perfect that she had somewhere to go. No shit! She really had no idea!...
And she drank until there was nothing left. She eyed the bottle, and with a shrug, she threw it to her side then sighed and closed her eyes. “Don’t let the door hit you on your way out.” She called out at Sam bitterly.
Hands traveled to her temples, rubbing against them hard as a headache made its appearance, trying to empty her mind. Off Sam, off the mission, off everything, even if it was for just a couple of seconds. It didn’t take long for the short time of meditation to be suddenly disturbed by a knock. Alexandra winced and kept her eyes closed and hands still on temples as she spoke. “Yeah?”
“Room Service.” A female voice called out.
For God’s sake- “I didn’t ord-”
“Champagne sent from Mr. Corydon.”
For a few moments Alexandra asked herself who the hell Mr. Corydon was. When she actually remembered that she had seen the name somewhere else before and in the end realization kicked in and she associated Kaz with Corydon, she smiled, shaking her head slightly. “Come in. It’s open.” Finally opening her eyes, Alexandra placed her hand on the frame of the bathroom door on her side in an attempt to help herself up. She was dizzy, and yet, she found the strength to get up and quickly enter the bathroom before hearing the woman entering her room.
With small steps, Alexandra made her way to the mirror, hands placed on the edge of the sink for support as she only glanced for a moment at her reflection before letting her eyes travel to the reflection of the woman in the room as she delivered the champagne. “Good ol’ Kazzel. He must have known I’m missin’ my champagne.” Alexandra smiled again, as eyes traveled back to her reflection. “Tonight I need to cel-” She continued, but stopped abruptly as she stared at her reflection. She needed to celebrate? What? Was there anything worth celebrating?
The image on the mirror screamed pathetic. A woman standing in the bathroom of her hotel room, dressed only in a bra, with messy hair, with a pale face and the little make up she had on was smudged across her face. And her eyes… eyes that usually could pierce trough the toughest people out there, now stared back at her dumbly. She felt pathetic, really. Ashamed, she let her eyes go down, starring at the immaculate white of the sink.
Papa must have been proud right now. Cause nothing she did even disturb his plan, a plan that apparently couldn’t be stopped, not even by a grave. She’d started a damn war. And she’d come here to stop it. So far, nothing had worked. Pacifica refused to listen, Fausto didn’t have any information, she wasn’t sure how Slate’s bribery was gonna save a whole country and the X-Men merrily hopped their way to the borders thinking that that’s gonna make things better.
“There’s nothing worth celebrating in my life.” Alexandra concluded, half muttering. Blue eyes snapped back to her reflection. Nothing had changed during the seconds that had passed. The shame, the guilt, the disgust for herself were still there and all of that was mocking her.
Alexandra gritted her teeth together, hands grasping the edge of the sink so hard that they had turned white. She tried to fight, as ever. But, it was bigger than her. In the end, she lost control. In the next second, her fist was slammed against the mirror. The mirror cracked, and in only moments from the impact, pieces were falling to the floor and in the sink, breaking again.
Her fist was still resting against the little remains of the mirror. Her senses were so numbed that she didn’t feel pain. She felt nothing. Nor did she notice the fact that pieces of glass were sticking out of her hand when she pulled it back.
She did heard the woman behind her gasp at the scene. Alexandra put her hand back on the edge of the sink, watching absently how red lines were being drawn with her own blood on the white of the sink. “Get out.” She simply said, letting her head hang low, hair falling on the sides of her face as a curtain. “I wanna be alone.” The woman didn’t say a thing, but footsteps announced Alexandra that she had left.
Closing her eyes, Alexandra did something that she hadn’t done in a very long time. She cried.

Sighing at his failed attempt to try and guilt Alex into telling him to stay in her room Sam walked out of the room and headed to his own. He walked slowly hoping that his beauties current mindset would do a complete 180 or at least enough to chase him down so they could talk. However if it wasn’t going to happen there was little he could do, it wasn’t like she couldn’t handle her self and she must know her limit right? Sighing again Sam eyed a woman walking towards him with a bottle of champagne his heart sunk into his stomach as she brushed passed him and entered Alex’s room.
Wondering if she herself had ordered the drink Sam picked up his pace to hear the sound of glass shattering. Wishful thinking on his part that the drink had fallen from someone’s grasp and shattered out on the ground so the contents could not be consumed Sam felt a brief lapse of relief.
Short lived the relief was because as soon as he let out the sigh he quickly had to draw air back in due to the sound of someone letting out a whimper of a cry and the woman who had entered Alex’s room exit it in a hurried frenzy with no signs of tears on her face. That moment right there was when Sam’s stomach dropped. Shortness of breath and his chest felt heavy. That crying must have come from Alex.
With two quick strides Sam was in the bathroom surveying the scene, a broken mirror and an Alex crying while her hand bled out most likely due to Alex punching the mirror in the first place. She was a mess to say the least out of all his relationships this was a first; he had never had the patience to deal with delicate situation like this.
One-foot step and he was upon her his arms reaching out and around her like a giant eagles wing, hugging her now Sam reached out for the bloodied hand and frowned slightly. ”It’s going to be okay just breath Al.” examining to make sure there were no small bits of glass inside of the cut, Sam kissed Alex on the top of her head and pulled her in tightly for a hug. It didn’t matter that seconds ago she was willing to kick him out or inflict harm to him. All he knew at that moment, his beauty was crying and she needed her beast there for her so that was what he was going to do.
At first it was only a tear, running across her face, but as time passed, tears started cascading down her cheeks while sobs broke the silence that should have been after the hotel employee left. Alexandra hated herself this way, weak and crying like a little child. It had been such a long time since she had last shred a tear.
And there was only one thing that Alexandra hated more than seeing herself crying. It was someone else seeing her crying. She was surprised when two arms were enveloped around her body. Alexandra gasped, confused, as she was turned around, her hand being picked up for inspection.
Teary blue eyes traveled up; from her own hand to the one it was holding it and to Sam’s face. Although she commanded herself to stop crying, tears continued to fall from her eyes. Now, that off all people who could have seen her crying Sam was the one who had found her, she felt even more hatred for herself.
As Sam pulled her into a hug, she did her best to resist him. “What are you doing here?! I thought I told you to leave!”she called out, with words being cut off by sobs. With hands turned into fists she started to punch Sam’s chest, while in the same time trying to push him out of the bathroom. “Get out! Get out!”
Alexandra applied several punches, while her crying instead of ceasing as she commanded only intensified with each kick. And she was becoming tired. Not off kicking Sam but tired of being though when inside she was breaking in thousands of pieces. She didn’t even realize that when she took another step closer to Sam, ready to deliver another punch to his chest, her arms grasped his t-shirt tightly, body moved closer, while she burrowed her head into his chest while she continued to cry.
“Get out…” Her voice repeated the demand one more time, but now weak, and while asking this, her hands grasped his t-shirt tighter and tighter. She still hated herself for crying but, at least she wasn’t alone anymore.

No glass in the hand at least one he could see. If there was any he knew Alex was capable of removing it from her body once she sobered up, even if it meant she needed to reopen her wound. Right now there was little Sam could do about the cut at least while she was punching and kicking him. ”I can’t leave you like this!” Sam said loudly trying to tighten his body for the impacts so they would do little damage to him and little to Alex. She was already bleeding no reason to put more stress on the cut.
As she told him to leave again Sam didn’t move away or closer not yet at least, the punches continued and a kick or two was thrown into the mix but eventually they became weaker and slower to the point where they were nothing more than love taps. Eventually the punching and kicking stopped all together and finally she grabbed onto his shirt and forced her head into his chest.
There she continued to sob into his chest bleeding as well. Letting out a sigh then a calming ‘Shhhh’ sound Sam kissed her on the head and wrapped both arms around her and squeezed her in a warm and loving embrace till her tears would slow to a stop. He didn’t say anything but continued to hug her rocking his body back and forth gently in an attempt to sooth her. Within a moment one of Sam’s hands that was located on Alex’s back traveled down south brushing the but and resting on her leg with a scoop and a small grunt Sam had Alex in his arms the way a father would scoop his crying child.
Making sure not to make uncomfortable or accidentally force her head into a wall or a doorframe like he did to several before her. Sam walked her to her bed and turned and sat down on Alex’s bed. Resting her on his lap for a moment Sam leaned in and placed his head against hers and spoke ”So I don’t think your crying because of your hand… care to share love?” Sam asked adopting one of the pet names they have been using while in Romania. Reaching a hand towards his shirt Sam ripped a portion of it and raised it to Alex’s hand. ”Now let’s see if we can stop that bleeding.”
The grip on Sam’s shirt tightened even more, her body pushed into his till there wasn’t any room for further movement anymore. Alexandra fell silent, no requests of him leaving her room, no yells, no punches. Just sobs and the occasional movement of her shoulders as she continued to cry.
There was time to worry about Sam seeing her crying tomorrow, right now in the arms of her beast she found the comfort she needed. Maybe it wasn’t enough to wipe out the pain or the guilt hanging on her shoulders but certainly soothed it.
Alexandra didn’t make the smallest movement to show resistance when Sam had scooped her up and carried her to the bed. Not even her head or hands changed positions when Sam moved her across the room or sat on the bed.
”So I don’t think your crying because of your hand… care to share love?”
…
”Now let’s see if we can stop that bleeding.”
Reluctantly, Alexandra shifted the position of her head, teary blue eyes looking up at Sam. Cut down by sobs, the sentence that played in her head ever since she had seen her reflection in the mirror was muttered weakly. “Is my fault.”
Alexandra let her eyes travel down, not watching anything in particular. The injured hand was unclasped from Sam’s shirt and extended toward him mechanically. “My fault.” She whispered letting her head rest on Sam’s shoulder.

Reaching for her injured hand Sam placed one hand on it as the other hand of his began to weave the cloth around the injured area. The piece of cloth was just barely enough to be tied as he went over and under and gave a small tug on the knot he had created. The next movement of Sam’s happened all to suddenly and he didn't have much time to give his action much thought but pulling the injured hand close to his mouth Sam kissed the cloth around the wound and then activated his mutation to cool the cloth, in hopes it could reduce swelling later down the line.
Never before had he kissed a wound and it got him to thinking about why that was. Movies and people watching had showed him that not often this occurs mostly when someone that someone cares about was injured and… Sam shook his head abruptly forcing his stray thoughts away for the time being, now was not the time to focus on something other than here and now with Alex. ”What’s your fault?” Sam asked her as his chest and shirt continued to become a giant pillow for Alex to cry into.
Sam’s head lowered it’s self onto Alex’s there it rested as his hands wrapped around her tightly again enclosing her from the world around them. ”What ever you did couldn’t have been that bad, not enough reason feel like this.” slowly his body swayed back and forth trying to ease his girlfriend from her current emotions into a calmer one. ”You can tell me Alex, cause your beast doesn’t like seeing you like this…” Sam said as he kissed her on the forehead again.
