The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(( OOC: Saturday, May 28th. ))
It was odd, looking over his near-bare room and knowing he'd never see it again. The room he'd spent nearly four years in, with all its basketball posters and happy memories. It was hard saying good bye.
Shin had packed. He'd gotten a van for his bookcases, all his boxes of comics, books, and posters. All of his clothes, and everything else. He wasn't sure where he'd put it all. Kealey had lots of clothing. He'd helped her pack it, during the week. He saw. He knew. She had even more back at her place. Things would be crowded.
Things would be amazing. They'd get through it.
Shin wasn't worried about him. He was worried about his dog. Poor thing. Thor was so used to the mansion's glorious front lawn, on the long walks and plentiful trees. For Shin and his dog, living with Kealey wouldn't be the toughest thing to get used to. It would be living in the city. In an apartment. They were growing up. They'd already packed and hauled nearly everything to the car. They were moving on.
He'd pick up Thor, once he had things settled in. Shin had arranged for a babysitter for the dog. A nice mansion student in need of a few extra bucks. A yellow blur.
All that remained in Shin's room were Thor's doggy bed, his food dish, and his dish for water.
He gave one last look at the room, and said good bye.
"Good bye, room. Good bye, Thor... I'll pick you up later. I love you. Now, I have to go help Kealey move all her boxes into the new apartment. Andy will be here to look after you. Treat him good. He my be fast, but he isn't fast on the uptake. Don't work him too hard. And..." He glanced around the room again. Nothing came to mind. "I guess that's it. See ya soon, buddy." He rubbed Thor's ears. The dog grinned, tongue lolling out.
Shin turned, walked out the door. Thor was alone. Slowly, quietly, he turned a few times in his doggy bed, then lay down.

A fist knocked on Kealey' door. Shin spoke. "It's time."

The walls of the room were bare, the bed was bare, and the closet was bare. It was strange to think about the time when she’d just been bringing a week of clothes with her so that she didn’t have to be scared to stay at home. That was right after Shin had saved her life…
A lump of emotion, her own emotion, had risen in Kealey’s throat and she swallowed it down. It was time to go home. A small smile grew on her face at the thought and she corrected herself. It was time to go home with Shin. To their home.
The walls were empty here, the closets were empty here, and Kealey realized as she looked around that the Mansion had done everything it could for her. She was still going to run the library here, in a diminished capacity, and there was no way on Earth she would give up being an X-Man, but this just wasn’t working anymore. She’d already packed and moved all of her things to the van.
A knock came on the door.
It was time.
She opened the door to those exact words. Kealey smiled, just a little teary. ”Yup. Let’s go.” she said, then made her way past Shin and into the hallway. It wasn’t like she’d never be back.
