The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Hades casually strolled towards Noel's house. He was more interested in keeping people alive this time. Partially as the government was interested in interrogating but also as both he and Noel could obtain more information as required. By preference Hades preferred to be subtle as befitting an assassin. He could do loud if necessary but if given a choice he preferred completing his goal with nobody the wiser. Another thing was that this was Noel's abode and as a courtesy to her he would try to minimize property damage within reason. As Hades neared the apartment complex he heard gun shots, shotgun blasts and pistols respectively. He circled round the back and climbed up the fire escape entering the apartment through a window. He moved silently, a hunter stalking prey. Behind a barely open door, there was a Davronski aiming what looked like a dart gun through the door. He looked ready to fire so rather then try anything fancy Hades simply snapped his neck. He wanted them alive so he could "question" them (his questioning technique never left any physical marks.....) and then turn them over to the authorities who would be more than happy to take them in return for favors, some of which Hades was planning on calling in very soon. After that Hades quietly moved through the door drawing two taser guns. The good thing was that these were of a new design, made by Glont International. Instead of delivering the high voltage as a single burst, which could lead to the targets accidentally firing any weapons in hand, the new designs pulsed it so that the muscles of those hit just locked up and did not contract fully. The down side was that like all other taser weapons, this was a fire once weapon, the other down side was that the person on the receiving end tended to take longer to black out so for them it was more painful. Hades targeted the two Davronskis that were hanging back, trying to get a clean shot at Noel. They promptly froze in place, their mouths froze open in silent scream before quietly collapsing. Hades dragged them to cover, secured them with Zip ties and removed their suicide pill. Then pulling two shock batons he again went hunting, confident that Noel would be handling herself adequately.

If Von Krouse had any doubt if Hades would find him, any last hope of escape, any glimmer of a dream that perhaps Hades had been dealt with and he had beaten the long odds and not made the biggest and most likely last monumental error in his soon to be ended career and life that was cruelly and brutally dispelled when the normally calm and serene atmosphere of the control room was broken by a chorus of alarm sirens wailing. The room was bathed in washes of red as various alarm lights blinked to life. They were soon silenced. As various systems came back online the picture became clear that they were under attack. At the first sign of trouble the triple force-field deployed and the command room or vault went into lock-down. He waited for various systems to come back online from when they had been scrambled by EMP bombs. This had obviously been a planned attack. Dam, he had been very discrete, how had he been traced? No matter, it was time to see what he was up against.
The cameras come on just in time for Von Krouse to see that the lawn around his house (in the appropriate spectrum) was suddenly full of laser tripwires. His second in command was just reaching for the transmit button on his head set when the first wave of defenders charged out of the building and found out for themselves. For the time being they would be held inside the building or at lest close to the perimeter while trying to take out the various automated guns. He sighed as he noted that the red mutant with the interesting power had been let out. He assumed the guard that seemed to be helping the red mutant had disobeyed orders and gotten too close. Really after all the trouble they had gone to catch him. Vron Krouse was hoping to sell him to the Davronskis in return for favors and services, the make-inconvenient-people-disappear kind. The ability to be a puppeteer and control people was a most useful ability. Another opportunity lost.
>“Reaper, Sierra One is likely covering the vault. Over.”
"Copy that" Hades reply was brief. It sounded like Noel was not only good with a sword but perhaps knew a thing or two about sniping. It was equally possible that she had just "picked it up" from a sniper rifle that she found or liberated. Regardless he had work to do. One of the skills that distinguished Hades from many in his profession, century's of experience aside, was how he managed anger. In so many people, when they were angry, truly enraged they tended to lash out, almost a knee jerk reaction. In physical conflict striking in anger tended to throw you off balance and put you at the mercy of a more skilled opponent, with regards to tactics it tended to drive common sense and strategy of not completely out the window then a close approximation to it. With Hades though, it was different. If one could describe 90% of the population's anger as burning hot, Hades anger burned cold. He turned it inward, became more still, more intense. It made his strikes more precise, more strategic, if anything making Hades angry made him a more formidable opponent, both physically and strategically. That was why Hades dressed like one of the guards. That allowed him to slip into the vehicle bay half way along the North wing without being noticed. It was currently also serving as the command post for the North sector defense (the teams having split the grounds and buildings up into North, SE and SW sectors). He waited for the opportune moment when the North sector commander was issuing orders to trigger the explosives he had attached to the fuel tanks for the vehicles. Hades currently objective was to sow confusion and chaos. By taking out the commander of that sector he had began to cripple the cohesion of the Northern defense. Earlier he had spied a very useful weapon sitting on a rack on the other side of the vehicle bay. Now with all the shouting and smoke and flames he was able to reach it easily. Slinging the shotgun on his back and ditching the grenade launcher, it was time for a more covert approach Hades armed himself with a high powered crossbow and vanished into the smoke.
In a dark room a widescreen TV flickered to life. In time to tune in to a news report.
"Two weeks ago the shocking news that the arms giant Acutech was being sold off hit the markets prompting fluctuations in trading. This is the second company of its type to be sold of in the last few months prompting many to wonder if there is more to the story than just two CEO's who decided to retire and move away form the United States. Two months ago the CEO of weapons manufacturer Firebird Industries announced that he was retiring and selling the company off. After a closed round of confidential bidding, Firebird Industries was sold to Jagger Worldwide in a move that was highly contested by other companies in the sector. Unlike Firebird however, Acutech is to be broken up. This prompted one of the largest gatherings of big defense contractors in recent years as a viscous bidding war began. It has now been more than a week since the the selloff was announced and the pool has now shrunk to two. Neither of which were the expected favorites. The first is Jagger Worldwide which first came to attention of many when it snapped up Firebird Industries. The second is a lesser known conglomeration called Glont International, little is knows about G.I but it is purported to be at least as large if not larger than Jagger. At this point the outcome is still uncertain, some say a deal is being negotiated between the two, while others expect both companies to fight to the last for Acutech in it's entirety. One thing is for certain, regardless of the outcome this whole episode has raised more questions.. than answers. This is Diana Hunt with NY Business."
It had been an interesting time for the business world indeed. G.I had seemingly come out of nowhere. It was in fact a conglomeration made up of a number of smaller companies, each which specialized in a particular area. In their respective areas they were held in high esteem, specialists, respected. United as a group under the leadership of Mr Glont they had blindsided many of the hopefuls. Not much was known about the reclusive Mr Glont. From his surname many surmised that he had Russian heritage, and from what information was available he appeared to be a reclusive multi million/billionaire who spent the majority of his time in Europe. Once Jagger Worldwide (J.W) and Glont International (G.I) had out bit, out witted and in a few cases simply out classed may of the hopefuls who wanted a piece of Acutech the two companies settled down to divide up the spoils. To date there had been 4 rounds of talks. The first round consisted of an army of lawyers from each side sending offers and counter offers and the two competitors sized each other up. Round two was a little more sedate with a smaller group of lawyers, accountants and analysts meeting face to face to discuss. At this stage neither Glont nor Jagger took to the field. Round three was smaller yet again, with both sides doing much in-depth research into the other for leverage, offers were made and countered and countered again. The first tentative deals or informal agreements were made. Round four was when both the CEO's took to the field, to the surprize of the staff on either side, the CEO's of the opposition were sharp, almost scarily so. It was like watching two grand masters playing chess, with plots and counter plots flying back and forth between them like machine gun fire. Now it was round five and somewhere in the offices of each of the companies sat what was essentially a score sheet. In different ways they both said about the same thing:
For this last round it was just the two CEO's, face to face. Behind closed doors each had an army of talent data mining on the opposition and feeding data to the computers in front of each of the CEOs. Which of the last two divisions would go to which company?

Hades listened and watched. It was obvious that Alex had not yet made peace with his past. When Alex finished, Hades simply said. "Thank you for Sharing. You are obiousely still coming to terms and making peace with the events that happened. I will think on what you have said." He paused. "Now shall we get back to training. If you can run through the moves three times without error you can start practicing on your own."
Hades watched as Alex went through the moves. The youth almost had it down. Hades corrected where necessary. When Alex had finished and had sat down Hades said. "Well done, you should keep practicing. Another exercise is to work on the transitions from each move to every other move. For instance you would go form move 1 to move 2, 1 to 3, 1 to 4 etc then 2 to 1, 2 to 3 and so on. I will need to leave in a day or tow for a few days. If you need to leave for any reason here is an email address I can be contacted at."

The Bossman grinned. He had her now. That sniper had been dealt with or at lease surpressed and he had Aura ducking and weaving. It would take time to rebuild but perhaps Aura would be a good plaything, to be kept chained to his throne. or perhaps he would have her preserved in formaldahide as an example. Perhaps he could train her to be his pet Mutant, she would make a good replacement for Flika and Flama. It was then that the Bossman's world turned white and hot very quickly. He roared in pain, the noise broadcast through the external speakers. the sound was distraction enough for Hades to turn another sniper's head into pink mist. He had one shot left then he would have to switch to his shotgun and knives.
Thankfully Aura had taken the opening. Dodging and weaving like an expert she attacked the still dazed Bossman. The Bossman had just started to recover from overheating when he was hit again when his left knee was...we.. capped, wrecked, shredded, blended... Roaring and incoherent with pain and rage he flailed. Through the fog of pain he thought he hit something. Another impact hit his suit and his world went dark. Not that he went unconscious mind you, more like the power failed. His suit was useless and with a Hiss he triggered the manual release and crawled, bleeding from his suit. He through he had given Aura a solid taste of his power claw and hoped against all hope that he had taken her out or at least knocked her unconscious so his men could capture her. His men rallied around their leader and the snipers closed in to provide cover. They all started hunting the darkness for the slightest hint of pink.
Aura scored a direct hit on the Bossman's knee, giving Hades the perfect shot to take out his suit's power plant. With that Hades was out of ammo for his sniper, so he grabbed his shotgun and headed for the rooftops. His made record time by simply jumping out the 20th story window and then phasing just before he hit the ground. Time to end this.
As Noes armed herself with weapons Hades made a few discrete calls, well more like encrypted e-mails. Yes the CIA and military intelligence would be happy to get their hands on members of the Davronski. They had a bad habit of committing suicide before they could be caught. Yes they would pay handsomely if Hades was interested in cash. Hades sent a brief reply that he would prefer information and favors to be called in at a later date. Hades armed himself simply, a few sets of knives, a pouch or tow of things that clinked. two taser guns, some cylindrical looking objects. He recognized the trust that Noel was placing in him. Clearing out ones home is not something that you trust or invite just anyone too. He respected that. More and more he was warming to the idea of potentially partnering with Noel on missions. Perhaps not regularly, that might depend on how Noel felt about this. Would she be interested in some of the less violent aspects of his job? Perhaps running recon on missions or information gathering. Hmm He wondered what she would think of that. But this was not the time or place to mention such things. He would wait for an appropriate time to present itself.
While arming himself he was also cognoscenti that if he did get into combat whilst in Noel's abode he would attempt to minimize damage to property to a reasonable degree. For clothes he dressed casually, in slacks and a shirt. He almost looked like an accountant coming home from work.
>"I think I owe you like three new shirts after this."
"Noel, the time and effort that you have saved me is vastly more than recompense for a mere shirt or two. Perhaps it is I that should be offering to purchase clothing for you." Hades said half jokingly. That was very true. Noel had, with one kiss, one single kiss, saved Hades what could ahve taken months to uncover, and Hades had not even finished mining the data from the first hideout.
>"If you don't mind, I'll have you get out about here. That way when I pull up, it'll look like just me all alone. I'll try not to ding your shiny car."
Hades just smiled and nodded. he had a plan. He neglected to say that to the observing Davronski's, who by now would know of Noel's recent lack of employment, it would more likely appear that Noel had found new employment, a very well paying new employment at that.
After exiting the car Hades circled the block once. He quickly spotted the van that was the current mobile base. He approached the vehicle and knocked on the window. In a nasally accountant accent he engaged in conversation with the driver. "I am Sam of the neighborhood watch, I received a number of calls about a suspicious black van parked in our neighborhood. If you don't explain your business or I don't report back to the current shift in 5 minutes the police will be called. So please either leave or state your business. We are a peaceful neighborhood and don't like strangers lurking." He sounded indignant, like an accountant who is proud of being the neighborhood watch. And being an accountant he was attentive to detail. Just as the driver was showing papers to an increasingly suspicious (pretend) accountant, he promptly received a taser to the neck. Hades slapped a patch on his neck which would release a sedative that would ensure the driver stayed unconscious for a number of hours. he then removed a cylinder and attached it to the ventilation system. The cylinder started hissing. Hades left the vehicle and waited for a few minutes. Upon opening the rear door he was greeted by the sight of the two Davronski snipers who were also manning the listening equipment and video screens, slumped unconscious over their desks. they also got the patches. With that Hades closed the door and started walking towards Noel's house. He sent her a text. "Gate crashers detained, coming to join the party." He wondered how she was getting on playing hide and go seek with Davronski troops.
Aura I suggest that at the conclusion of our current thread that Aura makes an offer to Hades. He will respond to directness. As For Richard he does frequent the Sanctuary workshop to tinker out of his official work so you could reach him there or you could use him as a resource through Ambrose. Up to you

"If you would prefer you are welcome to continue staying at the safehouse." Siad Hades. It would be nice to have an actualy ally instead of just assets taht he could call upon and deploy when necessary. Being immortal did not preclude the desire for company now and then. Although when building relationships Hades was always cognicent of the fact that it was most likely that he would outlive them. Hades wondered what the frown was for.
>"We'll split. Like my initial idea. I'm assuming you're good."
Hades simply responded with a "Yes." In a matter of fact voice. He was not boasting, it was a fact, he knew it, those in his profession knew it. even with more thant 50% of his kills attirbuted to others or accidents he was still far ahead of any other individual.
>"Good enough to finish up the outside wetwork with enough time to dig me out of any holes I fall into."
"I can take the outside if you wish." Hades was a little surprised. If they played b y the same rules there was be one driver and at most 2 snipers to take care of as opposed to 8-9 individuals hiding in her house waiting to ambush her. But that was her choice and hades would respect that. he already knew how he was going to take out those outside. This time he would go non-lethal. He also knew a few contacts in the government and other organizations that would pay for a live davronski agent. What they wanted to do with them after they obtained them was none of Hades business.
>"Let me use your skin glue spray stuff and find better clothes. Then we can go clean house. Or I could just move. I was thinking about it anyway."
"That is up to you. Moving would probably be good in case they have added your address to the database and their file on you. Although it would probably be unwise to allow a Davronski cell remain operational and it would be an inconvenience to your ...."roomie" Your choice." Said Hades. Personally he would prefer not to let a Davronski cell stay alive and well, particularly if their target was... well... them. It was never wise, it would be better to preempt any attack. If Noel did not feel comfortable Hades would do it alone.

Hades saw no need to create too many bodies, so after phasing the two that he killed into the foundations of the tower, he removed a small device from his belt and attached it to the ventilation system. He phased and walked up to the control room by walking up the middle off a wall and watched with satisfaction as one by one on the cameras the remaining guards succumbed and fell unconscious. He messaged "Coast Clear" to CS and exited the building.
"They should be out for at least 8 hours, lets move."
As they headed for the camp itself Hades sent a list to CS's phone. "When we get in, these are the list of people that should be able to give us computer access to the files for this technology. I will try to find us a secure terminal, think you can capture one of these?"
When they reached the fence Hades touched it and a section became translucent. "You might want a run up. This causes some pain." He suggested knowing that when living organisms passed through anything he phased, himself or objects, it somehow interacted with their nerve endings to produce waves of pain.

The world suddenly turned a blinding flash of white for the Bossman as on his HUD numerous red flashing icons appeared until he dismissed them with a growl. He took stock, some of his servos were on the verge of overheating, his long range gun was out of action, or tuch and go at best. His frontal armour had lost some integrity. It would hold as long as this Aura did not have more explosives at her disposal. The bossman was also annoyed at his diminishing manpower. As someone tried to sneak attach Aura the lurched and literally split in two. The top and bottom half flying in differen t directions. What ever weapon was being used it was big. He radioed for someone to take him out with an RPG but the encouragement died on his lips when the RPG was disabled with another shot which also removed the man's left leg below the knee. If he was going to survive the Bossman whould have to end this soon. He radioed for his snipers to hunt down Aura's help, extolled the rest of his men to increase their firepower at Aura and started advancing while flinging whatever heavy objects came to hand at her. Dumpsters, drainage piping, a segment of fire escape. All the while vengfully belching gouts of flame from his fist. He was certain he could overload her shields, or whatever they were.
Up in his next Hades day was getting rather busy. he had long ago gotten into a groove, he had built his bone bridge, such that the rifel was supported by bones and not by muscle to form a stable shooting platform. It was like bench rest shooting. If one wanted to get good at sniping one had to spend time at the bench. The crosshairs on the sniper were like a cruicable. He was methodical and calm. Aim, fire, repeat. He started taking fire from enemy snipers and had to switch to them knowing that this would increase the pressure on Aura. He suspected taht she might not be able to do another full frontal confrentation but his hands were slightly busy. The only blessing was that at least the enemy snipers did not have time to camoflague themselves and thus turned themselves into a target range. It was while he was hunting out the last few snipers that he saw a shot almost line itself up. He aimed and fired almost on reflex before his mind had processed. It was a joint in the fuel supply hose to the flamer as it rang through the elbow of the suit. As soon has he pressed the trigger Hades knew it was a hit. It seemed as if the Bossman's elbow suddenly started spewing flame. He stumbled. That was about the best opening that Hades could give Aura. At that moment the remaining snipers got a lock on him and he had to displace fast.

For the right mission Hades could be recruited for missions. Most likely he would prefer to start as a contractor but over time might be enticed to join full time.
With the Right incentive (i.e challenging problems and perhaps future use in espionage, though these motives would have to be masked as dressed as harmless beneficial deeds) Richard would also be interested, in spite of being slightly pacifistic

At this statement, the youth looked slightly uneasy. It probably indicated that the youth likely had not made peace with his past. That he was probably driven by or affected bby perhaps traumatic events in his past. Hades would not press him to share more than he was comfortable with. However the more Alex shared, the better Hades would understand him. It was not as though Hades was going to light some hallucinogenic incense, release something that triggered Alex's deepest fears and force him to face them. Hades was not going to pull a dark knight on him. Hades suspected that the youth was driven perhaps by fear, fear of being hurt, fear of being vulnerable. Regardless Hades would train Alex. It was jsut that there were probably areas that Alex would not be ready for for a while. Areas such as how to properly channel emotion etc.
"I would be happy to hear as much as you feel comfortable sharing. As for length, I do not mind, we have time." Indeed at times it seemed to Hades was that he had far too much time. Over the centuries Hades had cultivated much patience. Hades was interested in what Alex would share. What he did not share would be almost as illuminating as what he did share.

>"Oh God. They were probably all over my place weren't they?"
"I am afraid so. I don't know how throughly they will have worked the place over. Do you live alone?" Hades wondered if they would ahve to worry about potential hostages. He personally would not choose to reside in a place that had been in the hands of a group like the Davronski's for any length of time. No telling what surprises that had planted or that could lie in wait, dormant for years before suddenly activating to catch one unawares. That however would be a decision that Noes would have to make on her own. As far as hades was concerned, so far she had proved herself a capable ally and therefore was welcome to remain in one of his safehouses for as long as she wished. There was still the possability of asking her to help with the search of his past but Hades had not decided on that yet and would need to see what Noel would choose when then finally closed this chapter and an immediate threat was no longer hanging over their heads. If she chose to go her own way hades would respect that.
>"They'll have it bugged. Assuming our contracts are still non-lethal capture they'll hope for an ambush. We should play into that. Again it'll be teams. Wheelmen and an assalt team only. If you can silence the exterior team without alerting the inside guys that there's anything wrong, that'll half the fight right there."
"Agreed. You know your neighbourhood best, and you have their playbook, so call the play." Tactically this was true. This was her home turf and she would know what would stand out and what did not belong. Furthermore she had literally gotten inside their heads, something that could very well give them an edge. Hades would be interested to see how Noel would play it. It would be an educational experience into how her mind worked. Hades was very concious of the fact that there was still so very much about Noel that he did not know
