The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Feeling the gentle squeeze on her shoulder coupled with the compliment Victoria was liking Serena more and more. She was very friendly and accepted the help from the younger girl. That made Victoria smile big. “You’re welcome Serena!”
Emerald mentioned an open room for Serena to have and to help find someone to get the new girl officially into the mansion. Victoria was liking Emerald as well. Maybe the little blonde would make lots of new friends here. She hoped so anyway.
Shin seemed like a very helpful person as he walked the small group through the mansion. He pointed out some areas Victoria had already shown Serena, but it might’ve been good for the older girl to see them again. Having been in the mansion for a few days already Victoria remembered most of the pointed out locations.
The offices were new though. Having all of her arrangements set up prior to her arrival Victoria didn’t ever go to the offices. Shin knocked on the door and mentioned a name that the girl hadn’t heard before. Gawain must only work in the offices and is why the girl never heard of him.
A new voice spoke up before Victoria could ask about this Gawain person.
Turning to the see who it was the girl found herself looking up more than she did for Shin or Serena. A very tall lady had approached the group with a smile. She offered cookies if they went with her to the kitchen. Victoria thought to herself for a brief moment. Emerald had offered them food from a hunt and now this new lady was offering cookies. Did Shin forget to offer them milk or something? Why couldn’t someone offer blood?
Following Serena’s response to the new lady Victoria tagged along to the kitchen.
Thankfully Victoria’s act paid off and the conversation got back to normal. As Emerald was the only one who was hungry that subject was passed over rather quickly. Victoria watched the tall red haired woman while she munched on an apple. Part of the girl was actually happy she didn’t need to eat normal food as it would seem that Emerald had a tendency to clean out the fridge.
Victoria’s red eyes sparkled a bit as she responded to the new question. “I’m already settled in here. I’ve been here for a few days now. Mr. Holloway showed me around and everything. I’m just trying to help Serena now.”

Without much wasted time the ride began as Miles commanded his dogs. The blanket slid easily across the floor, and Victoria was able to stay on without any effort. Even going this slow speed it was a fun little ride. A smile and a wave to Penelope and Miles were sent in their direction when the blonde passed them by.
Gradually Miles commanded his mutant dogs to go faster and faster again. Victoria now had a good grip on the blanket as she could feel gravity trying to yank her from her ride. The more the dogs ran around the room the more she could feel herself being pulled at. Her hair was flicking behind her and she was leaning more into the turns. She was determined to win this.
The clicking of the dogs’ nails on the floor made it hard to hear what Miles said next, but suddenly the dogs gained a burst of speed. Victoria reacted quickly and gripped the blanket tighter as the dogs changed their course. The blonde girl didn’t say anything as she thought maybe Miles was trying to see if his dogs could through her off by going a different way. This only drove Victoria to be more determined…except….there were now obstacles!
The speed the dog sled was moving made it hard to dodge things now. They bumped an end table with a lamp on it sending it crashing to the floor just behind Victoria. Making the mistake of looking back to see how much damage the shattered lamp had made Victoria didn’t see the set of chairs the dogs bolted through. One struck her on the side of her head and her shoulder. Spinning back around to face forward from the unexpected impact the dogs had just crashed through a small book case sending books flying at the girl. Ducking her head down kept the books from smacking her in the face, but as soon as she lifted her head it crashed into the side of a small table the dogs ran under.
The demolition carried on down the hallway as the dogs continued to pull furiously towards the large window at the end of the hall. Victoria holding her head now only had one hand gripping the blanket. As the pitch black dogs crashed through the large window like a couple cannon balls Victoria screamed at the top of her lungs as she was sent sailing out the window as well.
Crashing to the ground several feet away from the mansion and rolling several more the blonde girl looked like she was a ragdoll that had been discarded. Her dress was torn in numerous places, one of her hair ties had come out leaving only one ponytail intact and she hurt all over. However, should someone look her over they’d find that physically she looked just fine except for a few little red spots from impacts. Victoria continued to lie where she had stopped rolling for a moment before getting up to assess her dress.

Kait’s initial response wasn’t filling Victoria with much hope. Had the red-haired girl forgotten? Maybe she couldn’t get the blood packs for some reason or another. What if she had been caught and got in trouble? Thoughts were flooding the blonde’s head but her hunger was growing more intense.
Then the subject changed to an odd topic as Kait asked her roommate about the girl’s locker room. Maybe Kait did have the packs but just couldn’t keep them in her room because of Alice. A glimmer of hope sparked up and Victoria was able to push down her hunger just long enough to wait for those packs.
Victoria didn’t know what to say at that moment. If Kait was keeping the packs a secret from Alice then the little blonde wouldn’t say anything. Instead she waited to go to the locker room with Kait.

Giving both Serena and Emerald direct nods, Victoria smiled and gave them both a quick hug. “I’m fine! Really!” The smaller girl looked up at Emerald. “Ok, I will.”
Victoria felt bad that she made the other two ladies worry. She didn’t want them to worry about her. Thankfully Emerald changed the subject to something that took the focus off the little blonde.
Another smile spread over Victoria’s face in response to Emerald. “You’re welcome!” She addressed the offer of food trying not to sound mean. “Oh, no thank you. I wouldn’t know how to cook it.” For now she was good, but if any food was brought out she might sample some just so the other ladies wouldn’t think something was wrong.
It was nice that this Shin person was going to try to help with Serena’s situation. He mentioned a staff office, but Victoria didn’t recall having to do that. Then again, she had been expected and that’s why her teacher showed her around.
Figuring this was more Serena’s deal Victoria waited to see what the taller blonde’s response would be.

With Miles basically brushing off the incident during the zombie game Victoria felt a little better. At least Miles seemed to be ok so that was a plus. She would have to try to be more careful next time, or at the very least try to tackle him in the direction of something softer.
Watching Penelope tie off the blanket to the dogs and listening to Miles’ explanation of the rules Victoria nodded confidently. She wasn’t going to fall off easily. “I hope I can stay on long enough to make it a challenge. Maybe I’ll make it a new world record even.” The blonde looked to her smaller female friend. “Don’t want to make it too easy for you Penelope.” A friendly giggle accompanied her statement.
Sitting down on the blanket Victoria got ready to make history.

In the days leading up to the field trip Victoria had spent numerous times chatting with her friends either individually or in groups about the event. It sounded like a great time! Seeing art and other cool and interesting things all in one place would be a joy to experience. All the beautiful things!
There was just one little…ok...MASSIVE problem! Mr. Halloway said the trip was going to be during the…gulp day time. Now she couldn’t go! The mere thought of being outside during the day horrified the girl. Did he want her to burn? No, he wouldn’t want that. He was always so caring of her condition. But there wasn’t anything that could be done. She would have to miss the trip and then feel worse when her friends would return and tell her how wonderful it was.
For several nights the red-eyed girl ran such thoughts through her head and she would cry her little heart out every time. She sooo wanted to go with her friends and see all the pretty things. Her friends meant a lot to her for different reasons, but she loved them for those reasons.
There had to be a way for her to go. Thoughts of allowing herself to ride in a sealed container with no way for sunlight to enter crossed her mind. It wasn’t the best of ideas but at least she could go with her friends. Right?
Early in the night before the trip Victoria went to her teacher to talk with him about the trip. She expressed her wanting to go, but that was quickly followed by her dreadful fear of being out during the day. Mr. Holloway did what he could to try to comfort the girl. He told her of an idea of how to get her to the bus and that he would have a special fort for her on the bus where she could hide. He added that he would use his ability to make sure no light got to her to keep her safe. Then he reminded her that most of her friends would be there as well. Kait, Miles, Penelope and others she might become friends with.
With the conversation lasting a looong time due to Victoria’s deathly fear, she eventually gave in to Mr. Holloway’s ideas and his reassurance.
The next…day Mr. Holloway greeted Victoria at her room door. The girl had on one of her beautiful dresses. This one was blue and white with several big bows on it and long sleeves. He told her that it was overcast and some snow was falling. This helped ease her fear…a little. She was ready to place herself in her teacher’s care more than ever though signs of unease were obvious.
She grabbed one of her large hooded cloaks and put it on pulling the hood up. The cloak draped down to her feet so she was nearly completely covered except her face. Drawing the hood down as far as she could Nate then used his ability to surround the girl in a shadow bubble and walked her to the bus.
Not thinking of what others might think of seeing Mr. Halloway guiding something hidden in a shadow and then making sure whatever it was got into the “fort”. Victoria tried to make herself as comfortable as she could by deciding to lay down on the bench. Some might think she was some sort of animal or something. Her “fort” was then protected by her teacher and the little blonde girl was submerged in darkness. She heard lots of people talking about various things, but she couldn’t pick out her friends’ voices yet.
