The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Once again I feel horrible for being away for so long, but I will be getting some posts out in the next couple days.
Also, I'm kind of feeling my muse for Syn is dying off. I've been debating off and on about retiring her. Nothing is set yet but I wanted to share that with you.

Orochi’s compliment was received with a very cheerful smile. Victoria took great delight when someone liked something about her no matter what it was. “Aitah Orochi! I like your name as well. Does it have a meaning? Mine means victory.” Her voice was very cheerful and light hearted. She was enjoying talking with a dragon.
When Orochi spoke of Smaug and referred to him as ‘Tolkien’s Dragon’, she knew full well who Tolkien was as she had read his books back at home. However, the glint of a possibility that such a creature as Smaug did exist somewhere at some point in time remained. With Orochi, a living breathing dragon, standing right in front of her then why couldn’t there be others who have lived throughout time? “You’re definitely unique.”
“My mother and father suggested I come here to learn as well. They know it’s a place for special people who can do special things.” Her thoughts drifted off for a moment to images of her parents, but quickly she refocused on the mighty dragon. “Yes I am young. I’m one of the younger mutants staying here.” Victoria knew she wasn’t the youngest but there were so many more who were older than herself. “What makes me different other than being awake at night is that I don’t break.”

The dragon spoke but it said something Victoria didn’t understand. The way the statement sounded it sounded like a possible greeting, or maybe a warning. However with the question that followed the girl opted to accept the first statement as a greeting and offered her own in return. “Tere Orochi. My name is Victoria and yes I am a mutant living here at the mansion.”
She watched the dragon change positions to look at her directly. Her big red eyes met his fiery orbs. She did not move even when Orochi lowered his head down to her level. Instead she continued to look at him with amazement. “I’m always up at night, and I had heard people talking about a dragon being here. So I decided to look for myself. I hope you don’t mind. I’ve only seen dragons in books and movies.”
Looking Orochi over even as she spoke her childish curiousity got the best of her. “Do you know Smaug?” She had thought it was unlikely as Smaug only existed in books and movies, but then here was a dragon right in front of her. Doesn’t hurt to ask. “What brings you here so far from your home?”

Attention back to Kait as she spoke and placed the gift on Victoria’s lap. The gift was quickly held affectionately as Kait received a big smile accompanied by big red sparkling eyes. When the girls were sitting together Victoria leaned lovingly against her sweet girlfriend. “Aitah Kait! I’m so glad you enjoy my singing. That’s very sweet of you.” Looking down at the gift then backup at Kait. “Should I open it now or wait?”
Again the rude boy spoke out and ruined the moment. “My mom did not get rid of me! Maybe yours did because you’re a bad person!” This was followed by a tongue sticking out briefly. “And we’re not stupid because we like music.”

Taking a breath of disappointment when her request to stretch was twisted into something she wasn’t expecting Victoria focused on Sam. His new instructions were just as plain and easy to follow as always. That made it so much easier to understand and learn. Kicking was the new lesson.
Watching Sam’s example Victoria did as he did with her right leg up, out, back, down without fully extending. That was as easy as the punches. A few more practice kicks from both legs and then the usual look to Sam for his critique. The girl still wanted to do proper stretches but this was keeping her muscles from getting stiff so she would continue doing as per instruction.

It had been a while since Victoria had taken a stroll outside. Even though everything wasn’t as brilliant and vibrant as it probably was in the day time, the night time still had its own splendor to offer. Plus there were the moon flowers Kait had planted for her. Those always brought a smile to her face.
Tonight had a slight mystery to it as some strange imprints were discovered in the softer parts of the ground. Definitely not human feet or even the markings of shoes. These looked bigger and more animal like.
Continuing to follow the direction of the foot prints Victoria pondered through her mind what could possibly…HOLY DRAGON!! She froze as she had approached a rather large dragon looking thing. Wings, dragon head, claws, tail….DRAGON! A gulp was the only sound from the girl.

Smiling at Sam with a nod Victoria finished the quote. “...but they will be and they’ll be in big trouble when they are.”
It seemed like forever had passed when her teacher finally returned. Her legs burned from being in in such an unnatural position for so long while supporting her stance. A look of discomfort was plainly covering the girl’s face.
“Kicks?” Heavy breath. “I might be strong and unbreakable but it doesn’t mean I don’t get tired. May I please stretch first?”

No sooner had Victoria finished her song than a male’s voice called out telling her to…shut up? His speech was slurry like someone who was drunk, or maybe she really had woken him up and he was still mostly asleep. Either way being told to shut up after singing such a wonderful song is still hurtful. It was like her heart had been pierced by an invisible knife.
Tears immediately began to well up in her eyes as she spun around to see who had spoken out. Kait? With something wrapped in her hand? Her heart instantly beat faster. Was it a gift?
Eyes shift and there; a tall boy looking at the girls. He didn’t look so well. Eyes back to Kait and her emotions filled with love and warmth, but still the shocking words from the boy grasped at her as well. Victoria didn’t mean to upset anyone and so she turned her attention to the boy first. “I…I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to wake anyone up. I couldn’t help but sing a song I used to sing with my mother this time of year.” A single tear rolled down her right cheek.
Now to Kait. “I hope I didn’t wake you too.” Red yes glance at the wrapped object. “Is that for me?” Sniffles softly.
Listening to Sam speak about what happened and why it was best not to tell people he was ok started to piece everything together within Victoria’s mind. The glow in her eyes faded away as did her anger towards her teacher. In fact, she started to feel terrible about what she had done now. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know that.” Her tone was softer and sorrowful. One thing the little vampire girl was always full of were emotions.
Regaining her composure and taking a deep breath the girl did her best to take up the new “horse” stance and as usual, looked to her teacher for immediate feedback. Looking down at her feet and her legs then back to Sam. “I think it’s called a horse stance cause it looks like you’re on a horse’s back.” A slight tilt of her head and a few strands of hair fell over her face. Her innocent childishness now showing through.
“I promise to do whatever I have to do in order to protect the people I care about. I’ll become stronger and faster so I won’t be there but they will be and they’ll be in big trouble when they are.” A stern huff of air and her arms were up in a defensive posture awaiting Sam’s next instructions.

Big red eyes stared at Sam while Victoria’s jaw dropped. “Died?!! You can’t be dead cause you’re right here.” Her disbelief swirled with other emotions like confusion and fear. Yet, Sam seemed to be blowing the whole thing off like it wasn’t a big deal. Anger was beginning to slither its way into the mix of emotions making the young girl’s eyes start to glow.
Stepping closer to Sam as he started talking about the new stance, Victoria kicks Sam’s left leg out to the side and simultaneously thrusts an open left palm into his stomach. The intent being to send the man down on his rear so the little blonde girl could make sure she had his attention.
Now standing over the fallen teacher Victoria’s fists find themselves on her hips. A very stern look shooting out to her teacher. “What do you mean died? Why shouldn’t I tell people? If they think you’re dead then they’re worried and should know you’re ok.” Her red eyes flare with brilliance. “And what happened to not being there?”
