The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Yeah, speed dating only if 'getting a bite to eat' means you know, taking a bite out of the other party. You don't have to remind me the city is in crisis. I live here too you know."
Sara’s tail flicked in annoyance. Normally she could let small comments like that roll off with a scrug, but these last few days were so bad. “And in my opinion, by all means, you have every right to do so to, Blondie.” Sara’s right ear flicked back and forth too as if it were getting rid of a really annoying strand of hair. Sara caught up to Evelyn and she intended on only keeping stride with her but the next things that came from her mouth just ticked her off more.
"Well, I'm sorry, I had a few things to get from home, and the trip took longer than expected. Not all of us can just walk through the city right now, you know."
Sara resisted the urge she had to spit back the words ‘It’s because I’m furry. Isn’t it.’ She did her best to push that thought to the back of her mind but instead of staying there, it just made her more angry. She shouldn’t have to hide her own thoughts from the rest of the public no matter how it would tick off others just like she shouldn’t have to hide herself because of what other people thought. “You think that it’s that easy?”
Sara’s fist that she didn’t realize was clenched opened and she grabbed for the front of Evelyn’s shirt and with a swift pull and twist, Sara went to pick Evelyn up by the front of her shirt and pin her against the side of a broken brick building. “You really think that it’s that easy?!” She repeated louder. This time the end of her feline nose less than an inch away from Evelyn’s. “Sam could have killed himself to save you and yet here you are.”
“True.” Sara sighed the fraise that was in response to the first comment about loosing his touch.
“I used to steal too.” Sara said with a shrug. It just made things too complicated, too fast. Sara pulled into a drive way of an abandoned looking warehouse. She left the keys in the ignition and hopped out of her van, only to reappear at the back cargo van door.
“I’m just dropping off some building supplies. Once I’m finished, I’m headed back to the city and I can drop you off anywhere.” Sara said shifting a couple of boxes so that she could reach for a couple of sacks of cement. “Sometimes trouble making is needed.” Sara said with a small smirk. “It just has to be put to the right situations.”
“Picking up humans.” Sara repeated Evelyn’s own words and twisting them. “that sounds like your talking about speed dating. Not a city in a crisis.”
Sara pushed off of the ground with her hands so that she was no longer moving on all fours, but still jogging lightly on her feet. “If you really think that you have to duck and hide, you should be hiding where it’s safer.” Sara said a little more crossly than she was trying to. For crying out loud, Sam let himself get thrown through a wall to protect her and here she was running a muck through the city that was falling apart again.
Sara pulled her modified sunglasses lower on her nose as she strolled down the street. There was something that was floating above the wreckage of the building roofs and she was just making sure that it was no threat when…. She realized that it was a flying cow. Where in the world did someone get a cow to fly in the city?
This city was falling apart and Sara couldn’t feel more on edge than she felt in the last few days. There was a side of her that wanted to move out, and at the same time, there was a side of her that wanted to stay. Fight or run. New York was the first place that she had stayed in for more than a year since she’d broken free and been out on her own.
With a couple of jogging steps, Sara fell onto all fours into a light run. Moving alone through the city wasn’t the best idea now but moving swiftly, alone, was slightly better. So when she spotted Evelyn traveling alone as well, the flying mutant not keeping her attention more than a glance, She slowed to a stroll. “What in the world are you doing out?” Sara asked as she caught up to the other girl.
Gah! Why couldn’t she remember anything but Blondie for the girl’s actual name?
Sara glared at the speed mutant. She was a lot faster than her and she hadn’t even seen her coming when the woman had shoved Sara from behind. Her tail twitched and when Sam put his hands in the air, for a moment, Sara’s glare moved to the ape like mutant to make sure that he was going to hold.
"You got a nice little cut there on your arm. Your cat friend and you disagree?"
Sara leaned heavily on her knee at the base of the electric mutant’s back. Her ears flicked back against her hair when Evelyn mentioned the cut on speedy’s arm. Ok. Sara could try to use that information to her advantage. But how…. Before She could really do anything, Sam had to put his own two cents in.
”Can’t take me one on one? Have to get your little girlfriend to fight your battles for ya huh, ya big puss?”
Ape dud sent Sam through the wall with a sweep of his arm and Sara found herself standing with a deep throated and sharp growl. Sparky was hauled up and tripped to his feet as Sara kept her grip on him. Sara’s other hand still less than an inch away from his neck. Her claws still fully unsheathed. Sara took two steps closer to the ape mutant, hauling Sparky with her. Her movement caught both the red ape like mutant’s attention, and Speekys and she let out a sharp snarl to keep it. Speedy ever readjusting her grip on Evelyn’s neck.
“You stop right there flea bag.” Speedy yelled. And Sara listened for now.
“Name calling isn’t really needed. Is it?” Sara swayed on the balls of her feet, anxious to check on Sam but refusing to just drop the situation. If he wasn’t badly injured, he was going to be when Sara finished this situation.
“You got a name then?” Speedy asked.
Sara wrinkled her nose, letting the edges of her teeth and fangs show more than usual. “Were.” Sara kept reminding herself that Sam wasn’t that stupid. That he thought of strategy a lot, but at the same time, Sara was mentally preparing herself for taking on all three of the mutants that were attacking them.
“Well Were.” Speedy addressed Sara. The four inch knife slid lightly up Evelyn’s skin as she did so. “Why are you against us?” Speedy’s eyes were whide and her thin dark lips broke into a wide smile that the joker would have been proud of. “The way I see it, is you know what it’s like. You know. To be a minority.”
“Just drop Blondie and get lost.” If Evelyn had another name that was mentioned, all Sara could think of where the nick names right now. However Speedy continued as if she hadn’t said anything at all.
“Join us and you’ll have someone else to back you up. Someone with some real power to change this country. We can change the world and all we have to do is finally stand up for ourselves. We can send message straight to those in power to say we have power.”
Sara scoffed. Mean while thinking of how she could keep her distracted. Keep her attention for the time being because maybe then she could get distracted. Maybe even make a big enough mistake for Sara to grab Evelyn. “So let me get this straight. You want to prove that you have power, by hiding behind Blondie.” Sara chuckled with a voice that was so deep in her throat it sounded more animal than human again. “Somehow, I doubt that world conquest is within your reach. What do you say you let her go and we go a couple of rounds. Did your cat friend give you that option? Heck. I’ll even let you keep the knife.” Sara taunted.
“I’m fine Slick.” Sara’s voice was a little strained. Sara braced herself as sparks flashed all the way up the snake like appendages. Her fangs flashed out from between her lips, and her free hand reached farther up, past the part of the other mutant that was wrapped around her wrist, and she sank her claws from her free hand, into the other. The electric mutant flinched as Sara did so, and she pulled him forward with a sharp tug. Getting shocked hurt like hell and Sara could only imagine Sparky using more electricity on her if he wanted to. Not something that she wanted to experience.
Sparky fell forward on his knees, then his face, and Sara took advantage of the moment by covering the distance between the two of them. Evelyn said something in the back ground, about where Sparky’s electricity came from. Well it was obvious after her first exchange with the electric mutant that the electricity came from the snake like tentacles, but it was nice knowing, in theory, that there weren’t any other ways of controlling the electricity on him. Later, in hindsight, Sara would have thought about how listening to Eve would have been a better plan, but for now, smacking him around seemed like a better plan.
And did Sara hear Slick flirting with Snowflake? Sara was focused on her opponent but there was something about the banter that made her smirk.
Both of the snake like tentacles snapped to life and headed to intercept Sara. She saw both attacks coming and sailed over both of them. The two snake heads collided shocking each other and Sparky groaned. Apparently he wasn’t immune to his own ability. Huhh… Oh this could be fun.
With a hop, skip, and a jump Sara landed next to Sparky, who was trying to get up. She grabbed him by the back of the neck, Her claws pressed threateningly close to his pulse on either side though not hard enough to kill him though enough to send him an unspoken message. She could. If he moved, she would… or might… or…. What ever it was, Sparky got the message because Sara felt his breath get caught in his throat. “Sam!.. Clear!”
Sara’s intentions were to throw Sparky at the huge red ape like mutant once Sam had a warning. She was pulling Sparky up by his neck and a tight squeeze on his arm when a third mutant zoomed past her. Giving Sara a shove from behind so that she fell on top of Sparky, making her hair fly and flap around her shoulders in her slipstream. The speeding mutant dodged Sam and the mountain of muscle, straight for Evelyn. The speed mutant was just a blur until she stopped just behind Evelyn’s elbow. Her short hair was spiked and looked like it’s styling could have been done on the run by the pure nature of her mutation.
One of the speed mutant’s arms griped around Evelyn’s shoulder across the front of her neck. The other held a knife against Evelyn’s throat. “I’m going to give you two options.” She said from just behind Evelyn. “Leave the city, or join us.”
Sara had regained her balance though she kneeled on Sparky. Her right hand never let go of the back of Sparky’s neck. Her left hand flexed it’s claws so that they were off of the way out, an inch away from his throat as she made eye contact with the new mutant. Watching her tighten her grip on both Evelyn and her knife at Evelyn’s throat.
Sara kept a steady hand on the wheel. Knuckles pointed forward at the top of the steering wheel, her other arm still leaning casually out the window. She let the other mutant finish what he had to say, witch was surprisingly more than what she expected to get out of him.
"I'm sorry about your aunt." Her amber eyes flicked to the rear view mirror then back onto the road. Sara had never had anyone who was close to her pass away. She didn't know any family, and those whom had become close enough to be friends simply moved away. Not died. "I know what it's like to be on the street." Sara continued. Deciding not to give her entire life story, but still a little. "For a long time in my life, I was also a thief." Still was now and then. "You got somewhere safe to go?"
Why in the world was she being so nice right now? Not even Sara really knew. There was just something about the situation that kept her from beating the crap out of him, or booting him out of the moving vehicle. She'd been in his shoes once and the other mutant hadn't been nearly so... nice.
Sara could hear Sam and ‘Blondie’ coming down and when she called for Sam, he was on his way faster. Immediately getting the message to hurry the hell up. Sam was at Sara’s side within a few moments and he had the fire out before, even Sara, could have gone to get a fire extinguisher.
”Stay snowflake!”
Sara glanced briefly over her shoulder for the person that Sam had been flirting with in the room above the street. However with the two other mutants looking formidably at Sam and herself, she didn’t waist that much time. There was the huge guerrilla like one who looked like he could have as much muscle as Pluto. Then the one with the electric snake like whips. Of course while Sam was running along the fire, that direction was generally closer to the other two mutants, so when the ape like mutant slammed his fists into the ground, ripping up concrete with the force from his fists, and digging in to launch himself forward into the rolling run of his, Sara took off too. Her clawed toes digging into the cement, kicking up gravel, and using her claws like cleats. She came in fast and low, and she passed just behind Sam, flicking his side with her tail.
The Ape like mutant saw her coming. He swung one meaty hand, and It’s club like arm. Sara was faster than his hands could swipe at her and she rolled to her side. She hadn’t touched him yet, but she had managed to throw him off balance. That huge arm was a lot to swing while having little to know stance to support it’s flying weight. Her feet tucked under herself when she came out of her roll and she aimed to launch herself back at the ape like mutant’s shoulder and head. A feline fist full of claws intended to take out the larger mutant’s eyes when a snake like whip wrapped it’s self around wrist with a crackle of sparking light. The snake like head snapped down on her arm and with a yank from sparky, she’d been pulled off of her course.
Sara growled with the pain. The ape like mutant had stumbled and tripped on his way to intercept Sam, but now so was Sara as for a few seconds, she fought to keep he balance, landing on one knee. The Sparky wrapped a hand around the extra whip like appendage and went to whip Sara into the side of a building, but she managed to hold onto the ground where she had landed. Even with him sending sparks up through the snake like whip that he held her with. For a heart beat or two, the two of them looked like they were simply playing a game of tug of war. However when he realized that he was getting no where with pulling her forward, he grit his teeth and send a higher voltage through the whip to Sara.
Mean while, the red haired ape like mutant had turned his full attention on Sam, trying to catch a hold of him. Maybe smack him against the wall and watch his pretty little brains spread like paint splatter.

Ok. So the panther man didn't have to point out the fact that Sara's name really could be as strongly of kept secret as Micheal Jackson's nose jobs. He really didn't have to point out that Sara might know him either, and the fact that he seemed to be enjoying this, bothered her.
So maybe 7 years ago, she might have run into a young mutant who flailed his arms in excitement when he first met Sara right before he mentioned his name was Calley, Isabel's boyfriend and a friend of Abyss... Heck. Maybe 5 years ago, Slate, Calley's 'brother' had mentioned something about Calley and apologizing for his actions. Oh oh oh. But This tangent isn't done for, also, purrrrhaps this Calley had once run into Sara and another mutant on the mansion grounds with himself as a white and black spotted cat... Perhaps perhaps perhaps... The truth was that Sara had no clue who this bipedal panther was, and the more she stood there stumped for whom he was, the more she just wanted to punch him in the nose.
She stood there only for a moment, staring at Calley. Her amber eyes first focusing on his then rolled up with a sigh. Then just as quickly as her temper had gotten the better of herself, another thought stalked it's way into her mind. Making a smirk form across her face. Her hand on his shoulder giving him a small squeeze.
"I have no clue who you are, but have you ever heard of the children of the blood?"
Meanwhile, outside Sara couldn't help but let a small smile form across her face as she listened to the light joking banter that went on inside the building between Sam and the girl whom had been attacked. Apparently she was bleeding, but she had a sense of humor still about it. A sense of humor was always a good thing. The spirit was harder to heal than physical wounds... Speaking of witch...
Sara wiggled her fingers again. Her hand flexed and she made a fist, rotating her wrist. The burn on her arm was nearly closed and the sting from being burned was no longer there. She could hear the heart beats of the attackers that Sam and herself had put down for the count, so that meant that they would probably wake up.... eventually... probably
From around the corner, to Sara's right, a woman screamed. Making Sara's ears pin back against her head. There was a loud crash and Sara's hair on the back of her neck and shoulders got that prickly feeling it got when it stood on end. Lights flickered from around the corner first from a fire, and Sara was just about to call out to Sam to put it out, when the car was spun out from around the corner on it's hood. "Hey.. . ..Slick?..." A mutant whom looked like some odd mix between a guerrilla with large forearms and red curly hair lining to the edge of his fists, loped out heavily on his knuckles and a wolf, with sharp teeth and pointed ears followed the car out. He picked it up, flames coming up from the engine, and through it at a building where it's upside down hood lodged into the brick, making a hole the size of a crater, before it exploded and made an even bigger one.
It would have been nice if this mutant were the only problem, but fate just didn't like to deal those kinds of cards to Sara. The fact become more prevalent as the lights flickered from inside the buildings around Sara. Something snapped and crackled front around the corner like a whip with a lot of echoes. Sparks of light and lines of electricity came around the corner, followed by a young man who couldn't look like he was more than 23, wore a black hooded sweatshirt, and had a clear chip on his shoulder. He looked like a normal person, with and angry look in his eyes with two exceptions. Sparks of electricity kept erupting around him, and from inside his slaves, connected to his wrists, were two warped 15 foot appendages that moved and looked very much like water snakes would. Complete with their own sets of barbed teeth, and glowing eyes.
The two of them took one look at Sara, then down at their fallen friends. The larger of the two, stood to his full eight foot height, His red hair covered fists peat on his own braud chest, bellowing in anger. Then falling heavily forward on his knuckles. "That was a bad move, Kitten." teased the electric mutant. One hand held up in Sara's direction mocking her with a single wagging finger.
”Picture would be for the best, in focus I take it?”
Sara smirked. “You could say that.” Sara didn’t keep cameras around her properties, but when she saw someone, she had the talent to put their image down on paper. She’d always been a bit of an artist and it was normally for pleasure, or for a lack of something else to do. However she still remembered the lizard like mutant very clearly even though it had been months since she encountered him. “I’ll have an image for you by tomorrow morning.”
Once Sara led Sam to the building, she let him do his thing. Trailing behind him with her arms crossed. Mostly because she didn’t know what to do with her arms and letting them dangle felt…. Awkward… More awkward than it already felt. “Actually, the roof was already partially caved in. This was one of the buildings that I was trying to decide if it had to come down all of the way or not. The supports were alright but there is rot where the previous owners didn’t seal things correctly. However it seems that I should have gotten the hole place bulldozed from the beginning.”
”Take it these are yours?”
Sara shook her head and was about to correct Sam when he seemed to put the clues together himself. Sara held her foot out to show. Even with the digits on her feet stretched out the other set of claw marks were twice as wide as hers. “He had really big feet and claws….. But big feet.”
”someone fall through or burst out?”
“The lizard like mutant broke some of It in with him, when he came down, but the hole was already there.” Sara would have said more but a smell caught her attention and she found herself following it’s direction to the door way. Her eyes searching for anything that was out of place from the last time that she had been in. The smell was fresh, fresher than it should have been compared to the rest of the stale smells that resided there. It took her a moment but the smell lead her to a smaller side door, and she realized that there was something off about the way the door hung on it’s hinges.
Sara smirked. Normally a joke like that wouldn't have made her crack a smile, but hey. Even she had her looser moments.
”Burnt hair smells awful by the way.”
"Imagine how I feel." Sara said. her wrist was still healing but the stinging feeling wasn't so prevalent. So she flexed her hand.
Mean while Sam ducked back into the building and Sara kept watch of the alley way and their two downed opponents. So far all the panther mutant had done was move her tail. Sara's own tail mimicked it and as the seconds kicked on, Sara heard more and more incidences around their location.
They sure were equally aware of what each other had. So equally aware that Sara should have been satisfied with liberating the statue from the other feline's arm... But she wasn't. She couldn't tell what urked her most. The fact that he had made it too easy for her, or the fact that those bangles actually belonged to Bast and... and... ahhh.. Why should she care?
She paused just outside the door. Her payment for her merchandise forgotten. She halted her thoughts as she was distracted by that thought. It wasn't like she cared about what really belonged to who before. It wasn't like Bast was still around these days anyways Sara reminded herself. Though she had met the fabled feline shifter, Bast lived thousands of years ago. She was dead long ago. So Sara mentally shook herself back into the present.
Sara was just about to purposefully turn and walk in the opposite direction, when the black panther mutant did his little mysterious farewell.
“It was a pleasure meeting you, Ms. Nobes. I do hope to see you soon.”
Sara's eye brows raised. Most of the people who knew her for her reputation knew her as Were. Friends, and I mean really close friends, would know her last name... or those whom had seen her files from the camps and the Kabal knew her last name. In fact she wasn't even sure that Cold Steal knew her last name until she started staying at the mansion. "Wait. What?"
Sara turned around. Her brows still raised in question and curiosity got the better of her more dignified side. She jogged a few steps to follow him, reaching out with her hand to grasp the other cat mutant's shoulder if he wouldn't stop right away. "How do you know my last name?"
Sara drove on keeping the van at a steady speed and the bumps in the road came in at a steady droning rhythm under the floor boards that were under their feet. There wasn't a lot of other sounds like that and saying so what's you're name didn't seem like it fit the awkward situation. So Sara decided to one up one awkward question with another.
"So where are you from?" Sara asked in a voice that sounded like normal conversation but at the same time wasn't a far step away from a sing song fashion in witch she could have asked the question. Finding out who someone was, was much more interesting than finding out a name. It gave you more information too.
