The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Holding on and waiting hurts too much." She said. And she had said it before and meant it. So why was it so hard to let go? Possibly the guilty feeling she harbored in having left the way she did. She had a thing about running away when things were getting so comfortable... But last time hadn't been like that on purpose, sher dad was dying and she had been under contract to tour... By the time she was sure she was pregnant, she swore she would call and tell him, but then her dad passed away and everything had been a hot mess!
"I try to move on," she said, "It is lonely waiting for him. Everyt'ing messed up. I just want to feel him hold me and he is gone. And I keep waiting. Soon be five years. And now I feel guilty for wanting to move on..."
The cramping was starting to slowly subside, along with the heavy puffs of breath that she made to keep breathing through the pain. She took a long, deep breath and closed her eyes, "Never been out on date before," she admitted softly.
And then she relaxed some more... Feeling less... Jumpy and nervous around Artair... Comfortable... "You do not owe me for t'at... But you might change your mind when I tell you why I got burned." She paused... This one had her not able to look at him, for she felt dirty bringing up something as vile as what had her jumpy. "I was hurt... Recently... Um... Violated... I went out, got drunk, man put drug in my beer... And..." She was rubbing at her still flat belly, then she looked at his face and bit her lip.
As far as beating him up went, she said, "I was not beating you up for date... I was just... I don't know how t'is all works. My only experience wit' t'is is my dead highschool sweetheart, a man who disappeared, and one night just to try to forget what happened for a short time. I wasn't trying to like you in t'is way, but I do."
"I am a plant. Of course I look good." She said playfully. Hey, she could make a funny after all! "I miss him. T'ere is part of me t'at just can't let go of him."
She put her hand over her mouth and stood up, stepping away and turning her back. Obviously, she hated being emotional in front of people. "I have to move on but it hurts. I see him every time I look at our baby and he isn't coming back, is he?"
"No... Not dessert... Desert... Dried up. I only ever gave myself to one man and have not gone for anot'er in five years almost, and when I did, I didn't know how to feel because it was after what happened..." She opened her eyes when Derek moved.
"I am almost 34 years old, and I am a wuss when it comes to men. But It is lonely." And she wasn't kidding.
"Oh boy... Wedding?" She shook her head, then seemed to relax against her friend. Apparently, human contact was the secret to getting her to sleep.. Or rather, snuggle type contact, she was starting to feel drowsy.
"I doubt...(insert healthy yawn here)... Anyt'ing will happen." And it probably wouldn't... She had a hard time letting someone in. It probably had everything to do with her high school sweetheart being brutally murdered before they ever had a chance. Her dad hadn't let her date him, he always had to be there or one of her siblings, they never went to prom or anything. Add to that, the one person she let close, she pushed away.
Xavia sighed and closed her eyes, "I am like a desert, if t'at makes any sense."
"Derek, I have never even been on a date before. Besides, I doubt he t'inks of me like t'at." Not to mention, she still hurt deeply over Jupiter. She had to admit that sher was lonely.
"He is pretty delicious, I will not lie," again, she was purring and red faced. "But again, complicated life." She sighed and let go of the pillow. "Last time I tryto go for it, I get told it was just my attraction to t'e mutation. T'at was messy."
Artair's name caught her attention, and she purred out, "I know..." Woops. Her face. Went. Red. Okay, so she had a thing for him. She couldn't tell if it was his accent, or the fact that he went out of his way to be a gentleman every time she saw him. But she wouldn't mind letting him shake a few leaves.
"I met him. He is really nice... He took care of me when I get burns from coffee." She cleared her throat and tried now to relax.
"Hot under spotlight. Hot in here." She said as she signalled for yet another refill of water. And then she winced at the sound of the next artist singing off key. No wonder her manager had been desperate and tried talking her into being the second act, which was longer. This guy was bad.
That was a shame, really. She was not, however, going to feel bad for taking the short set. She was busy, and singing was just a direction she didn't want to take her life. Stilk, there was no harm in taking money for talent. Ahe would end up giving it to someone in need anyways.
"I am fine... At least my head is." Her hands went to her belly, which was starting to cramp in a way that took her breath. "I do not t'ink t'is is from what you just did." And it wasn't. She took several deep breaths until the cramps subsided, and then lay back on the ground looking kind of exhausted now.
"Just tired. No sleep still." While it wasn't a lie, she wasn't mentioning the positive pregnancy test either. He hadn't said he was taking her to DocProf so she went on like nothing was wrong. When he asked what she was wanting as a prize, she shifted her eyes to his face and sighed, her face relaxing.
"It was stupid. Wanted a date. But it is not important. Not like you are interested."
She noticed, but she wasn't concerned about it seeing as she was always permeating plant smells without meaning to. Like... Right now, it was roses. But that was usually the scent she walked around with, and there was something about it that it would be easy to figure out why the guts had a thing for her.... Not to mention how much of a hottie she was.
"Nobody can do anyt'ing. I am just going to have to survive. What you can do is keep talking about your news..."
She went down harder than he probably intended for her to. Her head hit the ground and she was seeing stars. Oof. Xavia waited for the mist to clear before attempting to stand. He would see her have an odd look on her face before she got back to her stance... But now she wasn't concentrating anymore.
Heavy breaths puffed from her lips as she started to hold back. It was not his throw that did it, but the last fall from the tree. "Artair, I t'ink I have to forfeit." She dropped her hands and soon moved to sit down.
"No. I do not want one. I am fine. I have been t'rough enough in my life to learn to get over it eventually." Nope, more like shut everyone else out, ran away, etc etc. Even though she had admitted to madness creeping in. But that was more when she hadn't been sleeping.
"You do not need to go after Karrl. He just gave comfort. I will go to him in good time." Soon, she thought, since she was not trying to let anyone do more than maybe roll in the sheets with her... And even then, Karrl had been her first since before Delilah was born. "I... Wanted to lose my t'oughts for a while, it had been almost five years since I..."
"Didn't know was a race," she said with a shrug and then led him to the clearing she had set up for training. There were trees with yarn marking branches and simple platforms, and there was enough room to spar.
"If you say so, Sam." She said. "Hand to hand or wit' gift?" She moved to her position, a standard fighting stance with poker face included. She was ready.
"Okay," she said. "See you soon..." She said, and then stood up. She bent to pet the pug, then gave a sigh. "Don't be a stranger," she said without thinking, and then she headed out of the gates to go back to Central park to finish her run in the spring rain.
"I know of him. He is the original form and had several clones including Jupiter... But Jupiter is only one I met. I hope to find him soon..." She said, not mentioning their love child quite yet. She canted her head as the big red guy who reminded her of the one she had wanted to grow old with. Why was he so shy? She knew why she was awkward, but he seemed to act like he thought he was pretty gross looking or something. Xavia had literally almost married a man who looked quite similar, she really didn’t care how Leon looked.
She wasn't worried about his poison, either. "You can stay, I just came for my watch is all. You do look similar to my... Friend, Jupiter. I miss him dearly." The way she talked, the way she said Jupiter's name, eluded to said relationship.
