The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> “Yes, I’m sure it can handle you. It’s been built to handle virtually anything. If it wasn’t then it wouldn’t be a very good training room now would it?”
She grinned. She had to admit that Syn had a point. But standing there, looking at the expansive interior, Jezebel tightened her fists as she gazed around. She could only imagine what she was getting herself into. In a place that specialized in giving mutants a home, and training them, there was no telling exactly what was going to suddenly materialize before her. Her imagination ran wild, simply wild with the possibilities.
A glance behind her and she noted that Syn was stepping closer to the doorway. Was she scared? Jezebel doubted it, after all Syn looked and acted like a hellraiser herself. But if so, why was she backing away? She shrugged. Maybe Syn just didn’t want to get in the way of Jezebel letting loose.
Smart girl.
>> “Would you like to give it a try? Don’t hold anything back and I think you’ll be amazed at just how durable this stuff is.”
The grin that crept across her face was so wicked and delighted that it would have disturbed the strongest of hearts. Fists clenched with anticipation, Jezebel nodded her head eagerly. It had been awhile since she had really let loose. And, it didn’t hurt that she wanted to impress Syn too.
A glance back to Syn and she gave her a sly wink.
“Start it up,” she smiled. She then winked and blew her another kiss. “You should hang around. I’ll keep you safe…not that you’d need it.” she giggle maniacally.
>> “I’m glad to hear you’re interested my dear. As for Penelope I’m sure we can work on that. Even though her sister is human at least she has a decent name…I’d like to show you something after you’ve had your fill.”
She grinned. She liked that her new found friend was going to work something out with getting Penelope to come here. The truth of the matter was that she really needed a vacation from Lilith and her constantly whining about everything. It made Jezebel’s ears bleed to think about that whining humans voice but she was bound by her promise to Penelope to not harm her. If only she could, just once, reach out and snap that pretty little ne—
She paused and decided that such thoughts were not going to help right now. Instead she turned back to feast in front of her. It was only as that was happening that she heard Syn’s other comment about a surprise. A wicked smile crept across her face.
Surprises were always appreciated.
***
It didn’t take Jezebel long to finish eating the rest of the food. It was clear that the woman was hungry or at least ran on fuel that was more what the average person ran on. She was able to polish off absolutely everything that she had taken to the table and left only scraps and crumbles behind that were absolutely miniscule. It was actually a pretty interesting sight to see this massive woman devour all the food she had brought with such great gusto.
When it was finally done, she agreed to Syn taking her off to see a surprise. Casually she joined the woman by her side sauntered off to explore.
It was not long after that she found herself in front of a large door that opened to allowed her access. She arched a brow but agreed to enter to see what all this surprise was going to be about. What she was greeted with was a large room, dark, but looked as if it was pieced together rather haphazardly. Curious, she turned to Syn for an explanation…
>> “This is where some of us train and work on our skills and abilities.”
That immediately perked her ears up! Training? With powers?! She was already in hog heaven at the thought of that! Just knowing that there was a place where she could go while with her powers so that she could really test her limits made her want to grin. She rarely, if ever, had opportunities to do something like this since she had to be careful with her strength while out in the world. But this place…yeah, it looked more than capable of handling her abilities.
That diabolical smirk slipped across her face as she cracked her knuckles and glanced at Syn.
“Really now?” she asked. Obviously there was some pent up energy hinged in her voice that was matched with a wide, wicked smile. “So…you think it can handle me?”
Penelope breathed heavily as she found herself standing in the middle of the climber dome. Kids were climbing all over the place so none of them really had turned to give her any attention. Instead Penelope stood in the middle inside and waited for the inevitable. The boys were mad and they were not going to give up their pursuit but the least she could do was wear them down. She eyed the many openings, all the climbers and tried to find the quickest way out when suddenly she saw the snarling face of one of the boys appear nearby.
“Come ‘ere!!”
She squeaked and immediately backed away from the boy and his reach. He tried to reach her from the outside to drag her out but Penelope was swift footed enough to leap backwards. She dodged his grasp and skittered towards the opposite end of the dome when there was the sound of another boy’s voice there. She spun around to see the leader of the boys, that bully she kicked in the shin, growling and reaching for her too.
“Get out of there!!”
Penelope answered in the most dignified way she could; she stuck out her tongue.
“Nyah! Come and get me!” She shouted.
She maneuvered herself towards the center of the dome and snapped her attention back and forth. Both boys were beginning to climb inside of the dome. Penelope eyed them both but remained unmoving. It was only when they were already inside did she finally make her move. She bolted for the farthest end, jumped and latched onto the bars. The boys immediately began to pursue again, chasing her to the end and climbing up as well.
Thankfully Penelope was a fast climb. She maneuvered herself upwards, as far as she could get and avoided the rest of the kids who were climbing. When she was high enough she managed to slip back outside of the bars climbed down low enough for her to jump back onto the sand outside. There was a chorus of growls and curses from the dome as Penelope broke into a run.
She ran for the another part of the park when she saw Chase running towards her (or towards the climber dome). Fervently she shook her head that the dome was not the best option, but she kept running towards him. When she finally appeared before the boy, she quickly snatched his hand and pulled him towards a very interesting structure that was new to the playground, the wall-holla.
“Come on, Chase!” she shouted as she pulled him by his hand. “Here! We can lose them here!”
>> "You're welcome little one, and please call me Mr. Davis."
Penelope beamed but she didn’t respond after that. Instead she turned back to her drawing which was supposed to be her apology to her sister. She couldn’t believe that Mrs. Tickle got so angry! All Lilith said was that she wanted to make sure that Penelope was not kept out late like Jezebel liked to do and Penelope’s alter-ego had thrown a fit. She ranted about promising not to hurt Lilith but decided to take it out on the apartment instead.
Thankfully, most of what Mrs. Tickle had destroyed was easily replaceable: stands, a small table, a couple of dishes; but once she had turned her attentions on the pot, Penelope was able to focus and wrangle in the red-skinned woman. Now, though, like always, she was left with the aftermath of Mrs. Tickle’s fun.
But this place, it seemed nice enough! The man was nice and it looked as if he may be able to help her sister replace the pot that had been destroyed! She was thankful for that much. She would have hated it if they needed to hunt around for some other place that would also give them the same answer. But the man had perked up on hearing her sister’s description of the vase and that was all Penelope needed to feel that spark of hope in her heart.
>> "Hm... white and brown and being about a foot tall is relatively easy. How wide do you want it, and what shape? Any of these shapes fit the bill, or would you like a different shape? Would you like a handle two?"
“Oh, just simple,” Lilith said with a bit of relief in her voice. She smiled, thankful that this man would actually be able to make what she wanted from scratch. “The hourglass shaped pot there,” she said as she indicated the one she wanted, “that seems closest to the original.”
Penelope, meanwhile, had actually finished coloring her drawing and sighed a bit happily now that it was done. It was fairly quick but it should be the perfect thing to make the situation better, at least. it was going to be tough, especially since she knew how much Lilith loved that pot. But, some gesture was better than none, right?
Just as she completed the finishing touches, though, she looked up as the man returned and smiled at her. She could only respond with a smile of her own.
>> "Your drawing is quite good. If you two want, I could put her drawing onto a plate so she can admire her work as she eats her breakfast."
Penelope perked up, the smile across her face became so bright it could have lit up a room. For half a second she almost began to bounce around in her seat but, no, she was a growing girl! She couldn’t do that. She turned to Lilith to see her reaction.
Lilith cracked a smile as she looked at the drawing and then back to Penelope. With an understanding between that she accepted her younger sister’s apology, Lilith nodded. “That sounds like it would be fine. I would love that.”
“Yay!” Penelope shouted! But she instantly caught herself, regained her composure, and smiled appreciatively to Mr. Davis. “I mean, thank you very much!”
Penelope was settling into her corner where she could color in peace. She still felt so bad for Lilith because of what Mrs. Tickle did. That was not fair of her to break her sister’s favorite vase all because she was being harassed after her night out of playing. Thankfully she was tired enough where she simply knocked out to sleep after breaking the pot. Penelope always feared the day that Jezebel would do worse to Lilith. Thankfully, that day had yet to come…
>> "Hello there miss. Welcome to my shop. Feel free to look around as much as you like."
The young girl looked up and tilted her head at the man. He had a nice smile and definitely seemed friendly enough. She beamed at him from her spot but since he was not looking at her at the moment, she just turned her attention back to her sheet of paper on the ground. She was rather looking forward to just spending her time drawing while her sister looked for a replacement pot. Maybe if she was quick enough, she would be able to finish before her sister ever made a decision as to what exactly she wanted.
But, just as she was about to start, she paused when the man finally seemed to address her…
>> "Little one, there's no need to get your drawings dirty on the floor. Feel free to sit here if you wish and draw on the counter if you want to keep the dirt away from you art."
She smiled, wide. She had to admit that the floor was rather dusty but that would have been fine if she had to remain here. Instead she scrambled onto her feet and moved over to the stool and counter that she was offered.
“Thank you very much, mister!” She grinned as she scooted onto the stool and plopped the paper down onto the counter. Quietly she continued to draw her pretty sun and some birds. A nice, peaceful scene so that it would look so pretty of Lilith.
>> "Is there anything in particular that you are looking for ma'am? I can create a custom piece for you if you don't see what you want on the shelves."
Penelope glanced up as the man addressed her sister again. Silently she watched them as the man attempted to converse with her. Lilith was a quiet woman but she could definitely be fun when she wanted to. Penelope had to remark that she didn’t see many boys come to Lilith’s apartment. She wondered if maybe she just thought boys were icky or something, but she never thought to ask her. A shrug of her shoulders and she returned to working on her drawing…which was coming out better than she had hoped.
Lilith, on the other hand, had smiled thankfully to the man and walked over to the counter. Her smile was genuine, sweet, but hid a tiredness that spoke of hard times. Taking care of Penelope was obviously a hard job, considering her mutation, but Lilith never wavered. Instead she just sighed as she nodded to the man.
“Actually, yes, we had a bit of an…accident and one of my pots was broken,” she said diplomatically. It is about this big,” she said as she gestured with her hands about 12 inches apart, “white and brown. It, um, belonged to my grandmother. I was wondering if you could make something like that?”
Penelope smiled a little sadly as she looked up from her drawing. “I’m sorry Lily. Jezebel didn—“
Lilith only hushed Penelope with a look, but not a mean one. Just more of a “not in front of strangers” look. Both then turned back to the man and awaited his decision on whether or not a replacement job could be done…
>> “Perhaps she just needs to understand things more.”
Jezebel nodded, slowly, as she took in Syn’s words. They were words that she definitely knew were true and a mantra that she repeated to herself whenever she was out of that little girl’s body. She did not want to bring Penelope to harm, at least not while they were connected, but she just wished that things could be easier by making her see the truth. Penelope was so trusting but she needed to understand that humans were vermin, they needed to be eradicated, all of them; including her sister.
But, Penelope, despite her cheerfulness, was a stubborn little pest that never wanted to admit the truth. Eventually, though, she would have to. It was humans who took her parents away, humans who destroyed the happy life that she once had, no, she would learn. And Jezebel was going to be there to make sure that she did learn that lesson.
She grumbled at the thought as she stabbed a rather large slice of cheesecake with her fork, lifted it up, and began to bite huge chucks out of it thoughtfully.
>> “Well then, however things happen it would be nice to have you both stay here with us. I’m sure we could use someone with your talents and shared views.”
Jezebel grinned. Oh she definitely had talents (violence, murder, pain, etc.) and she was only too happy to share them with people who actually understood her point of view. It had been too long since she was able to share anything like that. Though if this place really was on the up-and-up and they only specialized in offering shelter to wayward mutants, then how could she really put her talents to work? Maybe by keeping the peace?
Pfft, sounded boring. Then again, with someone like Syn here, there had to be room for some fun stuff, didn’t there? Syn didn’t really look like a pacifist so maybe there was indeed something going on here that Jezebel couldn’t see. She shrugged, though, as she grinned.
“I’m down for staying,” she beamed, wide. “Penelope may not like it, though. She relies on our sister too much, Lilith, who is her legal guardian. I can’t hurt the human,” she said with a shrug as she eyed Syn. “Promised the brat. Buuuut…I’m sure you have some persuasive skills of your own?”
LOL I'm down to throw Penelope into Roach's ring. She could be a good little deciever for him. Maybe she is his prize champion that he sends out to take on newbs and bets on her cause she always wins? Or just likes her because she makes a good pet!
Either way, Penelope/Jezebel is ready to follow Roach!
Penelope was feeling bad. She quietly walked next to her sister Lilith as they made their way down the sidewalk, heading for a destination that the young girl didn’t know. She was not sure of their destination, but she did know why they were headed here. A new pottery store had opened and, since Jezebel had a tendency to break things in Lilth’s apartment whenever she was out to play, she managed to shatter on of her sister’s favorite pots. Penelope felt bad and promised to pay for it (though it would take a while since she didn’t have a job), but Lilith had told her it was okay.
Now…they were on the trek to get a replacement pot. Penelope hoped that this place would have whatever Lilith was looking for. She hated to think that something her sister loved was destroyed because she couldn’t stop Jezebel’s twisted idea of play time.
She frowned as she held the strap of her backpack, decked out in her favorite pair of overalls and a bright pink top that had a glittery koi fish on the front. Her small gaze looked up as she stared at the surrounding buildings; they were so tall and wide that for a second she thought she was going to get dizzy. Still she was not fully used to the huge expanse that embodied New York City. Not that Washington D.C. was any smaller, but this place…it just reached so high.
But she took a breath as she caught sight of Lilith slowing down. They both paused in front of a store, to which Penelope looked up and read the sign…
“Davis Pottery Shop?” she asked herself.
Lilith smiled, a little sadly, but patted Penelope on the shoulder. “Come on. You find a corner to draw while I look around, okay?”
Penelope silently nodded as she followed her sister into the pottery store. She gazed about at all the pretty (and breakable) things and instantly took a breath; she needed to make sure that she was extra calm here since the last thing she wanted was for Jezebel to look for an excuse to come out and break more stuff. Shuffling a little behind her sister, Penelope gaze around until she found a little alcove that she could squeeze into. She tugged at Lilith’s hand and, when she got approval from her, dashed over, sat down, and began to color while Lilith attended to her business.
Maybe she would draw her a pretty sun as an apology…
The cheesecake was awesome! Jezebel was already starting on the cheesecake, but not before she managed to snatch up her diet Pepsi (after all, she needed to watch her figure) and took a long sip from that. She was very much enjoying herself here, along with Syn. Maybe she could “convince” Lilith to let Penelope stay here for awhile. Besides, it was obvious that the woman didn’t care to have her around very much. She just never voiced it.
This though, this place was a haven! Jezebel would like it very much…
>> “I’m guessing Penelope likes humans then? It’s understandable for one so young to be so naive in regards to humans. Although I wonder if the girls she mentioned that were picking on her were humans.”
Jezebel snickered.
She knew exactly how sweet and innocent Penelope was. The girl was naïve as to the issue that mutants had to face and kept telling herself that everything would be fine. But Jezebel knew how stupid a sentiment that was. Penelope was just inexperienced and she needed to learn exactly how cruel humans can be.
“Psh, the little tyke doesn’t see the evolutionary line that you and I see, dear Syn,” she grinned as she took another bite of her cheesecake. “She wants everyone to like each other. But…she does get frustrated when people constantly prove her wrong.” She cackled at the thought of Penelope getting frustrated and upset. It never lasted long because not long after that would occur, Jezebel would make her entrance. “And those stupid brats were human,” she said in reference to the end of Syn’s last statement. “They the scare I gave them. Needed to get their diapers wet.”
She grinned and turned back to her food. But as she did, Syn’s next question almost caused her to pause…
>> “I’m curious as to how the two of you came to be joined. Would one of you be a manifestation the other has created? I can easily see how you could be all of Penelope’s built up anger and rage.”
She twitched, craned her next to the side and cracked it as she turned to face Syn. That was one of the most touchy subjects for the red amazon. She absolutely loathed the idea that she was bound to this weak little girl; she hated thinking that she didn’t have an individual identity and that she was little more than an after effect of the girl’s power. Sure, that, essentially, was what she was, but Jezebel always felt that she had always been there, that she would one day get a chance to break free from Penelope when she was strong enough! But she didn’t need a reminder of her predicament.
Her molten yellow gaze settled on Syn momentarily as she sucked cheesecake out from between her teeth. A dangerous smile slowly crept across her full lips…
“I’m more than enough to be a manifestation on my own,” she said a sultry and yet growling voice. “I’m getting stronger. Soon enough, the brat won’t even be around anymore.”
It was more of a hope than fact. But Jezebel would train, make herself stronger, and, one day, she would rid herself of Penelope once and for all.

Before Syn had even begun to talk, Jezebel was already working halfway through the plate of chicken wings. This place certainly had a spread! And the best part was that when she had gone up to the worker to place her order, the person didn’t even bat an eye! It was as if people ordered this amount of food for themselves on a daily basis; that only lead to Jezebel really appreciating the type of place that she was in. They obviously catered to all types of mutants with various kinds of needs.
She was in such bliss that she barely realized she was nearly done with her chicken wings (spicy picante flavor too!) So she switched over to taking a swig from one of the mugs of beers. It was once she was done downing half the stein that she set it back on the table and listened intently to Syn.
>> “This is a place for mutants to come live amongst others of their kind and be safe from the ridicule of the pathetic humans. The original benefactor was also a mutant who shared similar views as you and I.”
It was partially almost as if Syn was reading from a script. Jezebel was a smart enough woman to know when pieces of a story were being kept from her (or at least suspect it). She didn’t press the issue though. The number mutants gathered, plus the presence of someone like Syn hinted at the possibility of there being more to this place. But, for the meantime, she was go along and assume that is simply what it was.
Even those persecuted mutants, with no escape from the critical eyes of humans, needed a refuge of some kind—even if they were not preparing for war.
But she smiled at the idea of a benefactor having a similar mindset. Maybe that was someone she should introduce herself to? Well, after she got to know Syn a bit more…
She grinned as she stabbed a steak with a fork, held it up and took a large bite from it. The savory taste of salt and beef tickled her tongue and she sighed happily. The chef here must have had his own show on the Food Network or something!
Chewed thoughtfully before she swallowed and regarded Syn again.
“A benefactor after my own heart,” she giggled. “My father always tried to teach Penelope that humans were nothing more than a failed, natural experiment. They lived out their lives, followed their path, and now it is time for them to go extinct. But they keep clinging on, like cockroaches.” she smiled wide, keeping her eyes on the beer mug that she picked up and took a long draught from. “Guess they just need a nudge into oblivion.”
>> “Your parents sound like they were wonderful. Mine weren’t and that’s why they had to go. I’m sure it would’ve been a pleasure working with your parents.”
Jezebel grinned at that. She sincerely did care about her parents and absolutely everything that they stood for. They only wanted to usher in the natural order that the world was beginning to evolve into. It was not their fact that humans were clinging onto the last bits of hope of supremacy. Their time was coming to an end and they needed to accept that. She knew, eventually, that they would, but of course she hoped to speed that recognition up a bit.
For a few months there, she had gotten into a slump, unable to figure out her next move to fulfill her parents dream. She truly began to feel like she was the last person that felt like this…
>> “I’m sure I won’t have a problem with that at all. In fact I look forward to it.”
She smirked at Syn’s wide smile. It seemed that her lone fight against the struggling world was finally at an end! She loved the fact that this woman shared many of the same ideals that she was raised with. It meant that she had an ally, finally! And, on top of that, Syn did not look like a woman who would go down without a fight. Strong people were attractive to her so she would surround herself with as many as possible.
>> “Here we are my dear. You’re welcome to eat whatever you wish whether it’s already made, or you can have the cooks make you something you don’t see available.”
Jezebel’s eyes widened, glaring extra molten yellow as she spied the dining area. It was large, filled with mutants of most shapes and sizes, wandering around with their own collections of food. But the most tantalizing part of this place was not only the sights and sounds…but it was the smells. The glorious smells of delectable food wafted across her nostrils and suddenly her stomach grumbled loud and fierce!
It was time for fuel.
Maddened giggles fell from her lips as she accidentally began to drag Syn along with her until she was standing (towering) above the gathered chefs and already laid out vittles. With a grin, she began to not only collect but to order anything she didn’t see. It was magical…
****
A short time later, Jezebel walked alongside Syn as she carried a rather massive tray that was laden down with many, many, many, many, MANY plates of food. It may have seemed like too much but it would soon become obvious that Jezebel was more than capable of handling it. She found a seat she liked, she set the tray down on the table top before she whipped around to pull out Syn’s chair in order for her to join in on good conversation (After all, human-bashing, always ended up as great conversation).
Once Syn decided whether or not she would join her, Jezebel took own seat (which momentarily creaked but didn’t break under Jezebel’s massive size). She sighed as she picked up a mug of beer, grinned and took a long swig of it. A happy sigh was emitted as she set the glass down and immediately set to work on a large pile of chicken wings, but, of course, not before she turned to Syn and continued to questioning.
“So, if I may ask you something,” she started. “What is the deal with this place? Yes, I understand helping mutants but is that all? It seems like this place as a perfect opportunity for rallying the troops.”
Penelope was actually giggling as she ran and remained at pace with Chase. The boy was fast but Penelope was just as quick as he was. The two were neck and neck for a bit as they glance at each other, giggled again, and then bolted towards the rest of the playground equipment. It was actually quite exhilarating to be running from these boys that so obviously did not like them. Penelope still didn’t understand how they could have been so cross.
After all, they were the ones that started it, not her or Chase. But, whatever…
>> “We should probably split-up, too. Meet up somewhere.”
She nodded as she sharp eyes looked ahead. It was then that she noticed a shady area near a pond not far from the play area. If they managed to maneuver and slip past those two chasing them, they could easily hide out in the shrubs next to the edge of the water. Boys were generally dirty and didn’t like water to remove the grime and dirt they so wonderfully collected throughout the day.
“The pond!” she shouted, but only at a level that he could hear, not their pursuers. “Meet at the pond!”
>> Split-up! Split-up!”
She nodded as Chase veered off in another direction, choosing to run towards the younger kids area. Great, that meant that Penelope needed to run to bigger playground equipment. But, with no other alternative, she didn’t complain about it. Instead she buckled down and ran with every bit of strength that her little legs could offer her.
Behind her she could hear the harsh breathing of her chaser but she didn’t look back. She needed to keep her eyes forward for anything that she could use to slow him down. Running, she bolted for the first thing that she could see, the slide. With no one on it, Penelope grabbed onto the rungs to the ladder and pulled herself up as quickly as she could. The second that she reached the top, she looked back to see that one of the boy’s was attempting to climb up as well. It was only when he was close to the top did she grab onto the sides of the slide, instead of sliding down, and dropped onto the ground, landing effortlessly onto her two feet.
The boy cursed in a very bad word!
She grinned as she ran off again, leaving him to either slide farther away from her or climb down the ladder again. His inconvenience was her gain.
“Come back here you little twerp!!”
Penelope stuck her tongue out again as she ran for the climber dome. If this boy wanted to catch her, she was going to make him work for it!
Stroll was nice, if a little slow for Jezebel, but she was at a pretty high strength so she doubt that Penelope was going to reign back control of her any time soon. Instead she was going to enjoy her stroll with this interesting woman and find out as much about this place as she could. It was interesting and it seemed full of possibilities. With the amount of mutants she had already seen, her parents would have been proud to call this place home.
She wondered if she could convince Penelope leave her pathetic human sister behind and live here? But she would save such thoughts for later, right now she wanted to know more about her very pretty companion here.
>> “Thank you my dear. I look forward to it…I suppose if you consider someone who made her own sister kill their parents a hellraiser then yes I am that and much more.”
A dangerous and complying smile twisted the edges of Jezebel’s lips up. Hearing such a statement seemed to make her eyes light up with awe and appreciation…she was tantalized with this woman already. Whether such an action was done with the aid of mutant powers or not, she didn’t know; but it didn’t really matter. Just the fact that this woman shared nearly the same ruthlessness as herself, made her grin.
>> “Like you I’m also a mutant and I’m very persuasive. Also like you, I wish to see us mutants rise up to our rightful place as rulers of this world and crush the pathetic humans.”
Jezebel nodded as she began to follow the smell of food. They must have been close to the dining area and already her mouth was water with whatever delectable food may be within. But her mind momentarily left the salivating world of food as she listened to Syn. A reminiscent smile appeared on her lips as she nodded; they were like minded! So much so that Syn actually reminded her of her parents and their own beliefs that they attempted to drill into Penelope’s head.
Penelope never followed the teachings…but Jezebel took to them like a duck to water.
“It is the natural order that the only the strongest survive,” she replied knowingly. “My parents fought the good fight. They were mutant freedom fighters in D.C., Hellfyre and Gold Fox. Oh the human casualties they wracked up between the two of them!” she giggled at the statement. “They’re vision was so beautiful. Had they lived…I’m sure they would have loved to work with you.” Jezebel then looked a little coy as she nudged the woman playfully with her hip (which probably nudged against Syn’s ribs considering how tall Jezebel was). “Guess you’ll just have to make do with me.”
