The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. As he continued to plummet towards the base of the canyon Simon closed his eyes and drew a deep breath as he enjoyed the adrenaline rush that was currently coursing through his system. He couldn’t remembered the last time he’d done this, certainly it hadn’t been in the city, there were far too many who might catch glimpse and mistaken identify his actions as suicide and while it might have been entertaining to have the authorities searching for a non existent corpse he really didn’t want any unnecessary attention. Now though the probability that he was spotted was so close to zero it didn’t even bear thinking about, he could relax and possibly even enjoy himself.
With the ground below enlarging at a rapid rate as it sought to meet him the elemental eventually redirected his thoughts away from the sense of exhilaration such an experience granted him and focused upon more pressing matters. Straightening his figure so that he was now diving towards the ground head first like a javelin Simon opened his eyes to mere slits as he watched the rushing rapids of the river below zoom up to meet him. In the last moment before contact and what would have surely been a bloody end the merc twisted and swiftly performed a front flip so the soles of his feet faced the fast moving current, the instant this simple action had been completed the surrounding air immediately condensed to the point where it became almost solid leaving it’s master frozen a hairs breath above the rivers icy current without causing a single ripple, which gave the young man no small sense of satisfaction.
‘It worked’ the simple thought caused the merest hint of a smirk haunted his features; ever since his foolish escapade with Trista not two weeks ago Zephyr had been replaying the event over in his mind repeatedly, determined to find something positive about his ill thought out actions. Ironically enough the silver lining to this metaphorical cloud had come from the little thief herself; the abnormal prison she had managed to create out of desperation opened a completely new avenue of possibilities for the elementals talents. He had at first attempted to duplicate Trista’s actions exactly; extending his focus to each individual atom and commanding it to halt, however he had met with precious little success in that field for although his control was near impeccable it was still not quite at the point where he could affect mass amounts of air at the sub atomic level. The merc had little doubt though that sufficient practice in the future would grant him the mastery he needed.
Zephyr had not simply halted at trying to imitate the girls attack though, when his initial attempts had failed he had gone back to the proverbial drawing board and racked his mind in search of some other method to replicate Ms. Evans results. The answer had been surprising simple; by forcing air into a limited space and compressing it to the point where it could no longer move the various gases which comprised air took on the physical characteristics of a solid. Needlessly to say this gave the merc a wide number of new possibilities for both defense and attack as well as movement, however at the moment his mastery of this new skill was not quite up to par and he was utilizing every opportunity available to practice with it.
After a time when Simon had finished admiring the clarity of the water below him he decided that it would be prudent to begin moving once more, he only had a few days left after all and he wished to see as much of this geological marvel as possible. Focusing his thoughts upon his element he carefully grasped a multitude of nearby molecules and shifted them below his feet before slowly compressing them as densely as possible, in affect creating an invisible which led to dry ground and giving the mercenary the illusion that he was walking on water like some religious prophet, Zephyr chuckled at the notion as he reach the dry bank which encased the river and began exploring the canyon once more.

Along the desolate stretch of wasteland which spanned either side of the deep gorge known as the Grand Canyon few things of interest could be seen. The areas only natural source of moisture had long since abandoned this level of elevation when it ate a path through the surprisingly permeable rock bed below it. The lack of moisture meant that little, if any vegetation grew in this area, and so many tourists avoided the place, seeking other, more comfortable areas from which to view one of the planets greatest natural marvels. However despite these rather harsh conditions one determined plant had managed to stake its claim in the barren soil and leech out an existence from the intermittent rainfall. The tree also provided a suitable measure of cover from the suns intense noonday rays and it was for this reason that Simon had designated the area as his temporary recuperation point as he sought to cool down and wait out the almost suffocating heat.
So it was that Zephyr could be found perched upon a jutting outcrop of rock on the fifth day of his long overdue vacation, his azure orbs sweeping slowly back and forth as he committed the sight of this seemingly boundless abyss to memory. After being surrounded for so long by the countless pillars of steel and concrete that most would call a city the elemental had become swept up in the desire to be constantly active, to rush from one place to the next without goal or purpose completely consumed by the frantic aura exuded from the metropolis’s innumerable residents. The vast open space of the scene before him now though induced a sense of calm in the elementals mind, allowing his body to relax and release the tension it had slowly been accumulating. He had nowhere to go and nothing to do, even his vampiric employer would not be disturbing him this day for the elemental had left the annoying chronometer and communication device in a hotel safe some fifty miles from his current position. Hunter might disapprove of the action but for all Zephyr cared the immortal could go hang himself, he refused to be bothered by the mans trivial concerns and assignments for at least the rest of the week.
‘A true work of art’ Zephyr mused as he gazed down into the canyons unfathomable depths and focused upon the minute blue ribbon which meandered it’s way through the formidable stone wall encaging it. The thought that such a seemingly insignificant force of nature was capable of wearing down and eroding the stereotypically durable element of stone still filled the young mans mind with a sense of awe. He knew how the process worked of course; his father had spared no expense on the tutors entrusted with his education, but still his knowledge could not take away from the appreciation he felt for this natural wonder. ‘The elements truly are a force to be reckoned with’ he thought with a wry smile as the surrounding air picked up just slightly and crafted a gentle breeze into being.
Unfortunately the merc’s moment of relaxation did not last long; even under the cool shade cast by the solitary tree the heat of the day was still unpleasant. Admittedly the elemental could easily dismiss the discomfort he was currently experiencing by crafting a simple breeze he chose to instead take it as a sign that he was to move on and so after a habitual, yet unneeded glance at his surroundings Simon swung his legs over the edge of the cliff and pitched his entire form out into the yawning chasm below, permitting himself to enjoy the sensation of freefalling as he aimed his body towards the rapidly widening sapphire ribbon far below him.

Thought I'd throw in a character that's been bouncing around in my head for a while. However due to the limited amount of free time that I have I don't know if I'll be an active a participant in your Morlock thread, though I must say I love the idea.

Name: Naga
Age: 14
Appearance: As you might guess from alias listed above Naga is something of a cross between a human and almost all reptiles known to man. He is covered from head to foot in minute, but durable, scales which have no set colour, although the default shade seems to be dark emerald. Each of his limbs, excluding the tail, are tipped with retractable which, although incredibly sharp, are rarely used. The little that can be seen of his eyes in the darkened sewer passages show the iris's to be a murky a brown similar to that of mud with diamond shaped pupils set in the center. Naga also posses, surprisingly enough, a tail; reach roughly 5ft in length this additional prehensile appendage is as long as Naga is tall and functions like a third hand for the young mutant.
As for clothes Naga truly has little need for them as his outer skin is more durable than any type of cloth. However to satisfy the sense of modesty which was instilled into him by his parents before the appearance of his mutation the young reptile has taken to wearing a rather worn pair of jeans and a obsidian hooded sweatshirt.
Powers: as previously noted Naga seems to have a relation to almost every reptile/serpent known to man and this most clearly reflected in the sheeo number of abilities his mutation grants him:
-enhanced strength, reflexes, senses - extending tongue -claws -thermal vision -ability to "taste" scents -capable of detecting the presence of others via vibrations in his surroundings -gecko like ability to cling to walls -can shed skin to form an unconvincing "decoy", can only do this once a month or so. -can detach limbs to escape if necessary, limbs will be regrown but require concentration and a lot of energy -poison fangs -chameleon ability to change the colour of his scales.

A good forty minutes passed for the British merc as he waited for a likely candidate to appear. It wasn't that sanctuary was deserted, far from it, every 30 seconds or so the elemental would spy groups or individuals wandering the hall ways. Zephyr had greeted all of them with a polite nod of his head and friendly smile in an attempt to engage in conversation. However it seemed the inhabitants of Sanctuary were not a very trusting of strangers for he had either been ignored or gazed at suspiciously. He probably shouldn't have been surprised at such behavior; after all most, if not all of the Sanctuary's population came from the streets and current attitude towards mutants meant that most of them had been betrayed at some point in their lives, sometimes by their own family. It was understandable that they would be wary around strangers, even their own kind.
'This is taking too long' Zephyr thought with an air of irritation as yet another group passed him by with silent stares. He was actually surprised that Hunter hadn't contacted him to tell him to get a move on, the man apparently had more patience then elemental had, still being 400+ his employer probably got a lot of practice.
The sound of a door opening caught his ears and Zephyr whipped his head round in time to see a sickly youth with shifting eyes and a hunched posture exiting his chambers. 'He'll do' Zephyr concluded as he recognized the tell tale signs of a social outcast; the kind of person no one wanted to associate with and often pretended didn't exist, causing them to pick up a lot of the local gossip. Pushing himself off the wall he had been leaning against Zephyr made a bee line straight towards his intended target who had already headed down the hall...
---
Zephyr strolled down Sanctuary's corridors with a bored look on his face. The kid had known an impressive amount about the many social cliques that inhabited this little haven but hadn't been able to tell the elemental anything he wanted know. After he'd pressed the boy for a bit and bought him a chocolate bar he'd learned that, aside from Abyss whom he'd already met, all his other targets hadn't been seen for a while and were most likely out in the city somewhere. This meant it was unlikely he'd actually be able to complete his mission but he was disinclined to leave Sanctuary's walls just yet; he was after all a keen explorer and this was one of the few mutant strongholds that existed in the world. He'd wander around for a bit and if he happened to wind up somewhere he shouldn't well...that would just be a bonus really.
---
Two hours later after touring the classrooms, library, dining hall and a rather large garage Simon finally stumbled upon the foyer and made his exit through the ornate golden doors. He may not have done exactly what his employer wanted but he'd managed to get a decent idea of Sanctuary's layout and that was enough for him.
[Topic Left/Thread Closed]
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Sanctuary truly was built like a maze; each corridor was as bland as the last. The most outgoing decoration the elemental had seen so far in the place had been a plotted plant and even that had been synthetic.
Wandering around listlessly as was his want Zephyr found his eyes drawn to the rather large windows that adorned Sanctuary's outer walls. He was somewhat surprised that an institution housing a horde of mutants would contain such large, and apparently easily breakable, windows. Upon closer inspection of the glass portals though the elemental found something somewhat surprising although not altogether unexpected.
Both above and below the windows were thin slits which parallel with the glass frame. The slits were no more than a few inches across if that and there was clearly something wedged in it's dark shadows that Zephyr couldn't quite see. His curiosity being what it was he couldn't simply let it be and so Simon set out to find exactly what was hidden in the alcoves above each window.
Taking a moment to examine his surroundings the elemental quickly noted the two security cameras nestled in the corridors natural shadows, not the type of person who enjoyed being watched Zephyr allowed a moment to catch the cameras on his own spy cam like he had done with all the others he had found so far. With that done Zephyr proceeded to summon duplicate gusts of wind which were just strong enough to move the camera's ever so slightly in order to remove himself from their range of vision.
Now that he was no longer being monitored Zephyr went to work on revealing exactly what was hidden in the narrow wedges. Retrieving the Zippo lighter from his pocket the elemental created a small flame and raised it into the dark hollow before bending the flame to his will by manipulating the nearby oxygen, with this new lighting Zephyr was granted a clear view of the jagged metallic teeth hidden within the narrow slit. 'Not good' the elemental had seen this type of security measure before; the jagged metal teeth were the top half of an interlock steel plate. During times of emergency the plate would fall down to cover the widows half way and would be met by another set of teeth rising from the below the window to protect the structure of the building.
'Some would consider this kind of security excessive, especially for a place bearing "Sanctuary" as it's title' Zephyr mused as he shut the lighter and returned it to his pocket. He'd probably have to report this to hunter later since it was somewhat difficult to catch the hidden steel plates on camera, for now though he would continue with his exploration.
Despite their annoying security measures the view he was granted through the expensive looking windows was the only indicator the elemental had that he was moving forward and not going in circles, as he been previously thinking when he had first deviated away from Abyss. Still the view would only help him as long as he staid in the outer corridors. If he truly wanted to become familiar with the complex twist and turns of this self declared haven then he would have to wander away from the natural light granted by the sun like a damn vampire and seek out the artificial fluorescence granted by the humming electrical lights placed overhead.
That episode of his exploration could come later though for as Zephyr turned the latest corner he found himself wandering down a hall lined with doors on either side. Glancing at the few doors that were ajar the elemental quickly determined that he had stumbled onto Sanctuary's living quarters, the perfect place to observe and possibly interrogate residents, he might even find one of the priority targets that Hunter was so keen on examining.
With dial tone ringing in his ear the british merc allowed one eyebrow to be raised at the brash behaviour of his contact. The woman obviously skipped bedside manner 101 during her education, that was assuming she'd had an education of course...
Slipping the phone shut and returning it to its proper place the elementals features once became almost unbearably smug; if this new mystery employer truly was interested in his skills then he had no need to deal with Sanctuary and therefore no need to acquaint himself with Syn any longer. All of Simon's annoyance seemed to drain away and he was left in a suspiciously good mood that was uncharacteristic of him, almost as though he had been drugged, still he didn't dwell on the thought he had another potential employer to see, hopefully one that was superior to the self proclaimed "Syn-ful" woman before him.
Searching the depths of his pockets once more Simon quickly withdrew one of his rarely used calling cards; similar to the card abyss had given him the card listed his cell phone number and his alias as Zephyr. Flipping th card and catching it between his index and middle fingers the elemental flashed the card at Syn. "It appears my services are required elsewhere, however if Mr. King should return tell him that I am willing to work for anyone, provided the price is right" with that said Simon flicked his wrist and sent the card flying gracefully through the air to land almost perfectly on the abandoned receptionists desk.
"Now if you'll excuse me I must take my leave"
--
Topic Left Syn you now have a means of contacting Zephyr, feel free to bug him at any time.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
“Someone who can offer you a job with a six figure salary,” came the terse reply, “Now are you Zephyr or am I wasting my time?”
The elemental in question raised an eyebrow, it certainly seemed as the woman had been briefed on how to get his attention. Monetary gain was Simon's strongest motivator and it had resulted in him backstabbing his employer more than once. Some may criticize him for such a lack of loyalty but Simon always made it plain to his employers that he was a mercenary to the core and that the second he was given a better offer he would take it. Because of his mercenary tendencies, whenever he became involved in a conflict between two affluent crime lords it was not unusual for offers to reach seven figures. At one point he had even received an eight figure offer in exchange for sparring a crime bosses life. The man later failed carry through with his promise and his corpse had yet to be found.
Intrigued by the offer Simon decided to see how far he could push this mysterious benefactor, "Make it seven figures and we can talk" Though he doubted the woman would accept his request he had an ulterior motive behind his words. If he had judged Syn's character correctly then she was doubt listening in on his conversation. If she heard him discussing figures of such size with another potential employer she may consider him more valuable and therefore increase his starting salary.
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Upon hearing the familiar star wars ring tone emanating from his pocket Simon swiftly withdrew the sleek obsidian cell phone he had purchased in France a little over a year ago. The phone had been specially designed so that it was untraceable and the signal it sent was encrypted to prevent anyone from listening in on his conversations. It had cost him a tidy sum but he judged the investment worth every penny for it allowed him to communicate with his previous employers without any risk. The fact that it was ringing now though was something of a curiosity to the elemental. precious few people knew his number and he could not think of any reason for any of them to contact him now; he had faked his death shortly before coming to the States and had left a clear message in the European underwolrd stating that he had no intention of returning for at least a year.
Deciding to sate his curiosity Simon flipped open the phone and answered the call. he was greeted by a womens voice, “Are you the man known as Zypher?”
Simon frowned, the voice wasn't one he recognized yet she knew his alias, perhaps she was someone secretary, that would explain it. Still he wanted to know who he was dealing with before the conversation truly got started, in a calm tone he replied, "Who wants to know?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"How about telling me your name then? I'm not going to have someone running around known only as the guy who can cut things."
Simon raised an eyebrow at this line of inquiry, was he finally getting somewhere? If Syn wasn't interested in his abilities then she wouldn't have needed a name, so her latest question meant he had a good shot at becoming employed and employment meant a paycheck which made his off shore bank account very happy.
With this sudden revelation Simon took a deep breath and felt some of his irritation leave him, things didn't seem quite so bad anymore. After all what did he really have to worry about? He still had funds from his time in Europe which would be sufficient for at least a years worth of living. He was also still widely unknown in this country which meant he could enjoy himself more then he could back home; he'd already cut the local crime rate in half if he'd counted the number of corpses correctly.
Yes thing were going well, all he had to do now was get himself on Sanctuary's payroll and he could start enjoying himself again.
The elemental returned his attention to Syn and gave her a smug look; the woman may not know her place in the world but she wasn't worth his irritation. He knew he was superior to her and that was what mattered. As for her query regarding his name he wasn't fool enough to reveal his birth name, an alias would be all she would receive, 'hmm what monicker should I give her?' I suppose my European alias will be sufficient'
"You may call me Zephyr"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"Interesting talent you have. How did you shred that plant though?"
Simon shrugged his shoulders and placed his hands in his pockets,"That's for me to know" he stated calmly, "The fact that I can do it should be sufficient for you" he was not about to give a seminar on what made him tic, that was something only an idiot would do.
It was at this point that Omen chose to give her own speech detailing her powers and some of her past. The azure skinned women immediately dropped below Syn in Simon's mental ranking.
Allowing his eyes to wander away from Syn the elemental glanced at the sapphire skinned new comer. He hadn't given her much attention before, mainly because of the fact that her appearance was one that was difficult to ignore. The fact that she made almost no attempt to hide her azure skin probably meant that she relished the attention her mutation granted her and Simon was in no mood to pander to the womans wishes.
"...and you? Doing something syn-ful, I hope." 'Bloody brilliant' he thought sarcastically as he listened to the womens conversation, now if he actually managed to get a job here he'd not only have to deal with Syn but also an attention seeking blue haired nympho, if the look the woman gave Syn was any indication that is.
Just my luck I'd have to deal with another woman' Simon thought with a vague feeling of irritation as he regarded the newcomer silently. He had made no attempt to hide his disdain of woman, in fact Syn had commented on it and her choice of words revealed a new tid bit of information to the elemental, "...I can understand wanting to speak with Dorian since he is the man in charge." 'So that's who I need to speak to' Simon made a mental note to track the man down at a later date.
Pulling his attention back to the present the elemental observed Syn carefully, although he considered the woman beneath him, at this moment in time she was the one he had deal with and so the faster he could analyze her character the faster he could try to turn the conversation to his advantage. For the moment all he knew of the women was that she seemed to enjoy toying with people which most likely meant she had plenty of skill in verbal battles and so Simon was disinclined to test her wit in their first meeting. "So, now we're back to one of my questions. What kind of job are you looking for? I'd appreciate it if you more specific because if you leave it to my imagination then you may be doing things less desirable than what you are hoping for."
Simon resisted the urge to roll his eyes, hadn't he already made his intentions clear? Morals were no obstacle for him, he would take any task as long as it paid well enough. Apparently the girl before him had been unable to properly interpret his words. Still if the girl was going to allow him to choose the nature of his tasks he may as well select one that allowed regular use of his unique abilities.
Taking a moment to glance at his surroundings once more Simon eyed a potted plant a few feet behind him, directly in Syns line of vision it didn't look to be very expensive. 'It seems that will have to do' he thought in a depressed tone as he met Syns eyes once again, "I suppose I am more suited to physical tasks..." he began slowly, "...I have also been told that I have a certain skill for cutting people down to size"
As the final words left his mouth the elemental called upon a portion of the power inside him and unleashed it. The nearby air was immediately bent to his will and carried out the task it was given; slicing the potted plant to ribbons. Normally Simon loathed the idea of demonstrating his powers for show, it achieved nothing and only informed others as to what he capable of, not something the elemental desired for it then denied him the element of surprise later on. Still one of the advantages of air was that no one was capable of seeing the movement of individual molecules, so to the womens eyes it would appear as though the plant had been decimated by a score of invisible blades.

((OOC: Apologies if this post is a little out continuity, I wrote before omen entered and I don't have the energy to rewrite it completely.))
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
"So then I'm assuming that you are willing to do anything as long as you are paid. Is that right?"
Simon narrowed his eyes in obvious annoyance, this was the second time she had avoided answering his question and to say he was becoming vexed would be an understatement. 'I don't have time to waste on idle chatter' he thought irritably as he fought to keep a neutral expression on his face. Still he couldn't afford to cause any kind of incident that would ruin his chances of employment, no matter how tempted he was to send her hurtling down the expansive corridor.
Something needed to be done as it as obvious to Simon that the girl had no intention of aiding him. He could simply abandon the girl and make his own way through sanctuary. There was bound to be others located in Sanctuary's maze like corridors, and although they may not be guaranteed to know the people he was seeking they hopefully wouldn't be as irritating as the blonde before him.
Twisting his body Simon made to step around his unpleasant acquaintance and even managed to take a few steps down the tiled hallway until clicking heels registered the receptionists long awaited return.
"Oh hello Syn. Is this he a new possible resident?"
The elemental froze in mid-step, his left foot hanging three inches above the ground. he remained frozen like for that for half a second before returning his foot to floor and craning back with deliberate slowness to stare at the receptionist. "What did you say her name was?" the elementals voice was a dead monotone as realization began to dawn.
Lisa seemed a it surprised by the question but she answered swiftly, "Umm it's Syn... is that a problem?"
Simon resisted the urge to groan, instead simply closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Turning round to face the receptionist fully he avoided eye contact with Syn as he posed his next question. "I don't suppose Mr. King is free at the moment is he?" As he was talking the elemental sent up a silent prayer that the answer would be yes.
"I'm afraid he isn't available at the moment, I could take a message if you'd like"
With a short sigh Simon shook his head, "No, that won't be necessary"
After a moment or two of silence Simon turned his gaze towards Syn and met her emerald eyes with his own. It seemed that she was his only option if he wanted to have any hope of working in sanctuary. The fact did not sit well with him but if were paid enough he could easily overlook it. Still he wasn't quite sure how to proceed at this point. "Well.." he said eventually, "where do we go from here?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Allowing the card to be plucked form his hand Simon let his gaze wander as the girl occupied herself with inspecting the cheap piece of paper. Why she needed to do so escaped the elemental completely, but it was none of his concern. He had other things on his mind, he truly needed to find some sort of employment soon or he would be forced into taking some remedial occupation which he would despise.
"What sort of work are you hoping to find? If you don't mind me asking that is."
Simon gave a short sigh; she had sidestepped his question, replacing it with one of her own. Under different circumstances the young man might have entertained her for a moment or two with some elaborate work of fiction. Now though he needed to find a reliable source of income and couldn't afford to waste time answering the questions of some annoying parasite.
Returning his gaze to the inquisitive women Simon found himself toying with idea of using his abilities to give the girl an impromptu haircut. He quickly dismissed the idea though, he was the one needing information and causing any type of ruckus, no matter how small, would not aid him in his investigation. He would have to be polite and tolerate the girls curiosity, for the moment at least.
Placing a calm smile on his face the elemental gave his response, "Not at all, I am searching for work that pays, the more the better..." Simon allowed his grin to change ever so slightly into an almost undetectable smirk; no one said it had to be a particularly enlightening answer after all.
"Tell me again where might find Mr. King or this Syn character?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
Turning towards the one that had addressed him Simon raised an eyebrow at the sight that greeted him; a young women roughly his own age with a rather unique hair style and quite suggestive clothing. 'Typical female' he thought dismissively. They were all the same; they lacked the strength or the skill to do anything for themselves and so relied on their physical allure to get their way.
Keeping his face neutral despite his negative thoughts Simon tilted his head to the side and paused a moment while he considered his reply, "...I am seeking employment" he said at last, "I was told by one named Abyss that I may be able to find an employer here" at the mention of Abyss the elementals hand flicked up and displayed the Sanctuary business card the crimson mutant had given him. "Tell me, do you know where I can find Dorian King or..." he paused for a moment until he recalled the second name, "...Syn?"
Cafas: "Zephyr is the king of bad decisions, but if Sebby being weak to ghost is anything to go by, not so amazing at follow through."
The ornate golden doors of Sanctuary loomed ominously before the solitary figure of Simon Smith, yet they gave him no need to pause. Simon had witnessed the rich and eccentric before, and while the gates of this assumed haven looked like something that belonged to the Louvre it was simply another example of wealth and power going to an individuals head. They were meant to intimidate, to dominate. Simon's reactions however was a mild a chuckle.
'It seems as though I've come to the right place' he mused as he made his way inside. Surely anyone who could afford such an expensive eyesore for an entrance had no limit to their financial reserves. 'If worse comes to worse I could always take the doors themselves. They would reach a fair price I'm sure.' Immense though the gates may be, but they were nothing a hurricane couldn't carry.
Letting his eyes wander around the hallway Simon would have to admit he was somewhat surprised by the choice of decor; it was rather bland, in comparison to the doors at least. The floor was tiled with a cheap imitation marble that caused his footsteps to echo deeper into the complex, the walls for the most part were bare with either prints of famous paintings or potted plants placed at random intervals. The ceiling overhead appeared to have been made by the same craftsman who had created the gates for they the colour of burnished gold and functioned as well as any mirror. More likely than not though it was simple translucent plastic which housed a myriad of security camera's, for it was impossible to consider that actual gold would have been used in it's conception.
Proceeding down the hall at a leisurely pace Simon swiftly found himself at an unmanned reception desk with a notice simply saying "Out to Lunch". Glancing at his own watch Simon noted that it was sometime past noon. 'Most likely tried to get off their shift early' he though wearily as he withdrew the calling card he had received from Abyss and considered his next course of action, should he wait here for the receptionists return or should he make his own way in?
'Decisions, decisions...'

If someone would come to greet me it would be much appreciated, if not I'll let myself in and enter another thread.
