The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Yeah, I'm fine, I'm sort of used to not being able to sleep well, but that was the longest sleep I have had in a while so that was nice,"
Akshay beamed happily as his grogginess began to wear off. He was still, obviously, worried about Emerald but there was little that he could do other than what he was doing now. He needed to be there for her, to hopefully nurse her back to health (if she’d let him), and to do his best to make sure that she was safe. Though clearly Emerald knew how to take care of her herself, it meant a lot that she was going to actually allow him to try and be there for her. That was why he cared about her so much; even though she was strong, she knew it made him feel better to at least try to care for her sometimes.
Arm wrapped around her, he blinked as he took in a heavy breath and glanced over at the comic that she had been reading. He actually really enjoyed this issue. His friend over at the Daily Snitch was awesome and occasionally slipped him story pieces that seemed interesting. Akshay would then take small details and put them into his comics. Mainly they were background things or instances that he transformed for his own purposes; not that he was ripping off from real life. Only the keenest eyes probably would be able to pick them out.
And even then, he had changed things enough so he wasn’t liable! Besides, an artist needed to grab inspiration from somewhere.
With her cuddled up against him, he sighed a bit contentedly as he slowly tried to work through his hazy mind. When she finally got to the end of the comic, he waited for her review…
>> "I like it, I guess this shadowy figure at the end is the one that saved you main character, from these gangsters? Speaking of that, are you trying to do research on criminals with newspaper clippings from the Daily Snitch?"
He tilted his head. Research on criminals? In a way he guessed that she could definitely see it like that but it was not like he was obsessively trying to figure out the criminal mind of any real purpose. They were just stories that he occasional drew inspiration from. Nothing more than that. He wondered why she would thing such a thing.
He shook his head as he gently ran his fingers through her hair.
“Nah,” he said with a shrug. “I…have a friend from high school who works there. Like…years ago, I was struggling to come up with a storyline for one of my comic projects and he slipped me an old buried story that, I dunno, just inspired me. So occasionally he’ll send me a story he thinks will interesting me and sometimes I use it in one of my comics. By changing certain things around, first, of course.” As he said this he nodded to the newspaper clipping on his coffee table. “I just took that vigilante story and threw in some vampires. Comic nerds eat that stuff up.”

Her lips had pressed into a tightened look but Akshay did not seem to grasp that maybe, just maybe, she was irritated with him. Instead he was still marveling over just way her arms moved. Akshay had met a lot of mutants in his time, many of which were indeed physically mutated, but still he found himself in awe of this woman’s abilities. Her extra arms moved with a fluid grace that the young wordsmith was just in awe over. How was she able to do that? How did her brain compensate for extra arms? It was simply a marvel to behold.
Then, she graced him further by maneuvering a pair of her hands, one to snatch up a pen, and the other to offer to take the small poster from him. Akshay was just on cloud nine over meeting both a celebrity and an extremely interesting mutant.
>> "Fine…You know us from the movies, then."
He beamed, brightly, as he gently held out the poster for her to take into her sweet hand. When she did, she had directly a question towards him. What…how did he know her? It actually took a second for Akshay to remember his whole business for being here, even though he had already handed her his answer.
The poster. A movie poster. A Bollywood movie poster. She was in movies!
“Oh!” he finally startled himself long enough to remember. “Yes! Movies. I have seen, I have to say, all of your movies! You are simply one of the best actresses out in the Bollywood scene. They should really give you more starring roles, though. Even though it was not that much of a commercial a success I loved you in that remake they did of ‘Mahadevi’ last year. I, heh, have a director’s signed DVD.”
He beamed a little proudly. Yes, it was safe to say that Akshay was a bit of a nerd. And he bore the title proudly…

Hmmm, I do believe that is the jist of it, Emerald. After all, we cannot ask everyone to just halt their currently running threads. Then if any threads are taking place after or before the "Dreaming" of the Age of Sebastian starts, we decide if and how the character will remember it? At least that is how I think I am interpreting Gravesy's idea. I enjoy it!
I think maybe it should be helpful if there is a write up too. Maybe either post it here or in it's own thread in the Request board. Just a guide as to what has officially happened to the world so that players can check it to make sure facts are correct and such. Maybe just a base description of the world, humans in it, what happened to the Order, the X-Men, the NYPD, the gangs of roving amazons, things like that. Nothing extensive, just a few facts so that people can get the ball rolling. Just so that people have an understanding of what is going on.

One of those many hands slowly reached out and held the palm open towards him. While one beckoned him to come closer, the other was splayed open, ready to take in the offering that he had brought. With a slight, nervous smile, he reached over and very gently placed the silk scarf onto her palm. Once she had it, he took a step back and waited for her to continue.
He really didn’t notice how she felt about the scarf. Only that she had taken into one of many her hands and was setting it off to the side amongst other offerings that had been brought to her. If she were just researching a role, she was definitely playing it out to the very core. If anything, Akshay believed that she could be a goddess.
Even though that was obviously impossible. Gods among men, these days, usually turned out to be nothing more than mutants among men. Still…while there was always a possibility, Akshay was not 100% ready to believe that this woman was indeed a goddess.
He raised his dark eyes to her when he noticed her move again and ready to speak…
>> "What do you seek, Akshay Malik?"
OH! Thank god (goddess) that she knew English! He sighed a bit in relief.
Seek? He sought many things: world peace, the success of his comic series, a chance to get a limited edition lightsaber prop from the original Star Wars IV: A New Hope, but were all those realy things that he would ask for of this proclaimed goddess? No. Those were more personal wishes. Instead he would ask for something different…
“I...I would love your autograph…” he said, suddenly beaming. Reaching around to his coat pocket, he pulled out a slip of paper before he managed pull out and unfold a miniature poster, but not just any poster; a Bollywood poster…with a very familiar printed on it. “I…I’m sorry but…I just…I LOVE your work. You play your parts so…true to life that I would simply love to have your autograph…if you can…”

She really was a pretty sight to behold. But what was most attention grabbing was the fact that she had eight moving arms. This…was obviously not special effects. It seems that the rumors about her being a mutant must have been absolutely true! And no wonder she was being paraded around as a living god! Look at the way her arms moved, completely with their own functions and none of them looking like clunky robotics or anything weird like that. It was true…he was staring at a goddess in mutant’s clothing.
Akshay, ashamed to say, was just a little smitten by her. Not only was she pretty but she definitely had that mutation factor that Akshay loved to learn about. He certainly did love mutants since, not only was he one, but because they embodied everything he loved about comic books and the future of human potential.
This day was already awesome so far. It only became better when she beckoned him to come towards her.
Then…she spoke in a very, lyrical voice…
>> "We accept your offering…Your name."
And he…barely understood her. Though Akshay was of Indian heritage, his adopted parents really didn’t speak the language. That didn’t mean that the wordsmith was not interested in learning about it. He bought the Rosetta Stone program and tried, several times, to learn it. Though he did get a couple of the phrases and words down, he still had trouble understanding it, mainly because he was not constantly learning the language.
But…he was able to pick up the just of what she was saying and responded…in broken Hindi…
“Umm..I…err…” he stammered as he tried to recollect his lessons. “I…Akshay Malik. Nice…meet you…”

Akshay Malik was on cloud nine. For a while now he had been tracking the rumors. At first he couldn’t believe it. He never thought he would see this day happen, but apparently it was true, Mahadevi, THE Mahadevi, one of Bollywood’s greatest movie stars (at least in his opinion) was going to be coming to New York! Akshay squeed when he found this out. Actually, from the bottom of his toes to the tops of his hairs, squeed at the thought.
Mahadevi played in some of Bollywood’s great movies. She was known in certain circles, namely for playing supernatural creatures, usually goddesses. Rumors were that it was not all special effects, though, that she was a mutant with some rather…interesting ability. Akshay could not wait to find out.
Following the instructions for where she was going to be, Akshay found out that her first stop was supposed to be a devotional worship. People came, offered their prayers and brought offerings. It seemed a little…strange, to say the least. Did she really believe that she was a goddess or was she just playing it up for the cameras and press?
Akshay guessed that he would find out.
When the day came, Akshay showed up, dressed nicely in a black suit with a sweater vest underneath. Strolling through the building, Akshay arrived at the room that the great Mahadevi was supposed to be in but was surprised by the fact that did not seem to be a lot of people here. The few he did pass seemed to be more curious and giggling in secret than actually interested in who Mahadevi was. Then again, it was not as if Akshay Malik were here to strictly worship.
But when he turned the corner to step into the room, he was floored by how elegantly decorated it was. They did an absolute beautiful job, he remarked to himself, as he looked through the whole room…that was empty. Then, as his eyes settled on a lone, seated figure in the distance, Akshay paused. It was Mahadevi…and she looked every bit the goddess he had ever seen her be on film…

Akshay had slept rather soundly. He was not bothered at all in his slumber by the events of the night: finding Emerald in the cave, the horrible bear trap, the blood loss, and then the nerve-wracking motorcycle ride back to the nearest hospital. As terrifying as the whole thing was, Akshay actually managed to get away with undisturbed dreams. Maybe it was because he was just overly tired, or it could be because he had faith that Emerald was going to be okay, but whatever the case, the man slept like a baby at the moment.
It was so much so that when one o’clock in the morning rolled around, the young wordsmith had not felt Emerald stir, nor did he notice that she had slipped out from the sofa and wandered through his apartment. The comic fan instead continued to sleep soundly, head lolling back in silence as he snored and mumbled absolute nothings into no one’s ear.
Not until he felt the presence of someone returning to couch did he finally beginning to stir. It was obvious now that Emerald was up and moving around but it took a second for his mind to really comprehend of it. When he finally did, his thoughts began to flood with whether or not she was okay. She was his responsibility right now, especially after everything that she had gone through, so he needed to wake up!
But damn, it was so hard to right now. It just felt far too comfortable to remain in his state of sleep. Gradually, though, his need for wanting to make sure that Emerald was okay won out; the man stirred, stretched his limbs, and blinked his eyes to notice Emerald now leaning against him again, reading through one of his comics.
Not just a random comic, though, it was one that was actually of his own creation. He didn’t know if Emerald had actually taken the time to read his comics (Lord knows he gave her a few free issues) but he truly didn’t know if she would be interested in them. Maybe that was why it was so interesting to wake up, finding her sitting there, flipping through the pages of his latest issue.
He smiled a little groggily as he gently ran his fingers across her arm.
“Emerald? You feeling okay?” he finally managed in a hazy, sleep heavy voice. “Oh, heh, that’s my latest issue,” he said as he nodded to the comic in her hands. “Publisher just set me that copy so I can approve it.”

Things were too fast for Akshay to really grasp his understanding of it. He as he tried to hobble back towards Maya, suddenly Maya was running directly for him. Then the sounds of vampires everywhere were echoing in his ears and, the next thing he knew, Maya flung herself above him, causing him to tumble back to the ground with a gasp. He was tired, his neck hurt, but all this was just far too badass to really feel bad about any of it! As he stumbled back onto the ground, he looked up as Maya sprang into action!
One vampire gasped and was ashes!
Then another vampire gasped and was ashes as well!
She was fighting like a lion! Like a pretty lion in a superhero suit! Like a pretty lion in a superhero suit who carried a bow and arrows!
It was easy to say that Akshay was clearly impressed by the young woman’s finesse and skill in the heat of battle. Unfortunately it was only able to carry her so far. Before Akshay knew it, Maya had gotten surprised. A vampire caught her off guard long enough to send her bow flying and knock her effectively to the ground. Quickly it sank it’s teeth into her shoulder and caused her to shriek out in much the same way that he himself had done when he was bitten!
Yeah, apparently every movie he every saw about a vampire’s seductive kiss was a bald-faced lie!
Though he was tired, Akshay could not just leave her like that. Before he realized how stupid of an idea it was, Akshay snatched up one of the fallen arrows. It was stupid, it really was. But he was thinking too much of every vampire fighter he had ever seen! Buffy, D, Anita, Abraham Lincoln, he would make them all proud!
“AAAAIIIIYYYYYEEEEEEE!!!” he shrieked as he ran straight for the offending beast. Leaping onto the vampire’s back, Akshay screeched as he raised the arrow up high…and brought it down with all his might onto the back of the creature.
…
…but no ashes happened.
The vampire seemed undeterred and kept biting onto Maya while Akshay pulled the arrow out and drove it back into the monster. Again…no ashes.
“Damnit! Where’s the heart on this bad boy!?” he yelped.
Stab! Stab!! Stab!!!
He missed over and over and over again until finally he arched it just enough to graze the heart of the monster. It gasped, screeched and exploded into ashes that fluttered all around them in a tiny cloud. Askahy stumbled at the sudden disintegration and glanced over at Maya, breathing heavily.

Now…Akshay was not afraid of kinky things. Hell, he even dated a woman who cosplayed and believed that she was really possessed the soul of a 1,000 year old vampire (he met her online!), but this was totally different than what he thought it would be. The second he felt those teeth sink into his neck, an eruption of pain (not pleasure as he had seen in movies time and time again) shot throughout his body and nearly made the young wordsmith pass out. He struggled, he shoved back, but quickly he was losing his strength thanks to the vampire lady’s terrible bite.
But just as he felt the darkness pushing in around his head, there was a sudden sound of movement. Before he knew it, the female vampire jerked her head up, hissed and gave a throaty growl as she was forcefully removed from leaning down upon him.
Akshay could not see what was happening, considering that he was lying flat on his back with warm blood seemed down his neck and soaking his shirt. The few times he tried to lift his head, a combination of pain and queasiness caused his head to flop back down. He tried again and again but, in the end, appeased himself by simply lying there and accepting that he was not moving. God he was tired.
When the vampire screamed and he heard the sound of her poofing into ash, Akshay breathed a sigh of relief.
>> "So. Still fun?"
At first he didn’t say again. Whether he was contemplating her question or angry or terrified, he didn’t know. All he did know was that he was tired and his fingers barely twitched. But after a second or two, Akshay grunted as he reached into his pocket and removed his cell phone again, which he managed to stash as the vampire was dragging him to the roof. Gently he pushed the record button as he raised it up and began to record himself.
“T-This is Akshay Malik. And I’ve…just been bitten by a vampire…” he turned the camera to record the bleeding wound before panning back to his face. He then grinned and giggled a little. “Suck…on that…Newman Ledge…”
He still laughed for a bit until he heard the sounds of footsteps crunching on the rooftop somewhere nearby. He turned his head just enough to see several vampires, standing there, looking rather demonic and curiously at them. Akshay eyebrows raised as he glanced down to Maya.
“I think you just pissed them off,” he said as he quickly tried to scramble to his feet but collapsed from lightheadedness.
Sensing weakness, the vampires hissed and charged…

Akshay was still far too excited to care that he was just in mortal danger. Whether his brain just didn’t register that growling and pain from that vampire before meant danger, or he simply did not care, it was hard to tell. Akshay was standing in the holy grail of all nerds and he was expected to feel like his life was at the stake? That was just foolish! The young wordsmith was having the time of his life, looking over this high tech room and enjoying the splendor all around. He really wanted to know what made this place tick now. Maybe Maya would give him a behind-the-scenes preview when this was over?
But as he turned his phone around to record more of the area around him, he suddenly paused when he zoomed in on the irritated looking face of Maya. The young lady, however pretty she was, seemed downright ready to ring his neck.
Of course, Akshay had no idea why. He figured that maybe she was just camera shy and turned the camera away from her and recorded the rest of the place.
>> "What part of real damage don't you unDUCK!"
He looked up. “What didya say MayAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!”
Before Akshay knew it, his feet had said goodbye to the ground as he was hoisted up and into the air. The weightlessness was an odd feeling but the wordsmith was more worried about feeling that he was grabbed around his midsection. He couldn’t make heads or tails of what was going on, but he knew was that he was having a foreboding feeling about exactly what had grabbed him.
Thud!
Akshay felt his feet scrape the ground as suddenly he released he was on the roof, held in the arms of a rather pale looking, pretty woman in a gauzy dress. Normally he would have flirted his way out of the situation but the look in her eyes and the pointed fangs meant only one thing…She too was a vampire!
“W-W-Wow…these, heh, constructs are so real feeling. I…hehe…would be in deep sh!t if Maya was right…wouldn’t I?” he said nervously as he tried to struggle away from the woman that held such a tight grip on his midsection that he felt the air leaving his lungs.
Then, with a predatory glare, the vampire suddenly shrieked as she brought her face down and bit, deeply, into Akshay’s neck. And the wordsmith yelled in reply…

This actually really does sound pretty awesome (as I've said before!) I know that whenever I've heard about the Future Plot that happened before, I always felt bad for having missed it. I think this will be a good opportunity for the young bloods around here to take part in it! I don't have any real suggestions at the moment, but I shall think of what I can come up with. I really do like all the ideas presented so far!

Akshay. Was. On. Cloud. NINE! He had just gotten out of the premiere movie for Action Squad Zero, the movie that fans of the comic series had been waiting for, for absolute ages! It had all the heroes in it: Odin, Eye.Ron Man, Dark Spider, the Bulk, even American Soldier! The movie was a complete and utter triumph to the point that Akshay was still squeeing and uttering gibberish as he walked and talked into his cell phone to one of his co-workers, Lexi.
But while the sounds he made were odd enough, it was the manner of dress he was in that was the most surprising. See, true fans of the movie showed up wearing “Action Squad Zero” t-shirts or face make-up, but Akshay, he always had to go one above. That was why, strutting down the sidewalk in the late, late night, he was dressed up as American Soldier! Akshay only felt that it was necessary to dress like this considering that American Soldier was one of his favorite characters!
Complete with shield and mask (the entire outfit, really) Akshay strolled about as he spoke into his cellphone, praising the movie, but also blasting Lexi for not showing up as Dark Spider like she promised that she would.
“You needed to throw that ‘party’? Lexi, that is the LAMEST excuse!” he sighed and shook his head as he strolled on. “I mean, seriously, without you there, I just looked silly! Huh? Well maybe next time I WILL ask Rebecca!”
The young wordsmith sighed as he strolled on. It was late and he needed to get home. Though normally Akshay would have taken his ducati wherever he needed to go, tonight he knew he was going to be getting out late and didn’t want to risk driving in the middle of the night. Besides, he liked a good late night stroll when he could get it. And he was going to need the walk to burn off the adrenaline on his trek home anyways. Otherwise he’d be wired all night.
But as he rounded a corner, looking down at his cellphone to make the next call to nerdgasm to someone about the movie, he suddenly thudded into something…or rather, someone! With a gasp the comic fan stumbled down onto the ground with a groan, his shield clanging against the concrete sidewalk. That…was not fun.
He wheezed as he stood up, no idea what had just happened, when his eyes locked on the large individual looming ahead of him. Akshay blinked, wide-eyed as he stared at the man. Slowly he started to open his mouth to apologize but the words never got a chance to leave his mouth.
>> “You think you’re funny running in to people like that?”
“Wha?” He started to ask when suddenly a massive leg shot out towards him. Akshay gasped as he brought his shield forward. It blocked the attack but he was not prepared for the recoil it would produce. Akshay stumbled back onto a brick wall where he paused for a second to catch his brief. Afterward he admonished the man for attacking him (not the smartest of moves). “Hey, buddy! What’s your problem!?”
