The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

[OOC= sounds good to me but as discussed in the C-box I think it is probably best to fast forward to arrival at the mansion. I’ll cover the major points to get us from A to B and set Agnes up to be first in line to take the lead on whats going on at the mansion. As always feel free to let me know if there are any edits needed. /ooc]
The Trio set and ate their fill at Panda King Empire, Aedus diligently ate as long as he needed to, to ensure that Chase didn’t feel like he was taking too long and keeping them. From the Park they had traveled north past the street his apartment was on, So catching a cab the few blocks south they came to a pause at His Apartment, talking the cabbie into waiting for them to give them a lift to the School, He showed the pair his humble but cozy accommodations and gave them both the Keys as promised. His Handed Agnes hers as he assumed she would have an existing Key ring to add it to, but Chases got put on a bead chain long enough to fit on his neck or attack to his back pack as he saw fit. He ensured that Chase and Agnes got to see where he kept different stuff that they might want to make use of when he stopped by.
After the short tour they headed back to the Cab and took a much less rushed drive to Xavier’s sister school. As they got closer Aedus began to ponder if he might want to train there and stay there as well. The neighborhood was magnificent it was past the area his family had stayed in, he thought they had it made, with their cluster of manors…but this was mansion land, these homes had to be worth millions.
The pal part stung slightly but the not marrying him wasn’t insulting at all, he hadn’t meant to come off as if he were proposing. And she could taste a lie now? So, her abilities varied a bit past simply being memory involved. Interesting, He didn’t think he had lied to her. Now he would ensure that he didn’t.
“Nah, no offense taken, Marriage is a bit um…daunting. I was just trying to give you fair warning if you wanted to come, my aunts and Ma seem to think every man should have a woman to keep him in line. To be fair it seems to be true for my uncles and Da.”
Aedus shook Noel’s hand and while he was a it tempted to give it a peck, it didn’t fit. And the last tiem he did that he found out that the girl was involved in some wicked bad stuff, Her hands were really smooth, they weren’t quite lotion soft, but they felt nice too. Aedus grinned. “Ten means I can sleep in and still have time to cook.” He might need the time to sleep. He waited and watched her go down the stairs keeping an eye out for her until she disappeared around a corner.
He turned around and started to make his way home. He got to his apartment without incident no muggings on this side of things…he should have told her to call him when she was home safe…now he would have to reassure himself she made it home fine until 10.
Hmmmmm, not quite a no, but not a yes either. More importantly she was all sorts of Irish! That was a bonus and then some. Aedus sat down next to her and carefully kept his eyes off her sketch book, a deal was a deal and he wouldn’t look until she took the cocoa. A smirk lifted the corners of his mouth.
“Well, to answer both of your questions, I offer hot drinks to strangers when I can; most of them deserve Cocoa I think. You looked like you were working hard, and I have trouble not being curious about what people are doing when it concerns sketch books and Drawing pencils.” He glanced at the end of the pencil and confirmed that it was indeed one of the fancy art school pencils. “I’ll be honest; you had this adorable pout on your face the last time I came around. And so I couldn’t resist finding a way to insinuate myself into a conversation with you.” As he spoke a residual accent started taking over, it was the kind he got from being around family.
He hadn’t realized that she was suspicious of the drinks, otherwise he’d let her pick witch one she drank out of, as it was, he just sat there holding them. He watched the skaters go in circles and grinned broadly as a small girl spun in three circles, the last few times she had fell down on the third. She squealed with delight that she had completed the feat.
Aedus returned with a plate piled with food, it almost made his stomach hurt thinking about the fact that he could and probably would clear this plate and considered going back again…it was too much, but James had good taste in Chinese. Aedus sat down and began to eat again.
“So I was thinking, After this would you guys want to head to my place real quick, so one you’ll both know where it is and I can grab the keys and then check out the School.”
Aedus was almost intensely focused on insuring that Chase knew he had places to stay. The sooner he could make it real to the kid the better. He couldn’t stand the thought of the boy being homeless. He had already decided to but him some clothes as well, school stuff too. He’d have to figure out how to get him to accept it, without making it awkward. But he’d figure something out.
Aedus put his Ice skates over his shoulder, He had been getting his exercise not that he needed it, his job kept him in tiptop condition even if his appetite tried to fight it. He pulled on his running shoes. Was it his fault that he had noticed the blonde that was adorably concentrating on her sketch pad with an intensity that he found irresistible? She had good taste in clothes too; He hadn’t noticed any guy coming back and forth so she was probably alone. He didn’t come on strong enough to be a threat to a boyfriend anyhow. Though once looking at his handsome mug most boyfriends decided very differently. It was a curse. He grinned to himself and his pathetically arrogant thoughts. It helped to get his nerve up.
Today he had donned a maroon turtleneck, it was just the right weather for it and he could skip the coat, it fit across his chest and hugged his arms just right. He walked over to a small cart and got two cups of hot cocoa and made way for pretty sketchbook blonde. Part of him simply wanted to meet her; He appreciated passion and was always curious about what people were drawing in their sketchbooks. Was she any good? So part of him was curious about her work. And well part of him found her simply and delightfully attractive.
“Hi!” his greeting friendly and peppy. “I’ll trade you a cup of Cocoa for a peek at your sketch book. Sorry, I know a bit intrusive, but I come bearing liquid chocolate.”
“I do that half of the time, If I have no one to share with it feels like a waste of effort. So I eat simple stuff or go out to eat. I need to buy stock in that place. We could do cooking lessons sometime if you wanted to.” He pointed out a pizzeria on the corner, As they walked along.
Ohhh, he should have seen that coming. She sounded wistful though so he felt guilty about his bitterness towards the family. “ Yeah,…” he let out a sigh. “we have been in New York since my great great great grandparents immigrated. Everyone is here. Thanks’s giving is coming up; probably the next time I’ll be seeing them, if you want some great home cooking you could come, though they’d either try to marry you off to me, or they’d convince themselves you were my girlfriend…or who knows, you’re welcome to come but fair warning there is hijinx to be had.” It would be nice to have someone there that was neutral and they might even force themselves to treat him a bit differently in her presence. Or maybe they wouldn’t and he’d live to regret it.
“Well, I won’t stalk you, so I guess I’ll just have to agree.” He smiled and turned and locked his apartment behind him. He had good trust worthy neighbors, they looked out for each other so He wasn’t too worried about it, but it never hurt to take the extra step.
“Good! I like to cook, but I can’t seem to cook for one. I always make too much, So I am happy to have someone to share the food with. Otherwise I force myself to eat the left overs and by the time it is gone, I really want to eat something else.”
“I come from a big Irish family, so, you can do one of three things in a big family. You can stay near the kitchen and be the first in line for food, you can learn to cook and wait until the kitchen is free and make your own food, or you can starve. I chose to make my own food though I would help my mom aunts and grandma in there too, that is where the majority of the skill comes from. You tend to want to do it right if you are being threatened with a wooden spoon.”
He breathed a puff of cold fog of air out as they exited the building. It was a nice crisp chill that had him waking up a bit, he wondered if he would fall asleep or stay up with Noel on the mind.
What was a cleaning kit? He assumed it was shampoo and soap, but no she wasn’t staying the night…Oh the gun! “that makes sense.”
“You either, I really don’t mind seeing you all the way home if you wanted, it is late.” He would feel really bad if something happened to her and he didn’t walk her home. Then again he couldn’t quite say why but it felt like she could handle business if needed. Maybe it was the way she carried herself, maybe it was the way she took apart a gun with ease. Maybe it was the way she was sincerely cautious. Regardless it was a gut feeling and in spite of it he’d offer anyway.
“My pleasure, we can have waffles tomorrow.” He offered, and realized he shouldn’t have. He should have just made them and gave them to her, she’d eat them that way, this way she might feel obligated to bring something…she shouldn’t. He grabbed his coat and slipped it on. Making sure he had his wallet and keys as well. If he was jogging he might have left his wallet, but she might change her mind about the escort home.
“I prefer honesty as well, it keeps me out of trouble, but in that case I can understand it, the truth might complicate things just as much or more.”
Aedus nodded in understanding. He thought the sesame street might put her at ease, and they had been getting along just fine. He’d offer to let her keep the gun in here but he didn’t want to sound to desperate for her to stay either. “Yeah, you can come back tomorrow morning. it’s understandable, and I thought you might not want to, but I figured I’d offer anyhow. Can I walk you home? Or to the bus stop or subway or where ever?“
Aedus jotted his address down on a piece of scrap paper, He wrote his name and then his phone number, he then handed her the piece of paper and read it to her quietly.
It was almost addicting seeing the possible future, would other possibilities show up now that he had seen these possibilities. Surely seeing things would affect how and what he did. I mean he was already trying to figure out how and why he was going to give Katrina a sunflower…where would one even get one.
Aedus shook Katrina’s hand delicately as to not bruise her pretty little palms, between the paper cut and dropping the wood when he knocked he had a feeling she didn’t need any help gathering bruises. He looked for a place to sit and didn’t see one either. He shook Jude’s hand quite a bit more firmly but it wasn’t a macho hand break contest by any means.
“Hmmm, ok, well tidying up should be a priority anyhow, I’ll be back in about thirty minutes to help.” That was Odd, Jude seemed to be up for it one moment and then changed his mind the next. For Aedus’s part he looked back in Jude’s eyes and smiled lightly playing it off as if it were a normal thing to do…perhaps it was French thing to make eye contact when you shook hands…that made a certain amount of sense.
Aedus waved and took off on his bike, he would see them soon anyhow, working together on something was a pretty good way to get to know people.
Aedus Munched on tiny little corn on the cobs, you could eat them whole and while he didn’t make any comments about being a giant, he certainly thought them. Between the tiny corns and the broccoli he was having a hard time not being goofy.
“sounds like a good deal to me.” Did she say mansion with staff? Aedus nodded to Agnes and was genuinely happy to hear a place like that existed. He still couldn’t help being suspicious, it seemed like even the best intentions had strings attached. But It definitely sounded like a better environment for the young man. He was willing to do his best by him but, the fact was he would still have to work and would have to leave Chase on his own for the good chunk of the time. So this was a good thing, either way, he’d look out for the little guy. Aedus picked up and devoured an eggroll. If Agnes and Chase were trying to keep a slow pace, Aedus was a little bit oblivious to it. That is one thing he could thank his job for, his metabolism was as high as ever, and because of it he could eat quite a bit. “I’ll be right back guys.” Aedus rose and then meandered about the buffet area for a little bit collecting delicious dishes as he went.
A bone held between fingers, it was white except for where his blood stained the ten digits. A chance encounter with a model, A chance encounter with a casual killer, One and the same. He needed to find his power. He needed to show her the error of her ways.
He wasn’t typically a fan of littering, there would be a trashcan somewhere nearby, to throw away whatever you needed to, he would certainly never litter in a cemetery, it was just disrespectful, that being said, Aedus tore the box from his chest with his now free hand. He started at the smallest point from opposite armhole to neck hole. He discarded the silver spray painted box to the side, he couldn’t afford to be clumsy.
His hand was free because Katrina quite reasonably started flipping out at the fact that he flipped out, not his most calm and collected moment. A look over his shoulder had him seeing Katrina in the grasp of a zombie, The zombie bride was almost convincing enough to have him charging her but for two things, the calm panda to their right and the fact that the zombie was smiling and looked to recognize Katrina.
First things first, Aedus slammed the free side of the nun chuck down on the zombie that was crawling out of the ground face first. The nun chuck made a sickening shccccllump sound as it hammered on long decaying flesh. He whipped the weapon back in to the air. He took a running jump and landed with both feet momentarily on the arm that previously reached for Katrina, but he only momentarily stayed still His eyes focusing on Zombie bride for a moment longer reassuring himself that she was in the clear and then sprinted to close the gap between the girls and the burrowing…unburrowing? Undead. He made it to the entrance and turned right back around, putting himself between the groups.
“Zombies…coming.” He panted as he started to twist the martial arts implement around again.
“Orange Soda is powerful like that; if you want some juice or tea, they’ll switch it out for you.” Aedus said with confidence, It wouldn’t matter to the waiter whether he was bringing Chase a different drink.
“Hmmmm, I don’t think you will have to get a job.” There were laws against that so he was pretty sure a school wouldn’t force that sort of thing. “Maybe they will give you chores or a responsibility. If there is tuition I should be up to it.” He could take extra shifts if it was too much. It wasn’t hard to find extra work. Someone always needed something to go somewhere else, and in the Big apple time was Money.
Aedus wondered momentarily at how far he was willing to go for this kid that he had just met, he was momentarily stunned by how far he had come since the only thing that matter was himself and what others could do for him. Of course seeing someone save a life and then the people turned on him like a pack of wolves…well that made Aedus want to make things right in any way he could.
Aedus responded with the answers encouraging her as they went, they fell into a decent rhythm. He at the very least felt comfortable with the process, He was pretty sure it helped that they started with Sesame street, It took the edge off. He wondered momentarily if it was the vision that told him to watch the PBS show or if it would have happened authentically without it. Would he have learned about Noel naturally if He didn’t force the prediction into truth? Was it a good thing that he did? Would it have happened organically if not?
“Hmmmm, I’ve never been called patient before, So, I’ll take it. And as far as the suffering goes, would you believe me if I told you I was enjoying myself?” And He was, He was thoroughly enjoying being useful. “You must be pretty good if you’ve been getting away with it for so long.” He was honestly impressed; she would have to be skilled at what she did to be able to get away with not reading at all. As they continued through the alphabet time ticked by and Aedus was beginning to have to stifle a yawn here or there. It wasn’t that he was ready to call it a night; it was that he got up early this morning to cover someone else’s shift. He had tomorrow off however, so he didn’t have anything to get up for either.
“Do you have to work tomorrow? I don’t, but I got to say I am starting to lose some brain function. You can stay the night if you like.” He held his hands up in surrender. “No strings attached.” He let a smile touch his lips remembering how cautious she was about how this wasn’t a date. “We could pick up again in the morning, if you want to.”
