The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She was ready to guide his hand to very nice places, but he pulled back instead. And looked away.
>>”Fer **** sakes.”
"What's wrong?"
>>”I-I’m probably gonna be beating meself up over this fer the rest of me life… but… Got a confession ta make, earlier when I said I was a musician so I’m popular with the ladies, that might have been a stretch…never been with a woman before like this… I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, what do I do with me hands and is the tail gonna get in the way?"
The words all came out like a flood. He looked embarrassed about all of it. The princess blinked, it was her turn to take a few moments before it all sank in.
"You're a virgin?"
Who would have thought? He was usually all charm and swagger, and all about how he was popular with the ladies. Did he really never...?
>>”And now the angry guy is mad at me. Keeps telling me to... Mate!”
The princess jumped a little at the rumbling voice. It was attractive, in a way, just like the purring was, but Carrick was clearly not happy about it.
>>”I like ya Princess, worried I’m gonna ruin it. Eejit.”
"Ruin what?" the making out was clearly done for now, so the princess shifted, wrapping the blanket over herself so she could turn and face him. "I mean... yes, it's kind of funny. I thought you've done a lot of this... being an entertainer and all" she smirked, poking his tail, trying to make him look at her. "But it's not like anyone does sex well right at the first time. Don't you people teach new partners what to do...? You wouldn't know, would you." she sighed. "Well, I can teach you. And you can teach me."
>>”I don’t even know how my powers work. Ya think I know all of yers?”
The princess pouted again. She didn't explain to many people about how she made gemstones, but she'd thought he would have put two and two together now. Apparently not. Oh well, at least she would get to explain in a fun way if he didn't.
>>”Depends… not gonna hock a loogie are ya? Cause if ya are… just tell me?”
"I don't even know what that means" she stated. It didn't sound very elegant. Carrick seemed to be confused, and then something slowly was beginning to dawn on him. Amethyst chucked at the look on his face.
>>”Wait… what?”
"Oh, stop blushing. It's okay" she smiled, reaching for his hand. It was easier to show than tell.
Carrick looked a little distracted, in a good way. The conversation was nice, but she had the feeling it was a distraction from what they had been up to in the past few minutes. She did give him a hint about diamonds. She'd done the same with concubines before, but it seemed lie Carrick would need more... facts.
>>”Oh? Toenail clippings?”
"That's not even a liquid" she pouted. Toenails, indeed.
>>”Looks way better on you than it did in me back.”
"I know, right?" she smiled, running her fingers absent-mindedly over the necklace. "Well, you are in luck. I can tell you how I make diamonds. Or I can do one better and show you." she added with a suggestive look.
>>"Oh yeah, Why wouldn’t I be? Just a bit nervous.”
Nervous. About what? The princess shifted as he moved his wing and ultimately sat up, trying to see what he'd landed on. Rolling around in jewelry was a nice idea in theory, but in practice it was rarely ever comfortable.
>>”I think something expensive broke me fall.”
The necklace had a large diamond surrounded by smaller gemstones. It was one she rarely wore, because it was not a part of a set, but it was lovely in its own way.
>>”Sooo… ya make these?”
"The diamond, or the necklace?" she chuckled, taking the necklace from his hand and wrapping it around her neck. It glimmered in the light. "I do make diamonds. Not many people know that."
The look on Carrick's face was very satisfying. Amethyst knew she was attractive, but she also knew that most non-Atlantean people were kind of weird about bodies in general. She liked being without constraining clothes. Carrick, on the other hand, looked like he was about to pass out.
>>”W-what fer?”
She blinked, and now felt just as confused. Did he not... get what she was asking? He enjoyed making out just fine. Making out on a comfortable bed was the next logical step. Then, he managed to take care of it all on his own as he tripped, and ended up flopping on top of the pillows. The princess laughed, sitting down next to him, sweeping some jewels out of the way.
"Are you alright? You seem a little... out of sorts."
She managed to work the shirt free and steer them to the bed before Carrick pulled back to look at her. Amethyst smiled. His lips had sapphire dust on them and so did hers. She wiped it off, scarring blue sparks between them. He was still purring, and the way he looked at her bade her want to purr too.
>>”Don’t like the shirt anyways. Makes it easier to move while making out. Smart!”
He made some weird gesture with his hands. He still felt a little off, as if he was nervous. About what? He had been meaning to kiss her, back at the park, and now he got to, and it felt nice. Amethyst smiled at him. He was right. Clothes made everything too difficult. She reached up, slipping the straps of her dress of her shoulders.
Buttons on clothes were frustrating. Amethyst did not much care for them. Good thing she had the kissing to occupy her while her fingers worked on Carrick's shirt. His hands found their way to her back and he pulled her closer, losing his balance for a moment in the process. His wing opened and knocked some box over on her desk. The princess chuckled. Oh, the wings were going to be fun.
Once she'd worked the shirt open, her hands slid under it, touching skin. She stepped back and pulled him with her, trying to move both of them away from the window. And, ideally, towards the bed.
"One was enough for today." she chuckled. Other dates could be left for other times. How long did dating count, anyway? Once they already moved on to making out?...
She liked the small signs. The purring, his eyes going darker, his tail flicking in excitement. The small things were genuine.
>>”Sorry, I’ll be sure to do that in the future. Wasn’t sure if ya did or not ‘nd got into me head a bit... Happens a lot. Can I kiss ya again?”
"Sure" she smiled, and rose to her tiptoes again. This time, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders as they kissed. Carrick was gentle, especially for someone carrying to beasts inside him, and the purring was kind of intoxicating. Amethyst kissed him, making soft, satisfied sounds, and her hands eventually moved from his shoulders to the buttons of his shirt.
They kissed, and Carrick purred. Amethyst could feel the sound in his chest, and she smiled into the kiss. Carrick was not hard to read. And he was nice to kiss. She chuckled as he finally pulled away, all flushed.
>>”So I didn’t imagine it then. That’s what I was wondering… This mean ya want to go on another date?”
"Right now?" she quirked an eyebrow at him, and reached up to brush some of the sapphire dust from his lips. "You could have just asked to kiss me, you know."
It was kind of endearing, the purring and the look he was giving him. She placed a hand on his chest and chuckled. Easy to read, indeed.
What was he trying to tell her? That he did not want to go on a date with her again? Or that somehow it had been her fault that he got picked up by the agents? Amethyst tried to guess, but he was not making it easy. She looked at him with a confused expression as he stepped closer.
>>”Ehmmmm… P-Princess, yer frustrating.”
He kissed her.
Oh.
Amethyst liked kissing. It was a fun thing to do. But Carrick kissing her, that took her by surprise. Was this was all the fuss was...
... it made sense.
The princess leaned into the kiss, returning it freely as she rose to her tiptoes to match his height. Hopefully, that would give him a clue about leaving the awkwardness behind.
"I'm not" the princess shot back. What was his problem? Did he somehow blame her for something?
>>”Sorry… more like something didn’t happen.”
The princess tilted her head, trying to catch his gaze again. Now everything was awkward and she had no idea why.
>>”Not sure if I imagined it or not, and I’m not sure I want any more time to pass before I know, because heck awkward now. Be awkward again and if I want ta ask ya out again I got to know if it was gonna happen or not. Ya know?”
Amethyst blinked, staring at him for a moment as she sifted through the words, and came up with... nothing, really.
"Um... I have not the faintest idea what you are trying to say."
The girl moved closer, sniffing her tea. Amethyst was not sure what the point was supposed to be; it was the same tea everyone else seemed to be drinking in the cold season.
>>"Well it is tea, but it is all Americanized. Westerners.."
The princess blinked, tilting her head. She was still bad at guessing where people came from.
>>"You have a hot plate in your room or something. I can make you some tea and a bit of food that will clear that cold right up. Medicine isn't supposed to taste great."
"What's a hot plate?..." she ventured. It sounded like something useful. She'd have to remember that. "Where are you from, then? Are you some kind of a healer?"
Carrick got his jacket and backpack, and he'd made sure she was safe. Honestly, that was all they could talk about before things felt awkward again.
>>”Can’t imagine they would be, hard n’ sharp right? Nothing like the princess ‘nd the pea... So they reorganized? How often ya do that?”
"Sometimes." she shrugged. She knew he lied shiny things, which was probably why he kept glancing at the bed. Did his griffin form want to roll around in the jewels? The though made her chuckle.
>>”****… Bout tonight… I eh… had good time with ya. Other than the armed escort out of there… fer someone that’s never been on a date ya did a good job.”
"Are you alright?" Amethyst stepped closer, trying to catch his gaze. He looked nervous. Did something happens when he got arrested? Was he not telling her something about what was going on? "You're acting strange. Did something happen?"
Neither of them really looked at the other. It was awkward. Why was it awkward? She made it back just fine, and he had been released, all was well, minus the light show that they both missed in the end.
>>”Yeah, was a bit worried. Yer a Princess after all, not really familiar with the city. No gentleman to help ya get back to the mansion safely. I mean had to make sure me jacket and backpack made it back unharmed.”
The princess nodded towards her desk; his jacket was draped over the back of a chair, and the backpack was on on it. She'd changed her dress since she'd come home and took off the tiara, but otherwise, not much changed since they left.
>>”That and I knew you’d be worried bout me. I’m fine and I didn’t want ya yelling at me tomorrow when ya found out I made it back here... You normally sleep on them?”
"No" she huffed "I was just... reorganizing them" she finished sheepishly. Playing with priceless jewels was a little too stereotypically royal, even for her. "They would not be very comfortable to sleep on."
"You not being arrested in the first place?" the princess suggested, allowing him to climb in the window. The teachers probably would not have been happy about that, but she didn't much care.
>>”You should really keep yer windows shut never know who try to climb in.”
"You should really start using these things called doors." the princess folded her arms and gave him a look. He stopped just inside the window and looked around; he suddenly seemed awkward again.
>>”They let me go after I smoothed thing’s over and you didn’t want me to talk at all.”
So, they let him go. That was good. It meant no black car was about to come knocking again in the middle of the night. Amethyst relaxed a bit.
>>”Whatcha doing up so late anyways? Worried ‘bout me?”
"Couldn't sleep" she shrugged, and now it was her turn to look away. The bed still had her jewels scattered all over it. It was the kinda decadent look, with pillows and gemstones, that most people would expect from an Atlantean princess' bed. She turned his words back at him. "What are you doing here anyways? Came to see I got home alright?"
