The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Standing upright at the edge of the roof he grinned and walked up towards her and sat back down. His face beat red from embarrassment though her reaction did give him a big grin. ”Glad ya liked it. Been working on it a bit. Any idea how hard it is to rhyme anything with ‘sparkle’?” the shifter said rest the guitar next to him. ”Darkle isn’t a word.” he chuckled nervously trying to play off his embarrassment.
”Yep, that song was all me. Granted I was listening to a few songs that helped get the cords ta flow. The words came after. Might be the first song I wrote, finished and performed before.” he smirked trying hard not to make another joke but couldn’t resist. ”Yer me first for a lot of things it seems.” he opened his wing and wrapped it around her starting to purr again.
”First couple times I tried to play it like one of yer minstrels would but it didn’t flow the way I wanted it to. I’m sure ya had enough songs written fer ya back home.” he said shrugging, ”Thought it be better if I did it my way.” he said looking over to her and smiling ”Give ya some ‘proper care’ so ta speak.” he looked down to the gift he got her. ”They charged per letter.” this time he chuckled.
His tail flicked mischievously more. Would the Mom’s get mad if he robbed a bank? He didn’t want the answer for it. Carrick already knew what they were going to say. Along the lines with ‘Carrick, you’re the best but don’t rob a bank’. They were right. He was the best but he didn’t like upsetting the pair. He did owe them quite a bit. ”Oh?” he wanted more information at this point though Zek could had said anything if it meant getting him out of class. Also he was pretty sure if someone wasn’t there to look out for him Zek might end up getting himself killed.
”Allegedly.” Carrick nodded, he had heard of him and had heard of his potential dealings. His music, (the only reason Carrick knew him) was littered with the phrase ‘If I done it’ meaning he was smart enough not to implicate himself in his music. The Man was something of an legend in Carrick’s book. The way he kept avoiding drug and trafficking charges.
”My beats are slow, and my track is wack, I don’t think I can beat him with a rap attack.” the shifter rhymed knowing he’d never have to worry about an actual rap battle. It sounded like Zek just needed to steal something back from him and more than likely his wings made him essential for entering and leaving and making sure Zek didn’t get killed.
Carrick already said he was in, ”Bring snacks and I’ll bring a change of clothes.” he said giving the pocket dimension user a thumbs up.
It was for one of his shifted forms, his preferred one. ”Screw him, he can borrow it from me. I like shiny toys!” he said tossing the thing up into the air catching it. He felt a since of ger from the back of his mind, jealousy. He smirked and rolled it into his hand admiring the jewels wondering if all of them were made from her. Did that make it better?
Silk. Made from worms? Carrick looked down at the shirt and rubbed his fingers on it. He felt fancy. This normally wasn’t his style but he was okay upgrading. Especially if the Princess liked it. The shifter wondered if he pulled it off as well the people she knew back home but wasn’t sure he wanted an answer.
”D fer difficult.” he smirked. Thinking the whole thing was pretty clever. ”Cause yer difficult... were difficult?” he asked wondering if that was correct tense. ”Still like ya anyways.” he flashed his teeth in a smile still thinking it was better than just a “C” pendent or something else on it he knew he could always change it if she didn’t find it as funny but then she’d be living up to the title. Either way it would give him a smirk.
”Aye, a song.” he said walking over to his guitar and opening up the case. ”Got a girlfriend on valentines day. What kind of musician would I be if I can’t serenade ya on one of the most romantic holidays?” he through the guitar strap over his shoulder and wing feeling the silk on his shoulder. It was... comfortable. Yeah, he liked silk now. This was the first time he had ever worn it other than when he wore a tie.
Tuning the guitar he slowly started plucking the cords till he was satisfied with the sounds. He walked in front of her so he stood lower on the pitch of the roof. So it was easier to see her and less work for her to watch. ”I call this one Sparkle n’ Shine. Yer the first one to hear it." he said grinning and starting a shade of red hitting his face.
The song was about attraction, someone finding something that was beautiful and out reach, no matter what they did, until one day they found out what they were looking for all along was right in front of them. That was Carrick, heartbroken. Thinking he had found love only to get crushed, then realizing what he had wasn’t what he thought it was and finding something better. Something more intense. She was more intense.
Carrick was nervous, mainly because he never really played a song he wrote before not to other people at least. His voice got softer as he plucked into the last refrain. ”and that’s why I say, I had the sparkle, but ya made me shine.” he played for another second and then decided to end it with a little flourish of a turn but he only managed to trip and stagger down the roof a bit before he caught himself from falling off the roof entirely. Classic Carrick.
”Planning a bank robbery and need to walk through walls?” his tail flicked hopefully. ”Not that I thought about it.... she’d make it easy though.” he said imagining himself roll around in a pile of money. Instead he had to settle for gemstones that were the by product of his girlfriend. Equally cool in his opinion.
Carrick shrugged debating if he should make another sandwich, ”Nothing planned. Don’t have any gigs tonight. Not yet at least.” technically he should have been in class now, he could always catch up later though. Not like he was actually gonna go at this point. He would have just fallen asleep or stared out the window the whole time.
”You mean steal something back?” Carrick asked practically purring at the thought of thievery. His smile got wider and his tail flicked, ”Me? Steal? Never, however if I was gonna I’d want to know who it was from and what I’m taking back.” he grinned and put his hands behind his head, ”Someone steal something from ya and ya didn’t gold ball them right away?” he asked surprised.
He didn’t use the catch phrase yet when someone asked him to be part of a crew it wasn’t an official team up till the words were spoken, ”Zek, you sonofa***** I’m in!” he already had the best heist music planning in his head.
”L- is fer the way you look at me. O- is fer the only one I see, V- is very very.” he flipped his fried bologna in the skillet and turned just in time to catch it again. He had to double check if that was something he could replicate. It was pretty impressive. ”Extra ordinary, E is even more than any one can adore.” he tried it again and it it got stuck on the ceiling. His stomach growled then he growled and flapped upwards pulling the processed meat from the ceiling.
Giving it a once over and deeming it clean enough he put it on bread and started chowing down. Pointed ears perked over his humming with his mouth full he couldn’t sing so the next best thing was to fill the kitchen with noise. Everyone else was in class already. He’d was planning on going but then he heard her name again.
Recognizing the voice almost instantly Carrick’s tail flicked mischievously. It was a Zek. Looking for a Juniper. Why was Juniper here? Should he have known- Zek passed by the kitchen. Carrick was already hiding in wait for him to pass before he slowly tip toed behind him silently waiting for the right time to pounce.
Another step forward was followed by two giant strides and a muffled ”Zeeky!” Carrick leapt forward hands outstretched then before fully committing to the pounce opened his wings and stopped himself before he made full contact. It was clear Zek never would survive in the wild without him. Carrick was a great friend.
Offering half of his sandwich, ”Whatcha looking fer Juniper round here?” he asked curiously. ”Another book club meeting?” his tail flicked behind him curiously.
”Not saying she is then.” he grinned and corrected himself. ”Girlwhoyou’dbeokaywithasagirlfriend.” he said quickly. ”Keep yer secrets then, got enough of my own.” he said knowing it was a small school. He’d find out eventually. Then he could mess with Rowan more.
”Hard to say fer sure though when you can’t control ‘em yerself right?” Carrick said offering a sympathetic pat on the back. ”Been there, didn’t hurt Lizzy but gave her enough of a scare to leave.” he didn't’ elaborate. His heart broke then. Thankfully that was years ago. At least that was what he told himself. He didn’t smile, ”Hard to forget....” he sighed loudly still trying to forget the look on her face. It still haunted his dreams.
Carrick kept his mouth shut to listen to Rowan explain who he used to be. Fear, anger. violence. His eyes shifted to Rowan and focused on the kid if only for a second. ”Yeah, never cared much for it. Meself. Saw it enough in me father, brother. Everyone I hated. I don’t like bullies.” he said smirking, ”Might be hard ta believe but wings and a tail makes me an easier target.” he flashed his teeth, ”used to at least.” he got bigger and stronger. So did his rage.
”That’s good though. Don’t need any bullies ‘ere.” Carrick said smirking. ”No worries, didn’t sound lame. Talking helps, doesn’t matter who listens.” he gave the younger shifter a thumbs up before stopping abruptly. ”Almost missed it.” the winged mutant said knocking several times on the door in a pattern. The door opened slightly and Carrick grabbed the bag of steak from Rowan.
”Afternoon stretchy,” Carrick said with a smirk. His tail flicked behind him showing his dislike for the mutant behind the door. “Don’t call me that.” ”Come up with a better name then.” Carrick quipped back waving the bag in front of him. A tentacle shot out from the door and wrapped around the bag. Carrick fought the pull, ”It’s here.” The tentacle vanished behind the door for a second then returned with a few smaller gems and another twenty dollars.
Once Carrick counted the gems in his hand he released the bag of meat and tipped his imaginary hat. ”The price will double next time. Been running into the man in Blue quite a bit in the hallways.” Carrick lied as the door shut quickly. ”See ya next week.” Carrick said turning and offering up two small rubies to Rowan. ”Fer yer silence.” he smirked not mentioning they were a product of his girlfriend. Then he started to walk again this time without any particular place to go.
”So.. what are ya gonna do about this girl yer swooning over?” he asked flashing his fangs.
Carrick had seen that look before. It was a look his mother used to give him when she was letting him know the ice was about to break. His smirk turned to a smile making sure not to make eye contact with the devil. ”Got the mother thing down.” he said into his coffee.
His face turned a shade he hid it by taking another ‘slurp’ of coffee. Consensual was the only thing he was sure about in the bedroom. The Princess seemed pretty good at giving directions, in fact he was pretty sure she just like bossing him around. ”Working on it....” the first time was probably the loudest. After that he was doing his best not to turn the Princess deaf. How would he serenade her if she could hear.
”I mean, ya could have asked and I could have told ya. Lizzy tell ya or was it Serena? Both were there the first time I went all,” he puffed up his feathers and made it look like he was about to have a seizure but stopped himself in fear of losing the coffee ”Beast mode.” he still wasn’t sure if that was the name for it. Headache seemed more accurate.
”Young adult” he corrected feeling the difference was important, he would no longer be tried as a minor if he did get into anymore trouble thankfully the Mom’s got it covered... at least for now. ”Fine.” he said huffing and slamming his coffee.
”Should I just strip n’ shift or ya have something else in mind? Cause I usually charge fer a show.” his tail flicked as he set the cup down already feeling the caffeine.
Carrick turned his head slightly to see Rowan’s reaction and his face turn red. ”Ya sure ‘bout that? Yer face says other wise, ya care about her and she’s a girl... girlfriend.” the shifter smirked and played it off with a wave of the hand. ”Nothing to be embarrassed about. Girlfriend’s are great!” he might have been biased.
”You might not have a say in it. If yer beasty’s anything like mine.” the shifter said shrugging. ”I can fight him off sure but he shows sooner or later.” he said sighing, ”Like the brother ya never wanted. Just one day show’s up breaks all yer toys gets ya in trouble then vanishes without a trace.” that analogy worked well for both his half brother and his beast form.
When they reached the top of the stairs there was another student waiting at the top for them. A large one, Carrick nodded his head and waited for Rowan to catch up to him and then he held up a hand to stop him. ”Be needing....” he stopped and looked to the portly student then grabbed the frozen bacon from Rowan and then handed it off to the student. He responded by handing Carrick a twenty and a ruby.
Carrick pocketed both then smirked, ”See ya next week. Might need an extra fiver we ran into the man with the patch.” he whistled and looked back to Rowan, ”He looked pissed didn’t he?” hoping Rowan played along before hearing a loud sigh from the student, “It’s worth it. Better not be trying to squeeze me for more.” he said his large presence looming over the pair. ”Wouldn’t dream of it mate! Got wings, I’m an angel!” he smirked and waved Rowan forward once again.
”Sounds like yer more along than I was. I’m still fighting to get him to hand the reigns over. But then again, I don’t let him drive when I’m in the driver’s seat.” Carrick said rounding to the boys hall and turning down it. ”At first I only dreamed about what I-he did when in control. Most of the time it wasn’t anything worth remember. The fear though, seeing people afraid of him. It’s like he wants me to remember.” the shifter said his hands going back to behind his head.
”In fact I only got to be in control recently. See we came to an agreement, he and I. We both wanted to save me girl and well that was all we needed. He’s been pretty quite since then. Not silent like I prefer from him but the ‘screaming’ to fight or **** isn’t there. Almost peaceful.” he said. ”Almost.”
”So no take backs eh?” Carrick asked grinning and slowing down to put an arm around Rowan, ”She was gonna find out anyways, it’s better this way. Didn’t tell me last girlfriend, in fact I didn’t even know about ‘em. We were out one day and someone hit me with something cause of the wings and a tail and next thing I know...” he removed his arm and stepped forward. ”She ghosted me faster than you can say, ‘Hold up.’ Jokes on her though, she got older and stuck teaching here and well... I’m still me so who got the last laugh!?” Carrick said forcing a laugh.
”Ya try introducing her to the dogs round here? Get her used to the smaller ones so the bigger one doesn’t seem so scary?” he asked. ”Yer girlfriend’s name. What is it?” he asked wondering who she was maybe he could offer some more help in the love department.
Even with her being a giant and him having a bird’s eye view it took the shifter a few minutes to find her. Took the two guys even less time though seeing as they were already confronting her. One of them had a knife. Carrick’s bird like eyes caught the reflection and that was what cemented who everyone was for him. That and her being a freaking giant!
He wasn’t a hero. He had to keep telling himself while he circled overhead. Why was he here? Was it because she clearly had money and he was looking for a reward? No, that wasn’t it. He already had a handful. Was it because he was supposed to be on the lookout for Super? Nah, that defiantly wasn’t it. ‘Fight!’ Carrick watched the knife wave around on the sidewalk where his targets were. Middle of broad daylight... maybe it was they were looking for easy marks on his table. That had to be it. That or he wanted to prove the giant’s friend wrong. This was far from a bad area.
One of the guys moved towards her, both of which would have been a struggle to lift at least awkward as heck to hold and try to fly. He sighed and swooped down not sure how he would handle the situation. ”Darling, ya forgot yer change.” he decided a verbal route. Several people would be proud of him right now. All of which weren’t currently in his head, ‘Fight!’ he ignored the ‘wise’ council from his shifted form.
He eyed the knife and flashed his teeth, ”Boys, ya wouldn’t be doing what I think yer doing are ya?” his tail flicked like he was about to toy with his prey. ”I know it’s been a few years since I’ve done some table work but I thought there was an understanding when someone loses money ya leave ‘em be?”
“It has been a few years.” the one in the back chimed, “We hardly recognize you anymore Carrie.” the shifter grinned some more. ”I kicked yer asses when I was a third yer size. I went up a weight class.” he said folding his arms flapping slightly overhead between the blonde and the thug. ”You alright love?” he asked not taking his eyes off of the potential prey. A low growl in his throat started.
The shifter chuckled and nodded his head finishing his own slice. ”I would never assume.” he lied. It seemed that’s where they usually ended up but he was going to be the last person to complain about that he was enjoying the experiences way too much.
”I had a feeling, and ya are.” he said brushing some dust off of his shoulder trying to downplay his smirk. ”Otherwise I’d be alone on the room eating this pizza. Wondering what I’m looking at.” he said shifting his gaze from the sky to her.
Brushing off his hands and clearing his throat his eyes lit up reaching for the bag. ”Was told it was more fer the lady but I’ll never turn down gifts. I like stuff.” he grinned kissing her quickly on the cheek before digging into the bag.
His purring stopped when he saw the ball clothing. He wasn’t the type to get excited by clothing usually but the shiny caught his attention at the bottom of the bag before he pulled out the article of clothing. ”What’s this?” he asked as he started to chuckle holding the ball in his hand. It was a bright yellow ball. The color almost gold. That wasn’t what caught his eyes, the twinkling of the jewels did. He smirked. ”This is.... awesome.” he said eyeing the gems around the surface of the ball. His purring got louder again.
He turned the ball over a few more times then had to remind himself that there was something else in the bag. Clothing. Carrick pulled it out of the bag and held it up. ”A dress?” he asked looking at the thing and turning it over. It was a long shirt with... wing holes! ”Already tailored fer me too!” he said standing up.
It might have been a date night but any chance he had to remove part of his monkey suit he was willing. He tossed his jacket next to her followed by his shirt. His skin practically glowed in the moonlight. ”It flows!” he said slipping into his new shirt.”[/color] he opened his wings and waved them around for a moment glad for the freedom. It was even easier to move in than his normal garb.
”Defiantly killed it at the gift giving. Should have gone first. Hard ta follow up.” he said reaching into his pocket and pulling out a little necklace with a single stainless steel pendent on it. The pendent was a shape of a circle and had the letter ‘D’ on it for ‘difficult’. It was polished enough to reflect the moon light. Crouching down he offered it to her hoping she would appreciate the joke he was going for.
”Not as shiny as the ball but.... I thought I should get you somthin tangible. Other gift is the gift of song.” he said in a sheepish grin
”So don’t?” Carrick asked his whole lower half dancing now to the song in his head. It seemed pretty simple to him. He understood why Rowan didn’t want to do that but the school was a better place to let the beasts out than anywhere else. They had a danger room. If only he could get back in there unsupervised. ”Her. Ya got yerself a girlfriend? Huh?” he said chuckling until he found the package in the back of the freezer.
”Boom!” he laughed and pulled a large bag of frozen bacon out. He tossed it to Rowan next then shut the door to the freezer brushing the dust from his hands. ”Lying’s a great defense mechanism. Human one.” Carrick said smirking to Rowan then waving him on to follow again. The Irishman didn’t make an attempt to take the meat from the younger student.
”Easy ta lie. I happen to be great at it.” he boasted. ”Hard ta explain to yer little miss after a shift though innit? Sorry I ate someone in front of ya. Hopefully ya can look past it and we can still be going out.” he laughed, ”Been there. Didn’t work. Hearts were broken. Not mine.” he lied. Rowan didn’t need to know about that. No one did. He was trying still to forget the feeling of loneliness.
Walking into the hallway Carrick threw his hands up behind his head and left them there. ”Then again, if ya scare her off telling her now ya won’t invest too much time. Maybe she doesn’t even like dogs?” he said looking over his shoulder smirking to Rowan.
”Nah, mate. Part cat. I got a good nose it’s faint. Wouldn’t even have thought about it but Beasty is a bit testy round ya.” he said tapping his nose. ”If ya liked scaring people I’d call ya dad.” the shifter said shrugging.
”I don’t like to either. Scaring people. Hurting though... sometimes hedecides to take the riegns. I forget I’m the one who calls the shots. Like a adrenaline high but like... more intense. More I give in to it the more likely,” he took an ominous tone, ”He takes control!” he chuckled slightly.
” I’m up to ten I know about. Waking up naked is usually the tell.” he said sighing soberly, ”You remember what happens when ya shift or does it come in fragments?” he asked getting closer to the stairs.
Ice cube and.... ”Lizzy?” Carrick asked stopping short and holding out his arm to stop the kid. What did she say? How did she say it? He suddenly felt angry at himself for wondering. He sighed and then waved them forward again, ”Know what doesn’t matter Who sent ya. Just that they did. Meaning they both know they aren’t suited to help ya.” there was a little extra pep in his step. ”Whose teaching now?” he scoffed.
Carrick also had the same worries but was better with denial that Rowan it seemed. In fact according to winged shifter there was only an issue when his other form decided to step in. Which wasn’t often. ‘Fight’ he ignored the voice again when he looked to Rowan. The kid was still stammering too. Carrick only did that when he was around the Princess or when he was acting meek. Why would he be acting though?
”Does it? Can’t remember not being one now. Sad.” he asked walking into the mansion still strutting and leaving the door open behind him. It’s been years since Carrick knew he was a mutant. It was kind of hard to forget with the constant reminder of wings and a tail. His tail flicked behind him to emphasize his thoughts.
”and ya tried not doing it?” he smirked knowing if Rowan was anything like him he was tired of trying. An older kid walked by Carrick high fived him and pocketed something after the high five. It was shiny and hard to miss but Carrick treated it like it was nothing. ”I’ll leave ‘em in the usual space.” he called back to the other student before turning his attention back to Rowan who was the one with all the questions.
”Tell ‘em.” he said shrugging as if that was the end of it before elaborating. ”They know about it they know they need to be careful with ya. But ya can’t always rely on everyone. They can’t shift so they don’t know.” he said walking into the kitchen.
”How could they? One minute yer talking to someone and boom!” he snapped his finger, ”Yer getting darted in central park and caged like an animal. Wake up naked wondering what the hell happened and did I ruin the date.” that happened. ”I didn’t.” he flashed a toothy grin showing off his fangs like Rowan was. It wasn’t a threat. Carrick just couldn’t turn them back.
Opening the door Carrick removed a bag of meat that read, “Sam’s don’t touch it, Carrick.” mismatched colored eyes looked at the label and then he tossed the bag of meat to Rowan. ”Hold that fer me will ya?” he asked as he rummaged for something else but couldn’t find it. A loud sigh followed by a chuckle from his Frosty comment, ”Cool. Heh. Good one.” he looked into the freezer next and buried his face in it his tail flicking behind him as he searched.
”Aye, ya got a beasty in ya. Just like I do. They don’t. They don’t know.” he said before starting to hum some lyrics to a song he had stuck in his head. ”Yer a dog?” he asked curiously poking his head out from the freezer and sniffing the air. ”Smells like it at least. Other guy wants ta fight you.” his head disappeared again while he searched for the next ingredient.
”Won’t stop ya, sure someone will do it by the end of the night.” he did a little turn adlibbing his steps then went back into it. ”If ya feel like hitting someone I can attest he had a punchable face.” the shifter gave a thumbs up before stopping the dance moves.
”Sides, I can always grab another ‘Roadie’” he used the air quotes and sauntered over to the bottle that he was sipping from. ”Can’t go stag to a party like that.” he unscrewed the top and took a little sip and put the top back on.
”I mean, I could sneak in the back door, but I’d get kicked out fer sure at that point, no punching and no freebies.” he said picking up the top hat and made a show of dusting it off. There was a cane there. He was sure of it.
”Might get ta punch someone then, who knows.” he grinned. More than likely he’d get punched in the face at that point. He twirled the hat on his finger. ”Got something more fun ta do?” he asked grinning curiously tossing the hat up into the air so he could attempt to catch it on his head.
‘Right back at ya.’ he thought to himself his tail flicking with irritation. He was used to it and didn’t really care but it was hard to keep smiling. ‘I’m dating royalty.’ he thought. There. It was easier to keep smiling.
”Well, that’s uncalled fer! They might look it but these guys aren’t that bad.” he turned and smirked to a few of the people huddled around the table. ”Shame, too. Was worried I was gonna lose everything to her.” he looked back down at the extra hundreds on the table. Then back up to Leah.
The shifter’s eyebrow raised, ”Practice makes perfect.” he smirked and folded his arms. ”If yer sure love, would have gladly shared the spotlight with ya. I’m sure ya draw a crowd where ever ya go.” he gave a little mock bow flourishing his hand and swiping the money in a well practiced motion. It was downplayed by the wings opening and flapping once. A few of the guys around the table had to move out of the way. Carrick was a showman after all.
After she left Carrick went back to the game, ”Tall lady.” he looked to everyone around the table, ”Well ya saw the goods, think ya can win it from me?” he said patting his pocket where the money wasn’t located. Some of the people around the table were questionable. Nefarious even.
Carrick started to shuffle cards trying his best to ignore the look and hand motions two of the table watchers gave each other. The nodded after the tall blonde and took off after her. It wasn’t his problem. Worry about that was something someone else worried about not him.
The pocket that held his Super ID felt heavy. He was supposed to do good. Carrick looked back down to the cards and started to shuffle. She was rich. Rich and nice. He stopped sighed loudly and yelled, ”Fer **** sakes.” he motioned for the kid across the street to take back his spot behind the table.
Opening his wings and a flap he was airborne. She was a giant, she should be easy to track down right? ‘Mate!’ ”No. Fight.” ‘Fight!’ his pupils turned to slits.
”Ooooh?” he asked looking to her wondering what kind of stories she grew up with. ”Any good ones?” he asked imagining any story with a city underwater as a terrifying one.
The shifter studied the foil of the pizza and snagged one for himself trying not to study the toppings. They just put anything on a pizza now. With a mouth full, ”I ‘ave my moments.” his tail flicked towards her then curled around where she was sitting.
Kicking a leg out he shrugged, ”Don’t know, first time I had a girlfriend like this.” he said without thinking. They hadn’t had defined titles other than he wasn’t a pet. ”Easier when yer just going along fer the ride. Next time you can plan the date and I’ll go along fer a ride.” he smirked before looking up to the sky.
”Not gonna lie, was sweating fer a small moment there.” he pinched his fingers together before clearing his throat and did his impression of himself. ”Wonder where she would like to go? Ask her? Nah, ruin the surprise. Have a few back up plans instead incase one of ‘em don’t work out? Yeah, sounds better!” he took another bite of the food. ”Ya make Diamonds, stars aren’t nearly as cool shiny.” he smirked.
”Glad ya like ‘em though.” he said with a sigh of relief.
