The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: Not sure if Fade caught him or not. So I'm going with she did.)
Ted tried to ignore the girls gonversation as best he could. However, most of it didn't seem to be too personal. Thus he didn't mind listening in with what they were saying. Fred? If she's calling me Fred then why did she put me in a dress? Ted wondered quietly before he was rather uncerimoniously tossed to the red head. I can fly!... Or not. He thought as he was caught by the other girl. Teddy was glad that he'd been caught, because falling, even when you're full of stuffing doesn't mean it doesn't still hurt. The young boy couldn't really see what the first girl was doing digging through her bag; however, he did eventualy find out what it was when she showed it to the other girl.
The little bear could hear the music playing from the box and thought it sounded really nice. He hadn't heard it before so he wasn't sure what it was; however, Ted did think that it was nice. The red head asked his opinion and without thinking Ted looked down at the music box that was playing. As soon as he'd realized what he'd done Teddy snapped his head back up to where it was before. He hoped that neither of them had noticed it, but some how he just didn't think that he could get away with them thinking that it was a bug that they'd seen moving out of the corner of their eyes. This might not be so easy to explain.
Had he been seen? Had he moved too much? Ted couldn't be sure. But then again neither could the two girls. They couldn't seem to make up their minds on whether it was Ted that they saw move or something else. It seemed that both were talking bout something else until they saw Ted move. Or at least thought they saw him. Teddy didn't move a stuffed muscle. He was too afraid that one of them would freak out and attack him. Let's face it... He couldn't exactly defend himself, even against normal humans, not to mention older mutants who could do God knows what.
The second red head was right. He was staring at her. But he couldn't help it. He was too interested to see who it was that was coming in to have stayed still. Now that he was becoming the center of attention he was more concerned that he would get caught. Teddy didnt' even turn his head to see what the second girl was doing when she waived her hand in fron of his face and got eye level with him. Ted sudenly felt like he was in an inquisition or interrogation. All eyes were on him and they both seemed to be waiting for him to make a move or make a sound. Well, to tell the truth, Ted was having fun. He found it kind of funny that they were both thinking they were going insane or like they were seeing something that they may not really be seeing. All of this made up for the fact that he was wearing a dress and head band.
What would his mom have said if she could see him now? Would she have been angry that he was using his powers in such a way that got girls to trust him? or would she have laughed at the fact that he was letting some stranger dress him up in a pink dress. Whatever floats your boat chick. Ted thought to himself as he was getting dressed. As long as she doesn’t put lipstick on me everything will be ok. Teddy continued to tell himself as this girl finished putting a dress and head band on him. Teddy tried his hardest not to move or run away. Ted was then set on top of a pillow and kept his eye on her while she moved her stuff around the room and into the closet.
Teddy was confused. Someone else entered the room and he couldn’t help but look at her. The stuffed animal turned his head and looked at the other girl coming in the room. Did she call her Star? That’s such a cool name. I wish I was named something cool like… Nitro, or Jet or Ace… But noooo! I’m stuck with a boring name like Ted. Teddy’s thoughts trailed off as he continued to stare at the new girl that walked in. God this is embarrassing. First I’m dressed up like a freakin’ Build-A-Bear’s ballet/gothic teddy bear, then as if things can’t get any worse someone else walks in. What on earth possessed me to do this? If the bear could have rolled his eyes he really would have. But then again if he’d had any teeth he probably would have bitten the girl as she was putting the dress on him. How did he talk himself into this? Since he was now staring at the new entrant he didn’t move his head any more. He’d hoped they didn’t see him move but now that he was in a dress it would make much more noise with him moving. So just in case of any noise, Teddy froze with his head turned to the side looking at the new comer.
After a while he wasn't sure if this sad girl would notice him. When she finally did turn around Ted froze. He didn't move at all and watched intently to see what this girl would do. Apparently getting picked up and hugged was a popular thing with girls and stuffed animals. This girl having a bad day was very apparent. Fortunately seeing Ted... or actually seeing the stuffed bear, seemed to put her in a better mood. Ted still needed to get used to the whole petting thing. He didn't mind being placed in a girls lap. What guy would? Also it seemed that people were used to talking about their problem to things that couldn't respond then they were to people who might judge them.
Ted tried not to judge people. This was mainly because he'd learned that people will tell him things that would make others think twice about that person. He seemed to be used by many people as a normal stuffed animal and told him what they were thinking about. Teddy wasn't exactly sure what he could do to help her out but he did think that he'd be able to comfort her a little. It seemed to be working, and she seemed to be calming down. This girl seemed to have calmed down quite a bit and Teddy had a feeling that if he'dmade a move she would have freaked out. Ted didn't think that he would ever get used to people trying to hug the stuffing out of him. Literally. As tempted as he was to shake his head he ignored the urge.
(OOC: not sure if your door’s open or not. Let me know and I’ll change it)
Ted was wandering around the mansion today. There wasn’t much that he wanted to do on a day like this. Three ideas popped into his head. One… he could go back to his room and take a little nap. Since he’d been practicing his powers more often now he was feeling more and more tired from mental use. Two… he could go chill in the living room and play a video game or go hang out outside on a nice day like this. Or three…he could practice his powers some more, either in the Danger Room or pretty much wherever he wanted. As Ted continued to wander around he happened to be walking through the bedrooms hallway. Most doors were closed and there weren’t many people around. Walking around he neared one door that wasn’t completely closed.
Teddy could hear someone shouting from just the other side. He didn’t want to pry but he couldn’t help but stop and listen. From what he heard it didn't sound like she was yelling at anyone but herself. The sobbing started and he poked his head through the crack to see an older girl curled up on the ground. Aww. Poor girl… looks like she could use a friendly teddy bear to help out. Who needs a councilor or psychiatrist when you got a stuffed animal to talk to? Especially one that can answer questions later on. With this thought Ted started the transition. He wasn’t sure what she would like, having never met the girl before, but one could never go wrong with a bear.
Ted stood just on the other side of the door, closed his eyes and focused on it. Teddy hoped that no one walked by right now because fake black fur started to grow all over his body. The young boy’s ears crawled to the top of his head and grew out just a little. The stuffed animal shifter shrunk down to the correct size. His arms and legs changed to their correct lengths and thickness as the stuffing started to expand inside his body. A little tail protruded from his butt and he fell down to all fours. The change was complete and Ted was now a full unmistakable stuffed black bear.
The teen then walked passed the door and, pushing it open a little more, walked as close to her as he could before she noticed him. his plan, should he pull it off, was this… Don’t let her see you move if you can help it. if she does see him move then oh well. Maybe she’d still want to talk with him.
Ted blushed. On the inside at least. Cause, of course, stuffed animals can’t blush. Then again it wasn’t often that they moved around too. Thanks. that’s something he wanted to say, but since he couldn’t talk he was forced to give her, as best he could, a smile. She was nice. He had to admit. Raina was more interested in him learning than having fun. However, he could spend a lot of time just playing. Ted then decided to walk around a bit and mingle with the other interesting badgers. Some were running and playing while others were burrowing for food and doing other badger stuff.
The young badger-boy turned around and joined the others. His walk felt a little uneven and forced, however, the farther he walked the more relaxed and natural it began to feel and look. There he was, minding his own business, and suddenly he was knocked over by a Danger Room badger. He looked around and rolled over, getting the animal off of him. The two started to roll around and he started wresting with it. It was fun, that’s all it was. Teddy’s moves started to look more and more badger like the more he rolled around with it. Oddly enough, he wasn’t getting scratched up or bitten. Just mainly pushed around. Ted considered this a good sign. It was telling him that he was able to blend in with others of the same species enough for them to play with him. Unfortunately this didn’t tell him exactly how a real one would react to him.
“That sounds perfect.” Ted replied to her. The young boy took the card that she handed him. “Ok.” He said taking a quick glance at the number before he put it in his pocket. “Thanks a lot. I’ve gotta get going now.” He said to the woman. Teddy turned and started to walk back into the crowd. Once he was past the security guards, that were still keeping the crowds at bay, he disappeared into the crowd. It took a while for him to get away from all the people because they were pressed so close together. Once he was clear he continued on his way.
It wouldn’t be that long of a trip but he was late since he’d already taken, this little detour. Ted would have to hurry.
Ted could tell that Pompei showed great respect for the people she’d mentioned, mainly because it wasn’t the first time that she’d mentioned them. The young mutant actually believed her. She sounded genuine and like she truly believed what she was saying. It was different when someone talked about something that they didn’t really truly understand or didn’t truly believe. She was one that really thought she could make a difference by using her current tactics.
“I go to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.” Teddy said in reply to her question. It was funny how they seemed to be both thinking along the same lines. He’d originally hoped that he would have been able to get her to talk at the mansion and now here she was asking him about the exact thing that he was planning on. Well it was like they said… ‘Great minds think alike.’ He didn’t exactly want to tell her that he was a mutant, at least not right away, but if she was here long enough or she came by his school she would soon see that he was a mutant. Maybe she already knew what the school was about and just from hearing the name she would know what he wasn’t telling her.
Ted waited for a little bit as Raina played with the computer upstairs. “Let’s hold off the sneaking into zoo’s thing for a little while.” Ted said back to her. He had no intention of breaking the law but more importantly he didn’t want to end up getting mauled in the process of learning. As the lights dimmed he stood motionless, unsure of what to expect to come out of the darkness that filled the room. Teddy shrugged. He didn’t mind if it was choppy. Choppy was better than nothing.
As Raina continued to talk the Danger Room started to fill up with a mix of real things and fake things. The programming was so good it was hard for him to tell which was real and which something the computer was projecting for him. Ted felt some sand hit him in the face before moving on to its place in the Danger Room. Ted watched as the badgers started to appear out of the computers system and become projected onto the Danger Room floor that he was standing on. It was awesome to see all this and the young mutant was even more surprised when a computerized badger came up to him and started sniffing his feet.
“This is sooo cool.” He remarked as everything came into place. Once everything stopped changing Ted took that as a sign that it was his turn to change. “You can come down and join in if you want.” Ted said and started the slow process of changing. The process was slow since he didn’t use this one a lot. At first Teddy started to shrink down until he was the size of the badgers. Once his arms and legs were the correct size he looked like a really weird kid. His hair changed to white with streaks of black, and for a second he might have looked a little bit like a skunk instead of a badger. His entire body started to cover up with fur, with different parts of it being black and different parts being grey or white. His hands and feet turned into little paws and a tiny little tail poked out of his back area. He had to admit…it was a little embarrassing to do this in front of someone, but he’d probably have to get used to that. Ted’s face then elongated and his eyes sucked in a bit, turning to little beady eyes, and his ears shrank and ran up to the top of his head. After a few minutes he was a fully fledged stuffed badger; able to move, groove and explore this area.
Everything looked so much bigger now that he was smaller. Every little grain of sand looked just a bit bigger. Granted he wasn’t super small but things that look small to him before now seemed to be just that much bigger. The fake badger that was around his feet before he changed was now directly in front of him, almost nose to nose actually. Ted started to shift his weight from foot to foot as he started to walk away from the first fake badger to mingle with other fake badgers. More seemed to be coming out of the wood work, well actually it’s probably better to say ground work since they were coming out of holes in the ground. The teddy was curious as to what was going on so he decided to check out one of the holes that a badger had recently come out of. Deciding it was too dark for him to see he turned around and came back out. Ted then wondered if Raina was going to be joining in on the fun he was having or if she would remain up in the computer room.
Raina seemed to know exactly what she was doing. Ted listened to her talking. He still wasn't super impressed with what he'd seen so far, but apparently Raina knew something about this room that he didn't. Ted started to imagine a warm jungle. He closed his eyes and pictured the trees around him and birds flying about finding food. And monkey's swinging from trees. The picture in his head seemed so vivid that he opened his eyes and was very surprised to see that he was really standing in the jungle. "Wow. This is so cool." Teddy said as a monkey stared at him from above the trees.
He'd spent a lot of time doing some research on what badgers liked... and a jungle wasn't it. "How about a prairie with a bunch of badgers." Ted said tearing his eyes away from the monkey above him. His idea was for trying to hide among a lot of other badgers. Mainly it would be fun for him to see how well he could blend in with other animals of the same species. It was true that they weren't real badgers that he'd be mingling with but they would be acting a lot like real ones. So maybe this would work.
“Hi Raina.” Ted said turning around to meet the woman. He was glad that she’d shown up. It would be a fun thing for him to show off for someone. Ted hadn’t even seen the woman before so he was surprised to see Raina with her red hair. Even though Teddy was usually kind of shy, he was more eager to play around with something fun than he was interested in. “I’m ready to start. I can’t wait.” said the eager 14 year old. Ted already had an idea of what would help him, and be the most fun, for when they started playing in the Danger Room.
It looked to be a promising day. Once Raina was there the Danger Room doors decided that they would open. Ted secretly hoped that he wouldn’t have to wait until he was as old as she was before he could get in there by himself. He’d never been in here before so when the doors opened he stared at the inside in awe. The young teen couldn’t imagine how something so awesome and so huge could be hidden inside a school like this. A little “Wow” escaped his lips and he took a few steps forward into the Danger Room. Now that he’d seen it he wasn’t sure how he would be able to get anything he wanted done. “How does this thing work? It won't help me much if it just hurts me.” Ted said actually sounding a little disappointed that he might be confined to practicing in his room alone.
Ted had a vision of something completely different. And now that he actually saw the place he wondered how it could possibly help him. Teddy looked at Raina expectantly waiting for an answer.
Pompei explained her answers very clearly to Ted. Even though he was only a young teen he still understood what she was saying. The best part was that she didn’t even make it sound like she was talking to someone younger or less intelligent. Hate? Ted didn’t understand. He didn’t know who the man she was talking about was, mainly because he didn’t watch the news, but he did know that there were plenty of people that didn't want a harmony between mutants and humans.
You didn't have to watch the news or anything to know that answer. Light started to dawn on Teddy. As she explained herself he nodded to show he understood. “Do you really think that just your speeches are making a difference? Or do you think that this might be fuel for the fire and make people madder?” Ted asked her once she was done answering his first question. Once this question was answered he didn’t really know what else that he might ask her. once this was done he might just return to the mansion and tell his friends what they’d talked about. Unless she wanted him to go with her or something, which he highly doubted.
“You're power is a adorable just so you know and I'm really sorry you had to hear me talk to myself like that. I only do it when I think no one else in the room.” Ruby's ears flattened a little. “Looks like I was wrong about that one.”
Ted continued to smile at Ruby. He couldn’t have imagined how embarrassed she must be feeling right now. However, it was still a little amusing. Ted was just mainly glad that the girl wasn’t really mad at him for eavesdropping, even though he was in the room first. Teddy blushed. “Ummm. Thanks, I really like my powers. They’re really fun.” The young boy commented.
There seemed to be a little tenseness in the room so Teddy decided he would try to alleviate it a bit. “I’m just glad you don’t carry stuffed animals in your mouth like a real fox. Then things would have been really awkward… you don’t do that do you?” he asked just so that they had a little clarification. And if he ever found himself in someone’s mouth he would have a better idea who it might be. “So are you like a werefox or something? Ya know like every full moon you turn into a real fox or do you always look like this?” Ted thought it was a good question but he wasn’t exactly sure how defensive or how easily offended she would get with something like that.
