The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lily grinned a very un-lady-like grin as she looked at her b.f.f. walking away. "Juka happened. He does that a lot." she chuckled at Shawn, amused by the whole situation "One of these days he's gonna get himself beaten up by an angry girlfriend. Or boyfriend." The crisis was thus averted, and Lily let go of Shawn's hand. It was nice, holding hands with him, but unfortunately she didn't have an excuse to continue doing so. "I hope I didn't offend your friend to badly." She shook her head, still smiling. "Nah, I don't think so. Juka's a sweetheart. He's just addicted to attention." Lily decided wherever - or to whoever - Juka was headed next, she would be better off if she didn't look, so she turned away and looked up at Shawn. "Don't worry about it, he's harmless. And I swear he didn't get that dress from me." she added with a smirk.
Lily chuckled at Callie's opinion about the room. Apparently she was an expert on mess. Well, Lily wasn't. "See, that's the problem right there. I don't have any siblings." she pointed out with a smile. Then she waited patiently while Callie stumbled through her question about her powers. She remembered having the same problem in many conversations not so long ago. "...I mean, what's you... what do they call it, power?" Lily smiled. "Power, ability, mutation, talent, gift... you can call it whatever you want" she shrugged "And I don't mind you asking at all. But you'll have to tell me about yours too." she added with a wink, before lifting the scattered gemstones and the beer can into the air with a mere glance and levitating them back to her hands. "I am a jewelry manipulator. My powers work on gemstones and precious metals." she explained. Putting the stones aside, she pulled the string of silver out of the beer can, shaping it into a bracelet, then dropped the can into the wastebasket. "I still have a lot to learn though." she admitted, to make Callie feel less nervous about the whole thing... and also because it happened to be true. Looking at her new roommate curiously, she smiled. "Your turn."
"So, eh... what do you guy's recommend someone does to meet new people, here... I mean... you guy's got sports? Recreational things you do together? How many students go here, anyways? Aww crap, I'm asking too many questions... My bad." Lily laughed out at that. "Eager aren't you." she grinned "You'll figure it out for yourself, don't worry." glancing as Shawn, she added "However weird this place looks to you now, it's still a school. Classes, trainings, gatherings, the whole deal. Trust me, if there is something one doesn't need to worry about here, it's meeting people. In a few weeks you'll be wishing for a hiding place to be alone." Chuckling, she sipped her coffee. "You're gonna enjoy it. Most of us do."
Lily looked at the skinny teenager with her glasses and oversize clothes, tilting her head curiously. The girl looked more than a bit lost and she had a blush on her cheeks. "Hi. I'm Callie Jones." Lily nodded with a smile and was about to take the hand that was about to be offered, when Callie changed her mind. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. It's just that my hands look gross right now, so you might not want to shake them. I should get some gloves," She nodded again. "It's okay, don't worry. Nice to meet you, Callie. My name is Lily." Glancing around in the room, she realized it looked like... well, not good. "Um, sorry for the mess. I've been living here alone for a while now, and I just kinda used up the space." Walking over to the other bed - the one that belonged to Callie now - she scooped up a bunch of dresses and shirts and skirt and carried them over to dump on her own bed. This was followed by a few seconds of rummaging as she cleaned up Callie's desk and nightstand too. Finally, she turned back to the girl with a grin. "Ta-da. All yours." She sat down on her own bed, leaving her brand new roommate some space and time to get settled in. She watched the girl curiously, wandering what her power was, and, more importantly, what her story was. She decided to wait till she is ready to talk. They had time.
Lily's lips parted slightly and her eyes widened in disbelief. What Juka did was a huge breach of etiquette. Not to mention it was a huge breach of... pretty much everything else too. Note to self. Have some girl talk with Juka later on. Lily stifled a giggle as she glanced at Shawn. Poor guy. She had to realize now and again that 1) she had no idea what her 'childhood friend' was capable of, and 2) her limit of dealing with Juka's weirdness was miles above the average human. Three, Shawn looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Nice. Lily was ready within seconds to deal with the situation. The bright smile was back on her face too. "So if yall've grown up together why haven't I seen you around here Juka before?" "Oh, I haven't seen him for quite a while either. We didn't even know about each others powers." she told Shawn as she gracefully moved to his side. Smiling at Juka, she added "You can't imagine how surprised I was when he dropped in to visit." Wearing skirts. Juka was a guy (or at least he used to be one), but he sure did seem to have some feminine instincts. Lily really hoped he'd pick up on the message she was trying to give him, body language and all. Just to be on the safe side, she put a hand on Shawn's arm. She could feel he tensed up (a Juka in the personal space does that to guys), and her hand slid down his arm till her fingers found his. She was still smiling at her childhood friend. "And how come you were invited? Where did you meet Ghost?"
"Hey Lily. I didn't know you were coming to the wedding." Lily turned around and smiled at the silver mutant. She knew he was near, although a fancy party like this one usually contained more precious metals to distract her. "Hi Shawn. I didn't know either, but I got an invitation, and... well, I figured everybody's going to be here, so, here I am." she chuckled "Never thought someone would come up with this setting in the Danger Room..." Glancing at Juka then back at Shawn she realized they probably didn't know each other. She noticed on Shawn's face the look most people had when they first saw full frontal Juka-ness face to face. "Shawn, this is Juka. We've been friends since we were kids." well, it was a stretch, but still closer to the truth than anything Juka would have said "Juka, dear, this is Shawn." Smiling at her friends, Lily realized this was the most unique party she'd ever attended. In more than one way.
'Pang' went the last gemstone, knocking the beer can over, and this time it was left lying on the floor as Lily stood, and almost fell on her face because her legs fell asleep a while ago. "Hold on, I'm coming!" Massaging her calf and jumping around for a few seconds she got enough blood back in her legs to limp over to the door and open it.
The girl looked about fifteen years old or so, and she was holding a key in her hand. She also had a trunk and a backpack, and all in all she had the looks of a lost puppy that was easy to recognize. Most new arrivals had the same look (except for the one she fished out of a mansion death trap, but that was definitely an exception). Lily looked down at the girl, and her motherly instincts were already in motion. "Oh. Hi. Let me guess: you are my new roommate?" stepping back (still limping) and opening the door, she smiled a friendly smile "Come in."
Is it just my innocent self or is it really cool to read "Morality: Bad." on a character sheet?... Haven't met you before, Geo, but welcome back anyway
Lily couldn't help but gasp when she noticed Meld among the crowd. She was apparently here as just another guest... Lily shook her head, stunned. Meld was not a threat - if she'd been one, they wouldn't have let her in. Amazing. First Slate, and then someone from the Order... Well, either the bride and the groom were just this popular, or the world of inter-mutant relationships was just this much more complicated that she'd thought. Or both. Most probably... both.
... and then there was Juka. "Wasn't that posatively beautiful?... My lovely Ghosty all grown up and married now." Lily smiled at her friend. No matter what, Juka was always Juka. Lighting up the room in a strange yet innocently cheerful manner. "Long time no see, darling" she chuckled "You are right. Positively beautiful."
Lily couldn't suppress a sigh of relief when she heard someone pick up her phone. "It's about bloody time." She'd never been so happy to hear her own voice. Even with the British accent. If she wasn't as tired and freaked out as she was, she might have found the whole thing just a tiny bit amusing. "You're at the labs yes? Is my body in one piece?" Right to the point. Lily, who was still being happy about hearing the voice of her apparently unhurt body, was silent for a few seconds before remembering she should answer. "Yes. And yes. I'm at the labs with... um, Slate. Is my body all right?"
The whole Mansion had been in a buzz for days. Lily heard people talk about 'the wedding', but since she didn't know either the bride or the groom, she figured she didn't have much to do with the whole event. She was genuinely surprised to receive an invitation. And she was secretly happy too. In the past few months, the Mansion became her home and her new (rather extended) family. She was glad something huge and fun was about to happen. And weddings were always cheerful and beautiful and romantic too. She liked that. With her undeniable routine at attending social events, she knew there was only one rule that stood above all the rest: do not overdress the bride. Even with the wardrobe of a true Lafayette girl, that thing proved hard to achieve. After some thinking, Lily chose a plain dress - and when she arrived to the Danger Room, she realized it was useless to worry. The bride (Ghost, was it?) looked stunning. The whole place did, to tell the truth - Lily smirked, thinking about all the different settings the place could conjure up. This one looked real, and very pleasant, and it was crowded with cheerful people. The couple looked happy and very much in love, and Lily allowed herself the luxury of admiring the romance. She cheered with the others when the newlyweds kissed. Some faces were familiar, and some people she knew quite well. She smiled at her teammates, and looked around the crowd; to her greatest surprise, she noticed Slate, and another... Slate? Jewel blinked, rather confused, then shook her head, thinking about mutant abilities and all that. She'll figure it out later on. For now, the reception was under way, and it was time to enjoy the party.
Emerald. She hadn't heard that name before, but it instantly piked her curiosity. Of course, it had a lot to do with that person being named after a gemstone, but still... Lily realized she barely knew a few people in the Mansion, even though she'd been living there for months. Resting her chin in her palm, she smirked. "Trust me, you'll soon know more about the Danger Room than you ever wanted to find out." she grinned at Saphirus, winking at Shawn. It sounded like a girl talking about the boys' game, but secretly, Lily enjoyed Danger Room sessions. Even though she got more bruises during them than she did in her whole life before. "So... this place looks pretty big... What all do ya got here in the way of... I dunno, Entertainment?" At that, she just had to chime in again. "What, the traps were not enough?" she quirked an eyebrow. She couldn't really answer the question - she never thought about it before. Now that she did, she had to realize that life itself was the entertainment in the Mansion. Sure, sometimes it was annoying and sometimes it was just plain scary, but it was never, ever boring. But, she thought, Saphirus will just have to find that out for himself.
The guys were finally getting along. Lily smiled as she listened to the conversation. One of the main things she believed in was that there wouldn't be so many conflicts in the world if people communicated better with each other. Talking seemed to work out just fine this time too. To make things more cheerful, fresh coffee was ready. She filled in three mugs and set two of them on the table for Shawn and Saphirus, together with cream, sugar and all the things they could possibly wish for a cup of coffee. "Well, since it's officially morning now, I thing we'll all need this." she smiled at them as she took her place by the table once again. At Saphirus' question about rules, she chuckled and glanced at Shawn. "Well, best is if you don't piss anyone off at all... you'll learn the rest real soon." Leaving 'the rest' to Shawn, she buried her nose in the coffee mug. Any morning could have been a lot worse than welcoming a newcomer to the Mansion. In spite of the lack of sleep, she was feeling cheerful.
