The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

”I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for my upbringing, I’d probably be working with the Order if I was raised differently.” Lily offered a kind smile and two dimples as she looked at Sam. "That would be our loss. You are doing great job at the school. And we'd hate to go up against you." she chuckled. As if they could. All right, maybe teamed up, but definitely not alone. She remembered her training sessions with Sam. ”His name is Dominic, calls himself Feral... He is the one that sings, “Put a ring on it” from time to time… Pretty obvious that we had different childhoods.” Lily nodded with a smile. "I think I met him at the wedding. He was with Shawn's sister." well, they were talking at least, when she met Alison for the first time. She grinned at the singing comment. "I can't say I miss the image of you singing that song. No offense, boss." ”If you could try to keep my childhood quite not a lot of people know and I like to keep it that way.” Lily nodded again, more serious this time. "Sure." She was good at keeping secrets. She'd never been a chatty one anyway, and people who trusted her with something important she usually respected enough not to share it with someone else. Time to move. Good. Lily adjusted her scarf and pulled her coat tighter before taking the glow stick from Sam. When the dome collapsed and the wind hit them, she almost lost her balance; the wind was still blowing, but at least Sam kept the snow away. That left them slightly more things to see. Focusing her powers for a moment Jewel turned in the right direction. "That way. They haven't moved since I found them." She lead the way, maneuvering around objects like bushes and trees carefully, snow crunching under her feet. Under her coat and gloves she kept the silver moving around; they had the advantage of knowing where their opponents wer,e but that didn't mean they could go unprepared. After a while - she couldn't really tell how much time it had been - Lily stopped. There was a slight slope ahead of them. "We go up that hill, we should be able to see them." she said, just loud enough for Sam to hear over the sound of the wind.
So I'm messing around with an MRO music video just for the fun of it and because I have tons of studying I don't want to do. So if any of you have a celebrity or even better some video on their characters that they'd like to be added in the mix, post a name/link here and we'll go from there. I'm not promising anything, but it's going to be fun
”If you could call it that, Orphanages have people come in who wanted kids, me on the other hand, I was pushed to the back.” Lily bit her lip; here was another story she didn't know how to react to. The things Sam talked about sounded so far away from her own little world it could have been another reality. Juka was not the only one with bubbles around him. Of course, his were more obvious. Sometimes Jewel envied him for it. She wondered how he was doing. He, and the others back home. Her parents who thought she was on a field trip, and had no idea their darling little daughter was hunting mutant hunters. ”They were my parents, got separated, when I was young, and I never saw them again, used to think they would come and save me if I did everything I was asked but, they never came, and then last year my brother showed up to the mansion with news that were my parents were dead.” Lily drew a breath and looked down at the silver running around her fingers. She didn't really know what to say. She couldn't even begin to imagine how it would feel to loose Dad and Maman. She was beginning to understand something new about her friends. She was not sure she could put it into words, but it was something about loss, and comfort, and relationships, and families. Mainly loss. "I'm sorry, Sam." she muttered after a while, glancing up at him, and then, because she felt like she needed to say something to break the silence inside the dome of snow, and because she was curious, she asked "...Who is your brother?..."
"For your information Lily... I may run but I don't scream." Lily giggled at that. Of course he doesn't. She figured that much. X-men don't scream. It was still a funny image, now that he mentioned it. It looked like they would have trouble getting out of bed and into some decent clothes anytime soon. Lily didn't really mind either. "I've actually heard that only daughters hzve their dad wrapped around their little pinky. And what would daddys little girl say to him to sway him not to get a restraining order placed on me?" "Oh, I would tell him what a nice, trustworthy young gentleman you are, and that all your plans and intentions concerning his little daughter are completely decent and harmless." she grinned "And that if he got a restraining order I would be really, really sad." she added with a pout "And I might also mention you can walk through walls." That last part was the least risky, to tell the truth - Dad and Maman knew about their daughter's abilities, and had always been friendly with mutants. If there was anything that would make them suspicious about Shawn, it was not the mutation. "Well hopefully he wont try to keep us apart cause I don't think it would work at all." "Good." she smiled; she could feel his silver reacting to her touch. She thought she'd get used to the feeling, but apparently it felt a little bit different every time. It must have been the same for Shawn. He didn't complain about tickling this time. So she kissed him again. Because she could.
"Am I still a prospective boyfriend? I was kind of hoping I'd be a little a head of the other past suiters." Lily giggled, she really enjoyed this game right now. "And you think that because....?" Because they shared - technically are still sharing - the same bed in less then decent clothing (or lack thereof), because they made out and because he's nothing like the ones before? That was no reason she should stop messing with him. "What are you trying to do? Scare me off. I happen to be a little tougher to intimidate than most people." Lily grinned and shrugged. "Oh, they all say that, at first. And then comes the running and the screaming..." "And what would your dad say if he could see you now? It doesn't matter what your dad could do to me...he couldn't keep me away from you." Lily smiled and allowed herself to be pulled back, close to him. No, none of the other guys were anything like Shawn. Her fingers twitched as she felt the silver under his skin. "He would probably say 'Son, you and I need to talk'." she chuckled, leaning against him, finally giving up the game "But you know the thing about only daughters is they can't really be controlled by Daddy once they've made up their mind. So no, I don't think he could keep me away from you either."
”Well I know who I’m going out with when we get back state side, I tell you Ghost drank for the first time a few weeks before her wedding. She was entertaining to say the least.” Lily snickered. She didn't know Ghost personally, but if her own experience was any indication, she could imagine why Sam used the word 'entertaining'. "So you wanna see me carry a piss drunk Shawn to bed like he did last night with me?" she asked, folding her arms "Very mature." ”...Anyways the orphanage I was at weren’t really that well equipped to handle kids like me so I spent some time seeing what I could do.”. The grin melted into a soft smile as Lily watched the ice figures form and then disappear. She couldn't tell who they were, but they must have been important, and brought up from the memories Sam was talking about. "So, you grew up in an orphanage?" she asked softly. She'd figured out by now that everyone in the Mansion had a story, and most of them were not always cheerful... she started to feel like she was the weird one, with her protective family and her happy childhood. "Who are they?" she asked, although the ice statues were gone, she knew Sam would know what she meant.
”Kaz is defiantly a character, he threatened to kill me last night” Weird as it was, Jewel had to smile. That sounded very much like Kaz. She didn't know her teammate too well, and being the sensitive girl she was she suspected there was more to his character than what he liked to show people... but it still sounded very much like him. Threatening the team leader over a situation that wasn't even what it looked like. "He's a charmer isn't he." she grinned. ”It’s weird I’m not usually the type of guy to jump to conclusions like that.” She didn't say anything to that, but continued grinning. Oh, there was a moment like that in every man's life. She knew better than to spell it out for him. Sam was smart, he'll figure it out soon enough. ”Just be sure you yourself don’t get put in a position like that, last thing I want is to see Streak cry cause you yelled at him.” And the grin grew even wider. Now there was an image. "You won't see that happening anytime soon, boss. I don't yell, and I doubt I could make him cry if I did." Holding out her hand, she made the silver rings around her wrists move down and cover her palm and fingers. She moved her fingers, and moved the silver along with them; it was a game she usually played when she was bored. Also, it was Streak's silver. It made her feel safe. ”And yes, Alex is a tigress who could maul me if she so pleased.” Lily watched the little show and started to laugh. "You are quite the artist, Sam."
”I heard about that, good it wasn’t a fatal shot, and your capable of such much Jewel it’s just your mind doesn’t work the same when someone you care about is injured, it takes a great amount of loss to have any inkling what you can be capable of…” Yes, it was definitely good it was not a fatal shot. Jewel shuddered at the thought of Shawn getting killed. Hurt she could deal with, because he could too... she always had that feeling Shawn was really hard to kill. it was a very comforting thought. ”It’s good you didn’t kill them either, not a lot of people can handle killing, it just leaves a empty feeling of regret in the pit of your stomach something that never really goes away.” Lily was very sure she was one of the people who couldn't handle killing. She was just that kind of person. Looking up at Sam's face over the glowing stick she wondered if he spoke from experience. She couldn't tell. ”I just hope she can forgive me for it, acted like a grade A Ass last night, still need to apologize to Kaz as well.” "Good luck with that" Lily couldn't help but smirk "I think Kaz would need something much more severe than last night's mess to punch a hole on his ego." she chuckled "Alex will come around, don't worry. You'll just need to be... very convincing."
Lily grinned, and sat back, tilting her head at Shawn. "Well, I don't know. You know, Dad proved to be very talented in staring down prospective boyfriends" she said matter-of-factly "Sometimes I wonder if it's a mutation, really. Very, very powerful." Of course she was joking. Dad was great at intimidating boys who set their eyes on his darling only daughter, but far not good enough to be superhuman. Of course said boys did not need to know that. She didn't think Shawn would have any problems with it either. It was just fun to say stuff like that and wait for his reaction. "Hey it's ok to be nervous about having your first boyfriend. I'd have been surprised if you weren't nervous about having a boyfriend. It's only to be expected and I'll be as patient as you need me to be." Now that was just sweet. Lily's cheeks turned pink and she dimpled as she looked up at him. "Thank you." she said, touching his face with one hand before a smile lit up her face "Don't worry, I am a quick learner." And she laughed again.
The distraction never really goes away. Lily nodded. Somewhere deep down she already knew that, even though she was fairly now to missions and the kind of responsibility that went with them. She watched the small snow figure crumble and re-form itself, and smiled, thinking about all the stuff Sam just said. It was good to know she wasn't the only one who felt this way about someone else on her team. "I know" she said, staring into the light of the glow stick "Back in the park, when Shawn got shot, I... did things I didn't know I would be capable of. And I came really close to killing the man who hurt him." That was not easy to say; she still couldn't really admit it to herself, but denying it wouldn't have done any good either. It was also good to hear that things worked out between Alex and Sam. "You know, the way I see it, Alex really cares about you. She wouldn't have been that upset last night if she didn't." she pointed out with the smile returning to her lips "It's a girl thing."
"Well not to point any fingers but I wasn't uncomfortable until you said that." Lily rolled her eyes at that and huffed. "But you were bound to find out anyway, sooner or later." He was too. And 'later' would probably have been way, way much more awkward than it was sooner. "Have I not been treating you the same way? Or have I been treating you like a normal person? Ya know not counting the fight we got into at the park. Lily chuckled at that. "Yes you have been. I have to admit, no guy ever took me on a date where I had to fight for my life." she said, poking him in the ribs. It was true. And scary as hell, and all kinds of upsetting, but it was truly the most memorable date she ever had, so far. "I think your dad had something to do with that and he just hasn't gotten to me yet. But I gotta admit I'm looking forward to any meeting with him that I might have to have later on." At that comment, Lily was silent for a few seconds, then started to giggle into Shawn's neck. "I can deal with high maintenance." The giggling just grew louder, and now Lily was laughing, in a cheerful manner that made it look like she hadn't been embarrassed at all just minutes before. "Shawn, you did not just say that. Tell me you didn't just say you were looking forward to meeting Dad." she laughed, pulling away to look at him "Come on, dear, I might not have experience with the whole relationship thing, but even I am not that naive." What guy in his right mind would ever want to meet his girlfriend's father unless he was forced to, with a gun at his head?... Wrapping her arms around Shawn's neck she gave him a kiss on the cheek between some more laughter. "But I appreciate you saying it, you know." she smiled up at him, pulling the robe back up on her shoulders "And I'm sorry for ruining the moment. I guess I did get a bit nervous."
”How long can you hold you lock on them?” Lily watched the dome of snow form around them, and she was truly impressed. It was kind of beautiful, even though it was made for purely practical reasons. She truly believed every mutation had some kind of beauty to it, one way or another. And sitting inside a dome of snow, it felt like something she'd have enjoyed to do as a little girl. Then she remembered she forgot to answer the question. "Um..." she shrugged "I don't really have a lock on them, they are just there. This part of my power... it's a sixth sense. It works all the time." Settling down, she pulled her scarf down and pulled the hair back from her face. ”Now we wait. So….you and Streak…been getting kind of close.” Oh, great. Stuck in a snowstorm, and talking relationships with Sam. Lily chuckled and looked at him over the glow stick. "Yeah. We've been doing this dance for a while now, and it was really distracting both of us from the mission, so... we had a talk, and figured it out." she said with a smile. Sure, they did. In a way. Tilting her head, she was silent for a while before she dared to ask. "How about you and Alex? I haven't seen her today, and she was... kind of upset last night. Is she okay?"
"Gold teeth, silver rings, diamond studded earrings, in fact the only sort of head hunters you need to worry about are the ones without any." Jewel shuddered and frowned. She wondered if Shawn had told Sam about their encounter with the thugs on their first not-date, and what she did to the guy who shot him. Gold teeth. Yay. ”And I brought you hear for a few reasons first of which is a very important lesson, when we are on a mission that requires stealth don’t get drunk all it takes is a slip of the wrist and your power goes off and then your stuck in the camps.” "I'm sorry" she said, loud and clear this time, because she really was, and she wanted Sam to know it. She already got her fair share of talk about last night from Shawn, not to mention all the guilt she managed all by herself. "It won't happen again." ”Looks like there is going to be a snow storm, we can keep moving but the hunters would be smart enough to pitch camp otherwise they risk getting lost, can you feel them yet?” Lily took a breath, and held it in, trying her best to concentrate over the wind and the snow. Sam was keeping the latter at bay, for the moment, but there was no doubt the weather was just getting started. Letting her senses reach out, Lily finally found something that wasn't there before. Tiny objects, not bigger than regular jewelry, and not particularly good quality either, but there they were, in one group, moving around more than inanimate objects should. "Sam? I think I got them." she said, finally opening her eyes once she was sure her senses won't lose the sign "They are not close, but they are moving around in one place. I think they are settling down for the storm." She pulled the scarf around her head tighter and blinked away some snoflakes from her eyes. "So, what's the plan now?..."
