The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“We’ll be taking a car for most of the way. But once we get within a few miles of the boarder then we’ll have to go on foot. Once we get them across and we come back we can grab the car and bring it back. There’s a place where we can drop the car that should leave it unnoticed and pick it back up just as unnoticed.” Lily nodded. "Well, let's make the most of it then." There will be a part of their journey when they will have to go on foot, and that was much more risky than the car. But at least the first part they could make easier, so neither the two of them nor the mutants they were protecting would be too tired. “Are you ready? We need to pick up the car before we get the people.” "Always" she nodded with a slight smile, holding his hand "Let's go save some people. How many of them can we take tonight?" It was an important question. On the one hand, they needed to doget as many people out of the country the fewest rounds possible as they could; on the other hand bigger groups were harder to keep together and easier to spot too. Lily felt weirdly calm. It's surprising how fast someone can get used to working missions on the X-team.
“Yeah, I’ve been assigned to help you with the translations.” Alex played along. Good. Lily was not sure why she was doing what she was doing, but somehow it felt like a good plan not to show the guards they knew each other. Extending her hand in a polite gesture, she glanced at the bracelet Alex was wearing. She hadn't seen that before. It was always the collars... "Welcome." she nodded, then followed her friend's glance. Oh, she noticed the cameras. Great. They were everywhere, all the time. The idea of being observed gave Lily the creeps. “Lily, what the hell are you doing here?” She didn't know. Of course she didn't. Lily wondered again if she was the only one who got brought in... she had to know. "We are making food for the prisoners." she explained in her normal voice, and gestured at the plates and bowls on the tables and the women working around them. "Walk with me." As they walked across the kitchen Lily pointed out a few things as if explaining what whas what. In the meantime, in a much lower voice, she was talking about something entirely different. "I was brought in with Kaz." she said hurriedly "I have been working here in the kitchen for two days now. How did you get in here? Are you hurt?" she paused, glancing around and noting the guards were occupied with staring at some of the other girls at the moment "What about the others?..."
”Clearly I miscounted!” Jewel smirked as she stood up. As if anyone could have counted better in a blizzard. At least all of them were down now. ”Jewel check and see if you can find anyone else in the area, I doubt they would have wised up to our tracking system yet.” Takind a deep breath, she focused on their surroundings again; pieces of silver and gold shone through the snow and wind. "Far as I can tell, this is all of them." she yelled back, watching as the dome formed over them and Sam took care of securing a place for their prisoners. Thank goodness all of them were conscious, more or less, and even though they needed some help walking over to the pillars, at least they didn't put up a fight. Jewel could hear them murmuring comments at her, but decided not to react, and not to tell Sam either. No need for more beating at them right now. They were clearly surprised one fo their attackers was a lady. That made Lily smile. Once they were all secured to the ice pillars, Jewel pulled her silver back, wrapping it around her wrist; she made sure she didn't take more than she put on them, she needed to leave them something she could track. Just in case. With that done, she stepped back next to Sam, and left the talking to him. ”Who is in charge, I don’t feel like asking again!” At first, none of them asnwered. Two were barely conscious, and the rest hung their heads or looked away, murmuring about mutants and other unpleasant things; but all of them did glance in one direction sooner or later, and Lily followed their looks. "That's him" she nodded at the guy in the middle, the one that used to have a gun and now had blood trickling from a scratch on his forehead and freezing into place. He looked up at her voice, and his face was everything but friendly. Lily smirked. She was good with people.
Lily had been staring at the map for so long she was pretty sure she had it burned into the inside of her eyelids down to the last tiny line. At first, the whole plan looked impossible. By definition, the X-team was here to make that particlar kind of thing happen. Still, she thought there would be more of them... but it turned out there was too much to do in so little time, and separate missions were the only way to help as many people as they could. So it was just Shawn and her. “It’s not going to be as easy as I was hoping it would be. All of this… it’s all farm lands. If we want to take them to Bulgaria, which is closer then we’ll be out in the open a lot. I think you’re gonna need to take more of my silver before we go. Just for precautions.” Lily nodded with a small smile, and put her hands on his, pulling on his silver slowly, careful not to take too much at once. She was still not sure how much she could take without causing some kind of harm, but using her powers on him always had some kind of effect on him, it was better safe than sorry. While cool silver trailed up her arm under her clothes, she kept listening to the plan. Well, it was not much of a plan, but it was all they could come up with. "What kind of transport do we have?" she asked "We'll have to go on foot once we are close to the border in the woods, but getting there... well, it's easier to spot, but we'll might have to risk it." They had to deal with a lot of people. Even if in smaller groups, they needed protection, and needed to stay together, and all kinds of things they will have to deal with besides keeping an eye out for hunters and soldiers. The phone rang; it was time to go. While Shawn answered the call, Lily put on her jacket and checked all her gear, making sure everything was ready and packed safely in her backpack. Except for the metals and stones. She needed those closer, just in case. The jacked and her other clothes covered the serious amount if silver and gold that covered parts of her body like a second skin. The stones were set in her belt and bracelets. She smirked. Kaz was right, shiningy adglittering just gives you away. "All set" she nodded once Shawn put down the phone"Let's go."
Lily pushed herself away from the table to stand on her own feet; if she kept looking like she was about to collapse, one of the guards might come over to put his hands all over her, or even worse, one of the prisoners might decide to help and they would both get yelled at. She put her weight back on her feet. Could be worse. It was incredible how fast her body was getting used to dealing with the worst kind of pain in mere days.
"Go, take this to them" she pointed at the plate in the girls' hands and at the women around one of the huge cauldrons. She knew the girl only understood the gestures, not the words, but speaking kept her sane and composed. She could hear the guards speaking, and turned to look at the door. A new prisoner arrived. It happened more and more in the last few days. Except this time it was Alex.
Lily's eyes widened. Oh dear God. This was not supposed to happen. Kaz was supposed to get captured, mainly because he was insanely reckless, and she got caught because, well, she was weak and not really useful, but Alex?... And who else?... She was glad when the blood left her face it could have been the after-effect of being shocked. They pushed Alex towards her. She didn't understand what they were saying, but she could see her face, and she looked.... scared? worried?... Lily swallowed. Alex was the strong one. The independent one. She was not supposed to be scared. She was also not supposed to meet any friends in a place where she had been sent to spend her hours of labor duty. Lily cleared her throat, and picked up the bowl of vegetables she'd been carrying. Walking a few steps closer, she tilted her head as she looked at Alex. "Do you speak English?..."
”It’s either this or we get more violent, sometimes this is the best we can do Jewel… Heads up,” Men were falling at her feet. One man in particular. With a particularly loud crash. And a painful one too. "Got it, boss" she smirked as she kicked the guy, not out of cruelty, just hard enough to turn him onto his stomach and keep him from getting up. Once his face hit the snow, Lily knelt on his back to tie his hands together with a band of silver. It was done in mere seconds; the next moment he tried to get up, and Lily lost her balance on his back, rolling into the snow. It probably saved her life. The man she'd been looking for, the one with the gun, seemed to come to his senses, even worse, find his weapon, and fired a shot at Jewel, only missing her becuse she fell. There you are. The guy she'd just tied up started yelling something at his teammate, probably about firing shots at him in the middle of a fight, and even though his words were lost in the wind they were enough to draw the gunman's attention for a few seconds. Sitting up in the snow, Lily reached out her hand and fired back. It was a series of five smaller gemstones, pulled from her jewelry hidden under her coat; they were not fast enough to work as bullets, but they hit the man right on the forehead one after another, and he staggered back, grabbing his head and dropping the gun. Most expensive ammo ever. Lily thought as she sprang up and tackled the man, kicking him in the guts for good measure before she managed to bring him down. They rolled around for a while, Lily's silver spikes and blades fighting against the superior strength of the man, but finally she managed to deliver a punch at his temple and a minute later she was sitting on top of his back, gasping for air. Phew. "Two more down, C.S.!" she yelled at Sam. With more than a bit triumph in her breathless voice. She really hoped Sam was doing as well as she did.
'Kitchen' by definiton was always a pleasant image in Lily's mind. It was the idea of a nice, clean place with polished surfaces, fruits in a bowl, sweets in the cupboard, and the kind of order that was the signature of Nanny and everyone she supervised. It was glittering white porcelaine plates and cups with roses on them, and the smell of spices and all her favorite foods. It was milk and cereals in the morning, and Daddy with a newspaper, and Maman in her dressing gown drinking a tiny cup of coffee. Yes. 'Kitchen' for her meant an essential part of 'home'. Not this kitchen, though. Not at all.
The collar shocked her again, and the nice memories were gone in a rush of pain. Lily braced herself against the wooden surface of a nearby table and bit her lips, straining to stay on her feet. A muffled cry still escaped. Dammit. The first time this happened, she thought she was going to die. Now she knew she wouldn't. At least not from the collar. When her memories wandered, her senses wandered, and whenever that happened, it meant her powers were active, and a potential threat to humankind that needed to be surpressed at all costs. Not like sensing precious metals could do anyone any harm. But they did not make that distinction. Lily was secretly glad they did not find out about the other opportunity either.
The guard nearby was watching her with mild curiosity. Lily suspected there was some kind of a bet involved. Everywhere in the camp one could hear cries of pain every now and then, as the mutants with low control over their powers paid the price for their genetic code. She drew a breath, and looked up at the guard. He was always there, at the kitchen door. He had grabby hands.
There were other prisoners in the kitchen, all of them women and girls. The place was huge, incredibly hot with no fresh air, and there were several big bowls filled with whatever passed for food in the camps. Most of the ingredients that went into it were rotten or spoiled by the time they arrived. Lily was determined to make the most of it. They were cooking for the other prisoners.
One of the girls walked over to her with a plate of raw meat in her hands. She couldn't have been more than 15 years old, and she did not speak any English, but in the past two days since Lily got assigned to kitchen duty she had been one of the people she worked with. She spoke in her own language, Lily could tell she was asking if the lady was all right; she forced herself to smile and stand, even if both the smile and her feet were shaky. There were colorful dots swimming before her eyes and all the cuts and burises of the past days were throbbing with pain. "I'm fine."
As fine as you can be right after being shocked. As fine as you can be when surrounded by guards who can do to you whatever they want. As fine as you can be when you are working all day together with women and girls with no hope and constant fear. As fine as you can be after telling yorself for days that this all was just a bad dream. As fine as you can be knowing there are people out there willing to risk their lives to come and help, and knowing what they will have to face. As fine as you can be when you spent your life as the only child of a wealthy American family and suddenly you find yourself in the middle of a nightmare.

”If you need to get close stay hidden! I’ll bring them down to the ground you keep them under control.” Here goes nothing. Jewel took a few steps to get away from Sam; being to close might have disturbed him in whatever he was doing or planning on doing. Lily winced at the sight of the gun. No, don't go there, not now. But the shot never got fired, and the man did not get a second chance to try. ”Alex said she would kill me if you get hurt Jewel so try and avoid getting hit… I doubt Streak would be happy either…” Jewel rolled her eyes as she felt the silver harden around her body, ready for the fight. "Shut up, Sam" she smirked back, keeping her eyes on their opponents "I can take care of myself." Two others attacked, and Jewel found herself wondering just how stupid they were - all right, maybe they didn't know Sam's abilities as well as she did. A moment later both of them paid for their ignorance with hitting the ground and rolling in the snow. They are down. Let's keep them down. By the time Lily covered the few steps' distance one of them had already rolled onto his back. He tried to yell something too, but that was stopped by Jewel's knee hitting his chest; the rest of the struggle cut short by a metal clad fist colliding with his temple. Ouch, thought Lily sympathetically as she pulled the man's wrists together behind his back and secured them with a band of metal. When he wakes he'll have trouble getting them free. The other one took the harder hit, thank God; by the time Jewel finished, he was still back on his knees, groping around in the snow for his weapon. He was saying something too, but it couldn't really be heard in the wind. When Jewel got close to him, he sprang, tackling her; there was surprise on his face when a knife blade slid down her side, tearing her jacket but not going through the metal underneath. Lily groaned, pushing against his shoulder with her hand, and fighting to keep the silver flowing from her to him. Seconds later he was trying to get away from her, groping at the band of metal winding around his neck. "I hate doing this" Jewel growled as she pushed him down on the ground; once his hands were bound, she pulled back the silver from his neck. Two down, one more to go. Standing up, she looked around to see how Sam was doing; she also had to locate the one who had the gun. Taking a deep breath, she moved some silver from one hand to the other. Ready, steady.
Lily got down onto the ground next to Sam (codenames on the field, dammit), and followed him down the hill in the storm that soon turned into a blizzard with some help from certain mutant powers. Jewel didn't feel sorry for the hunters, but didn't envy them either. ”We are going to pick them off one by one if possible, if you have enough materials to help detain them feel free to help.” She nodded, eyes narrowing as she looked over the camp site. "They are out of my range" she frowned "We either need to go closer, or I do. Otherwise I can't do much." It didn't feel good to say that on the field, in the middle of the mission, but so it was, and C.S.'d better know it before he counts on Jewel doing something she was not capable of with her current powers. The golem seemed to be doing a pretty good job, taking out the first one that was stupid enough to leave the tent. Lily could hear Sam laugh; for a moment her thoughts wandered to her favorite topic, mutants, nature and mutations. The blizzard, the cold wind and the whirling snowflakes seemed somewhat connected to his mood. When she turned her attention back to the camp, she could see one of the crumble under the golem. If someone was inside, they'd have trouble getting out of there with the amount of snow, ice and one additional person on top. ”Got a feeling things are going to go from bad to worse!” "So much about one by one" Lily nodded, already on her feet and ready to go if Sam let her. The silver under her clothes formed itself into her usual chest plate and enveloped her hands and arms. She could feel pieces of precious metal moving around in the nearby tents. They will soon be out, at least the ones close enough to hear the tent crash. "I can secure the ones you bring down, I've got enough metal on me." she added. The blizzard was still on, full force; without Sam's approval she couldn't even get to the tents. Well...
I'm glad you like it, Calley. And House would make a very good Rupert. Everyone else: I'm working on the next version. I'll try to add everyone I missed before Stay tuned. Keep sending clips.
“Did you forget we have a mission today?... But then again I see you had good reasons to be distracted. Hi Lily. How you feeling today?” Okay so this was embarrassing. Lily could see the look on Alex's face when she noticed Streak was not alone. As if she hadn't been the one suggesting they talked about their relationship. Or at least that's how Lily remembered their girl talk the night before. It was all a bit foggy. "I'm fine." she murmured, cheeks turning red as she got off the bed and ran her fingers through hair in an attempt to look a bit less disheveled "Hung over and mildly embarrassed, but fine." she added with a small smile. Oh well. If someone had to find them like this in Shawn's room, Alex was not the worst that could have happened. While Shawn got dressed and ready for the mission, Lily picked up her various belongings from around the room. Her clothes were still in the bathroom where she'd left them, so she had to stick to the robe till he appeared again. In the meantime, she smiled an all-knowing smile at Alex. She still felt too awkward to chat. They will have to talk again later. Probably after the missions. Probably with a lot less alcohol involved.
"Sam's a good guy. He'll protect you. But you better come back safe... And in one piece. OK?" Lily smiled up at Shawn; ever since last night this was the first time she realized they were still on a mission. Talking about it was one thing - actually going out and doing dangerous things was another. It was time to test the theory about distraction. "I'll be fine, Shawn" she whispered and kissed him back "Don't you dare worry about me. Take care." She let him go, and smiled at Alex. "You too, be careful. See you later." She watched them leave, before walking back to the bathroom to get dressed. Sam was probably already waiting for her. Time to get back to Earth.
"I'd be sad too but somehow I don't think you would turn me in for breaking the restriction." You bet I wouldn't. Lily's nervousness was rapidly fading as she wrapped her arms around his neck; as far as kissing went, she had a lot to catch up on. And they had the whole day off before... Knock knock. Lily's groan of frustration matched Shawn's as the kiss ended. They didn't even order anything! She realized the room was Shawn's, so someone would most probably looking for him and not her, and she wondered who would that be and if it would be better if she made herself invisible. Of course it could always be one of their teammates, or... Alex. Lily grinned as she composed herself, pulling the bathrobe tighter. Oh, Alex would definitely get the wrong idea from this. Well, at least she apparently was up and about, and dressed, which was a good thing, even better considering Lily herself hadn't managed to reach that state yet. She wondered if the other girl was looking for her now. She was there last night, it didn't take a genius to figure if Lily was not in her room what would be the second most possible place to find her. Jewel blushed a bit, she didn't realize news would get around so fast. "....Did I miss something? Are you going somewhere?" So much about hanging out in this room all day.
