The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jack watched this group of mutants follow the one man they called Mr. King. She wondered where they were taking her... For now she didn't even care. As long as she got away from that facility she'd been stuck in her whole life, any new place was good for her. She kept her eyes peeled on the windows of the van, trying to catch any glimpse of the outside world she'd never been a part of.
After several series of secret entrances into a new building, Jack and this girl named Syn, exited the van. When everyone else had left, she looked around for possible exits, just in case this place wasn't much different from the facility she'd just left. It was awkwardly silent as she and Syn went down an elevator. Just as the thought passed through her, Syn asked her, "Why did you want me to get you out of that place so quickly? Did you want to escape them or was it an act so that no one else would get hurt?"
Jack didn't look at the girl and kept her eyes on the door of the elevator. "I... I've never been out of that place. I wanted to leave..." she quietly said. A flash of her Miss Penelope came into her head, but she immediately shook it away in fear the woman was dead. These mutants seemed to be deadly. "Most of the people there were nice to me. The doctors...nurses...my assistant..." She cleared her throat softly and stared at the numbers of the elevator as they descended.
It suddenly occured to Jack that this girl was actually standing near her in what seemed complete control. No one had ever been able to do that. She wanted to reach out and touch the girl to see what would happen, but decided against it. Her people skills weren't exactly normal. She'd never been around anyone this closely her whole life. Everyone spoke to her through a speaker in the door of her room at the facility. "Uh, how come you aren't getting sick like everyone else?"

Sorry... *snickers* Maybe Mr. King should give out directions on who is to catch her? Or you could all rush her. I'm sure that would be funny. j/k

Jacquelyn Guy sat on her bed, tossing a rubber ball at the wall in anger. It bounced from the wall, to the floor, and to her hand, repeatedly in her boredom. Night was beginning to fall and she was glad. It was the best part of her day because that meant...no more tests. She'd been having tests on her since before she could remember. Endless, endless tests. Only was it until she was older, did Jacquelyn realize this was not a normal life for a mutant.
Her assistant, Miss Penelope, had been taking care of her forever. She wore a white nurse's outfit like the rest of the other nurses, doctors, and scientists that roamed throughout the facility. However, Penelope was different. Penelope actually treated her like a person instead of an experiment. She was Jacquelyn's only friend. Penelope wasn't allowed to tell Jacquelyn much of anything, but she couldn't help but feel sorry for the young girl. When Jacquelyn turned 13, her assistant began explaining that she had once had parents and all mutants didn't have to undergo experiments like she did. She told Jack, the nickname Penelope gave her, that the reason she first came to the facility was because her parents had fallen deathly ill from her mutation.
Jack cursed her mutation as she tossed the ball with all her might at the wall. The rubber ball bounced and hit the opposite wall that was made entirely of plastic, except for the small intercom where she spoke to people back and forth from. Everyone surveyed her through that stupid wall, leaving her no privacy. She knew why though. Because no one could be around her more than a few minutes before getting sick. Penelope couldn't be in the room much longer than 15 minutes before she became ill like the rest of them.
She lay down in her bed, unable to sleep like always. As she stared up at the ceiling, all she wished for was a chance to be outside. They had given her one window to look out of from the facility, which she spent most of her days sitting at. They were out in a wooded area somewhere, on top of a moutain. Sometimes, she'd rather not have the window at all, seeing it as being some kind of torturous...'look, but can never touch'. Jack turned her head to the window and saw the starry night sky, wondering what it was like to be free.
(OOC: First person to post after this should be Oppressor, followed by his team.)
