The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Gina laughed and shrugged, “I’d just assumed… with it called the Sanctuary and all…”
Maybe she’d been too quick to assume, so the gargoyle dismissively replied, “It does kinda look like a cathedral from the outside. I’m probably wrong, though.”
Gina followed Aurion deeper into the Rec Room, keeping stride with him by skipping a little between each step. Her opportunity to reply was cut short by a loud whistle, and the gargoyle lifted her gaze, her tail flicking slightly. Gina was innocent, but she’d gotten that whistle enough to know what it meant.
Gina breathed a faint groan, wrapping a tiny arm around Aurion’s massive one. She wasn’t in the mood to deal with this tonight, not after what’d happened in the park. She was pretty sure if Aurion stayed close enough, they’d leave her alone.
“It’s no problem,” Gina sighed, “Just so long as I’m over here, they’ll probably leave me be.”
This didn’t stop the gargoyle from tossing a wink their way. This gesture, of course, sent the boys into a tizzy. Gina returned her attention to her reptilian guide.
“Well, I mean… we have the common area,” the gargoyle explained, “With a t.v. and such… there’s a pool, basketball courts, and a maze… lots of land… but above all, it is a school, not a mansion. I mean, it is a mansion, but… more of a school. So we don’t have anything as fantastic as this, you know?”
Tilting his head to the side, "Make sense though." A brief smile. "I not think it before. I ask Lisa later. Tell you when know. Yes?"
When Gina's slight arms wrapped around his, Aurion stiffened for just a moment. The moment was very brief, though he was surprised at her reaction. Since she was so much closer than she had been, he really started to make sure he knew what that arm and hand was doing, where it was placed, how it was moving, if it could accidentally scratch her. Even if her skin was tougher than a humans, he had no doubt a careless movement on his part would still harm her. That was one reason he disliked being around or too close to people, he had to be even more cautious than normal.
"You sure? If not comfortable..." He was a little hesitant in his speech. Before he could offer anything else though, the boys suddenly went into a mini frenzy of giggles, laughs, punches to the arms of others of the group, some not-so-covert points towards Gina. The boy who had whistled was pulled into a headlock and noogied. He tried to fight the others off, playfully, and failed. Aurion could not understand what the heck they were doing, of course he had not seen Gina wink either.
They boys might think Aurion was a bit odd, so would a lot of people. If he were a normal guy Gina's arm grab would have probably gotten a much different reaction. One that could make him very embarrassed, or at least blush. The fact he was only concerned about the position of his hand, would say a lot, if anyone knew that's what his mind was on.
"We have those. In Gym room. Lot stuff there. If want see..." He let that hang in the air for a few second. Then his brain actually heard the other part. "School?" How long had it been since he had been there? 10 years? What grade had he been in....5th? 6th? Had he started middle school? For the life of he he could not remember. He knew that he had not finished that school year...or had he? "What kind school?"
