The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

There were no longer need for words. Agnes was fully embracing what was going to happen right now. This was a huge step for she and Rebecca since they had yet to reach this point prior. Though she had thought about it before, she never imagined that it was going to take place in the very public, Mansion library, in the dark of night, while studying for finals. Sure there were the occasional fantasies and dreams that Agnes had but none of them had ever involved something like this. This was just pure combustion and passion that needed an outlet and it needed it now.
A pause descended on them as they stood there, taking a second to catch their breath. Agnes actually blushed a little as she took in the moment, seeing more of Rebecca’s pale, freckled skin then she had seen before (at least intentionally). Their shirts lay on heaps on the ground and Agnes suddenly felt how really exposed she was. It had been awhile since she had done anything like this so she was not surprised by the tremble that subtly shook throughout her body.
But the chill of the library air was displaced the second she felt pulled back into Rebecca’s warm embrace. The melded heat from both their bodies was probably enough to set the very pages of the books around them on fire. Every touch, every kiss, every nuzzle, it only stirred the growing fires within; it reached such a point that Agnes’ wings began to involuntarily flutter fiercely.
It was then that she felt those slender arms of the young Scot wrap around her. There was no turning back now…
…
…now…
…
…okay really?
Apparently Rebecca, the brave girl who challenged crazed mutants and the dangers of the world, had finally met her match…with a clasp. She tried not to laugh, she really did since she did not want to embarrass her sweet girlfriend, but the scene was just too funny to not laugh at. Standing there, one had covering her mouth to keep from laughing and other gently encouraging her girlfriend with gentle caresses, she waited paitently.
>> "Heh, ye think a girl wouldnae hae this problem. Um, let me try this."
Agnes smirked and nodded before she finally just gave into the chuckling. This would definitely be something that both these girls would remember from here on out. But Agnes did not mock or laugh out loud; instead she merely smiled and kissed her girlfriend, encouraging her to continue until, with some maneuvers, the task was finally done.
>> "Well, at least that's done."
“You’re doing good,” she beamed a little shyly as she took Rebecca’s hand. She was encouraging her, showing her support; Agnes was not going anywhere and she just wanted Rebecca to know that this was a step they were taking together.
She then leaned over, crystal blue eyes searching those mismatched colors, seeing the same love and passion she felt before, and kissed her again. Skin goosebumped and she trembled still but Agnes was growing far bolder. They had reached that point of no return…
***FADE TO BLACK***
There was a sigh as Agnes curled against Rebecca, pulling up one of the oversized t-shirts to cover them like a blanket in that haze of bliss and sleepiness. Lying on the floor, it was surprisingly not cold as they lay between the book shelves, a few books lying around them that had fallen from before. Dark hair mingling with red, Agnes kissed softly behind Rebecca’s ear before she laid her head back down. Gently she ran her fingers across Rebecca’s bare arms, testing to see if she was indeed awake or not. She didn’t want to ruin the peace and calm of the moment, but at the same time she wanted to make sure that Rebecca was okay.
But she said nothing, trying to preserve this joy, anxious for whenever Rebecca finally said anything about this new experience together. Silently she simply nuzzled into Rebecca’s hair and waited for one of them to break the silence…

Rebecca was coming down from a wonderful ecstasy high, lost in a pleasant rest. She could feel Agnes's fingers dragging lightly along her arm, but she had a difficult time convincing herself to wake up. If she opened up her eyes, the moment of bliss was over, and she was really enjoying bliss.
Unfortunately, Rebecca was now indeed awake. She decided that consciousness would not spoil her last moments of post...well, post-amazingness peace. There was a kiss behind her ear that widened Rebecca's smile. Without opening her eyes, she nuzzled her head between Agnes's neck and shoulder. She planted a kiss on soft skin that may or may not have been chest. There was a soft "mmm" of contentment, followed by, "Ah love ye like crazy..."
Agnes had been cautionary afterward. She didn’t want to push Rebecca, especially since she didn’t know exactly what the young woman was feeling Times like this, they were hard to really wrap your mind around because everything was so different and knew. The sensitive skin, the coolness of the air, the feeling of pure vulnerability as you laid next to someone you thought you truly cared about. This was test that would show just how serious the relationship was: if she could just open her eyes and still feel exactly the same about her when they looked at one another.
The young bug queen waited, nibbling her lip as he tried to not still seem so nervous. After she had reached this step with Rhythm, the girl vanished and messed around. Though Rebecca was a far cry away from the type of woman that Rhythm was, there was still that anxiety that she would be met with the same fate.
She sighed as kissed the young woman’s forehead…and was pleased when a cooing smile appeared on the redhead’s lips. Rebecca crept close and nuzzled into her, which only made Agnes blush yet smile all the wider…
>> "Ah love ye like crazy..."
Agnes felt as if everything in her world was absolutely perfect now. No fears of studying or going to school or even of her powers or parents; everything made sense with those few little words from the one person that meant so much to her. She probably could have cried if she did not wrangle herself in as much as she was. Instead, though, her thin arms wrapped around Rebecca, underneath the oversized t-shirt they used for a blanket (which really hid nothing)and she pulled her close, kissing her again.
“I love you too,” she whispered sweetly. “More than I will ever be able to express.”
She sighed contentedly and hugged Rebecca close. Absolutely nothing was going to ruin this moment. Nothing…

Geez it was late to be working in the library, Kealey bemoaned as she made her way through the halls in her second home. Still, there was inventory to be done, and Ami had been nice enough to agree to come along despite the late hour. Slowly, the blond was passing her knowledge on to the Aurum's sister in hopes that eventually she'd be able to lessen her load at the Mansion.
"Thanks for coming along...." Kealey said with a smile in Ami's direction. "This goes so much faster with two people, I don't have to go back and forth between the books and the computer and having someone nearby helps me not get distracted." Despite the improvement in her control, and all the practice she'd done since coming to New York, Kealey still found the emotionally charged environment of the Mansion distracting. Now though, late at night, the halls were quiet and so were most of the inhabitants. It was nice.
Approaching the double doors that lead to the library, Kealey frowned, she could distinctly feel a tangle of emotions coming from inside. Who could that possibly be at this hour?
Not mentioning it to Ami, Kealey pushed her way inside and instead of heading towards the circulation desk, wandered in the direction of the emotions. They were a strange mixture of satisfaction and euphoria that was difficult to place. Kealey knew they were familiar though, and they gave her butterflies low in her belly. Frowning slightly she rounded a set of bookshelves and...
"Oh for the love of all that's holy! Cover yourselves up!" she squealed, slapping a hand over her eyes after the moment it took for the scene to register and stumbling back into a bookshelf at the sight of the two unclad girls on the floor. That explained the emotions...but there were some things you just didn't want to share with strangers!
Kealey's cheeks burned, "But don't you dare go anywhere."
Oh no...had those been books strewn around? Too late, she wondered if Ami had followed.
She. Had followed. Yup. She had seen it all. Or all the t-shirt didn't cover. Which wasn't much. And wow.
A tittering laugh escaped her. Was her face red? Where was her mind? Heh.
Um.
Thoughts tried to form in the back of her mind. They struggled and wriggled against it like fish in a net. Finally, one slipped through. As the two girls laid there awkwardly, she caught Kealey's hand dutifully.
"We," she found herself surprised at her voice's conviction. "Should give them some privacy. This," why was she grinning? Go away, grin. Shoo! "Really isn't any of our business seeing. Put some clothes on, you two. And get a room. I suggest Agnes's." Cough.
Seriously. Kealey needed to come with her, because she was dragging the woman like mad. Real thoughts could come later. After she let what she'd seen click in her head. Like how traumatic it was. And whew, nudity. And Agnes. And Becca. And canoodling? In libraries? And t-shirts? Oh my!
Of ships and shoes and ceiling wax, and cabbages and kings.
Amelia trailed, more to herself. "We need to grow wings..."

Rebecca was coasting on the Agnes-high, appreciating how soft and warm her companion was. They would have to return to finals, but it seemed like a distant memory at the moment. The girls were on their own little cloud, miles above the world.
>> "Oh for the love of all that's holy! Cover yourselves up!"
It is amazing how quickly Rebecca could come crashing down to Earth. Rebecca's eyes widened in panic at the sound of a femanine voice with an Irish lilt. "Ack! Kealey! Rebecca quickly got to her knees, covering up her chest and feeling around for her shirt.
>> "But don't you dare go anywhere."
Where was she going to go? She was naked-- it was not exactly the attire to stroll through the Mansion halls.
>> "We should give them some privacy. This, really isn't any of our business seeing. Put some clothes on, you two. And get a room. I suggest Agnes's."
Oh no, of course Ami would be with Kealey. Rebecca would never hear the end of this now. She was stone cold busted, head to toe in a scarlet blush. She fumbled around with her shirt, doing her best to keep her breasts covered by her elbows until she managed to pull what turned out to be Agnes's oversized shirt over her head. It served the same purpose, covering her up down to the thigh.
Now she could focus solely on her embarrassment. "Ah'm sorry, we were, um, studying an' then, well..." Well, then Rebecca decided she could not handle her hormones. All she could do was hope there was not a severe punishment for public... well, what she did.
Agnes was in complete and utter bliss. She didn’t care if she were snuggling with her girlfriend, in a very public space, lacking any clothing except for an overly large t-shirt that barely covered them; all that mattered was that nothing was going to ruin this moment. Agnes so rarely had moments that were not ruined by something that she reveled in the few that actually turned out extremely well. She grinned as she nuzzled Rebecca and contemplated just snoozing for a couple of minutes to enjoy the warmth of her body and sweet sounds of the silent library…
>> "Oh for the love of all that's holy! Cover yourselves up!"
>> "Ack! Kealey!”
>> "But don't you dare go anywhere."
Agnes squeaked loud in surprise and jumped into a sitting position the second she heard that accusing, shocked voice, followed by the startled sound of her own girlfriend. Agnes watched as a woman, her name Kealey, had stumbled across them and swiftly covered her eyes. A blush of fierce red enveloped the young runaway as she scrambled to grab any bit of clothing. The look of shock on the woman’s face was burned into the back of her mind now.
Quickly she managed to grab onto a shirt and slipped it on. It was oversized but far different from the black one that she had been wearing. Instead this was Rebecca’s shirt. A glance to her girlfriend and she saw that she too had grabbed the wrong one. This was not going to be awkward at all…
>> "We should give them some privacy. This, really isn't any of our business seeing. Put some clothes on, you two. And get a room. I suggest Agnes's."
Agnes almost smacked her own forehead as she saw who appeared next. Ami? Of course it would be Ami that should up next. Though it had been awhile sing she last spoke to the young woman, this was not the circumstance that she wanted to meet her again in.
As if it were possible, Agnes felt herself turn redder and she tried to keep the shirt low enough to cover below her waist until she could grab her sweat pants. Unfortunately she didn’t want to move because she was afraid of embarrassing the poor blonde woman any farther.
>> "Ah'm sorry, we were, um, studying an' then, well..."
Agnes…said nothing. Really there was no excuse for her to defend herself. They were caught, for lack of a better term, red handed. The blonde, who looked familiar enough for Agnes to assume that she worked here, looked both fluster, mad, and just confused by what she had walked into. Thankfully, though, Ami began to drag her away (well, at least try to drag her away).Agnes was quick as she grabbed her flannel pajama bottoms and slipped them on, quickly tied the strings of the waistband into a knot. They were not coming off again tonight.
Gawd…she blushed as she thought about that and glanced over to Rebecca. This was soooo embarrassing…but even so why couldn’t she stop herself from grinning slightly when she saw her pretty face? She really, really needed to get herself under control now…

Man. Now she was blushing, and embarrassed, because the two girls were mortified. In fact, Kealey was mortified too, now that she thought about it. It was a messed up jumble of messed up jumbledness. And now Ami was trying to drag her away.
A new feeling manifested, and Kealey glared behind the palm covering her eyes.
"No" she said, risking a peek between her fingers and tugging her arm away from Ami, the girl could leave if she wanted, someone had to deal with this...
Sure now that the girls were covered, Kealey plopped her hands on her hips, trying to fight off the embarrassed blush that was making her face burn so hot.
"Really?" she said incredulously, "Really"
"This is what you do in the middle of a school full of people?" This was not over.
Doing that in a school full of... that was not an appropriate thought to--
Ugh.
Heh.
Seriously, ugh.
"Kealey, seriously." She said seriously. Even though she was kind of grinning like an idiot. "People make mistakes. And this obviously was one. Even though it looks highly calculated. And if we don't want to make one by giving them huge expulsions of making them feel worse for what they've done," which was a wonderful thing, to be sure, "Maybe we should give us all some time to come to terms with what exactly this was... and how best to punish all those involved therein."
Therein. Seriously? Heh. Weird words were coming out of her mouth and not all of them made sense.
She was amused. And shocked. And horrified. And grinning. And, and, they probably needed to leave the scene ASAP, as she couldn't adequately comprehend all of the 'traumatized' burned beautifully into her brain.

Rebecca stood there, bracing herself for the impact of Kealey's tongue-lashing, feeling painfully exposed due to the situation and the fact that she had not yet equipped anything under her long shirt. It would have to do, sadly.
>> "Really? Really? This is what you do in the middle of a school full of people?"
People who shoulds all be asleep if they are in their right minds!
Yeah, that would have been a terrible retort, and nothing less aggressive came to mind, so Rebecca held her tongue. Agnes seemed roughly as painfully silent, which was not exactly helpful, but what was at that point?
>> "And if we don't want to make one by giving them huge expulsions of making them feel worse for what they've done."
Rebecca's eyes widened at the big "E" word. Why the hell would she even bring that idea up?! Ami was obviously trying to help, but more accurately, she was increasing Rebecca's anxiety levels. How terrible would it be to end up expelled just before finals and waving goodbye to Columbia and Juilliard, respectively. Would Agnes hold this against Rebecca now?
And all because the girl could not control her stupid hormones!
>> "Maybe we should give us all some time to come to terms with what exactly this was... and how best to punish all those involved therein."
Rebecca was always happy with her mutation, but at that moment, she would have given up magnetism and her right arm for telepathy. Please, Kealey! Pleeeease jist let us off with a warnin' fer being dumb teenagers.
All the girl could vocalize was, "It was my fault... Ah lost my cool." Stupid "volcano of repressed Elizabethan female sexuality." There was truly a time and a place for empowerment, and she picked the wrong one. "Ah shoulda been more careful. Sorry..." Rebecca's eyes did their best to appeal to sympathy or pity-- whichever would take her.
Any good feelings that she still had were completely wiped away the second that she heard the tone in the blonde’s voice. She winced and shyly looked down at her bare feet, wishing that she had the power of invisibility instead of anything to do with insects. The only thing that she wanted in all the world right now was to just fade away, to make herself cease to exist so that she could vanish from sight. Her cheeks were still flushed and it seemed as if the whole experience was taking far longer than it should. All she wanted to do was crawl back into her room and hide under her bed for a few millennia.
But such luck was not going to befall her. Ami tried to help to pry the woman away, but she was not having any of it. She was angry, that much was obvious, but she also seemed quite embarrassed at what she walked in on. Obviously; who wouldn’t have been embarrassed by it?
Sadly, it looked to Agnes as if this woman were out for blood now. Ami still tried to speak on their behalf to give everyone a cool down period but she had no idea if it was going to work. All the young runaway could do was sit there on the ground, waiting for the axe to fall on their fates…
>> "It was my fault... Ah lost my cool… Ah shoulda been more careful. Sorry..."
She turned to Rebecca and shook her head.
“N-no, I’m sorry,” she responded. There was obviously no way that she was going to let Rebecca get full blame for this. “It was all my fault. This…obviously isn’t the place for something like that,” she said and shook her head. “I won’t ever happen again.”
She closed her eyes as she tried to keep herself in check. Expulsion, that was the last thing she wanted to hear right now. Not when both she and Rebecca were so close to graduating.

”Careful?” Kealey said, fanning herself. ”You’re in a library.” This was so unfair. She hadn’t done anything wrong, but she was still stuck with all the emotional repercussions.
At least the other girl was contrite, and they were both mortified to have been caught. Kealey couldn’t help but think that it was a better response than outright insubordination or sass.
Still…
Kealey sighed, hand on her forehead, as she tried to figure out what to do on the fly. It was tempting to tell the girls that they’d simply have to wait for her to decide what was going to happen, but then she’d have to come back in the morning.
”Go get yourselves decent and get back here while I try to figure out what to do with you.” she said with an exasperated sigh, walking towards the circulation desk.
”And don’t get distracted.” she added over her shoulder.
Careful. Right. God. And it kept getting worse. They were apologizing, begging. And saying... saying crazy things. What the hell, Agnes?
She would have slipped a crack about the 'careful' in when Kealey had brought it up, but everything was steamrolling her so fast. She hadn't expected this. She'd wanted to sort books, not see boo-- ahem. See books scattered on the floor. And what the hell, Agnes?
What the hell, Agnes? Seriously? While Kealey was walking away and telling them not to get distracted, all she could do was shoot the girl a confused, searching look. "Seriously? Never again. Sheesh. Don't sell yourselves short."
There. That was said. And she'd said it. And now, she was out.
Without a word to Kealey, she turned and left. The blond could sort things out just fine without her. She was bothered and giggling and traumatized enough...
Every step away from the library, down the halls, just got better, too. Heh. What a witty thing she'd said. And seen. And...
Frick. She needed to find someone to sort this all out with, or she'd explode.

>> “N-no, I’m sorry. It was all my fault. This…obviously isn’t the place for something like that. I won’t ever happen again.”
If Rebecca was not so terrified, she would be angry at how Agnes was trying to stick herself with the blame. She had to know this situation all stemmed from Rebecca steaming like a teapot, but she was so good at feeling guilty, she took it anyway. Rebecca was ready to counter-apologize, but Kealey did not leave her the chance.
>> ”Careful? You’re in a library. Go get yourselves decent and get back here while I try to figure out what to do with you.”
Kealey seemed to be in rough place, Rebecca thought, before remembering that Kealey was an empathy. The realization that her librarian was feeling her emotions caused her to blush more in embarrassment, which was silly and would just add more embarrassment for Kealey. Rebecca was ready to immediately comply, but as Kealey walked away, she heard Ami comment to Agnes.
>> "Seriously? Never again. Sheesh. Don't sell yourselves short."
It was hard not to laugh at Ami, but she tried. After all, never again applied to the library, but it better not have applied across the board. ”Oh, shut up, Ami.” Her grin was accompanied by a rolling of the eyes before Rebecca grabbed Agnes’s hand and pulled her away from the room so they could change and appear at their sentencing.
She waited until they were in the girls’ wing and started to chuckle, wrapping her arms around Agnes’s waist. ”Ah’m sae sorry, Ah shouldnae laugh.” Agnes was probably ascending the defcon levels of panic, so she wanted to respect that. ”Ah’m sure Kealey will take it easy…ish on us.”
She kissed Agnes’s cheek and whispered in her ear. ”An’ Ah still dornt regret it.” She hoped the same held true for Agnes.
Agnes was still a bundle of nerves. She didn’t want to ruin the rest of her academic future because she could not control her urges. But most of all she was angry that this could possibly affect Rebecca so badly. She didn’t deserve to have her record tarnished either. That was why she wanted to try and take the blame for herself; thinking that if she caught all the flax then that should at least keep her sweet redheaded girlfriend from taking too much of the blame.
If she could take this bullet, then she would. Honestly, though, she hoped that it wouldn’t get that much out of hand. She loved this school and would have hated to have been kicked out for this.
Then Ms. Quinn announced for them to make themselves decent while she tried to think about what to do with them. Before Agnes knew what to do, she was pulled away by Rebecca so that they could finish dressing.
Once alone in the room, Rebecca giggled but hugged her tightly. Agnes, still a little mortified at all this…could only collapse into some giggling as well. She tried, though, she really tried to keep herself in order so that it didn’t sound too loud. The last thing that she wanted was for librarian to think that they were not genuine about how bad they felt.
>> ”Ah’m sae sorry, Ah shouldnae laugh…Ah’m sure Kealey will take it easy…ish on us.”
She sighed, finally stifling her laughter long enough to reply.
“God, I hope so,” she muttered. She was still nervous but slowly it was beginning to wane now that she was alone with Rebecca. At least for the next few moments she could just have Rebecca to herself to dwell in the feelings of their most current activities.
Slowly Rebecca pressed close and kissed her softly on the cheek before she whispered in her ear…
>> ”An’ Ah still dornt regret it.”
Agnes blushed—fiercely! Just the thought of what they had done in there, the moment the two of them shared, it was so tender, so loving, and deep down, Agnes knew that she was not really sorry for it either. She was sorry that the two of them had gotten caught, and obviously they should have chosen a better setting, but as for the act itself…
A shy grin crept across her face as she leaned down and kissed Rebecca softly with a nod.
“Me neither, love,” she said as she kissed her tenderly. “Me neither…”
