The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Allison… wasn’t really sure what being in the city had to do with people falling into your lap. Better excuses from the denser population, maybe? She wasn’t used to anything but the city. Interesting that Aura was, though. “Where are you from?”
Allison, obediently, looked. And blinked, and looked again. A theme park was… not what she’d been expecting. At all. Who wore dresses, of any kind, to theme parks? They were impractical in about five different ways that Allison could think of off the top of her head, even if they hadn’t been particularly nice ones to begin with.
Aura apparently not knowing what theme parks were could explain it, though. “I’ve been to a few, but not very recently. They’re fun.” And an absolutely terrible place to wear a dress, or makeup, or really look nice at all, but that comment wasn’t really needed.
The shelf opening caught Allison’s eye, and when the car stopped she moved over to it, kneeling down to pull the box out and open it. “...Oh.” Well, that explained the clothing problem, anyway. How to change would be… problematic. “We’re supposed to change?” How? was most of what Allison was wondering, but if wasn’t a question she’d object to having answered. Mostly due to the hesitance over how.
It seemed they were, though, so she removed the clothing carefully, attempting to sort it. The shoes were fairly easy due to size, the rest of it wasn’t much more difficult.
When asked about her past Aura's eyes took a brief haunted look, before returning behind her normal gaze."well i lived in the city until nature sent me her blessing, but i don't recall any of that. My firsts memories were sitting in a cage until i was rescued by Miracle, then from what i recall and much of what i learned since, i was taken to a forest in Canada. There we fought Humans who favored automatic weapons and mortars" she said shaking her head. "As far as i know most of my memories of that time are false, but that much was confirmed by the only other person to survive the forest with me" she said shaking her head again. It was hard to discard her memories as false. She had believed them for as long as she could recall, literately.
"This is my first time seeing one in person. Aura said wondering if this was what normal people did in their free time. She could not see well enough to realize most of the people there were kids. "It's pretty large" she said looking up at one of the coasters that suddenly shot down a huge dip in the track. Aura could only wonder if Venus had set this up to make them harder to find. Aura despised the idea but one could hide pretty easily in a crowd, so it was quite practical in a way.
Aura glanced back at Allsion hearing her question but was confused by it. Aura realized they were suppose to change upon seeing the clothing and grabbed one of the outfits from the box and set the outfit down on the seat. With no hesitation at All, Aura grabbed the bottom of her dress, and pulled it over her head, dropping it on the seat. Aura slipped the long bright pink fitted tank top on, as well as a pair of a tight fitting pair of bicycle shorts. The top was longer in back and on the sides falling to just past her butt where as the front fell less then in inch below where her shorts started.
"well if you need help" Aura offered as she sat down and yanked her shoes off, replacing them with much more casual white flats before looking back to allsion. Aura had no look of shame to her about having changed in front of someone else, not did she realize she should have. Modestly was something she did not entirely understand. Her memories were of her in a forest with many others. They had changed in a collective barracks if her memorys were to be trusted.
“Oh. I’m, uh, sorry.” Allison had no idea at all how to react to that. Living in a cage? Or not living in a cage? Allison wasn’t even sure what she was reacting to, really. It did, though, prove that Aura had not grown up rich, and thus hadn’t inherited the money that had gone into this date. So she must have gotten it from somewhere. Where, though, Allison couldn’t begin to guess.
Really? Though, once Allison thought about it, that wasn’t that surprising. Theme parks were hard to miss once you got near them, but it wasn’t very difficult to avoid going near one. Especially if Aura didn’t drive. “This one’s bigger than most, I think. They’re all pretty large, though. They have to be, with as large as the rides are.” And as many rides as were needed to make a park interesting, and space for lines and food booths and games. And children.
...Actually, now that Allison thought of it, that could be bad. She wasn’t sure how Aura interacted with children, but she suspected it didn’t involve cooing over them and giving them presents. She’d probably better try to keep them away from the worst concentrations of kids, then. Easy enough; she didn’t like being surrounded by children all that much either.
Allison squeaked when Aura pulled her dress off, cheeks immediately turning red again as she spun away. She wanted to point out that that really wasn’t how you were supposed to behave, at least not on a first date, but was too busy blushing to form any words.
Allison peeked back over her shoulder at Aura’s offer, turning when she saw that Aura was dressed again. She still had no idea what to say, though, so after a moment of hesitating she picked up the remaining outfit and moved a few steps away, stepping out of her shoes and turning to face away from Aura before pulling off her dress, setting it on a seat and pulling on the sleeveless white shirt as quickly as she could. It was a bit loose (supposed to be Aura’s?--whatever, not changing again), but not more than many shirts she regularly wore. Allison was fairly used to loose clothing, and generally preferred it.
The shorts, on the other hand, were as red as her dress had been and definitely not too loose. They were, in fact, slightly difficult to get into, requiring Allison to hop on one foot a bit to try and keep her balance. That might have worked slightly better if it wasn’t for the forgotten bottle of champagne, which ended up under her foot. Allison squeaked again as she fell backwards, shorts caught on one foot and the other knee. This was not a fall she’d be able to save herself from.
Aura saw nothing wrong with getting undressed in front of others, male or female and So Aura only glanced back a moment at the squeak, Allison made. When Allison started to redress Aura got distracted once again by something that shot down a red set of rails at a very high rate of speed. Aura was surprised the people on the thing did not all fly to their deaths. Unsure weather to be disappointed or happy any mutants on the ride were still ok.
Aura watched As Allison Fell, spinning quickly around, stopping by quickly forming an Aura spike on the heel of her foot, and slamming it down. The Limo place was going to be unhappy with the three inch hole in the floor, nor with the fact, you could see the road through it. Her Aura spread from her foot over the rest of her body out of instinct. Aura used her new foothold to steady herself as she used her Arm's to try and catch under allison's arms and tried to pull her toward her.
Aura heard the metal in the floor bend as she braced herself. Aura looked around to see what had happened and saw the pesky bottle from earlier. Their seemed to be no other cause anyway. AUra looked over Allsion's shoulder, glanced down to check if she was wounded. "Are you all right?" She asked softly, letting the aura spike collapsed and rejoin the rest of her Aura, only to blink off a moment later.
“Uh. Yeah.” It took few seconds, and several blinks, for Allison to figure out exactly what had happened. “Thank you. I’m fine.” And quite fascinated with the way the aura disappeared; it had appeared… well, instantaneously, as far as she knew. She wondered how that worked; how much practice had Aura done, to be able to control it that well and that quickly? Or did it not require the level of exact detail that hers did? And maybe she should stop wondering about that before the limo driver--she still didn’t have shorts on, did she? No, they’d ended up around her ankles, somehow.
Allison blushed, squeaked, and attempted to stand up, lean down, and move away at the same time. The result was a near exact repeat of her lack of balance, except that she’d realized that was the likely result as she attempted it, so she was able to catch herself. Before she ended up on the floor, anyway. She flailed, caught herself, stood, and then leaned down to grab the problematic shorts, finally looking back up once they were on and hopefully not going to cause any more embarrassment for her.
Though that probably just meant something else would. Blushing seemed to be a theme for her today.
“So. Um.” The limo was stopped, and didn’t seem about to start again, so they were probably supposed to get out soon. Or already. And she was pretty sure there’d been something else in the box, though she’d been a bit more focused on the clothes and their implications.
Aura reached her hand out to catch Allison again, but she caught herself. Aura Looked down at the hole in the floor and realized she could see the street in the two inch wide hole Aura had used to keep her balance. As Alsion got dressed Aura picked their passes, Aura took hers and gave Allsion hers. Looking over it, Aura was not entirely sure what to do with the thing. Aura glanced at the faked name on her card a semi-blurry small picture of her on the card.
Aura made her way to the door and slid it open. Looking around she realized they were the only ones there except for the driver. Aura hopped out onto the ground and looked around. She was looking for anything dangerous or hidden, what she saw, was a lot of steal not to far off. Aura was not quite sure what it was but every few minutes screaming people shot down the track.
Nothing dangerous she looked back into the car. With a stretch she saw Allsion was dressed. "The place is interesting, So what do we do now? " she asked unsure of the place. It looked huge from where she stood. SHe looked for the limo driver to see if he had a clue, as to where they were to head to. SHe noticed a very nice pavillion near them as well, that looked a sif it had never seen dust. Their looked to be fewer people then Aura had first thought, she was relieved by this as she would be able to see any dangers before they arose
The Chauffeur rounded the car, and smiled to Aura. and spoke softly." Well, This is where those passes take you, everything is paid for on either the pass or the game card. He also said to make sure you knew by now that she is meant to have a good time, and you are meant to have a good time.' He nodded encouragingly. hoping the thick headed girl would take a hint. did he take the long way for nothing? Venus gave them other clothes to change into and...nothing. Perhaps his niece wasn't quite the lady killer he was.
He quickly changed his take as soon as Alli was ready to exit the limo. " So, I'll be here at your disposal whenever you are ready for the next portion of the evening." The Chauffeur bowed low for the lovely couple.
Allison missed Aura’s question, busy examining the pass Aura had handed her. She wasn’t sure where the picture had come from, but it looked normal enough; probably it had been from an old yearbook or college sports profile. It seemed like a cropped version of those pictures, anyway, and not like something that had been taken without her knowing. The name, on the other hand, was definitely not hers at all; she… really had no idea why that was. Or where Helen Parker had come from. Aura knew her first and middle names, at least, though now that she thought of it she wasn’t sure she’d ever mentioned her last name. Probably not; she hadn’t used it much, recently.
Allison checked the box a last time, picked up the map and shoes, and ducked out of the limo, only slightly still blushing from her earlier fall. Speaking of which…. Allison reached up, absently brushing her hair back into place as the chauffeur spoke. “Thank you.”
The ground, however, was not particularly comfortable to stand on, so Allison wasn’t going anywhere until her shoes were on. She stood on one foot, trying to get the opposite shoe on with one hand, the other hand full with the map and extra shoe. Which, of course, was a difficult position to balance in; Allison squeaked, dropped the map and other shoe, and reached for Aura. To balance, of course.
Allison might be blushing, clumsy and generally much more awkward than normal, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t think at all, or had forgotten anything she’d learned.
The bow was lost on Aura who had never learned of such formalities in these situations. SHe barely had a grasp of what the drivers job actually was. She had no idea who the name on her Id was either. While it was possible it was her actual real name she would not know anyway and even if it was not, she guessed it was as suiting as anything else in place of Aura. She understood her name attracted far to much attention and so needed to be hidden a bit.
Aura felt Allison's hand on her shoulder and never once did her Aura flicker. She tended to block physical contact where she could, but Allison was different. She kept still as Allsion used her to balince and as She did Aura looked over the park again. It was a stange series of metal and screaming people near them. Close enough where aura thought they might hit the fence and see some lovely action but it was not to be.
"Lead the way?" Aura asked tilting her head. She had no idea what this strange jungle of metal and screaming was. Allison seemed to have a better idea of what was going on and what they should be doing. It also freed her up to look for anyone looking strange or like they might hurt Allsion. That was the key above anything else, Keep Allsion safe from whatever was seeking to harm her., and the lovely floating feeling she felt in her chest was nice to.
Allison wasn’t entirely sure whether Aura was being polite by letting her decide where they went, or genuinely was that confused by the park. Either way, though, she could certainly lead; she smiled at Aura, hesitated a moment before reaching for her hand, and headed toward the park.
Allison had been to theme parks before, but not recently. She’d gone on family trips when she was young, and on class trips when she was slightly older, along with the occasional not-called-a-date that was always about equally awkward and amusing. None of that had happened in the last few years, though, and she hadn’t been to this particular park, so it had almost all the benefits of discovering one for the first time, plus the advantage of knowing what to do. And the passes; those were definitely a bonus. Allison would have to figure out how Aura had gotten them.
Allison, conveniently, really did enjoy the ‘scary’ rides that seemed like you were going to fall. Which, whether Aura did or not, gave Allison the opportunity to lean over to her before each new ride and warn her that it would seem like they were going to fall, but they wouldn’t really, so no need to use the aura.
Odd. Normally Allison used her knowledge of what seemed flirtatious to avoid doing anything that could be interpreted as more than friends. Aura… wasn’t someone she wanted to cut off that option with, though.
Aura took Allison's hand and let her lead, as she seemed to understand the place far better. It was hard keeping her Aura off with the people near by, but she managed. The world of steel they had walked into looked like an insane city, it was distracting and could not help but glance around every so often both because she wanted to be on watch in case Allsion was in danger and because the sheer number of people simply made her nervous.
Without Allsion's pre-ride Assurance, she realized she might well be dead. The instinct who form her Aura, was normally on a hair thin wire, in this case breaking the safety equipment however would have hurt as she realized many of the ride's were quite high up, she even grasped Allsion's hand the first few times only understanding it made her feel better and not quite why. Though she attempted to maintain look out and the rides height would have seemed to provide a great view, most were to high to see people well and the place simply had to many people all going in seemingly random directions.
She did ultimately enjoy the ride's what she managed to convince herself their was no actual danger. Still she stayed close Allison, trying to guard her, unaware it could be interpreted as something much different. The only part that was still odd to her was the brief feeling's of floating on some of the taller ride's, Allison was right, it was not dangerous but she was still unsure if she liked the feeling or not. She did notice that some people were very jealous of their go-first passes and other's mostly males she saw seemed to look them over.. Aura watched these people out of the courner of her eyes in cases they were the danger to Allsion.
