The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

So the black widow's hunger for blood was already satiated? That was somewhat reassuring to know. He wasn't really in the mood to stay out all night on a killing spree, especially when those that would have been targeted had nothing to do with anything that had happened previously in the night.
With revenge now behind him, Jirou made his way towards the buildings exit. He wanted to get as far away from Jersey as he could, and he wanted nothing more than to get home, park his car, and go to bed.
Leyla slid into the passenger seat of Jirou's car, exhausted and filled with familiar disappointment. She looked up at the mention of a friend, confused for a moment.
"Ah, other Russian? I almost forget." She frowned. He was a loose string, and it would probably be smartest to tie him off, so to speak, but she had already gotten out of the mood. She waved a hand carelessly. "No matter. Probably too high for remember." Not necessarily true, but what was the worst that could happen?
"You're probably right. He didn't seem like the type to really have much going on upstairs anyway." Odds were, once he discovered the bodies strewn about the building, he'd go into a panic and call the cops or an ambulance. Eventually the police would find some sort of incriminating documents and write it off as nothing more than a simple spat of gang warfare.
He hopped into the driver's seat and brought the Omega to life before setting off in the direction of Leyla's apartment.
Nobody would care about a few dead criminals and a stripper.
Jirou's hands clenched the wheel a little tighter as he thought about the innocent woman that had died because of Leyla and her over eagerness to kill. He hated having to deal with collateral damage, especially women. Human instinct was a pain.
He took the first exit he could find out of Jersey and back to NYC. God did he hate Jersey.
Once Jirou pulled up in front of her hotel, a valet opened the door for her and Leyla slipped out. It had been an interesting night, but in her mind it was most certainly over. She pulled a plain white business card from her purse and passed it to him over the seat. In bold, black print it simply read,
EUPHORIA Social Event Attendant
After this, she listed a single telephone number.
"You, I like," was all she said before turning and disappearing into her building.
As Jirou pulled into the parking lot, he waved the valet off. He had no intention of staying in Leyla's presence for much longer. She was interesting and attractive, but Jirou wasn't about to become one of her latest conquests and he still didn't want to know why she had so many sets of men's clothes at her place.
He accepted the card and slid it into his back pocket. As Leyla made her way into the hotel, he called out to her.
"By the way, I would have won that last hand. Though I'm sure you already knew that." he smirked as he threw the car into first gear and left.
