The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

A protector huh? A mutant then? Possibly, then again he had just helped him without as much as a super powered punch. “Will do, Sounds like you make a habit out of meeting people at odd moments.” Aedus eyed the group of guys as they came parallel, nothing abnormal here…that was probably for the best those kinds of odds hurt more than an even fight. Though further down the road looked like there might be a scuffle.
Aedus tapped Drew on the arm and nodded toward what was going on. A mugging? A fight, teenage guys just hanging out? he couldn’t tell.
“Shall we?’ Aedus rolled his shoulders losing the muscles and his frame; he rolled his neck in a slow circle. It was always good to stretch before exercise, if you got a chance. As Aedus walked a bit quicker toward the fracas he noted that, The guy up against the wall had his hands covering his face. His obviously mutant lime green hands covering his obviously mutant sky blue face. There was a second mutant on the ground nect to him, she was cowering and covering her groceries.
Aedus broke into a sprint.
He had eyes only for the pair of men picking on the couple…he couldn’t have been aware of how the group of guys they passed had turned around and was walking back to the rest of their gang.

A smirk played across his face.
"You have no idea. Why, I met my boss while trying to hold up a coffee shop. It's a long story."
Drew held himself back a moment longer than his companion. He'd said he was less naive about his activities and he meant it. No matter how his partner for the evening dismissed the group they worried Drew. His hesitation saw him rewarded with the view of the group turning to join the muggers. Muttering unpleasant physical impossibilities, Drew sped up and put himself between the group and Aedus.
"Finish up quick buddy! We've got company!" he shouted to Aedus before assuming a fighting posture in front of the group. Drew had no delusions about being to take them all but if he could keep most of them occupied long enough for Aedus to finish up Drew figured he'd stand a better chance of not ending up a bloody smear.
Any fight you could walk away from was a good one in his humble opinion.
Heck, maybe with luck the other mutants would help them out. That would be fortuitous. Not likely to Drew's mind but lucky.
Aedus didn't believe in odds. He didn't believe in ten to two, He simply thought you just had to hit them harder and want it more. It was the tactic of blitzkrieg hit the opposition with such ferocity and keep them off balance until the enemy no longer saw profit in battling. To prove his point He came in fast and hard. No questions were to be asked only a furious yell, He had hoped for surprise but his partner had yelled out some disturbing news. If he didn't work quick then He was leaving Drew to the large group of guys they just passed. His measly pair of opponents was looking a lot better then the six or eight guys drew was going to be facing.
In his free time sometimes Aedus liked to free run, He thought it might make a welcome addition to the fight. he changed his course slightly and made for a bench. He leapt and landed on the bench, he took a step and then the last landed on the back of the bench, from there he threw himself forward at the first of the two thugs. He raised his knees and they collided with the first man's face. If that wasn't a good start, he didn't know what was.
He flopped to a hard landing on the ground and begin to rise just as he was catching a kick to the ribs. But hey the pair of mutants was free to go...please stay, please stay. they ran...well at least they would be safe.
One of the mutants left, one stayed, the male took the groceries and the female was going to assist Drew who by numbers alone seemed to need the help more.

While Aedus didn't believe in odds Drew did. He believed that no matter how strong or tough you were you could still be brought down by numbers or intelligent tactics. So while Aedus may not have been too worried Drew was. He knew that the strength he'd gained since he'd come to the monument of concrete and steel that was New York City wouldn't be enough to keep himself as well as Aedus and the mugged mutants safe from the group of seven distinctly rotten individuals. Not that they looked particularly nasty but they were participating in mugging a presumably innocent mutant couple. That was enough to make them rotten in his book. For about half a minute they stared at him as if just looking at him as though he were an idiot would cause Drew to move.
In this particular situation the idiot assessment was probably fairly apt. Drew was willing to cop to it because he did feel stupid. Though aggression and the need to misplace it were far more prevalent. He grinned, though the lack of light and the hood hid most of it. Then he waded into the group with fists and feet flying. He gave as good as he got and when the female mutant joined him he barely noticed her. What Drew did notice was the number of incoming blows lessen. The pain from his opponents blows receded as the number of blows decreased thanks to aid. What she was doing Drew didn't notice. He was far to focused on his fight to care.
Aedus grabbed the thug’s leg as it came in for another kick to the gut. He was going to be feeling that the rest of the week. He Wrenched on the man’s leg pulling him off balance and let a ferocity bubble up in him from where he didn’t know but an anger first bubbled up and then erupted forth. Grabbing a loose brick from the wall the pair was up against, he smashed it across the gang bangers jaw. The man rolled over with a groan and then went still. He probably passed out from the pain.
The Irishman spit out some blood and then half ran and half hobbled into the fray. Stepping in for the lady who was scratching and pulling at the man in front of her, If he was doing anyone a favor it was the guy she was fighting. With Drew and Aedus in between her and them, she started to chanting and then her voice changed to something that sounded like she spoke with the voice of a crowd.
Aedus’s wounds began to heal and he felt a rush of adrenaline pump through him that made him feel more alive than he had ever felt. He swung harder and faster, their blows felt feeble. Drew would be feeling much the same. The thugs were beginning to look afraid. But if Aedus and Drew could see the woman glowing behind them pumping them full of what appeared to be black and red flames they might have been afraid too.

Handling the larger group went better than Drew expected. Which is to say he was still pretty messed up by the time Aedus limped over to help but he wasn't dead and that was a plus. Drew had caught glimpses of the woman in action. She seemed ferocious. What she had been doing though Drew didn't really know or care because at the time his head had been seconds away from being used as a soccer ball. He'd avoided that but his kidney had paid the price in the form of a vicious sucker punch. That Drew was still standing was mostly a testament to how much he'd been put through before. The thought that Martin could do and had done worse to him was strangely comforting.
Aedus had pulled the lady out of the fight. While Drew was glad she was out of harm's way another part of him mourned the loss of another combatant. At least until she started up with the chanting and his injuries started to heal up. He felt better, loads better in fact. The adrenaline rush that normally got Drew through these situations seemed stronger now. He felt stronger. He felt faster. Was this what normal mutants felt like when fighting? Suddenly some of the disbelief that he'd endured at his willingness to fight despite not having something useful in a fight made sense. Fighting like this was easy. He barely felt the opponent's blows. A grin blossomed across Drew's face.
This wouldn't last. He knew it all to well. But if this was to be his only taste of what having a real mutation was like then he was going to enjoy it. No matter how far he'd come or how accepting of his own mutation he was now Drew would always be painfully aware of his limits. Of the fact that he was less that most of the other mutants he knew. Even if they refused to see it. Swinging another punch into another thugs face Drew laughed loudly. The fear on the men's faces was sweet to him and he savored it even as he contemplated breaking a few limbs as a lesson.
Aedus seemed to be thinking the same thing. though in the back of his mind he was wondering what the catch was…why was she willing to make them into tanks when she wasn’t willing to risk the guy with the groceries.
Aedus threw his elbow into one man’s face and then a second time as he was falling, he was moving so fast, too fast everything was becoming a blur of destruction these men, but then these men had it coming. The cracking sound of the man’s nose was enough to announce that it was being broken. The man he collided with next had brandished a huge knife, but on the first swing Aedus was tearing the blade from his hand. Several of the man’s fingers didn’t seem to line up the right way anymore.
A glance at drew showed a wicked look, it might have been happiness but in the situation it didn’t seem right, Aedus wondered momentarily if looked the same. His eyes fell on a man in the back that was starting to run. The Irishman took off after him and collided with him and then a brick wall, the collision sounded as if a rhino decided to run into the building full charge. Aedus stumbled back the man slid down the wall as if he were in a cartoon. Aedus turned to see only a couple men left. Drew would more than likely handle those. Aedus walked back with only eyes for the woman feeding them extraordinary power…and then he realized that was what the men were after…not a bag of groceries, but the service of the mutants…the woman in particular. He tried to peel his mind away from the lust of power that she was providing. The power she could give him…he fought thinking of honeyed words to give her. He walked up to the woman.
“Thank you for the help.” Yes, he was thanking her. his battle strategy would have likely gotten the pair saved but paid for it with his and Jules’s lives…possibly.

The end of the fight came far far too soon for Drew's taste. This had been the only time he'd been able to fight in such a way. The only time people had been afraid of him for what he could do instead of what he had done. It was a heady feeling to a man that still considered himself far too weak. If only this wasn't just a temporary thing. Drew found himself fighting the urge to find a way to stay in contact with this woman on the off chance that she might allow him that power again. There was no question in his mind now why she'd been targeted. Anyone that didn't want what she could do was a fool. So why was he trying not to get attached?
Because it wasn't his own power. It didn't come from him alone and therefore he couldn't rely on it. He hadn't worked as hard as he had and come this far to give in to the easy way out. If that was the case he could have continued to rely on pushing people away and hiding what he was. So even though that feeling of strength gave Drew a rush that he wouldn't soon forget he wouldn't be trying to charm the lady into letting him stick around. It wasn't easy but what about his life had been since he came to this darn city? As Aedus thanked the lady Drew took a deep breath to settle himself.
"What he said. Not sure we'd have made it through that otherwise."
The couple of mutants were safe, the aggressors had been severely punished, and he and Aedus were still alive. It was a good evening, no matter how bittersweet it felt to have to rely on and let go of the power that he'd held for a short time.
The woman bowed slightly. “ It doesn’t work on family, my ability, otherwise my brother and I would have handled it. I appreciate you guys doing what you did.”
The male mutant came running back down an alleyway with a baseball bat. And slowed as he saw the broken thugs on the ground and looked to the men sheepishly. “Isis you ok? You guys alright?” observing that they were ok the male continued. “Do you guys want to eat diner with us? If you don’t stay in her range for a bit you will fill the results of the enhancement a lot more than you might other wise..”
She nodded. “it’s a good Idea let the effect heal you all the way up before you move on. besides Tobias is a fantastic chef. “
Aedus looked over to Jules, “ I dunno about you Jules, but Im in.”
The quartet walked to down the alley way and into a older building, the apartment was modest but felt like home, all of the tell tale hallmarks of a loving family filled the little place. perhaps that was just the endorphins being pumped out by Isis.
