The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Sara had actually decided to have herself practice something. In the past she had been taught by surviving what some people would call the school of hard knocks. Life had thrown Sara some curve balls that not only aimed hard projectiles at her head, but managed to target everything else at her and around her as well.
The place that Sara had chosen to practice in was dingy. There were rows of abandoned ware houses, the chain link fence with it's razor wire on top had been cut so that there was a part of it that curled open into a door. Some of the outside walls were decorated in symbols that had been created in spray paint and murals of dragons dogs, weapons, and scantily clad ladies. One building was in so much need for repair that the roof had caved in leaving the top of a brick wall as what was left of it's foundation. It was that brick wall that had attracted the feline mutant to this particular self location for her own practice.
The wall was visible from the street, where the open side of the fence had been made. but Sara didn't care if she had anyone watching her. Even if she did notice the occasional car slow down as it passed the buildings.
As far as Sara's balance practice, the game that she made was simple. Don't hit the ground. She would stand at one side of the wall then dart to the other side as fast as she could. There she would turn on her heals and push her limits of balance by adding tumbles, falls that had her grabbing onto the side of the wall to swing her legs back onto it, and high leaps. The bricks in the wall were loose and now and then, Sara would put her weight on one the wrong way making her loose her good footing and forcing her to improvise. So on an on this game went Sara continuing her unconventional gymnastics, and the wall becoming more and more hazardous and serious in it's attempts to drop her. Sara didn't notice that she had started to attract the attention of a few locals.
The night was actually perfect for once. That had seemed to be a rarity Kyle had yet to experience since arriving at this city. Some days it was pouring rain, others it was chilly beyond belief and then of course, there were the days that it was absolutely humid or extremely windy. None of those conditions were ideal for any kind of training or scouring of the city, though that had not stopped Kyle from doing so anyway. It had made it slightly more difficult through, to do some of his more advanced training due to the harsh conditions.
Tonight was the exception. It was cool, but a kind of cool that didn't make your skin burn in response. The wind was light, the occasional strong breeze giving life to a body that was overheated and covered in sweat. It wasn't raining and there was no humidity to speak of. It was, for all intents and purposes, a good day for Kyle to do what he knew needed to be done.
He'd only been in this city for a short while and yet, he'd already been handed his first defeat. Technically, it had been more of a draw, neither side would have walked away from that fight without serious injuries, or in the worse case, walked away at all, but Kyle had conceded the point to the woman he had fought. Isabel was her name. And while he had accepted that she had for all intents and purposes been the winner of that fight, it didn't mean he didn't consider the fact that they had been close to taking each other out. He was a man; he could accept that he lost. What he would not accept is allowing himself to fail again.
He had to be faster. Stronger. Smarter. For that, he needed to train his body. And today was the first day in that journey.
It was an advantage, actually, that his excess energy allowed him to keep going for longer periods of time. It let him work those muscles beyond their limits and strengthen them on a level higher then the average man....it basically let him do twice as much work to his body in half the time. And since a good's night rest recovered his body and his energy reserves, he could do it every single day. He would train hard and the next time he ran into Isabel, well...he'd have the W that time.
For the first part of his training, he had decided to work on his agility. As such, he had driven down to the old warehouse district, where all manner of obstacles lay for him to use to practice his parkour and train his leg muscles by running around the place. Parking a decent ways away, he'd locked his bike up and then ran the rest of the way, the first step in his regiment. By the time he'd made it to the area he wanted to start off at, his muscles were starting to itch a bit, but otherwise he felt nothing from them anywhere near exhaustion. What he did notice however was the small gathering of people that were staring with their mouths hanging open at the warehouses themselves. Slowing to a stop, Kyle tilted his head to watch what they were looking at...and stared for a moment himself before smiling widely.
His training session was about to get a whole lot more interesting. For dancing across that obstacle course of twists, turns and dangerous ledges was a woman, moving across with the effort of a graceful acrobat. Without even thinking, Kyle stalked closer and folded his arms to watch...for now.
Over, under, around and around again. Where Sara was going to stop she didn't know.... but apparently the wall did.. .. .. But the wall did.
Sara came around the corner of the wall at full tilt. Rising from the latest set of tumbles. She was aiming to jump sideways past the corner and clear it by at least 7 feet on either side. Sara's feet had barely touched the wall when it began to crumble out from under her weight and it wasn't just a bick or two but the entire wall was tilting, then falling. broken due to rotting foundation.
Sara crouched and rode the wall to the ground where it through her across the weed filled sandy ground. Sara rolled landing on her knees and one elbow. Sneezing as the dust rose then began to clear revealing the splintered bricks and morder that used to be her training wall. No big deal. Sara could always find another one. It was just embarrassing because this time there was a crowd that Sara only noticed now.
One of the older teens in the crowd decided let his view of mutants be known right then too. "Stupid Kitteh. Should have let those bricks fall on top of you." The kid then continued playing out his imitation of a cat getting squished by a couple of bricks for his friends. "Stupid B****."
Sara coughed and dusted herself off as she stood. "Ok kid. Let's see you do the exact same thing." Sara strolled over to the chain linked fence where there was another section of it that had been cut open. She reached up letting her fingers lace through the links and support her weight as she leaned into it. tilting her head as if she was really a caged animal and couldn't get out. The subtle movement, and dare, quieted the teens. "Anyone. anyone at all." Sara coaxed as the crowd continued to stare right back at her.
Kyle's emerald eyes danced as rapidly as the woman atop the crumbling buildings, her actions almost fluid like in their transition. She barely stopped for even an instant, overcoming any obstacle in her path with little to no effort at all, at least from his perspective. It was a most amazing display and Kyle found himself carefully studying her motions and trying to guess where she'd go next.
Even he couldn't have guessed down would be the direction.
The crowd itself gasped as the flimsy wall that the woman landed on crumbled under her weight, some of them averting their eyes to avoid seeing the poor woman get crushed under the pile of rubble that the wall was about to become. Some even cheered silently at the thought of seeing her get crushed, especially a small group of teens with an obvious attitude against mutants. He was close enough for Kyle to hear him muttering things about them under his breath and in lue of the situation, kept from knocking that kid a new brain.
Instead, he kept his eyes on the woman as she collapsed with the floor. No, she didn't exactly fall with the crumbling wall. She "rode" it down. As the last of the wall hit dirt, she was tossed off, landing almost gracefully a short distance away. She rose a moment later, sneezing due to the dust cloud kicked up by the falling wall, but as far as Kyle could tell, she was unharmed. Quite the nimble little kitty, eh?
The anti-mutant kids quickly took advantage of the fact to toss some insults her way, sneering and trying to edge his friends on to join him. Trying to look so tough and cool. Smiling, Kyle focused his attention back on the woman as she suddenly challenged anyone in the crowd to even dare to attempt what she had done. Muttering and low whispers echoed throughout the crowd, hushed concerns and people wondering if they should attempt something so dangerous. The loudspoken teen didn't waste any time using this as another chance to take a stab at her. Frowning, Kyle stalked forward slowly, gathering a small bolt of energy into his fingers as he approached.
"Why should I need to prove I'm better then you when we all know I am? The only thing I need concern myself with is if your worth more as a pet or a sla...GAH"
He never finished his sentence as Kyle subtlety flicked that bolt the kid's way, using the crowd to mask his attack. The kid was knocked from his feet and hit the ground in a slump, cradling his head. Stepping from the crowd, Kyle smiled as he stared at the fence before him, then he hopped onto it and quickly scaled the links to jump into the yard with the woman. Standing on a narrow wall segment, he folded his arms and grinned. "I'll take on that challenge. Come on kitty cat, let's play."
Leaning against the chain link fence, Sara felt her pulse thump harder as the stupid teen began insulting her again. Being a cat mutant wasn't easy. This was nothing that she hadn't heard before. Being a cat mutant wasn't easy, but it still made her blood run hot and fast through her head. It was probably best that he had never finished his last word. What with the hole vindictive cat thing.
In fact what happened to the boy made Sara smile. It seemed that there was a second mutant in the crowd.
Then a young man whom Sara hadn't been paying attention to (thanks to those lovely insult) stepped out of the crowd. Oh and it seemed that this guttsy dude was willing to answer her challenge. Pitty. she would have loved to have the teenage idiots answer it. But he would do.
He scaled the fence and faced Sara back on top of the brick wall with a little too much enthusiasm. Through Sara's mind she was thinking mutant, or human with a death wish and too much to prove but either way. She had her challenge excepted. and excepted with enthusiasm at that.
"Right then." Sara said. her mood shifting from the sour one that she had the stupid teens to thank for, to something more playful. Sara placed her hand on the top of the wall and hoisted her legs up. Swinging them out sideways as a test strike aimed at this young man's feet to see what it is that he would do. "My name is Sara. I'd love to know yours before we go too far." Sara said as her legs came to rest under her weight and she staid crouched. Tail twitching.
Kyle smiled with growing amusement as the cat-woman turned her attention to him, the change from annoyed to playful clearly shifting across her features. Did he forgot to mention that the lady he'd been watching was covered in fur from almost head to toe? And had a tail? Hence the fact that he considered her a cat-woman in his mind and that her athletic dance from before had likely been the upside to her outside appearance. Still, despite the fur, he could see that her body was well shaped and defined. It was no wonder she was able to move with such fluidity.
Which was what her first move was likely intended to showcase, among other things, as well as test his reaction. Placing her hands on the wall, she suddenly swung her legs over with ease towards him, a low level kick aimed towards his legs. Lifting an eyebrow, he waited till the last second before the legs were about to hit....then tensed his muscles and jumped. Backwards. While shifting his body weight so that his legs ended up in the air for a moment.
Landing with both feet on his own wall behind him, Kyle shook for a moment to regain his proper balance, then grinned and folded his arms across his chest, watching the woman, now known as Sarah, watch him in kind. Oddly enough, in a weird way, her appearance could be considered exotic and appealing. But perhaps that was because he didn't find issue with it because he was a mutant as well. Curious.
"But of course, that would be only fair. I'm Kyle and it is my utmost pleasure to meet you Sarah. Now then....shall we play the hopping game?"
Kyle wasn't terrible with his balance. So far Sara's test for him proved to be easy and in the back of her mind she wondered exactly how strong and fast he was. "The pleasure is all mine."
Sara hadn't risen all the way out of her movement onto the wall, but instead staid low in a spider man styled pose. One foot supporting her weight, and the foot that had done the attacking behind her. Tail dangling and flicking. She looked very much like a predatory cat. Elegant, dangerous. The crowd seemed to still have quite a show.
Lets see what else Kyle can do other than jump land and shake pritty.
With the only thing that served as a warning to Sara's next move being an extra fast and wide flick of her tail, Sara moved. A quick leap to the next well and without stopping to catch her balance, she took a running step towards Kyle. Every movement varying her speed and control. The first two strikes came straight for his shins left leck kicking forward and down then the right. Dancing on her toes. As the right leg jerked forward and down, her right hand shot forward faster than the blink of an eye aiming to grab Kyle by the front of the shirt in an attempt to keep him from backing up. As a showier move she tried for a third kick in the combination. Her right foot rose till it was level with Kyle's stomach and she gave it a sharp push.
A mischievous grin made its way across Kyle's face as he stood there on the wall, watching Sarah watch him watch her...well, that was a redundant statement. In any case, his body was tense, poised and ready for the next move that would befall him. And yet despite himself, he couldn't help but admire the skill the woman had unleashed. The people below, the one's who weren't snarling over her appearance, were either intently watching or silently applauding the show. At least some of them were decent in that regard.
"Oh, I'm sure the pleasure will be yours by the end of this dance. I'll just enjoy the pleasure till then."
His eyes, both full of amusement and yet a cold seriousness, studied her form intently. He saw no fur, no features that any normal woman would not have, didn't regard her as a freak of nature because of her appearance. All he saw was a beautiful example of mutant kind and the movements her lean form was making, watching for any tell tell sign of possible danger. And it came....in the form of her tail suddenly flicking to one side.
In an instant, she was upon his wall and shooting towards him. Shifting his position on the wall to face her charge, Kyle also shifted his stance so that he wouldn't fall from the wall either. All the while, his mind worked to study her incoming attacks, to counter them in the most effective way possible. First came a kick to his left shin. He simply moved his leg forward into the inside of her kick and shrugged it to the side. Her second kick came just as quick, aimed for his right shin. This time he parried by putting his foot to hers and pushing it down, negating her kick with his own. It made him wobble a bit, but he quickly found his purchase...and then a hand grabbed the front of his shirt.
Kyle was saved in a way by her grabbing his shirt, for it gave him the means to re-balance himself properly, but it also meant his options for dodging the next attack were limited. Luckily, he next attack was one he could counter despite the handicap. Her leg came up again and with a snap so quick Kyle almost missed it, kicked that leg towards his stomach. He shifted himself to the side, her kick grazing him as it went past, and then his arm wrapped around her leg and pinned it to his side. In the meantime, his other hand shot up and grabbed the arm holding him by the wrist. With a tug, he pulled her closer to him and grinned.
"I must say, you've done a very good job of taking good care of your body. I can feel the muscles rippling in this leg here. Very impressive. You must work out a lot; it compliments your appearance. Appealing." With that said, he released her arm with a light shove back, then grabbed her leg with his other arm as well....and shoved it to the side. It would hopefully spin her, and, as she was either back around to face him or with her back to him at the time, he would use an open palm strike to her midlevel to push her back farther.
Sara's kicks had been redirected but they hadn't been gong at full. She was at play, so her intent wasn't to end this game right away. So few times did she really get a chance like this. Even when Cold Steal and her spared in the danger room she'd held back, and he had the ability to make ice armor.
The arm on her leg surprised her so much she'd missed him grabbing her wrist to pull her closer. Giving her a compliment nonetheless. Was he hitting on her. They had hardly been on the wall for more than a minute, he'd accepted her challenge and.. .. .. Really.. .. .. He took this opportunity to hit on her? Had he not heard of speed dating? Sara had been around this sort of treatment in the past. Her cat for had that unfortunate draw back but this situation sort of compliments, the way that they were said had to be a first for her. At first she was thrown off of her game and the fleshy part of her nose darkened into an embarrassed blush.
Sara regained her composure as fast as she had lost it. The smirk returned to her face as she leaned forward back towards Kyle. "You have no idea." The visual part of Sara's mutation was easy to see. She was a large walking talking cat but one of the things that one couldn't see was that her healing mutation had given Sara another added advantage over the past few years. Over time, she had gone from having slightly more strength than an average person, to having the strength of an Olympic weight lifter. Her healing abilities had gone above expectations and produced muscles that were slender but dense. So while Sara would sink like a stone in a lake, she could float like a butter fly on land.
Kyle shoved her arm back at her, (Some ending to a pick up line.) and then her leg was shoved to the side. Sara accepted the movement and followed it. Her upper body leaned forward and the shoved leg landed on the fence, to support Sara's weight. She could sense Kyle coming in and her tail flicked high back and forth in an attempt to smack him in the face, though there was no real power in any strike from her tail. It mostly served for balance and in this case, Sara hoped for a distraction as the leg that she had been standing on was now lifted and aimed to strike back behind her as Kyle's hand bounced off of Sara's turning mid back section. Sara was preforming what was hopefully a mule kick that she intended to make connect with Kyle's sternum.
Kyle’s grin slid wide across his face as he caught that changing color on Sarah’s…nose. Considering the rest of her body was covered in silky hair, it was about the only place a blush could really form now that he thought about it. Still, he’d made her blush with his earlier comments and that, in his opinion, was a good start. It also meant she was not above such things and that his comments were something she was not used to. A shame; people rarely did look past appearance to see the being within. Being a mutant was one of the things that made you see everything and was one of several reasons why he was proud to be one of them.
Her embarrassment faded just as quickly as it had appeared and with a sly grin that Kyle knew would make most men melt were it on a human face, she replied back to his comments. That brought an even wider grin across his face, if that were even possible and there was that tinkle of mischief hidden in it and in his eyes. ”Likely true, but I am looking forward to investigating more thoroughly.” If she was as intelligent as she was swift and stunning, then she’d catch the underlying context of that statement. An honest request to get to know her better in the coming future.
But the future could wait a while longer. Here and now was what he needed to focus on, especially with this agile feline as his partner. His quick movements to try and set her up for his palm were, surprisingly, effect to a degree he had not expected. His push and spin move had indeed put her back open to him, but as he rushed in, he couldn’t help but notice that her balance still seemed to be…perfect. Her counter was, at first, her tail smacking against his face. It did nothing to dissuade his move but it did surprise him slightly at what he viewed as a useless maneuver…but then again, it was likely more of her playful nature being exposed. Cute.
Her real attack came a moment later, right as his palm smacked against the flat of her back. Logically, it did pitch her forward…but as she did, her leg came up behind her and with the speed he’d come to expect of her, she mule kicked it towards him. Time slowed as he saw the leg coming from him and his first thought was to dodge off the wall. But that wouldn’t do any good. It would deny the point of the exercise. So he opted for something a little showier and a little more painful.
Using his still forward momentum, he shifted to the side, not quite fast enough to evade the force of the kick, which skidded his side again and ached pain throughout his right. He almost lost his balance because of this…almost. Gritting his teeth, he locked his arm around her leg again, then quickly wrapped his other arm around it as well. And with a heave and a ho, he used his falling to the side to assist him in using her leg to try and toss her off the wall to the one across from them. As soon as he released her leg, he quickly caught himself on another lower wall for a moment before jumping back up to where he’d thrown her. This was turning out to be too much fun.
”Now how is it that I’ve never been lucky enough to run into someone as amazing as you are? Its not often you find someone that has beauty, brains and ability mixed all into the same package…but you’re proving them quite wrong Sarah.”
It seemed that Kyle had chosen to take part of her strike. Commendable though in part of Sara's mind, she thought it was also a little foolish. She wasn't going full out or full speed but having some fun. Then again at the moment... Well? She was flying.
The beginning of her flight hadn't been very pretty to watch. Sara's body had been twisting in the wrong direction and her tail and feet spun to correct her trajectory. Using her tail as a ruttier, her body straightened out feet before landing on her clawed hands. The textured pads of her palms found the rough surface of the brick, and she let her right arm bend and arc to absorb the impact. Sara's weight was rolled from arm up to her shoulder across her back, then onto her feet. The move allowed Sara to turn to face her opponent in the same move and wasted as little energy as possible in the tumble.
Somewhere in the whole rolling across the wall process, Sara had scraped her upper arm and shoulder across a sharp piece of broken brick. She mearly glanced at the wound while Kyle made his way to the same wall that she had landed on. It didn't bleed much, and already the open skin was knitting together under the guard hairs of her fur.
She held up her right hand, wagging her index finger at Kyle. "Aah-Aah-Aaahh." Sara strolled across the wall each calculating step closing the gap that Kyle had put between them. "If you talk to all the girls like this, you probably drive them away. Not that I blame them." She shrugged. The shrug was turned into a ranged attack. Sara had managed to pick up some stones when her hands hit the wall, and they the two of the me were flung at Kyle. One for his head, one for his stomach. Mostly to see what he would do.
Mean while the boy who had been taunting Sara in the crowd had recovered, and even he had stayed to watch. The look of teasing disgust lost and replaced by one that was vacant of most expression. His mind wouldn't be changed, but he also was still wanting to see what happened next.
So far, every move Sara had made, every action she had undertook, every word uttered from her pink lips had had a sense of grace and style. The way her body flew when Kyle tossed her with all his strength was anything but graceful. She flailed her body in the air as she sought to correct the direction she was flying in, likely to make sure she didn’t land in a painful position.
She didn’t disappoint his expectations. Somehow, she managed to twist her body in midair so that she was straight on towards the wall. Then, after grabbing onto the wall with her hands, she went into a roll that allowed her to avoid taking any serious damage from the tumble. Without missing a beat, she rolled back up to a steady stance facing him, firm in her position upon the wall she’d been thrown too. It had only taken seconds for her to recover and as far as he could tell, she wasn’t any worse for the wear.
In the meanwhile, he’d moved over to join her on that wall, his arms folded across his chest as he watched her actions. His eyes were serious, but his expression was one of amusement. His side still throbbed from where she’d connected with him earlier, but he was able to hide that pain easily enough. As she wagged her finger at him and slowly started stalking towards him, Kyle noticed three things. The first was that she was favoring one of her arms a bit; maybe she had gotten hurt from the roll after all. The second was that she was coming closer and if experience had taught him anything, readying for an attack would be his best option.
And finally, the third thing he noticed was…she looked damn good stalking towards him like that. Her words made him smile and he winked at her, adjusting his voice so it came out with a playful tone. ”Oh, but you’re not driving away at all. Quite the opposite it seems. So I’m thinking you just might like the compliments and maybe would like to hear more and am just being modest about it. Course, I’ve been wrong before. I’d hate to be wrong now. It would be a shame if I couldn’t give you compliments that were worthy of being made.”
As she shrugged her shoulder, Kyle’s earlier suspicion that danger was coming kicked in. However, when she made her attack, the method she chose to attack in caught him completely by surprise. Instead of a physical attack, like all the ones thus far, her method of striking this time was via the throwing of rocks his way. That simple fact threw him off for a moment, allowing the first rock to clip off his head, breaking the skin. He barely winced and only twitched his head to the side as a reflex, a line of red from the cut sliding down his cheek. The other rock she threw, aimed for his stomach, he smacked away with the palm of his hand, sending it tumbling down to the ground below.
He stood silent for a moment, letting little drops of red drip to the perch he stood on as he pondered. Then, with a grin as wide as a crescent moon, he waggled his own finger at her, then licked his lips. ”Naughty kitty. That’s not very fair, attacking from afar. How can I get a good feel for your athletic body that way? Ah well; if we’re playing the range game, then its only fair if I get the next toss.”
As the last of the words left his lips, Kyle snapped his fingers towards her twice, both actions sending two finger length bolts of purple energy streaking towards Sarah’s midsection. Well, one for her midsection, the other for her upper shoulder. And for good measure, another two bolts snapping form his other hand, aimed at her opposite shoulder and then at her stomach. And the game was afoot!
The truth was that Sara was enjoying the banter back and forth and the corner of her mouth twitched as her nose darkened again in a blush. "Yeah. I am enjoying this." Her head tilted to the side as she spoke her next few words. "I'm also enjoying the fact that my other half, would eat you alive given the chance." It was Sara's way of saying that while this was fun. This is as far as things would ever go. What could she say about the flirting. She was a cat. She blamed the feline nature.
Yeah Sara threw the stones. No it wasn't fair but wasn't this a little training game anyways. Kyle should know better than to mock her for having used the stones just because they hadn't been expected. Physically there was very little response to the rock that went flying straight for Kyle's head. Just a twitch. Then a line of blood showing Sara that she did indeed connect the stone to his head decently enough. It also gave Sara some concern but Kyle still wished to continue this.
Why was this apparent? Well for one thing, what he had to say. For another he was attacking Sara now with little purple bits of electrisity. Ah Yes.... Sara's old friend....
The first two finger langth lightenings hit Sara dead on. The piece that headed for her midsection made her body jump back. Partially out of surprise It still hit and hurt, The second piece of lightening headed for her shoulder faster than she could recover from the first surprize and devise a plan. The hit didn't do much to her other than throw her shoulder back, again Sara wasn't sure if this this was due to the attack's force or her own reflexes. Immediately the smell of singer fur lifted around Sara in the air.
The second hand moved to attack Sara and she ducked to the right avoiding where his finger was pointing. The first and second bits of electricity zipped past her so close that Sara swore that they made her fur on that side stand on end. If the fast human moved at a 10 then Sara was a 25 at her true speed. The only issue was this move left her completely off balance and not even the assistance of her tail could help her regain it.
Just as it was occurring to that human in the crowd that had been harassing Sara that this might be the mutant who zapped him mid sentence, Sara was falling. Her body folded up One arm grabbed the wall at her feet as she slid sideways and when her body was horizontal, She used her perch to sling shot herself to the other wall. Once there her body twisted to connect with the other wall and sling shot herself back at Kyle.
Her body was twisting this time, when her hands found the sturdy hold on the bricks at Forte's feet. One leg swung over Kyle's head then came down to kick Kyle across the ribs. The other went to follow her first leg, but this time, by Kyle's head. Should her movement not be interrupted, Sara would try to land in a crouched position on the wall in front of Kyle.
A smile creased Kyle's face as he saw Sara blush again, his own feelings about their banter and battle obviously matching her own. Then Sara mentioned her other half; Kyle's expression didn't falter but his mind did skip a beat at this. She already had someone who respected her gifts and beauty did she? Well, that meant this party wouldn't end in one way, but that would be fine. It was a disappointment, but there was nothing he could do about that.
He could enjoy the rest of the game though. "Well, he could eat me, yes, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'd disagree with his stomach later. But whoever he is, he's quite the lucky...well, man I hope. Or cat man.
The neat thing about Kyle's power was that even in its weakest form, it still stung like no tomorrow. And the spots his shots hit would feel like they'd been burned for a while, even though there was no real heat in the bolts. Kyle had used slightly stronger bolts for Sara, enough so that they'd do a little more then sting horribly without causing too much damage. Still, they accomplished the task Kyle hoped they would. Catch her by surprise and throw her off balance.
Seeing Sara stumble off her perch on the wall, Kyle's first instinct was to try and help her. Then his logic kicked in, along with the part of him that understood her skills first hand...and so he waited, readying his guard. If her previous showings had been any evidence...ah, there she went. Even as he was thinking it, Sara was moving to correct her situation. As she stumbled from the wall, her arm shot out to catch it on the way down. As she swung down, she used the momentum from her fall to slingshot herself back up to the far wall; and just as easily, she propelled herself from there back towards were Kyle was standing.
The suddenness of her launch caught him by surprise. He likely only managed to avoid heavy damage from her next moves because he was already expecting something to come from her. His eyes tracked her every move and his body was already moving when her leg came swiping in for his stomach. Still, for all his preparation, she was still a heck of a lot faster then him, so the tip of her foot grazed him, sending a lance up pain up from his side. Wincing, he ignored the pain in order to deal with the follow up attack, a kick for his head. He was still moving back at this point, so the foot swung through the air harmlessly in front of him and Sara was suddenly there, perched in front of him.
"Be still my beating heart, I think I"m in complete awe of your mastery of your acrobatic body." Not giving her a full chance to recover, Kyle's arm was already coming around in an arc. His free hand, flicked his index and middle finger towards her, sending two of his bolts towards her at an angle that would make them pass on either side of her. That was the point; it prevented her from dodging to either side without risking a hit. In the meanwhile, his other hand completed its arc and released a bolt about as large as his fist at her midsection. And just for additional fun, he was following in its wake, his fist hidden behind him and brought about to hopefully take advantage of the damage his bolt would do.
Even if Kyle didn't have Sara's speed, he had decent enough instincts to keep Sara on her toes. For instance she was still landing and finding her footing from her latest attack when Kyle's hand was in motion. Now that had to say something and in the back of Sara's mind she wondered why it was that Kyle had the instincts and practice that he did. Perhaps a question for later.
All Sara would have had to do was blink and she would have missed the attack that came from Kyle's two fingers on either side of her. Wait... Sara hesitated seemingly stuck between two two bolts of what ever it was. She wasn't sure what to call the result of Kyle's mutation. It wasn't quite like normal electricity and being that Sara was right in front of Kyle at point blank range, it didn't seem like him to miss on purpose. Sara was part animal and this fact was something that would always be a part of her mind. She knew a trap when she saw one.
Now the only question was weather she should get hit by the trap or the unknown. With the bolts of purple too close to either side of her for her to drop, straight down and still avoid a hit, she was going to get hit no matter what. She might as well give him heck for it. heck in a fun way that is.
The motion of Kyle's fist caught Sara's attention and bracing herself, she moved one step backwards and slightly to the side, right into one of the bolts of the trap. Sara's right hand moved to catch Kyle's wrist of the hand that he was taking a swing at her with. The fist sized bolt passed by her and she used both of their momentum to rock backwards onto her backside, meanwhile pulling him forward so that his weight of his upper body fell on, and was supported by her rising feline feet with their claws curled back to keep Kyle from the sharp tips. The move was very much the same as the move that kyle had use on Sara before. The differences was that Sara wasn't planning on throwing Kyle. Giving Kyle any distance would only give him more of an advantage over her with his mutation.
Instead of throwing Kyle, Sara held onto his wrist, still feeling the sting from the other bolts. She aimed to tumble with Kyle so that he would land on the fence that they were both having this little contest on, and she landed with her feet flat and even with her hocks. At least trying to distribute her weight more than what her feline feet would normally allow. Then crouch low in an attempt to balance.
