The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Sorry,” said Vincent, kissing her quickly, “didn’t mean to.” Kissing her again he went over to the fridge and opened it. Pulling out a soda he shut the fridge, turned and took a seat at the table. Opening the can he took a sip and smiled at Jade.
She was wearing clothes that revealed her scars. He always felt sad for her whenever he saw them, but didn’t ask about them as he didn’t want to dredge up painful memories. They also spurred him on to tighten security on the island.
Over the past week he’d improved it a lot, and now along with the sensor grid there was a plethora of automated defences in place. He’d also been working on a mechanised suit in secret, something he could wear and fight in if he had to. It was far from finished, but if Fusion Corp ever cam he wanted to be able to fight them himself.
Jade sighed, noticing his gaze falling upon her scars, her hand was shakking a bit as she looked over a him. Her hands folded cassually in her lap as she gazed at him with apprehensive eyes.
"You want to know about my past and I think it is about time I told you." Jade said to him, waiting for him to respond
Vincent gave her a reassuring smile, “You don’t have to tell me anything if it’ll make you uncomfortable,” he said, “I can guess how painful it is for you to recall your past, so you don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
While it was true that he was interested in her past, he did want to know badly enough to have her face all the terrible memories again if she didn’t want to. He wanted to try and share in some of the pain she had suffered, lighten her load a bit, but if she felt better botteling it up then he’d let her.
"No I think its time I told you, I need to move foward. If I dont tell you now then I never will." Jade responded, tail wagging back and forth slowly.
"My father left my mother when I was five, so I never really had a strong man in my life. I was very good to my mother and we did what we needed to do to survive. When I discovered I was a mutant I was at home and my pants had suddenly riped and I found this furry thing." Jade wagged her tail as if to signify what she found.
Jade paused, eyes looking down for a moment before continuing. She was not going to lie to him as much as she wanted to, she had to tell him the truth or nothing would ever be true between them.
"I was terrified at first, I couldnt control it and I stayed home from school in order to learn. My mother was supportive of me so she could care less that I was a mutant, she said as long as I didnt shed on the good linins. wouldnt be kicked out of the house;"
Jade laughed at rememberance of her mother saying that. She really was supportive of her which made Jade's life alot easier.
"We started seeing a Doctor for my mutantion named Doctor Fusion. Whom you know as Fusionist, He said that my mutantion was very unique and he wished to see my full extent of my power. But on one of these days I was using my powers, I passed out and was in critical condition. Though I was still alive, Fusionist told my mother I was dead, that my powers overloaded and froze me and when he tried to help I shattered into little pieces then melted."
Jade growled lowly at that, knowing that if her mother hadnt believed Fusionist in the first place, if he handt made it so believeable, she would have been safe with her mother still.
"I woke up and I was srapped to a table where the experiments began...I killed people Vincent he made me and if I didnt he would have killed me. So I listened...most of the time. ALl the times I didnt, he beat me with a whip, chair, glass bottle, anything that was on hand I was hit with. THe orderlys always drug me back to my cell bruised and bleeding where no medical treatment was recieved....not only that he....he..."
Jade paused, tears gathering in her eyes. They fell down her face silently her lips quivering. her hwole body shook as everything came crashing back to her in a torrent of emotional waves.
"let the orderlies, do what they wanted with me as long as they didnt kill me or rape me. But Vincent I can still feel thier hands, I can still feel them all over me, it hurt so bad. I was afraid they would do worst and no matter how many I killed it just got worst and worst. Fusionist then tried it and his scared me the most but when I wouldnt give myself willingly he beat me and said how much he always hated the defiance in my eyes. Right after that is when Linda found me, but I still endure it for five years Vincey. I still remember..everything."
Jade finally broke down into sob her small frame threatening to fall off the bar stool.
Vincent listened to her recount he painful past. He hated fusionist all the more after hearing the specifics of what he had done, and his hands’ clenched to fists as she spoke of him. Then he heard her sob and all anger was replaced with concern for her.
He was instantly at her side, one hand about her shoulders, another holding her hand. “It’s alright Jade,” he said, trying to reassure her and bring her back to the present, “You’ve escaped him and that existence. You’re here, on this island with me. I’ll look after you ok, I’ll keep him away from you.”
As he said those words a small tear trickled down his cheek. He hated seeing what Fusionist had done to her, and he took that promise as a solemn vow. Fusionist would not get her again so long as there was a breath left in his body.
However, he pushed those vengeful thoughts aside as Jade needed him to comfort her now, not distracted with thoughts of revenge. He hugger her to him, stroking her hand, trying to reassure her that everything was alright.
Jade nodded meekly, looking up at him. She wrapped her arms gently around him in a hug, burrying her face into his chest. Her hands clutched at his shirt tenderly as her body heaved in sobs.
He made her feel safe when he was next to her like that, when he held her like this. He made her very happy, possibly as happy as a husky woman could be. She looked up at him, body stilll shaking lightly, if Vincent looked down he would notice his shirt would be drenched in tears.
"Im really safe with you arent I? YOu have no idea how happy I am about that." Jade responded, tail wagging back and forth happily.
Vincent held her to him as she let out her pain. He had never hated Fusionist more than at that moment. Ignoring the tears on his shirt he smiled warmly at Jade and kissed her. “You are safe here. I’ll continue to improve the defences around the island. By the time I’m done this place will be a veritable fortress.”
Kissing her again he gave her a big hug. He would protect her against anything that came at them, he would do all he could to give her a safe and happy future. She deserved that much at least.
Jade nodded slowly, actually believing him that time. She smiled and kissed him on his lips, her tail wagging happily. Jade pushed her hair out of her face a question formulating upon her lips.
"Vincey....now that I have told you, perhaps maybe you could tell me about your past. I mean there has to be some reason why you are on this Island." She said, looking up at him. "Vincey could we maybe sit down on the couch?"
“Sure,” said Vincent as he stood. Taking her hand he went into the living room and sat down on the couch, his arm around her shoulders. “The reason I came here was escaping from a project that I had been enlisted in. I was a member of the sentinel project.”
He let out a sigh as he recalled how eager he had been to start work on it, putting his mind to use on something that on the surface seemed perfect. “I was supposed to help design and build a series of robot police to help keep peace and order. But, after I did a little digging, I found out that the owners though the best way to keep peace and order would be to use the sentinels to round up mutants and either lock them up or eliminate them.”
“Once I knew the sentinel’s true purpose I quite the project and came here, where I could work on what I wanted, building truly peaceful robots that could help out in everyday life.” That was why he had come here, but the reason he had come here alone was because of something else.
“There’s something else,” he said, trying to find the right words, “before I came to the island I was in a relationship. I thought that I’d found the woman of my dreams, though she doesn’t hold a candle to you, and that we’d be together forever. Well, long story short I came home early one day to find her in bed with another men.”
“I was furious, and in a rage had the cleaning robot toss them out onto the street before giving them a chance to say anything, or even get dressed. After that moving to an island on my own seemed like a good idea.” He still felt betrayed by her, but it was an old scar, and he’d gotten over it.
Jade listened to Vincent's story thoughtfully, tail wagging back and forth slowly. She could never think of anyone breaking Vincent's heart like that. He was too sweet to be hurt in such a way.
She gently ran her fingers over his chest , trying to soothe him, through his shirt. She looked up at him with those dark green eyes of hers, filled with sympathy and heartbreak for her love.
"Ohh...vincey. My poor Vincey I dont know how anyone could do that to you. Your to sweet, loving, kind and not to mention good looking. Why would any girl do that to you?" Jade stated in a sad tone she then looked up at Vincent with a grin on her face and a glint in her eye that could make any man tremble. "And where can I find her so I can freeze her the shatter her body?"
Vincent smiled at Jade, her concern more that soothing the old scar. He stifled a laugh at her suggestion of freezing and shattering the woman. “I’m not letting you do that,” he said with a grin, “besides, being tossed out onto the street butt naked will suffice as punishment.”
Putting an arm around Jade he said, “So that’s it then, all our past secrets out in the open.” Kissing her he smiled and asked, “So what about the future?”
Jade smiled at Vincent, kissing him back gently. She snuggled in his grip slightly, making herself comfortable. Jade looked up at him with dark green eyes filled with love.
"Well we could maybe go back on land.....maybe I could reunite with my mother," Jade saddly said her hand squeezing Vincent's. "Maybe I could meet your mother, I'm sure she would like me."
Vincent smiled as Jade snuggled into him. “Yeah, a trip to the mainland might do us both some good, and I’d love to meet your mom.” He’d be able to get the suit finished in time for the trip, and by setting it on auto pilot it could follow them at a distance no problem.
With Fusionist still out there he wasn’t going to leave the island without taking suitable precautions. “As for my mom, I can’t see how she could not like you. After all, you’re such a bubbly person that I think you could charm the devil himself.”
"Well lets hope your mother doesnt act like the devil." Jade responded, leaning her head up against Vincent's shoulder. She smoothed a piece of his hair down with her palm, trying to get it to stay down without much sucess. She grumbled a bit tail hitting against the couch.
"Im sure my mother will love you, she will say you are to skinny though and she will try to feed you alot of food." Jade laughed remembering how her mother always used to attempt to get her to weigh more so she would look healthyier.
Vincent leaned his head on top of Jade’s. “I’m sure she won’t be the devil, after all she’s always been nice and pleasant to everyone I know.” The mention of feeding him up made him chuckle.
“My mom tried that, but without much success as you can see. So that’s settled then, a trip to the mainland. Now, who do we go to see first, your mom or mine?”
