The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kaz smiled as she talked about her power. "Serriously, don't take this the wrong way, but that's creepy-cool." There was nothing negative in his tone, and if Nicki looked at him closely, she would be able to tell he began running 'What ifs' in his head, that he was quite interested. "Do you have to see and read the info, or is it like...holding your hand over a book and being able to absorb the stuff inside it? Do you retain the information forever or does it go away after a while? If you can do it with people, that would make it pretty easy to learn how to throw a knife if you just," He held his hand up fingers spread, level with her head, then pulled his hand back bringing his fingers together while making a sucking noise. He couldn't help himself, he began to laugh.
After calming a bit, he stood up and stepped over to the pool table, "Don't get freaked out, k?" He turned away from her as his body began to twist. His head turned a complete 180 degreese, his elbows bent in the wrong direction, his fingers all bent opposite from how they should, making it look like his hands had switched arms, his knee caps moved to the back of his knee as his tibia and fibula twisted around. He was facing Nicki again, but his back was still facing her..so was his rear. Which was fixed in a moment as he crossed his legs and his waist twisted. He looked like a doll the way he was twisting. <That should be enough, don't want to gross her out.> Quickly he twisted everything back into place, facing the right way. "I'm extra jointed, from double to quad." Reaching down, he grabbed one of the legs of the pool table and lifted the heavy thing in the air with one arm. "All physical attributes are greatly enhanced." He set the table down gently and walked back over to Nicki. "And similar to you in a way, my body takes in physical information and remembers it. Any physical thing I do, and repeat it a few times, is forever burned into my muscle memory." He leaned back in his chair...hoping he didn't freak her out, "Though I don't know if my quad-jointedness is because of my mutation or just a birth defect."

Nicki laughed as Kaz started to ask questions, most of which she had heard before. "Well, the power is still very fragile and it's evolving as I grow up but it's definitely getting stronger. I used to have to read information or look at the page or what have you, but I'm starting to get to the point where I can put my hand on top of a book and take in teh information. I usually can retain the information for about a month unless I use it. Like, I absorbed some martial arts techniques and because I practiced them I can do those moves as easily as I can blink. But all that stuff I learned about taking apart a tractor...totally gone." Nicki smiled.
Nicki watched as Kaz twisted his body. Nicki fought to keep her jaw closed as she watched him turn and contort. As Kaz set down and continued to explain her power, Nicki was just trying to remember not to let her mouth dangle open.
Nika followed Nail to the air hockey tables. She had seen people play before and she had played the game a few times as well, but she wasn't as good at it as others she had watched. Noticing Nail put money into the machine to get it started Nika just smiled.
When Nail told Nika that he would let her start she smiled in a somewhat nervous manner. Placing her right hand on the knob portion of the paddle. She looked up across the table at Nail who was in a rather silly looking postition which made her giggle.
"Ok, here we go." Nika smacked the disc at an angle in hopes of making it bounce off the side of the table and go into the goal.

Mettaliar got a refill of his drink and soon became bored sitting at the bar waiting. As much as he wanted to sit still and wait, he knew that nothing would happpen if he continued to do nothing. He got up and took his drink starting to walk around the club particually heading towards no where.
Nail watched the puck bounce on one side of the table, bounce off to the other, and bounce off that one again.. The disc fly strait for his net, and he was ready for it. With a quick flicking motion, the paddle and the puck colided. The puck was sent speeding in a zigzag across the table towards Nikas end. The puck was moving way to fast for normal reactions to do anything, but it didn't really matter. The puck harmlessly bounced off a wall on her side of the table and zigzaged back to his side in under half a second.
Though he tried hard to stop it, it was nearly impossible to react in time. The puck shot into the side of his own net, giving Nika the first point. Of course Nail totally did not mean to do that, and his face resembled a deer caught in the headlights. He recovered quickly though, and tried to play it off, really badly.
"Just giving you some head way... to make it fair you know..."
He took the puck from the slot as it slid into it, and placed it back on the table. He kept his same goofy position, but didn't hit the puck as hard. He just tried the same thing as nicka, and bouced it off one side towards her net.

Iris blinked and flushed slightly, and nodded a thanks to couple as they moved away, pleasantly surprised at the tips. She turned slightly, and noticed the multiarmed bartender nod at her. <"Hmm...Maybe I should talk to the boss.">
A slightly sound caught her attention. Acting in reflex, she made a small spike of ice and tossed it at the counter, pinning the money to it. The air shimmered slightly as a skinny mutant momentarily lost his focus and became visible again. He looked at her in obvious surprise, no doubt thinking she was either telepathic or had Xray vision. She smiled, and removed the spike and pocketed the money. Then she moved from her perch and into the crowd.
"Indeed, What kind of bike do you have now? you said the other one was the first. I always wanted one but never really gotten around to owning my own."
"My bike has no brand. I built it from scratch. Took me 8 years. If you want, I can build you one as well."
She looked him up and down and smirked. She seemed to be checking him out eyes darting across his muscled frame. She smirked and began to rack the balls.
She smiled and nodded as she circled the table. She suddenly stopped at a weird angle from the cue ball and used her powers to easily work herself into the perfect position that when she broke fous balls went in. Two of each.
"So Red, what do you want to play? Solids or stripes?"
" that looks like game for you Abyss, she is gonna chew you up and spit you out. Don't hold back on him Girly, he wouldn't have for you."
Iara turned and smirked at Jupiter as she placed the cue without really looking at it.
"You know, you talk a lot of trash against yourself."
A quick little shot and her ball went in and the striped it was next to ran for the back of the table and sank another. She adjusted again and worked her way down to only the eight ball, all the while using his own balls as pawns against him. She sunk the eightball but scratched it the process.

Iris leaned against a railing overlooking the dance floor, sipping her drink. Her foot tapped to the beat, but that was the closest she planned on getting. She was actually having more fun watching everyone else. Some of the mutations made for interesting dancers.
She felt a tap, and turned to look over her shoulder. When she saw the same guy grinning at her that she'd seen with Iara only a moment ago, she turned around completly in surprise.
"So what brings a girl like you into a place like this?"
She set her drink down and took the one he offered. "Thank you. Um, just people-erm...mutant watching," she replied. She looked back at the crowd, then back at him. "Um, weren't you just...." She let her words trail off in confusion as she pointed in the opposite direction.
