The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Character's full name: Vincent Chambers Alias/ Nickname/ Code name:Link Gender: Male Age:22 Date of Birth: (mm/dd/year) August, 12 1988 Nationality/ Ethnicity: Canadian/Caucasian Birthplace/ Home/ Place of origin:Toronto, Canada./New York City. New York.
Appearance
Hair color and style:Dark Brown, cropped short and tidy. Around an inch long. Eyes:Forest Green Height:5’10” Build: Average. Vincent was always a little on the small side growing up, but as he aged he began to fill out. While he is still slightly small, it isn’t overly noticeable. Scars/ Tattoos/ Piercings:n/a
Everyday clothing style:Vincent attempts to dress fashionably, albeit casually. This means he mostly wears loose fitting or boot-cut jeans, or form fitting slacks. On top he mostly wears full coloured or striped button ups, or plain t-shirts with a vest. He usually accents this with a matching scarf. He also tends to wear black leather gloves for mutation reasons. Uniform: n/a Sleepwear:Black pyjama bottoms. Miscellaneous clothing:n/a
Character
Personality: Vincent, like everyone else, is a complicated fellow. He is personable enough, easily getting along with most. There is a natural charisma about him that usually puts people naturally at ease. This is likely due to his laid back attitude, smooth talking, and people pleasing ways. He also has an inherent wit, and a good sense of humour. He doesn’t like to bicker and argue, and can be quite unassertive and shy when faced with a strong personality.
However he is also quite guarded and detached. While he is usually outwardly nice to those he meets, very rarely is he completely genuine to strangers. Rather his outward visage is a careful façade to attract others to liking him. This isn’t a conscious trick, but rather it is a natural response born from a fear of being ridiculed and disliked, coupled with a genuine disinterest towards the genuine populace. This is due to Vincent’s overall low regard for humanity in general.
Indeed Vincent sees others as means to an end. While this sounds callous Vincent doesn’t see it that way. Rather he believes that all interaction is ultimately self-interested. People interact with others because they want something from them. As such, in order to figure out the actions of others, one need only analyze what they have to gain from said interaction. This idea colours almost all of Vincent’s relationships. He is nice to those around him for it is easier to get what you want when people like you.
This can make Vincent seem sly or foxy to those who actually know him. He has no problems lying or cheating when it suits him as long as the possible punishment is not too severe. However this doesn’t mean that Vincent is not capable of amicable relationships. Indeed he usually has a few very close friends whom he is completely trustworthy to. Friends can be quite useful
Vincent can also come across as somewhat pretentious as well. He is well read and considers himself an academic. As such he cannot help but slide his array of knowledge into casual conversation. While often this can come across as simply eccentric, in the wrong crowd it could be perceived as truly obnoxious.
Hobbies/ Interests: Music, art, philosophy, literature. Job or part time job and description: Masters student at New York University. Fears/ phobias/ concerns:Rejection, Social Embarrassment, being alone. Special talents: Very adept at reading others. Persuasion
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Philosophically Vincent is a nihilist; meaning that he has no absolute beliefs or attachments. As such his ‘morality’ is ever-changing. Indeed he believes the idea of morality is a social construction that can be ignored. There is no good or bad, merely different actions as judged by others. So, Vincent in general acts in accordance to whatever will benefit him the most.
Mutations
Mutation description: Vincent has the power, through touch, to psionically link his physical cellular state with that of another person. While this does not change the initial outward appearance of either him or his target, it shares any and all injuries and sensations between the two. For instance, if Vincent is linked with someone and they are shot, Vincent would also feel the impact of the bullet and identical wounds would appear on him. This linkage works both ways. If a would be attacker was linked with Vincent and hit Vincent in the face, both parties would feel the blow and receive the injury. Any healing received similarly affects both parties. Indeed all physical effects enacted upon either member of the linkage affects both of them instantaneously as if it they have both been wounded/healed/hit etc. In addition all physical sensations, such as being cold, hungry, etc. are shared between the two, however they are based upon the initial state of the target, not Vincent. Sickness, poison and disease are similarly linked.
This linkage starts with physical contact, with Vincent copying their state and instantly acquiring any previous physical state they may have. This does not affect physical attributes such as speed, strength etc., rather only modification upon this base states. Vincent can concentrate for a few minutes in order to end a linkage, although he cannot stop one from initially forming. All linkages end when Vincent and the other person are more than 25ft away from one another. Another link cannot be formed until a previously formed one has ended. Moods and other ‘mental’ events are not transferred, nor can they see or hear anything the other person can. He can only share a linked state with one person at a time.
Strengths: The strategic value of this power is immense. It is hard to want to hurt someone when you know it is going to hurt yourself. He can also heal injuries he may currently possess by touching someone injury free.
Weaknesses:The weaknesses of this power are also immense however. Most dramatically is that all linkages work both ways. Vincent cannot stop the state of his linked person from affecting him as well. He also cannot stop these linkages from forming, and as such any touch can lead to negative consequences. Any offensive capabilities of his power rely on him injuring himself. He can also only have one active link at a time.
Fighting Style
Explanation: Vincent has no training in any fighting technique, relying on his powers to dissuade combat. Pros for fighting style: No one likes punching themselves in the face. Cons for fighting style:If he can’t form a link he has very little recourse.
Faction Allegiance Unaffiliated
History Of Your Character Vincent was born and grew up in Toronto, Canada. Born the only son of Vincent Chambers Sr., a prestigious lawyer, and Jennifer Herald, one of his secretaries and eventual wife, Vincent led a privileged early life. His family was quite well off and Vincent enjoyed all the benefits of upper class living.
Vincent Jr. led a fairly uneventful life. His father was busy and distant, although loving when he was around. His mother was a doting and devoted stay at home parent. Vincent for his own part was fairly unremarkable. He attended the finest school around, where his grades were good, due to his natural intelligence, but not outstanding due to a lack of work ethic. He had an adequate amount of friends for a boy his age, although he was not the most popular boy in school. He had the attention of some girls, but he was no lady-killer. To the outside observer Vincent was the picture of average.
And perhaps he was. That was until shortly after his 14th birthday. At first it was just little things. He would have the terrible cold going around his class for a moment, and then be fine the next. The usual scrapes and bruises of a boy his age would come and go rapidly and unheralded. He had chicken pox for only 10 minutes. Indeed, there was no grand event. No cataclysmic occurrence that forced a conclusion. Rather numerous small unexplainable happenings that could only lead Vincent to the conclusion that something was not quite right. And so he was careful, and he experimented until only one conclusion could be drawn; he was a mutant.
Vincent never told anyone. Not his friends or his parents. He kept his gift a secret, fearing any labels that would be placed upon him for being a mutant. While not easy, it was possible to keep his mutation under wraps. Luckily it wasn’t the most noticeable of powers. He simply had to watch himself around anyone truly sick, or kids with broken bones. Indeed, being around the weak and elderly could be torturous for him. However a strong desire burned within him, which he did his best to keep quenched, to discover his mutant heritage. To find others like him. He tried to assuage this by reading massive amount of mutant literature. This helped, but he could never shake the feeling that something was missing. Nonetheless he carried on as usual.
And so life carried on for Vincent. He graduated high school, and attended the University of Toronto for Philosophy and Political Science where he graduated with honours. Shortly after graduation he left to do his masters at Columbia University. He told his parents this was due to the prestigious education he would receive but there was a different purpose behind his decision. He wanted to explore the mutant culture which he had heard resided there. And so he left to discover the missing part of himself.
Roleplay Where did you learn about this site?: Google Do you have any other characters on MRO, if so who: Sample RP: The horrible noise rang out of his nose like a trumpet as yellow globs of mucus flew onto the thin white sheet clasped firmly in his hands. Vincent groaned audibly as he whipped the tissue away from his face, crumpling it into a ball. Of every hardship in life, the common cold was most certainly the worst. Sickness had never been his thing, and this would certainly not abide. Vincent sniffled twice to himself as he tucked the folded up tissue into one of his side pockets.
He quickly scanned over the small study room which he was currently located. There were four occupants besides himself, only one of which was currently looking at him with a slight sneer of disgust. She would likely not be his best bet. No doubt she’d do her best not to touch him after that display. That left a possible four. Slim pickings, but beggars couldn’t be choosers Vincent sighed to himself. Immediately to his left sat an awkward male candidate. He had thick rimmed glasses, buried into the monstrosity of a book that sat before him. As he studied he occasionally brought the sleeve of his drab grey coat to his face, wiping the slight yellow dribble protruding from his nose. Likely this studious fellow was where the dreaded sickness had come from. No help here. Next.
Across from Vincent sat a stunning brunette. Vincent had been admiring her from just over his books for the past hour, but now he evaluated her with a different kind of glance. She had a good pallor to her, although that could be due to the make-up she was painted with. She also had a good shape to her, not sickly at all, and more importantly no visible mucus. However, her skirt was a little too high and blouse a little too low for Vincent’s comfort. The risk of catching something even more irritating was simply too high for his liking. She would do in a pinch he supposed. Next.
Bingo. To his right sat a bookish sprite of a girl leaning over a tome. She was simply, yet expensively dressed. Her skin was pink and bright and there was a healthy sheen to her hair. She was perfect. The type of girl who washes her hands continuously, yet will talk to strangers. Vincent leaned over to his right. He forced a faint smile across his lips as he turned to address the girl. She looked up as he leaned in towards her, looking startled and wide eyed at first, but quickly masking that with a tight pursed smile. “Excuse me miss, can I borrow your pencil for a moment?” Vincent whispered in his most musical tone, throttled slightly by his stuffed nose.
Wordlessly the girl reached over and grabbed her writing utensil, handing in tentatively to Vincent. As he took it gingerly from her dainty hands, he made sure to softly touch the top of her index finger. Instantly his sinuses cleared and the gravel went out of his throat. He smiled genuinely at her again.
“Thanks so much.” he whispered to her again. “You’re a life saver.” She had no idea. The day was looking up after all.

I've been thinking about your power for a few days and just can't wrap my mind around what would happen if Lucas tried to heal this guy. It makes me go cross-eyed.
Welcome aboard and congratulations on being one half of a heal/wound paradox that could end the universe!
